The image fades in on a close up of the sleeping face of Gabrielle Visconty the morning after her "exciting" night out on the town. She has the blankets pulled up around her head and only her face is exposed. Gabi has a little dried blood remaining on her forehead and, well, she looks like shit. The remnants of last nights ruined make up don't help matters either. Suddenly there is the sound of someone opening the blinds and a flash of daylight directly into her face. Gabi instantly reacts by groaning and covering her face with the blankets.
”Sweet baby Jesus on fire... Why is the sun so loud?”
Gabi's muffled replies come out from the mound of blankets. Her Mother, Cheri Fields-Visconty, takes a seat on the edge of her bed. The resemblance between Gabi and her Mother is undeniable, only her Mother has a strawberry blonde hair color to Gabi's blonde.
”Rise and shine.”
Gabi's Mother coos through a chuckle. Gabi appears to roll over but it is hard to be certain under her pile of blankets.
”I don't want to go to school, Mom. I don't feel good.”
Gabi mumbles as she jets and arm out of the mass of blankets to half-assedly swat at her Mother.
”It's a little after noon, Gabrielle. Do I have to get your dad to come in here and get you up?”
”Fuck...”
Gabi replies through a deep sigh as she lifts the blankets a bit to expose her face a little. She squints out at her Mother.
”Oh... I need pain killers... Lot's of pain killers. My head is pounding.”
”Do you remember anything from last night?”
Gabi's Mother asks, a slight amused tone in her voice.
”I remember fighting with some girl with horse teeth...”
”Hank brought you home.”
Gabi groans as she rolls over onto her back and presses her hands over her eyes.
”Oh... no... I puked on Hank.”
”And in his car.”
Gabi doesn't reply, she keeps her hands over her eyes.
”You need to call him today and apologize. You were quite belligerent when her brought you to the door. Not to mention your Dad and Hank had a, well, a moment at the front door.”
”What? Why?”
”Let's see... You were yelling at him as he brought you to the door. What would you expect? Your Daughter is at the front door in the middle of the night screaming at a guy to 'let go of me'. I thought your Dad was going to kill him.”
”Oh, God.”
”Luckily your Dad recognized Hank. Still, I haven't seen your Dad that worked up in a long time. And then you tried to punch him.”
”Hank?”
”No, your Dad.”
Gabi chuckles a bit at that comment.
”Is the damn idjit awake?”
A male voice asks from somewhere else in the house.
”Yes. Bring some Tylenol and a bottle water for your Princess.”
Cheri smiles down at Gabi. Gabi shoots her the 'stank-eye' before rolling back over and pulling the blankets back over her head.
”You should get up and get a shower. You smell terrible and look even worse.”
”Thanks, Mom.”
Gabi's reply is loaded with sarcasm and the image fades out. The image fades back in on Gabi sitting at a table inside her parents home. She has a glazed looked in her eyes as she stares at the cup of coffee in front of her. Her Dad, the man known as the 'Pied Piper' Kirk Visconty sits across from her. Kirk sits with his arms folded across his chest and a slight cheeser grin on his face.
”So what did ya learn from last night?”
Gabi sighs and does her best to avoid looking at her Father.
”Do we have to do this?”
”I wouldn't expect to have this conversation with my 21 year old Daughter... But here we are. I understand, I really do. You are 21, making great money, finally getting that shot at the big time. I walked the same path when I was your age.”
”Sassy?”
Kirk cringes and there is a loud bang as someone slams something off camera. Gabi purses her lips and fights off a giggle. Kirk looks across the table at Gabi, whispering.
”You really, really, really don't want to set your Mother off right now. So chill out with the Summer Kensington crap.
Gabi nods as Kirk looks quickly back over his shoulder, looking like he expected his Wife to be standing behind him. He sighs a breath of relief and looks back to Gabi.
”I did crazy things... But I learned from them and moved on. I didn't put my career in jeopardy by getting into drunken brawls in the middle of the night.”
”That's not what Wayne told me.”
Kirk shoots Gabi a perturbed stare after she replies.
”You are going to trust a drunk like Harrison?”
”If you didn't trust Wayne why did you let me go train with him and Quinn?”
”I didn't let you 'train' with Quinn. I let you train with Wayne. Okay, okay... Maybe I did have a few late night drunken brawls... Mostly because of Wayne, but that isn't the point. The point is you need to realize you are representing the EWC as well as yourself. They took a big gamble on you... Don't let them down. They expect big things from you. Hell, I expect big things from you.”
”I know.”
Gabi replies in a defeated tone, looking down at her coffee again.
”So quit sitting there like a whipped dog... You need to call Hank and see if you two are still on speaking terms, and then hit the gym.
”I don't feel like working out today.”
”And that is exactly why you need to do it. Do I need to call Wayne and get one of his famous hangover remedies?”
They both share a giggle as Gabi shakes her head 'no'.
”I don't even want to know.”
Cheri walks into the shot and takes a seat next to Kirk. She pats Kirk on the shoulder as Gabi sips at her coffee.
”You better get a move on, girl. You've wasted half the day.”
Gabi nods and pulls her cell out of her pocket. The image fades as she starts thumbing through her phonebook.
