Quite possibly 2 am Tokyo time? The music: “I FINK U FREEKY” by Die Antwoord. Inside the club WOMB, downtown Tokyo – 3F VIP Terrace. The music is overbearing, the light show is damn near over-the-top seizure level, as the image fades in on Gabrielle Visconty. Gabi is still dressed in a black dress. She is laughing and swaying to the beat of the music, leaning on the railing that over looks the dance floor on the ground floor of the club. Gabi is in a small pack of people... Maybe she has been recognized as a EWC Superstar, or maybe just being one of a handful of American girls in the building has garnered her the attention. Gabi finishes off the last of her Lemon Sour. She turns, wading through the crowd, heading back towards the bar area. She reaches the bar, flashes a huge grin at the bartender as she sets her empty glass on the bar-top. He nods and turns around to work on her next drink. Suddenly a female grabs her from behind in a bear hug, kissing her on the neck. Gabi, obviously caught off guard and a bit startled, shrugs the person off and turns to face them, hands balled into fists. The “WTF?” look on her face quickly changes to excitement.
”Izumi!! Kijo!!”
Gabi screams before the two girls embrace. Gabi pulls away, clutching the girls hands as she leans back, grinning happily.
”Gabi!! Tenshi!!”
The girl now known as Izumi replies, slight Japanese accent, but same tone of excitement in her voice as Gabi's. Izumi grins back at Gabi and they hug again.
”God, it's been at least a year since I last saw you! I was so glad to hear you made a full recovery from your injuries, Izumi.”
”Two surgeries and countless hours of physical therapy. My wrestling career is most likely finished, but at least I can walk normally again. It's great to see... you doing well in the EWC.”
The hesitation in Izumi's voice causes Gabi's grin to fade slightly. Glory walks over, motioning to the bartender for a reload of her drink. She stands next to Gabi and looks Izumi over.
”Who is this?”
Gabi glances over to Glory before replying.
”Glory, this is my tag team partner from my indy days: Izumi Oshiro. Better known as Kijo Izumi, or our Tag Team name: Junsui/Jaaku.”
”Pure or genuine... and Evil? Pure/Evil, right?”
”Hai.”
”Yep.”
Both Gabi and Izumi reply at the same time. Glory takes her drink, as well as Gabi's, from the bartender and heads out towards the dancing, seeming suddenly bored with the conversation. She motions at both of them as she walks away.
”Let's dance! These guys aren't going to entertain themselves long, girls.”
”Just a sec, I wanna catch up with Izumi for a few.”
”More guys for me then.”
Glory grins wickedly at them before turning and slipping back into the crowd. Gabi grabs Izumi by the hand and pulls her off to a table at the side of the terrace.
”How have you been? It's soooo good to see you again, Izumi. I am so happy to see you walking again.”
Gabi tells Izumi as they take a seat. Izumi smiles softly at Gabi as she replies.
”It's good to see you, Gabi. I do have to say I am a bit jealous of your rise to the EWC.”
Her tone has the edge of bitterness to it.
”I came to visit you twice. Your family wouldn't let me in to see you.”
Gabi's grins fades to a serious expression as she speaks. There is a brief moment of silence between the two before Izumi speaks.
”They did not approve of my career choice from the beginning... Then when I got injured, they just wanted to shelter me from it. They gave me a forty percent chance of walking again, Gabi... You understand how hard that was for me to hear, let alone my family?”
”You never replied to my txt or social media, Izumi. I thought you may have blamed me for your accident.”
”I tried, but I couldn't ever convince myself it was your fault. You didn't split us up, the management did. You were the American girl, the Angel. The fans wanted to see you... I was just another Japanese girl, the Kijo.”
Gabi shakes her head slightly before replying.
”We were a team... I expected them to pair us back up, but your accident stopped that. You never replied to anything I sent your direction, and then the EWC called.”
”I don't blame you Gabi. I would have done the same thing if the situation was reversed. I do some modeling now... My parents approve of it more than wrestling.”
Izumi's reply lacks enthusiasm. Gabi frowns for a moment, then a slight mischievous smile creeps onto her face. Izumi, knowing her old tag partner, looks questioningly at Gabi.
”What?”
”I have comped seats for Stranglemania - They are yours, but on one condition.”
”What about your parents? Don't they come and watch you wrestle?”
”No. My dad can't do it, he feels like he should come down and hop in the ring. Save his little girl, or some heroic shit like that.”
Gabi laughs as Izumi smiles.
”What is the condition?”
”I need a manager and I think that you'd be great at it. Come to the event, watch the show, make up your mind on it later.”
Izumi grins as she thinks on it, then her expression darkens a bit.
”Gabi, I don't think I can. I mean, I am not sure if my parents wo...”
Gabi cuts her off before she can finish.
”Take the tickets and think on it... after the show. No pressure. If you want in, let me know and I will get you in.”
”There is a lot to think on...”
Gabi nods, smirk on her face.
”You in, Kijo?”
Izumi looks down at the table a moment and then, after a few seconds nods slightly. She looks up at Gabi, electric look in her eyes and grinning.
”Hai, Tenshi... I am.”
Gabi slaps the table and grins broadly, desperately trying to contain her excitement.
”I'll email you the tickets.”
Gabi begins pecking away at her phone as Izumi watches. In the background we can see Glory heading back towards the table, a guy in tow on each arm. The image fades as Glory and her men reach the table.
”Izumi!! Kijo!!”
