NEW YORK - Extreme Wrestling Corporation President, Danny Mac, has confirmed that the EWC has signed five-year contracts with four different networks. The deals begin immediately but wont be airing any new programming until September.
The EWC has signed deals with FX, HBO, The CW and Showtime, while also extending contracts with TSN, SkySports and Netflix. The monumental moves will see new homes for all four shows as Monday Night Brawl moves to FX, Friday Night Rampage moves to HBO, FutureStars moves to The CW and EWC PRIME lands at Showtime.
All four shows will also air on TSN 1-4 in Canada, SkySports internationally, and of course EWCTV and streaming on the EWC Network. Netflix has expanded its relationship with the EWC and will air episodes of BRAWL, RAMPAGE, FSW and PRIME a week after they air on live television as well as work with the EWC in developing new content.
President Mac released the following statement:
We are incredibly excited to continue to grow the EWC brand. It was important to me, to broaden our viewership and work with those who share similar goals as us. I am eager to work with the fine people at FX, HBO, The CW and Showtime, as well as continuing to grow our relationship with Netflix, TSN and Skysports. I appreciate the hard-work our show-runners and GM's have been doing, this deal could not have been done if it wasn't for the product they've been putting out, delivering incredible numbers but more importantly, outstanding content. So while we say goodbye to our long time friends at ESPN, Spike and TNT .. we are incredibly grateful for the last several years spent working with them, and we ambitiously look forward to our new relationships. The future is certainly very bright and I couldn't be more happy or excited.
Certainly very exciting times for all in the EWC. It will be interesting to see how, if any, changes we will see to the broadcasting of the live EWC events moving forward.
