Brief Explanation of Character's Gimmick: Skittles-fuelled, attention-deficient fourth-generation superstar of a legendary lucha libre family from which his villainous uncle has long since ostracized him, El Pablo is a man hoping to win his way back into that familial fold by carrying the Volando brand of chaos to the very top of the professional wrestling mountain. Assuming nothing distracts him first.
Ring Attire: Luchador mask with "squirrel" ears and faux-fur accents; forearm sleeves over elbow pads; full-length tights with feather boa belt and faux-fur covered boots; all very brightly-coloured, with both his mask and tights featuring a rainbow-hued variation of the Shinijoshi 四 logo.
Backstage Attire: Luchador mask with "squirrel" ears and faux-fur accents; brightly-coloured track pants and either a basketball jersey or hoodie depending on the temperature, decorated with the Shinijoshi 四 logo.

THEME SONG & ENTRANCE
Theme Music: 'Party Hard' – Andrew W.K.
SHORT ENTRANCE: A cry of “VIVA LA RAINBOWLUTION!!!” leads to ‘Party Hard’ by Andrew WK hitting the soundsystem and the stage and ringside area being bathed in flashing, flickering, brightly-coloured lighting. As the main hook hits, El Pablo bursts through the curtain, playing to the fans and chugging Skittles like a Steveweiser as his brother Vertigo follows slowly behind, stoic and silent. Pablo charges down the ramp and slides under the ropes into the ring, before running up the turnbuckle and tossing a couple of fistfuls of Skittles out into the adoring crowd as Vertigo belatedly takes up his position on the outside. After offering up a final salute, Pablo throws up the Shinijoshi double deuces then hops back down to the canvas, bumping fists with Vertigo and performing a few final stretches as his music fades.
MAIN EVENT / PPV ENTRANCE: A cry of "VIVA LA RAINBOWLUTION!!!" leads to 'Party Hard' by Andrew W.K. hitting the soundsystem and the stage and ringside area being bathed in flashing, flickering, brightly-coloured lighting. As the main hook hits, El Pablo bursts through the curtain, playing to the fans and chugging Skittles like a Steveweiser as his brother Vertigo follows slowly behind, stoic and silent.
The two pause at the top of the ramp, as Pablo throws a final helping of multicoloured candy pieces down his throat before flashing the Shinijoshi double deuces towards the camera and charging down the ramp towards the ring. He slides under bottom rope, then leaps in one smooth motion back to his feet before running up the turnbuckle and tossing a couple of fistfuls of Skittles out into the adoring crowd as Vertigo belatedly takes up his position on the outside. After offering up a final salute, Pablo throws the double deuces up again before hopping back down to the canvas, bumping fists with his brother and performing a few final stretches in the corner as his music fades.
PERFORMANCE INFORMATION
Tendency to Cheat (Delete ALL that do NOT apply):
- [x] Rarely - EP might bend or test the limits of the rules sometimes, but won't instigate any kind of outright cheating. He's not above looking to 'even the score' if he feels somebody's wronged him first, however.
Favorite Match Types: Hardcore matches, Multi-Person matches, Hardcore Multi-Person matches; any kind of stipulation or environment where there's chaos to be cultivated and weaponised.
Least Favorite Match Types: Iron Man matches, 2-out-of-3 Falls matches, Submission matches; any kind of stipulation with an emphasis on strategy and forethought.
[OPTIONAL] Favorite Weapon: A wheelbarrow filled with multiple brightly-coloured pinatas that might contain anything from broken glass and thumbtacks to Legos, Skittles or even dirty laundry.
Fighting Style: Lucha Libre, with a particular emphasis on improvisation and taking each fight move-by-move, moment-by-moment, as taught by his great-grandfather, legendary luchador Señor Volando. Acts largely on instinct and impulse, believing that, if even he doesn't know what his next move is going to be, his opponent has no chance of forecasting or countering it.
[CLICK HERE FOR IDEAS ON FIGHTING STYLE]
Ring Strategy: As detailed above, Pablo doesn't really 'do' strategy, preferring to fight in the moment; however, he will as a rule look to overwhelm his opponent(s) by disorientating them with his lucha libre offence, so expect a high tempo right from the opening bell, with plenty of springboarding and misdirection to try and keep his opponent(s) guessing.
In-Ring Strengths: Speed, Agility, Improvisation, Fortitude; an uncanny ability to survive either jumping or being thrown off of very high things and keep fighting (eg. mountains, buildings).
In-Ring Flaws: Focus, Forethought/Strategy, Strength/Power; generally speaking, the longer a match goes, the more likely EP is to have to rely on some kind of 'Hail Mary' counter to shift the momentum back in his favour.
WRESTLING INFORMATION
Pro Debut: Technically won his first match (and scored his first pinfall) in a tag(/handicap) match alongside his father, 'The Flying Kid' Chico Volando, at 2 years old; full-time professional debut in January 2008.

MINI BIOGRAPHY
Instincts. Moments. Chaos.
Three words upon which the great Volando family of Mexican lucha libre was founded, and three words that, at various points, have come to encapsulate the life and career of “The Technicolour Tecnico” El Pablo.
With such a proud lineage behind him, one might assume that Pablo’s route to the top of professional wrestling had been a relatively straightforward one. However, despite being the first-born son of ‘The Flying Kid’ Chico Volando - an icon of ‘80s wrestling who’d been one of the first Mexican luchadors to achieve mainstream success in the United States - the young Pablo’s training was instead entrusted to his uncle Villano - a violent and vengeful man who’d long been at odds with Chico over what he perceived to be the repeated sidelining of his own career and accomplishments. As a result, the ‘education’ to which Pablo was subjected was exceptionally brutal, with Villano appearing motivated far more by the intention of driving his nephew out of the wrestling business altogether than by offering any semblance of preparation for a career in it.
Despite Villano’s best efforts, however, Pablo survived - and, in fact, was able to channel the violence that he’d been forced to endure at his uncle’s hands into a successful early career on the ultraviolent circuit in the United States. It was here that Pablo first crossed paths with fellow future EWC superstars Ace King and Ruthless Aggression, two people who would go on to have a huge impact, both personally and professionally, across the ensuing years as their careers intertwined across various promotions.
Success continued to come Pablo’s way, as he forged a reputation as one of the most captivating and electrifying competitors in the industry - as well as receiving equal if not greater notoriety and attention for his increasingly madcap antics and adventures outside the squared circle - and cementing his status, despite everything that had happened in his past, as the true shining light of La Familia Volando. It wouldn’t last, however - one fateful night, at an independent show in the United Kingdom, another of Pablo’s prior ultraviolent scene acquaintances, Xavier Reid, shocked the world when he declared himself to be the illegitimate son of Chico Volando. It was a bombshell designed to blow the Volando family apart - and, in the ensuing chaos, Villano seized his opportunity to reassert his control, leading a violent coup against El Pablo that ended with the Tecnico being buried and left for dead in the New Mexico desert.
Just as he had the first time around, however…El Pablo survived, and - having initially elected to keep a low profile back on the independent scene - it wasn’t long before he garnered the attention of the EWC, who signed the Tecnico up to be a member of the roster for the company’s fledgeling PRIME brand in late 2017. Despite a couple of early missteps against Diabhal and Candy, Pablo soon took to his new surroundings, and was even able to end the year with gold around his waist when he defeated Honey Hunt and Stitches in a ladder match for the Indy Championship at WrestleFest XV.
As the 2018 season loomed, then, things appeared to be looking right back up for the man now declaring himself ‘The Leader of the Rainbowlution.’ More history would follow at StrangleMania XIII in March, when Pablo became the first member of the PRIME roster to compete in the main event of EWC’s flagship PPV for the Undisputed Championship; however, that same night would also see him drop the Indy Championship back to Stitches in a physically and psychologically-harrowing Monsters Ball match, the toll of which - in conjunction with the continued threat of renewed hostilities with his Villano-led Familia - would lead to an extended period of personal and professional strife for the Technicolour Tecnico.
2019 saw a marked statistical improvement, as EP was able to achieve ten victories in a single EWC season for the first time. However, a sobering defeat to Xavier in PRIME’s inaugural G1 tournament, as well as further defeats to nemeses Stitches, Nevaeh and Candy, prevented him from building any real momentum across the season, leaving Pablo feeling at somewhat of a crossroads as the year came to a close.
As the 2020 season kicked off, that crossroads immediately became a cliff, as defeats to Killjoy Ito and Dominic Sanders saw Pablo elect to take almost the whole rest of the year off in an attempt to heal those psychological wounds that had been weighing on him since StrangleMania XIII.
On the eve of the start of the 2021 season, Pablo opted to locate to more orange pastures, swapping the blue of PRIME for the newly-rechristened Paramount brand. It was a decision that would prove to completely revolutionise the Tecnico’s career, as victories over old foes Candy and Killjoy Ito kickstarted a renaissance that ultimately led to him facing off with Stitches once again; this time for the X-Division Championship at Rumble XVIII. After a typically-brutal encounter, El Pablo emerged victorious, channelling that same sense of perseverance and resilience that had seen him survive his uncle’s abuse as a trainee and bring his career full circle to stand as the king of the ultraviolent scene once again.
That wouldn’t be the only success that EP enjoyed that year, either, as he reunited with old friend Ace King to capture the Tag Team Championships from old family friends, the Southern Express, at the culmination of the EWC’s Super 16 Tag Tournament.
While that tag title reign, sadly, wouldn’t see out 2021’s end, EP’s reign as X-Division Champion went from strength to strength as the 2022 season got underway. Having successfully defended the belt against four opponents at WrestleFest XIX, Pablo would go on to retain it against Darius at StrangleMania XVII and ‘Headhuntress’ Aiya at WorldWide IV, before setting his sights on breaking the 287-day championship record of ‘Nurse’ Harlow Kinsley; a record that had stood unchallenged since 2016. On July 11th, at Brawl #585, Pablo battled fellow former Indy Champion Dio to a draw, securing his fourth successful defence and finally establishing himself as the longest-reigning X-Division Champion in EWC history.
Still, somehow, better was arguably to come. At Night of Champions XIX, Pablo shocked the world by overcoming seven other EWC champions inside the infamous Insanity Cage, booking himself a shot at the Undisputed Championship at WrestleFest XX.
Further X-Division defences against King Flip and Dio followed - securing EP a further championship record - before the Rainbowlution and the season reached its conclusion: a four-way battle against Melody Malone, Killjoy (now Ibuki) Ito and Undisputed Champion Lavender at the EWC’s final PPV of the season. The match was a shockingly violent affair, with Malone in particular appearing to deliberately induce a seizure on the epileptic Lavender before later stabbing Pablo in the chest with the end of a broken light tube. Controversial tactics, to be sure - but ultimately successful, as the self-anointed Queen of the EWC ultimately pinned El Pablo to secure her third reign with the gold.
That proved to be, if not the end of Pablo's surge to the top, at least the signal for the return of a little turbulence to the Tecnico's technicolour waters, as the 2023 season saw him fall at the first hurdle of the EWC's Legends of the Ring tournament before seeing his record-breaking X-Division reign finally brought to an end by Xavier at StrangleMania XVIII. He did finally get the one-on-one shot at the Undisputed Championship that his Insanity Cage victory had initially promised, but a losing effort to then-champion Narumi Tsutsumi at WorldWide V looked to have scuppered any hope of La Rainbowlution securing that golden throne for itself.
However, the season would still ultimately end on a positive note for La Familia Volando, as Pablo's younger brother Vertigo would enter the company officially to bring the pair's Silent Discotecnicos tag-team to the mainstream - a move that paid off almost immediately, as they defeated the Heat Packers at WrestleFest XXI to become the EWC Tag-Team Champions.
In the off-season, both Pablo and Vertigo were invited to join famed EWC stable the Shinijoshi as part of their ongoing war with the House...and it's here that we now find ourselves; the EWC teetering ever more precariously on the precipice of civil war...and La Rainbowlution standing on the front line.
New scores to settle.
New history to be made.
