Brief Explanation of Character's Gimmick: Former all-round good guy wrestler, now a disgruntled veteran seeking to prove that heroism is dead in pro wrestling. Time away from the ring has reforged his idealism into misguided righteousness.
In-Ring Strengths: Experienced, Intelligent, Adaptable. Keaton's been in tough situations before and knows how to crawl out.
In-Ring Flaws: Spiteful, Proud/Self-Important, Obsessive. Keaton wants to win in the way he designs, so this can send him to defeat.
Ring Attire: Keaton wrestles in relatively plain attire. Black wrestling boots with a royal blue trim, black (or otherwise dark) jeans with a discreet belt buckle. Sometimes wearing a plain tanktop, sometimes not. Sometimes wearing merch from his opponent that has been 'altered' in some way, sometimes not. Black elbow pads and wrist tape finish the look.
Backstage Attire: Worryingly close to the Hipster Lumberjack look. Lots of plaid overshirts on plain undershirts, graphic tees as an excuse to platform current events (in EWC or otherwise), denim including but not limited to trendy ripped jeans, comfortable shoes/Converse flats and a fantastic beard.
THEME SONG & ENTRANCE
Theme Music: 'The Wicked & The Cursed' – The Cold Stares
SHORT ENTRANCE: The arena lights begin to flash in tune to the drums as "The Wicked and The Cursed" by The Cold Stares plays throughout the arena. As the guitar rhythm plays, James Keaton makes his presence known by appearing at the top of the entrance ramp. Keaton begins cracking his knuckles in a slow and methodical way before walking with purpose to the ring. Keaton takes his time using the steps to enter the ring before leaning against the ropes and testing their strength.
MAIN EVENT / PPV ENTRANCE: Write it exactly how you want it to be posted, in present tense to fit the show format. If you don’t want a fuller/longer entrance, feel free to skip this.

MINI BIOGRAPHY
James Keaton made his professional debut in 2008, wrestling under the name of Keaton Saint in international tournaments and honing his craft in the UK Independent scene. In 2009, Keaton began making sporadic appearances in the US as well as continuing his tournament appearances. Keaton would take a sabbatical from the ring before returning at the beginning of 2011 and continuing his journey across the US Independent scene.
2012 marked the beginning of Keaton's proper run with Action Packed Wrestling, initially wrestling on Overdrive before moving to the Asylum brand. Keaton retired in 2013, citing nagging injuries across his career. Keaton would appear at the 2015 APW Reunion and would have a short run in Four Corners Wrestling during 2017, but he has not been seen in the ring under any guise since then.
In 2021, James Keaton entered the EWC and Paramount Wrestling with a marked change in demeanour. The former ‘Patron Saint’ eschewed his former self to speak of breaking the “cycle” of Professional Wrestling. In time, fans and wrestlers alike would be made aware of the man who had now anointed himself ‘The Wicked’.
Keaton’s attempt to ignore the need for victory and competition would be tested early on, as his desire for both of these things began returning to the forefront. Indeed, a victory against Jason Hunter (at Uprising 2021) would be a catalyst for the man who claimed he would initiate change in the EWC.
We would learn shortly afterwards the truth behind Keaton’s arrival. Rather than breaking the “cycle” of wrestling, Keaton had come to the EWC to find the one responsible for burning down his independent wrestling school in 2020. Keaton had used his modest retirement income to fund the project and was left without many options as a result. Joining the EWC served two purposes, covering the debt and finding out who put him in this tenuous position in the first place.
Wrestling for Paramount helped Keaton narrow down potential perpetrators, however, in direct opposition to his inittal beliefs Keaton understood that embracing the competition and aiming for power in the EWC would be the only way he could truly find some answers. An ill-advised attempt to circumvent events during Parabellum failed to solve the problem, and a short-term tag team with Adriana Aquilla was unable to contend with the storied companionship of the Southern Express.
However, Adriana Aquilla would prove to be the springboard in other ways. Keaton and Aquilla had been at odds since Keaton’s debut and it was only a matter of time before they collided in the ring. The match (at Paramount 12) would serve as the battleground, giving Keaton his first singles victory since April and his first championship in the EWC (previous CW Broadcast Champion David Miller vacated the title upon winning the North American Championship).
The victory over Aquilla on the 6th October would serve to reinvigorate Keaton for the remainder of the year, defending the CW Broadcast Championship a further three times before the end of the year. WrestleFest XIX would serve to end Keaton’s year with a loss, ensuring he would not be following the path of David Miller at the beginning of 2022. Keaton would instead use the four-day event to try and find the answers to his ‘burning’ questions. His attempt to do this was stopped by the actions of incoming 2022 NextGen star Jocelyn Gage, operating under the instructions of Keaton’s former manager John Gainsborough.
Gainsborough would provide Keaton with a larger view on the situation and a shocking revelation. In 2022, James is faced with a choice. Pursue the petty feuds he has built up over the last season or uncover the mystery of why he came to the EWC in the first place…
