"Lace Em Up" by Deraj blasts in the Arena
The show starts off with video footage detailing historic events over Monday Night BRAWL's history.
From episode 001 in 1997 all the way down to the last episode #572 in Houston.
Images of previous EWC Champions are shown, starting with the very first Champion Black Ninja, then moving onto Big Mac and Steve Bennett. Sped up footage then shows a special montage of Memphis Reigns, Shadow Man, Hirsh Valentine, Jesse Nunez, Hurricane Jeff, Moses Lake, James Chambers, BDC, Jay Cee, Stray, Gladiator, The Rev, Ruthann Hunter, Ashton Drake and then Xplode all with the EWC Championship.
From there we look at the dawning of the Undisputed Championship as we know it today, from Xplode defeating Shadow Man to unify the belts to footage of the men and women of BRAWL who have held the illustrious title including Ashton Drake, Candy, Dominic Sanders, Cyrus Black, and Xavier Reid, before ending on the current champion Ace King.
Sped up footage then takes us through to current Monday Night BRAWL Superstars: Xavier Reid, Gabrielle Visconty, Callie Clark, Noah Hartt, King Flip, Zack Tyler, Jack Severn, Mio Yoshino, Hazel Overton, Darius, Tyler Bradford, and others making their way onto the red brand.
We then get a shot of the Champions of BRAWL:
Nightcall with the FX Broadcast Championship
Xavier Reid with the EWC International Championship
The opening pyros blast across the stage and here we go.

Aiello: Hello folks, and welcome to Monday Night BRAWL! I'm Joe Aiello alongside Hall of Famer Steve Bennett, and tonight is our final stop for the red brand on the road to Night of Champions XVIII! Things have been relatively quiet backstage tonight, with the understanding that our International Champion is off training for the Insanity Cage main event!
Bennett: I know! Tommy Love isn't around blabbing his mouth every second! It's...weird, Joe.
Aiello: What we do have for you is an exciting night of in-ring action, all leading to our main event! It's the quarterfinals of the Super 16 Tag Team Tournament, as the Heavenly Treats of Candy and Gabi Vee take on the Flip and Jack Connection in what has been a very curious road for both teams!
Bennett: Seriously, Joe! Xtreme Ravagers thought they had that match WON, but Candy shocked the world when she pinned Reid right in the middle of that ring! Plus, we saw an upset from the reluctant pairing of King Flip and Jack Severn when they beat Damage Incorporated! I'm still in shock, I tells ya!
Aiello: We also have interbrand warfare as our FX Broadcast Champion looks to defend the honor of the red brand, when he takes on PRIME's Narumi Tsutsumi! She's the holder of the PRIMEtime Briefcase and looks to make a statement tonight here on BRAWL!
Bennett: It boggles the damn mind how we got here, Joe, but if Nightcall can beat that lady tonight I'll be happy as a damn mule!
Aiello: Nightcall will have to keep his eye on the two men in the contest before that, however, because Tyler Bradford and Darius face off to see who earns an opportunity at the FX Championship at Night of Champions!
Bennett: Tyler's gotta mind to impress in just his second outing on the red brand, while Darius looks to get right back into a title picture upon his return!
Aiello: We round out the action with Hazel Overton taking on Antoni Malietoa, who's been on a tear as of late...and in our opening contest, we see Zack Tyler take on Mio Yoshino! It'll be a fun night ahead of us, and we will see that opening match when we come back from this word from EWCTV!

[SINGLES MATCH]
Zack Tyler
VS Mio Yoshino
VS Mio Yoshino
Back from commercial, we return to ringside where we find Joe Aiello and Steve Bennett behind the announcers table.
Aiello: Alright, starting things off tonight we have Zach Tyler going up against Mio Yoshin in what will certainly be an exciting match up.
Bennett: Mio had a shot at last Brawl to beat Nightcall...and lost. Zack went up against Hazel Overton...and lost. I am not feeling as ‘optimistic’ as you are heading into this match, Joe.
Aiello: Well, aren’t you a ray of sunshine tonight?
Bennett: Just calling it like I see it… Like I always do.
Aiello: As much as I would enjoy debating you this early in the show, it looks like Jessica is in the ring and ready to get the show rolling.
Bennett: Thank God.
Stroup: The following match is scheduled for one fall. Joining us first, from Nashville, Tennessee, weighing in at 175 pounds ... ZACH TYLER!
The lights go dark as an image of Zack in seen backstage. By now on the entrance stage, fog machines are covering the platform. He stares into the camera with a deep soul stare before the camera fades. Just before the camera cuts off, a quick glimpse of a Red circle with a Red Left hand palm print is seen. Zack's [3:14] music then plays. At the [:17] mark, a Red flash of light illuminates the entrance stage and again at the [:20] mark. At the [:27] mark, Zack rolls out slowly on a skateboard dressed in a Black full length coat with his arms folded over his chest. As he approaches the ring, the skateboard rolls under the ring as he rolls under the bottom rope onto his stomach. The ringside camera catches an up-close image of Zack as he smiles and blood protrudes from his mouth down his chin. Slithering into the corner, he grabs the ropes and pulls himself up to his feet, removing his coat. His music by now has looped or replayed until he folds his hands together as if praying. His eyes roll in the back of his head and the lights come up to normal.
Stroup: And his opponent, from Nagoya, Japan, weighing in at 135 pounds ... MIO YOSHINO!
Mio walks out with her head down when half of the first verse is completed, and waits at the center of the stage. “So Come On!” The words ring throughout the stadium and the pyro lights up, Mio’s head snapping up and her arms opening wide as she stomps forward and lets out a strong cry. She wears a smirk under her mask as the initial pop has been made, and saunters down the ramp while clutching her leather jacket. She reaches the ring and climbs up the turnbuckle, taking off her mask and tossing it to the side.
DING DING DING
The bell has barely hit it’s third ring as Zack dashes across the ring and catches an unready Mio off guard at the sudden start. Zack drives in with a jumping knee strike that sends Mio backing into the corner. Zack quickly follows it up with a European Uppercut, once again driving Mio back into the corner. Zack hip tosses Mio out of the corner and chases her in, pulling her back to her feet by her hair. Mio bats Zack’s hands out of her hair and she follows it up with a roundhouse kick to the ribs. Zach staggers back a bit and Mio follows him, sending in a knife edge chop that echoes through the arena. Zack fires back with a lariat but Mio slips under it and dashes into the ropes and springboards off with a spinning wheel kick. Mio quickly rolls Zack up for the pin attempt as the ref slides in with the count.
1…
2. Zack gets a shoulder up!
Aiello: Wow, Mio nearly getting the quick win there but Zack still has plenty of fight left in him!
Bennett: Mio's gonna have to do a lot more to take that guy down!
Mio slides off Zack and waits for him to stand. Mio steps in with a roundhouse kick as Zack stands, but Zack ducks it and drops Mio to the mat with a strong Russian leg sweep. Mio goes to roll away but Zack is on her, dropping an elbow between her shoulder blades. Zack tries to mount a cobra clutch submission but Mio slips out the back door. Both opponents are up and now eyeing each other. They go to tie up and Zack sends Mio to the mat with a deep arm drag. They both hop back up and go to lock up again, only this time it is Mio sending Zack to the mat with an arm drag. They go to lock up again and Zack stops Mio with a straight right hand to the mouth. He quickly follows it up with a Michinoku Driver - sit-out scoop slam piledriver. Zack hooks her legs and the ref slides in with the count.
1…
2…
3 - NO!! Last second kick out by Mio. Zack is furious with the ref, screaming about a slow count.
Aiello: Close call there by Zack Tyler, but Mio's not down and out yet!
Bennett: Do your damn job ref, make the count!
The ref tells Zack it was just a two count. Zack shoves the ref away from him in disgust. Mio is up to one knee as Zack suddenly turns and fires off a spinning heel kick towards Mio, his finisher 666, only Mio barely moves at the last second. Zack over rotates and Mio hops on him, locking on the Living Chain - Octopus hold! Zack is screaming in pain as Mio really torques in the hold. The ref checks on Zack, but he is shaking his head NO. Zack tries to move towards the ropes but Mio keeps the hold locked on. Zack stretches his hand out towards the ropes as he continues to get closer. Mio slips Zack’s arm behind her own head and leans into the hold. Zack has no choice as he is twisted in such an unnatural position - he taps out!
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via submission from the Living Chain, MIO YOSHINO!
Mio drops the hold and rolls away from a clearly pissed off Zack. He starts towards her but the ref stops him. Mio raises her arm in victory as Zack is ushered out of the ring.
Aiello: Just when Zack started to turn the tables, Mio catches him with that nasty submission hold. He tried to hold out as long as he could, but in the end he couldn’t escape and had to tap.
Bennett: Zack put up one hell of a fight, but one slip was all it took to cost him the match.
Aiello: Mio picks up a win to help get back into the thick of things as we roll on, with Hazel Overton taking on Antoni Malietoa up next!
Before we get to that, however, it seems we have some commotion going on backstage...
The Xtron lights up to show Gabrielle Visconty walking out of the Heavenly Treats locker room.
Candy: Don’t forget the caramel corn or my KitKat!
Candy calls from inside the locker room.
Visconty: I won’t.
Gabi laughs as she shuts the door. She walks down the hallway until she encounters Bob Murry. He smiles at Gabi as she walks up.
Murray: Gabi, how are you feeling about the odds of the Heavenly Treats getting past the Flip & Jack Connection tonight?
Visconty: I’d say they are about as good as Flip and Jack actually cutting a promo that was worth watching. Those two asshats come out and claim that they were putting in the work at Parasmellum? Please, Jack got knocked out of that match so fast, it had to be some kind of record. And Flip claiming that Candy is carrying me? Come on… Maybe because Candy has beat his ass two times, while I have only beaten his ass once this season has led him to mistakenly… aw, who am I kidding, he is a damn idjit!
Murray: If the Heavenly Treats win tonight, how far do you think you two will go in the tourney?
Gabi shrugs her shoulders slightly.
Visconty: Hard saying. I’d like to say we end up facing making it to the finals, but I don’t want to seem too cocky. Candy and I are working well as a team and every match gets us that much more in synch with each other.
Murray: Any belt plans for Gabi Vee? Outside of the Tag Tourney?
Gabi rubs her chin as she thinks on it for a moment.
Visconty: I’d love nothing more than getting another shot at the International title, or even the Undisputed title. With Night of the Champions coming up, the Champion picture could look very different very soon.
Murray: How about Stephanie Matsuda? Any plans on getting some revenge on that loss and the injury she gave you?
Visconty: I try not to think about the Cloud Queen too much. If she is put in my way, yeah. Would I sink as low as she did and look to injure her? No. I’m better than that. I’ve never felt the need to injure someone in the ring to make a statement. She obviously did, and it was all for nothing. She lost to Ace and got knocked out of the contendership list as fast as Jack Severn got eliminated at Parabellum… maybe faster.
Murray: What are your thoughts on Darius coming back to Brawl.
Gabi rolls her eyes and chuckles slightly.
Visconty: I know they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Darius did just that. He talked a great big load of shit about me leaving for Brawl, then what did he do? He left for Paramount. Now he has followed me back to Brawl. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. But, as much as I would like to see Darius fall into a running woodchipper, he picked a better team for Parabellum than Flip did.
Gabi grins as she places her hands on her hips.
Visconty: I hate to say it, but Brawl needs someone like Darius. If making Flip the team captain of Brawl at Parabellum didn’t scream that enough…
Murray: Callie Clark is ba--
Visconty: No.
Gabi replies quickly.
Visconty: Just don’t even go there. She looks great on Gambit. Great place for her. Too bad Peach Gelato didn’t pin her...
Murray: Well, what is your current take on the status of Brawl?
Visconty: Bob, Brawl needed help at the start of the year and it still does. Candy came to Brawl, and that was a big help, but I fumbled the ball and dropped the International title to Xavier Reid… And he’s done such a fine job of promoting the brand since he’s been champ. Just listen to him talk about it… because that is all he has done - talk. Matsuda fumbled her chances at the Undisputed title and has done nothing since. I’ve been injured for two and a half months. At least Bosa and Nightcall have made the FX Championship look good this season.
Murray: Any last words before your match tonight against the Flip & Jack Connection?
Visconty: Come by and interview the Heavenly Treats before our next match in this tourney, Bob.
Gabi winks at him as she finishes speaking.
Visconty: But as far as Brawl in general, I promised I would help lift this brand back, up and I am still going to do it. Be it as the Heavenly Treats capture the Tag Team titles, or I challenge for the International title and win it back, or I put my name back on the Undisputed challenger list. I took the two and a half months off and let my knee heal up right so I could continue my promise. I’m back and I feel good. Now it’s time to put that promise back in motion. And speaking of motion, I gotta get a move on and get Candy her snacks.
Gabi pats Bob on the shoulder before she moves on as we move to a commercial break.
Back from commercial, we find ourselves inside the office of BRAWL General Manager Jim Connors, who looks a bit frustrated as he speaks to someone on the phone.
Connors: Right, I understand, but Night of Champions is coming up and...
Jim stops, letting out a sigh before nodding in response to whatever it is being told to him.
Connors: I know, I know. Yes, I'll make the arrangements necessary. Thank you for your time.
He ends the call when the door to the office opens, revealing his assistant Timothy Kahrs who walks in with a couple folders.
Kahrs: Sir, the info you requested.
Tim sets the folders down, giving Jim a chance to open them and look through, flipping through the pages rather quickly before stopping with a look of horror on his face.
Connors: Tim, what the hell man!?
Tim gives his employer a look of confusion...which turns into a look of fear of his own as Connor pulls out a Joker card, the eyes scratched out and in bold, red letters...
SEE YOU SOON...
It quickly becomes apparent what this is a sign of, as we quickly cut to ringside for the next match...
THE BITCH GOES TO WAR AGAINST THE SAMOAN WARRIOR!
[SINGLES MATCH]
Hazel Overton
VS Antoni Malietoa
VS Antoni Malietoa
We return to ringside where a slightly perturbed Joe and Steve are standing by on commentary.
Aiello: Oh boyy, I think Stitches has finally made his presence known here on the red brand. Unfortunately we don't have much time to process that, as our next match of the night is Hazel Overton going up against Antoni Malietoa. Both of these two are coming off impressive victories at last Brawl.
Bennett: Seeing Hazel try to outwit Antoni is going to be interesting. Antoni just clobbered Darius, running his return to Brawl. While Hazel took out Zack Tyler.
Aiello: This is a hard match to pick a winner. Both of these two have momentum.
Stroup: The following match is scheduled for one fall. Joining us first, from London, England, weighing in at 137 pounds ... HAZEL OVERTON!
"Show Stopper" by Danity Kane begins to play as Hazel Overton steps out from behind the curtain with her publicist Amy Jonas right beside her. Hazel is showing her displeasure toward the audience as Amy is jotting down some things on her phone. Hazel slides into the ring and walks to the farthest corner and sits on top of it while waiting for her opponent.
Stroup: And her opponent, from Apia, Samoa, weighing in at 254 pounds ... ANTONI MALIETOA!
Fog engulfs the entrance ramp, highlighted by green lights as "Be Somebody" by Fort Minor begins to play throughout the arena. From the smoke emerges Antoni Malietoa with his eyes wide and arms out to his sides. As the fog clears, Antoni takes a step forward as he psychs himself up with a yell. Antoni makes his way to the ring, pulls himself up from the floor by the top rope and then steps over the top rope and into the ring as he prepares to do battle.
DING DING DING
Hazel slinks to the side as Antoni moves to the center of the ring. Antoni stares steel eyed on Hazel as she smiles devilishly at him. She fakes a charge in and Antoni doesn’t bite. A small smirk forms in the corner of his mouth and this infuriates Hazel. With a scream she dashes in. They go to lock up but Hazel rakes Antoni across the eyes. Antoni grabs his face as Hazle steps back and winds up a haymaker bitch slap that claps off like thunder in the arena. Hazle cackles as Antoni appears stunned and drops to one knee. Hazel winds up again only for Antoni to suddenly reach out and grab her by the throat. Hazle kicks her legs wildly as Antoni easily lifts her six inches up off the mat as he stands up. Huge choke slam! Hazel looks as if she’s had the air knocked out of her as Antoni stands back over her and roars down at her. He pulls her back to her feet and launches her halfway across the ring with a belly to belly suplex.
Aiello: Antoni showing a lot of strength early on, will Hazel be able to overcome it?
Bennett: When you freely call yourself a Bitch in public, you look to back a claim up with action Joe! I'm sure she'll be fine.
Antoni is back up and moving in on Hazel. She is slowly getting up as Antoni reaches her. He grabs her arm and looks to be going for an arm bar but Hazel stops him in his tracks with a low blow. Antoni howls as he doubles over, clutching at his family jewels. The Ref is quick to move in and warn Hazel of the illegal move. She smiles and gives the Ref a sly wink before turning back to Antoni and driving a knee into the side of his head. She follows it up with a double ax handle chop to the kidney area of Antoni. She backs up a few steps and drop kicks Antoni, sending him to the mat. She scrambles back to her feet and starts to lock Antoni into London Comes Calling - a Muta lock. Antoni makes a mad scramble for the ropes as Hazel locks in the hold. With one mighty heave Antoni grabs the bottom rope.
The Ref calls for the break of the hold, but Hazel refuses to let go.The Ref starts to count and Hazel releases at 2. Hazel slips away from Antoni as the Ref warns her once again. Antoni is back on his feet as Hazel ignores the Ref’s warnings again. She turns from the Ref just in time to see Antoni start to charge at her. She quickly grabs the Ref and shoves him in front of her, but Antoni hits the breaks, stopping just a few inches from the Ref, who looks like he might have just soiled himself. Antoni backs up from the Ref and shakes his head at Hazel. He motions for her to bring it and Hazel slowly moves forward. Right as Hazel and Antoni go to lock up Antoni shoots low, dropping Hazel with a double leg takedown. He quickly gets back to his feet and pulls her up and into a scoop powerslam. As he goes to grab her again, Hazel rolls away and out of the ring.
Aiello: Overton looking to catch a bit of a breather after that powerslam by Antoni!
Bennett: Of course! She's smart, Joe, she knows when the best time to strike will be!
Antoni watches as Hazel takes a moment to collect herself outside the ring. The Ref has started the count. Antoni steps away from the ropes to allow Hazel to come back in without the risk of being attacked. She smiles sarcastically at him before rolling under the bottom rope. Antoni allows her to stand up before he starts to close in. Hazel sees him coming and ducks back out through the ropes. Antoni backs off as the Ref steps in. Hazel takes this moment of distraction from the Ref and springboards off the top rope from the outside of the ring, right into a lariat from Antoni. He pulls her up off the mat and into Malosi - and evenflow DDT. Antoni hooks the leg as the Ref slides in for the count.
1…
2…
3!!!
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall... ANTONI MALIETOA!
The Ref raises Antoni’s arm in victory as Hazel rolls out of the ring. A look of pure disgust set firmly on her face as she makes her way to the back.
Aiello: She did everything in her power to win this match, just like she said she would do, but it just wasn’t enough to get past Antoni tonight.
Bennett: Antoni is far from a push over. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Hazel.
Aiello: I'm inclined to agree with you Steve, she's been steadily improving even in loss so things are looking up for her! Folks, when we come back we WILL find out who faces Nightcall at Night of Champions XVIII, when Tyler Bradford takes on Darius!
Before we get to that, though, it seems we have ANOTHER commotion backstage ...
Cameras SMASH CUT backstage where King Flip is seen closing a locker room door behind him. Bob Murray chimes in before you see him walk into the picture. The Benchmark of Brawl gives a forced groan slash sigh combination with an eyeroll to boot.
Bob Murray: Ladies and gentleman, I am here with the leader of the first team eliminated from Parabellum, one half of The Flip and Jack Connection... King Flip.
The angle panned backward as Murray slid into view. The King gives the interviewer a proud little smile.
King Flip: At least you're referencing a recent choke. Right here... IN HOTLANTA, GEORGIA.
The crowd goes wild. Meanwhile, the King gives a pat pat pat to the top of Murray's head. Bob is confused.
Bob Murray: What do you mean?
Big Flip Nasty shakes his very heartbroken head.
King Flip: What the fuck do you think I mean, Murr-ray? You've got Candy and Visconty over there and they had nothing new to say at all. Just some contrived, regurgitated bullshit about my failures. Barely fucking mention Jack at all other than an 'oh yeah, he sucks too.' They didn't even have the decency to come up with a reason as to why they were better than me. Or Jack. They just numbered off our setbacks. Fuck sake, at least Mercenary went the full-on Xavier Reid slash Undie champ route and detailed the shit against me. HELL, ONE OF THOSE DAMAGE BUTTS TOLD ME TO KILL MYSELF. But Candy and Visconty? Jesus, they couldn't even come up with an original fucking format for their dog water production. Pancakes, Bob? Fuck outta here with that.
The interviewer chimes in as if he were waiting for this zinger.
Bob Murray: You can't dispute the facts, Flip, and the facts are they've had your number every time.
Flip lips 'and?' to the camera before leaning in closer to Bob.
King Flip: Wanna know a funny thing about facts, Murr-ray?
Bob opens his mouth but Flip speaks just before he has the opportunity.
King Flip: Fact: I am a three-time World Tag Team Champion. Three time.
Bob Murray: Not here, but yes.
Flip rolls his eyes.
King Flip: Fact: I have shown my prowess in tag wrestling here on a small number of occasions. What's that tired shit they were saying? Can't trust each other? Xavier Reid and I didn't have to trust each other when we beat the living shit out of Racin' Tyme all those years ago. We were in the rumbling beginning stages of our Goddamn feud, Murr-ray, you know what the last thing we had for one another was?
Bob Murray: Tru-
Malicious animosity spews forth from the King as he shouts over the interviewer.
King Flip: FUCKING TRUST, BOB. Regardless, I know Jack Severn doesn't go out there and screw me because, right now, that shits on him too. Takes away the guaranteed title shot he and I have in the event we keep doing what the fuck we do best. Last thing Jack Severn would ever do is take his own Goddamn opportunity out from under himself. Doesn't make sense. And anyone who says otherwise is either too stupid to realize it or too dumb to care.
Bob Murray: Trust the process, then?
King Flip: Shut the fuck up, Murr-ray. Fact: When I pinned Xavier Reid MONTHS AGO at this point, that put me in line. Through all those failures they outlined, would you look at that, I'm still the number. one. contender. When Candy pinned Xavier Reid just last week... nobody gave a shit. Now, you can SAY 'oh, well, this is different' and I would be hard pressed to disagree with you.
Bob Murray: That's... all true.
King Flip: HOWEVER COMMA, the outcome of the situation remains the same. People can't help but harp on the time I didn't do well in some not-a-wrestling-match situation and think that somehow bothers me. Or that it's somehow relevant to their cause. Because it's all they have and, oh boy, how pathetic it looks the further we get FROM THE END OF GODDAMN MARCH. IT'S FUCKING AUGUST, MURR-RAY, AND THEY'RE STILL STUCK ON MARCH!?
Bob Murray: Well yeah, but-
King Flip: Look at the fucking outcome, Marr-ray. Tell me who looks better and who looks worse.
Murray waits for a second before retorting, tired of being interrupted and shut down.
Bob Murray: Well, there's certainly no lack of confidence from this camp. That's for sure. But can confidence be enough to take down a tag team that has well documented proof that both competitors can clench the win in the tough situations?
King Flip: I'm sorry. When I fought Callie Clark in Alcatraz, then fought Cain Brodie a handful of days later, the only performer in this company to do both Pay Per Views by the by, then humbled Mercenary only a slightly larger handful of days after that... was that not me clenching victory in tough situations? Back... to back... to fucking back?
Bob Murray: It has certainly looked like you've been an inch from death for some time now.
King Flip: AND YET... the train keeps rolling. Candy and Gabrielle have no idea what's about to hit them. After tonight... even the rest of the tag division won't hope but take notice... and respect... The Flip and Jack Connection. Now get the hell out of my face, I've got a Sloppy Toppy with my name on it.
Bob Murray: In the hallway? Jesus, back to you Aiello. I'm outta here.
The King takes a honk of a chonk out of the poorly named burger as Murray escapes. The camera pans in closer and closer to Flip's face before we move to a commercial break.
We come back from commercial to see footage from last night's GAMBIT, most notably after a quick victory for Callie Clark over Peach Gelato:
The referee counts the three count, and as the bell rings, Callie sits up on her knees with a blank stare on her face. Her face is frozen in a cold trance as she looks over at Peach. Peach is still trying to compose herself from Callie's finisher, and Callie calmly puts her hands around Peach's neck and begins to choke her! Peach starts clawing at Callie but Callie just keeps squeezing and squeezing as the referee tries to pull her off! Peach's eyes start to roll back, and Callie finally lets go, only to slide outside the ring. She looks under the ring, and finds ... hair clippers?!
Callie slides back in, her face still blank, as the referee tries to take them away from her. Tori, at ringside, pulls the referee away and throws him into the barricade. Callie stars shaving Peach's head as she lays there limp from the brutal assault. Callie just keeps shaving and shaving, the clippers digging into Peach's scalp, and it turns red with blood.
The crowd all shower Callie with boos, but she pays no attention to them, her face still stoic as she carries out this attack on Peach Gelato. Finally, Tori notices more EWC officials coming out through the entrance area, and she takes this opportunity to scoop up Callie and take her through the other side of the arena as the fans all boo and Peach Gelato is left on the mat, hair around her, mixed with blood.
Callie slides back in, her face still blank, as the referee tries to take them away from her. Tori, at ringside, pulls the referee away and throws him into the barricade. FOR A SHOT AT GOLD COME NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS!
[SINGLES MATCH - WINNER EARNS FX BROADCAST CHAMPIONSHIP OPPORTUNITY AT NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS XVIII]
Tyler Bradford
VS Darius
VS Darius
We return to ringside where commentary is standing by!
Aiello: Folks, it's been a wild night so far and our next contest has some big implications for Night of Champions! Tyler Bradford and Darius square off to see who gets a shot at the FX Broadcast Championship at our big show in Japan, a rare title match on a night focused squarely on the Insanity Cage!
Bennett: And with both Tyler and Darius looking to get an opportunity at the gold, it may very well be insanity here in Hotlanta tonight!
Stroup: The following match is scheduled for one fall, with the winner earning a shot at the FX Broadcast Championship at Night of Champions XVIII! Joining us first, from Miami Beach, Florida, weighing in at 223 pounds ... TYLER BRADFORD!
"Iconic" by Jaxon Gamble plays as Tyler Bradford makes his way out, his focus solely on heading to the ring despite a chorus of boos accompanying him along the ramp. He enters the ring, warming up for what is sure to be a tremendous challenge ahead of him!
Stroup: And his opponent, from Albany, New York, weighing in at 265 pounds ... DARIUS!
"Burn It Down" blares throughout the arena as smoke billows from the stage. Darius comes marching out with bat and Elissa in hand, wasting no time as they storm down the ramp. Darius rolls into the ring and poses while trash talking the crowd. As soon as "Burn It Down" begins to play, plumes of thick white smoke covers the stage, Darius and Elissa Bradley emerge from within, Darius holding Elissa with one hand, his bat in the other, and donning looks of absolute aggression and determination on both of their faces. Darius hypes himself up, slams the bat against the ramp a few times, then rushes down the ramp and slides into the ring. He leaps onto one of the turnbuckle and harasses the crowd for a moment, smacks the bat on the top of the ring post a few times, then holds the bat high into the air with one hand and throws devil horns up with his other hand as he waits for the match to begin.
DING DING DING
The bell rings and both men immediately start trading blows, each looking for an advantage early on in this contest...and eventually, it's Darius who gets the upper hand as he makes use of his size and experience to wear Tyler down. Darius is unrelenting, but Tyler eventually perseveres as he gets back to a vertical base, shoving his opponent away before going for a neckbreaker...but Darius counters it into a neckbreaker of his own, bringing both men down to the canvas!
The ref checks on both men, but Darius is already slowly getting back to his feet. Tyler follows suit, but is sent to the corner by an Irish whip from Darius who charges at full force...only for Tyler to dodge it at the last minute! Darius collides against the steel pole shoulder-first, giving Tyler an opening as he rolls up the former International Champion!
1!
...NO! Darius kicks out!
Tyler picks him back up, not letting up as he continues the attack with an elbow to the back of the neck. He does this over and over, before hitting a neckbreaker that connects this time. Feeling a bit cocky of his chances, he puts a boot on the chest of Darius for a lax cover...but Darius kicks out before even a count of 1!
Aiello: Tyler thought he had this match won already, but Darius quickly reminding him that he's got plenty of fight left!
Bennett: Yeah, too much confidence might hurt Tyler's chances here if he's not careful!
Tyler starts arguing with the ref, demanding that he does his job and make the count as Darius gets to his feet. When Tyler turns his attention back to his opponent, he gets caught with a dropkick that sends him back into the turnbuckle! Darius approaches, climbing to the second top before slamming a fist against the skull of Bradford as the ref starts counting, getting to four before shouting at Darius to stop.
Darius steps off for a clean break...only to hit a forearm smash on Bradford, dropping him to the canvas. Darius turns Tyler around, propping his legs up on the top in a tree of woe position before getting to his feet. He takes a few steps back before charging at his prone opponent, connecting with a dropkick to the head! This manages to bring Tyler back down, much to the delight of Darius as he drags Tyler to the middle of the ring for a cover!

2!
...Tyler kicks out!
Now it's Darius arguing with the ref over the speed of the count, even going so far as to shove the ref as Tyler gets to his feet...and he catches Darius by surprise with a high release German suplex! Not feeling like the job is finished, Tyler immediately brings Darius back to his feet, sending him to the ropes with an Irish whip to hit a clothesline on the rebound...but Darius gets an arm up, and both men go down hard!
Aiello: Wow, what impact! The ref's trying to make sense of this, could we see a double KO tonight?
Bennett: I sure as hell hope not, we gotta see ONE of these guys go for the gold!
The ref checks on both men, making the call to start the count:
1...
2...
We can see Tyler and Darius both starting to stir, each slowly turning over to get off their back.
3...
4...
We see Darius get to one knee, grabbing a nearby rope to help himself up. Tyler, meanwhile, rolls out of the ring to get some leverage. Darius is back to his feet as Tyler stands up on the outside. Darius runs to the ropes, using the momentum to take a chance on a dive through the ropes...but gets cut off with a forearm smash by Bradford! The crowd is really not pleased to see that as Tyler slides back into the ring, quickly going for the cover!
1!
2!
NO! DARIUS KICKS OUT!
Tyler is doing his best to control his rage at this as Darius gets back to his feet, and the two go back to where they were at the beginning of the match as they start taking big swings at each other! Darius manages to get the upper hand one more time as he sends Tyler to the corner with a big boot! He runs up and pulls Tyler in, looking for the Gray Matter...but Tyler counters out, hitting a drop toe hold on Darius! Darius is already getting back to his feet, but it's precisely what Tyler wants as he connects with a running knee to the skull! SHHHHHHHHHH goes Tyler as Darius collapses to the canvas, and Tyler goes for the cover once more!

DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall TYLER BRADFORD!
The ref raises Tyler's arm in victory, as we see Darius coming to before we cut to commentary.
Aiello: Wow, what a match folks! Both men really giving it their all here, but Tyler Bradford comes out on top!
Bennett: Kudos to Darius but boy, is Nightcall gonna be in for a looooong night come Night of Champions!
Aiello: Speaking of Nightcall, the FX Broadcast Champion is in non-title action as he faces PRIME's Narumi Tsutsumi, and that match is up next!
Tyler quickly gets out of the ring, heading up the ramp to continue his celebration as an angry Darius stares him down before we go to a commercial break...
The Night Dude, now decked out in black attire, walks the halls of the State Farm Arena, rapping a freestyle to himself.
Nightcall: ♫ The workin' man finding rest on these Monday Nights
Is harder than the blind tryin' to eat among the city's sights
Burnin' down Georgia like General Sherman givin' last rites
Thank God there's a fire to show us all some pretty lights ♫
Nightcall: ♫ Everytime I'm on TV it's a hot new attraction
Brawl's gaining ground, Prime answers with a distraction
No magical girl wand wavin' away this chemical reaction
Pink Mist don't know the meanin' of that word, "subtraction" ♫
Nightcall: ♫ The Red Brand drivin' the field stronger than the Falcons
We're hotter than summertime in the fuckin' Balkans
No MLK peace and love, the voice Brawl hears is Malcolm's
Give us props, we've been on this since vinyls were just called albums ♫
Nightcall: ♫ Gonzo poet with a love for the grappling arts
Selling it easily like your neighborhood Walmarts
Simple to digest, but still got flavorful parts
Now let's take the night back like the indies took the smarks ♫
And with that we cut back to ringside...
INTERBRAND INSANITY: DEFENDING BRAWL'S HONOR!
[SINGLES MATCH, NON-TITLE]
Narumi Tsutsumi
VS Nightcall
VS Nightcall
After that appearance from the FX Broadcast Champion, we return to ringside where commentary is standing by!
Aiello: Well folks, we know that Tyler Bradford faces Nightcall at Night of Champions for the FX Broadcast Championship...but how will our champion fare in non-title action against PRIME's Narumi Tsutsumi?
Stroup: The following non-title match is scheduled for one fall! Joining us first, from Shinjuku, Japan, weighing in at 125 pounds ... NARUMI TSUTSUMI!
Stage spotlights shine down in the dark as "The Baddest" by Raon Lee begins to play with the oni princess skipping onto the scene in a pink oni mask. Narumi waves at the fans as the spotlight follows her. As she makes her to the ring apron, she turns to the camera to take off her mask and blows a kiss as the lights turn back on in the arena. She enters the ring to skip around and wave at the crowd.
Stroup: And her opponent, from Oceanside, California, weighing in at 205 pounds, he is the FX Broadcast Champion ... NIGHTCALL!
"Nightcall" by Kavinsky plays as Nightcall dances out onto the ramp with Effie around his waist. He gives a few pelvic thrusts and hops around the runway, making a complete spectacle of himself before climbing the steel steps. He hands the title to a ringside official before going up to the top rope. He pauses, then cups his hands and shouts "Take Back The Night!" before jumping down.
DING DING DING
Narumi and Nightcall both start the match by circling each other. Nightcall tries to shoot in at his smaller opponent but Narumi manages to dodge away. Nightcall goes to get to his feet, but Narumi steps in and blasts Nightcall across the chest with a chop. Nightcall stumbles backwards but comes running off the ropes and attempts a leaping leg lariat. Narumi ducks under and goes to the ropes herself coming back at Nightcall and hitting him with a Superman Punch. Nightcall stumbles back, and Narumi is on him quickly sweeping the leg out from under him and sending him to the mat.
Nightcall springs back to his feet and comes at Narumi with a few palm strikes that send the smaller superstar backing away. Narumi manages to slip one of her own in under Nightcall’s chin jabbing his head backwards. Nightcall continues coming though and backs Narumi into a corner. Narumi goes for a front kick but Nightcall ducks under and grabs Narumi’s leg. He twists the leg from the corner and throws Narumi to the mat with a dragon screw leg whip.
Aiello: Wow, look at the impact from that leg whip!
Bennett: The champ is really taking it to Narumi tonight, Joe!
Narumi jumps to her feet quickly, she goes to the ropes limping and Nightcall follows smashing her over the top rope with a clothesline. Narumi manages to land on her feet but is still stunned as she backs into the barricade. Nightcall comes through the ropes and jumps off the apron looking for another leg lariat. Narumi moves and lets Nightcall smash into the barricade. Narumi comes at Nightcall and unloads a vicious striking combination into The Night Dude. He steps forward trying to swing at Narumi but falls on his face from the last blow.

Narumi hops up to the apron and waits for Nightcall to stand up. Once he gets to his feet she sprints down the apron going for a penalty kick. Nightcall ducks under and manages to slide into the ring just as the ref’s count gets to 8.

Narumi tries to step through the ropes but Nightcall blasts her with a palm strike that sends her back to the apron. Nightcall pulls Narumi up by her hair and after a few knees through the rope, manages to flip her into the ring. He jumps to the apron, then leapfrogs over the top rope and plants Narumi to the canvas with a leg drop. Nightcall goes for a pin.

KICKOUT!
Narumi kicks out, sticking her arm into the air and holding up one finger. Nightcall gets to his feet and slaps his hands together as he waits for Narumi to crawl to her knees. He’s encouraging her to get up, and as she sits up he unleashes The Californian Buzz Saw Kick!
Aiello: Wow, the champ's looking to end things with that kcik!
Bennett: No wait, look!
Narumi manages to fall to her face and roll under the move. As Nightcall tries to get his bearings Narumi jumps to her feet and begins once again swinging strikes. This time she manages to end the striking with a roaring elbow! Nightcall explodes backwards as he gets leveled with The Master Sword. Narumi hooks the leg for a cover.

KICKOUT!
Nightcall throws Narumi off of him at the last possible second. It’s Narumi’s turn to wait now, she stands motioning for Nightcall to get up. Narumi grabs his arm and twists it for an arm wrench. She places her foot on Nightcall’s chin and falls. Nightcall, instead of going to the mat, holds her there and sprays Pink Mist into Narumi’s face. Narumi, now blinded, begins to flail with her free arm.
Nightcall kicks at Narumi, who manages to work her way to her feat. She keeps the deathgrip on Nightcall’s arm so she knows where he is. Nightcall drives a knee into her stomach and tries to pry her fingers off of him. But Narumi goes for an arm wrench again and this time wraps Nightcall up in the Low Diffa!!!

Nightcall is kicking his legs like a wild man

DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall... NARUMI TSUTSUMI!
The ref raises Narumi's arm in victory as Nightcall rushes to his feet, bewildered at what just happened before we cut to commentary.
Aiello: Wow, what an upset! Nightcall showed a lot of heart and guts taking it to the holder of the PRIMEtime Briefcase, but the champ just got showed up by the visiting Narumi!
Bennett: Oh man, that can only mean good news for Tyler Bradford who has the momentum in his favor going into Night of Champions!
Aiello: Man, what a match...folks, we're getting word about something going down in the back. Let's get some cameras back there now.
Sure enough, we cut backstage to see what all the ruckus is about ...
The camera rushes up on a scene of chaos, catching Malice and Mayhem of Damage Inc in the process of attacking Jack Severn. Mayhem bounces him off a wall before Malice throws him into an equipment trunk scattering coils of cables and other odds and ends in every direction. The two start to lay in the boots on the fallen man who does his best to fight back against the two-on-one onslaught. Several EWC enhancement talents rush in to try to break up the fight but Malice sends Scrappy Coco flying and Mayhem boots YaYa Bananna in the gut before dropping him with a knee to the nasal bridge
Dimitri Graves runs into the frame, waving wildly at someone off camera and hollering desperately for help. Mayhem turns away from the assault on Severn to go after Graves but he is knocked back by King Flip who arrives swinging a steel pipe. Flip fight both Malice and Mayhem back long enough for Jack to regain his balance. Both teams stand staring at each other across the sea of officials and other wrestlers who have come in to keep them apart.
Flip jumps first, struggling his way through the crowd to take a swipe at Malice. The fight is back on with all four men struggling against the tide to throw punches and kicks in each other's direction. More bodies show up to separate them as someone in a suit starts yelling for Jack and Flip to back off because they are threatening the main event.
Lacey Savage slinks out of the shadows to pull her men away as Dimitri Graves finally gets the enraged Flip/Jack Connection under control as we go to our last commercial break of the night...
WHO WILL REPRESENT THE RED BRAND IN THE SUPER 16!?
[TAG TEAM MATCH - SUPER 16 TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS]
Heavenly Treats
VS The Flip & Jack Connection
[TAG TEAM MATCH - SUPER 16 TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS]
Heavenly Treats
VS The Flip & Jack Connection
A small package begins to display on the X-Tron. The 'SUPER 16 TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT' label coming and going as the action plays out. First up, Heavenly Treats facing Xtreme Ravagers. Smash cut to Reid's face meeting turnbuckle before Visconty takes control of the match. Smash cut again to Reid taking the SFC from Candy and getting pinned. A paused image of the team moving forward as 'HEAVENLY TREATS' emblazons the tron in all its diabetic glory. Then the next match, Damage Incorporated against The Flip and Jack Connection. Flash forward through a lot of Jack and Flip getting rag-dolled until a thumb to the eye from Jack Severn. A Silent Execution combination finisher later and the second paused image of the next team to move forward. 'THE FLIP AND JACK CONNECTION' displays in gold. The X-Tron fades after several seconds, cameras panning over to Jessica Stroup who is ready to call the main event of the evening.
Aiello: You saw it here first, folks, and the action is only gonna get even more heated in this second round match in the Super 16 Tag Team Tournament. Candy. Gabrielle Visconty. Jack Severn. King Flip. THIS... is tag team wrestling in Extreme Wrestling Corporation.
Bennett: You know you're in for a hell of a fight when there ain't no love lost between the competitors. The ladies were nothing short of disrespectful to Jack and Flip, but it's not like those men seemed to give a damn about feelings themselves. I can't wait to see which team represents the red brand moving forward in the tournament.
Stroup: The following main event is a tag team match and is the second round in the Super 16 Tag Team Tournament. Joining us first, from Gabrielle Visconty's favorite rehab clinic, weighing in at 440 pounds ... THE FLIP AAAND JACK COOONNECTION!
'Save My Soul' begins to play throughout the arena as Severn emerges from the curtain, the utmost confidence in his face. He begins clapping for himself as King Flip slowly walks through the curtain and the fans actually begin to cheer. Severn, disgusted, scoffs at Flip and quickly walks to the ring. Flip matches his cadence and slides into the ring as Severn makes his own way up the steps and through the ropes. Severn does his usual pose in the center of the ring, raising the Brawl flag up, but again the crowd cheers as Flip procures his own Brawl flag and imitates Severn's pose. Severn shoves Flip and starts motioning that this is only HIS thing.
Stroup: And their opponents, from Candyland, weighing in at 232 pounds ... HEAVENLYYY TREEEAAAATS!!
The start of 'We R Who We R' hits the PA system as H E A V E N L Y T R E A T S scrolls across the X-Tron. The crowd explodes in cheers as Candy and Gabi Vee walk out of the back in matching Heavenly Treats jackets, and stop at the top of the entrance ramp. Both girls look at each other and smile, the crowd's cheers turn to a roar before they turn back to the crowd and hold up the 3C hand sign to the crowd. Candy and Gabi high five each other and head down towards the ring. Candy slides under the bottom rope as Gabi springboards into the ring. The Heavenly Treats meet in the center of the ring and go back to back, and the girls work the crowd a moment before moving to their corner and removing their jackets. Flip and Jack don't wait! They rush the ladies as they're removing their jackets.
Aiello: WELL HERE WE GO, FOLKS!
DING DING DING
Flip and Jack are unloading stiff forearms and right hands to Candy and Visconty. They help the ladies out of their jackets by pulling them over their heads and slamming them together. Senior Referee Paul Turner is urging the men to back off, getting between them as Candy and Gabrielle both roll out on opposite sides of their corner. Flip proposes a game of rock, paper, scissors, and Jack shakes his head before turning and making his way to their corner. Flip plays rock, paper, scissors with the referee instead as his opponents regain their bearings together on the outside. Gabi V has seen enough and slides into the ring as the referee wins the game. She yanks Flip around and nails him with three consecutive European uppercuts, each more devastating than the last. The King veers more and more toward his corner with each hit and gets just close enough for Jack to be able to slap his back. Legal tag just as Gabrielle was taunting the crowd for another set of cuts. Flip slumps down onto his butt as Visconty comes in for the move. She instead meets Jack Severn's kickpad as it smacks off of her face from a thunderous kick to the noggin.
Aiello: King Flip showing his ring awareness is on even when he's messing around with the referee. He just gets that tag off and the match looks to be turning right around in the favor of Flip and Jack after that nasty boot to the face.
Bennett: I just hope he didn't hurt the goods. Gabrielle Visconty's face is one of my favorite things to look at! Hate to see her go but love to watch her leave, if you know what I mean.
Aiello:Are you sure your last name isn't Love, Bennett?
Jack connects with a vicious springboard splash, sending himself over the ropes to slam onto Gabrielle Visconty before she can get to her feet. He lays in a few stomps to her head as she tires to roll around and get up. Still, she relents, so he starts to lift her up. Visconty breaks free from his hold on as she stands. Jack Severn hits a stiff knife edge chop to her chest. The crowd goes 'WHOOOO!' and his face lights up... until she comes right back with yet another European uppercut. He stumbles back, almost in shock, then lashes out with another knife edge chop. The crowd goes 'WHOOOO!' a little louder this time. And this time, as Visconty comes back for another uppercut, Jack gets a quick thumb to the eye much to the chagrin of the senior referee. Severn quickly rushes into a roll up before anything can be done about it. Paul Turner slides into position for the pinning predicament.
1 . . .
2 . . .
No! Candy is in the ring needlessly, ready to aid Gabrielle Visconty who kicks out of her own volition just after the two count. But Candy and Flip rush one another as the King enters the ring after her. Right hand after right hand fly from each as they wail and beat and punch into one another. Candy gains the advantage after a few blocks and clotheslines Flip out of the ring. She turns right into a Jack Severn superkick that sends her right over the very same top rope to the very same thinly-padded concrete. Candy bumbles into Flip and both go back to business with a much slower forearm exchange. They're barely standing as Jack Severn comes flying over the ropes to plancha onto both of them. The crowd erupts. Meanwhile, Visconty had slowly gotten herself to her corner and was recovering from the onslaught. She pulls herself up and sees the situation. As quickly as she can, she brings herself to a closer corner, climbs to the top rope to a hushed crowd, stands up, then hits the corkscrew shooting star press finisher on her opponents and tag team partner as they all just get to their feet again.
Aiello: THE FALLING! Gabrielle Visconty hits her finisher on... everybody! Now they're all down and the crowd has never been so excited to see it.
Bennett: Visconty is tired of being seen as not being enough and that right there just sent a statement to the whole damn locker room. I'm here and I'm better than I've ever been, that's what that says.
Paul Turner only gets to four in his count out attempt when Jack Severn and Gabrielle Visconty slide into the ring from opposite sides. Visconty evades a dropkick, then executes a snapmare and follows it up with a basement dropkick of her own. The pain doesn't even begin to stop there as Gabi V grabs the legs of her opponent and spins the man into position for the Muta lock. Severn makes every effort to stop it. He tries get her off his legs, he tries to roll more than she wanted him to, he even tries to bite her hand after she successfully bridges over to no avail. Jack is stuck in this painful submission maneuver just fingertips away from being able to secure the bottom rope for the rope break. He can't reach it. Flip and Candy have been up only momentarily, but Candy cuts Flip off at the pass in his attempt to get into the ring to break the hold. She slams into him but he almost completely ignores her with a shove off. He slides into the ring but she's got his boot. The boot slips off entirely and Candy fumbles onto her back and rolls to her knees. The King is in the ring and he's only wearing one boot. He shoves his smelly, bootless, sweaty socked foot into Gabi's mouth and grinds until she breaks the hold. The smell is almost enough to make Jack tap out. Both he and Visconty are dry heaving as Candy slides into the ring with Flip's boot. He has retreated to the Heavenly Treats corner yelling something about 'foreign objects' as he motions at what's in Candy's hands.
Aiello: Well she wouldn't have the damn boot if you didn't loosen the laces enough for it to fall off, King!
Bennett: Now now, the rules are still the rules. She hits him with that boot and she could face disqualification.
The referee gets Candy to agree to hand over the boot, but only if Flip will put it on and get out of the ring. An agreement is made and the two competitors are off to their respective corners as their tag partners still reel on the canvas. Flip barely has his boot back on and laced as Gabrielle tags in Candy and Jack leaps for a tag himself. The crowd erupts as these two pick up where they left off. Hurancanrana from Candy to Flip. Hurancanrana from Flip to Candy in response. Flip ducks as Candy comes at him again, perhaps going for a toss, but Candy hits a stellar sunset flip and locks her arms around his right leg.

2 . .
No! Flip smacks his knees on each side of Candy's head... then lunges up into a pinning predicament of his own.
1 . .
Flip sees the referee out of position and grabs the bottom rope for leverage.
2 . .
No! Gabrielle Visconty with the save.
Aiello: Visconty coming in to save her tag team partner just at the last available moment there, folks. Flip has done everything in his power to mess with these two ladies tonight and they're not having any of it.
Bennett: These ladies have been a thorn in the side of the Flip and Jack Connection for too long, Aiello. It's about cashing receipts and tonight Flip looks to do just that and look at this. Jack Severn takin' Visconty out like a horse to the glue factory. Good night, Visconty.
Jack Severn flew into the ring and nails Visconty with a Codebreaker. Flip and Candy are both battle weary and slow to their feet. Jack tries to grab Candy and gets shoved so hard he falls over the downed Gabi V. The Sweet Treat grabs her legal opponent's and nails a picture perfect Sugar Free Candy off the turnbuckle. Cover!
1 . .
2 . .
No! The referee sees Flip's foot under the bottom rope and stops just before he gets the three count. Candy is elated to feel no kick out and assumes the best as she gets to her hands and knees grabbing Gabi V's head. Flip sits up Undertaker style and stares down the back of Gabi and Candice's heads with unmatched fury. He uses the ropes to get himself up quickly before the referee can correct the situation. Flip slams ass first onto the lower back of Candy before locking in his signature camel clutch. Candy's screams alert Gabi, but Jack Severn is right there to lock in his own version of the muta lock. Gabi and Candy's faces are just inches away from each other as the submission holds crank away. They lock hands with one another but neither even with Gabi's assistance Candy just cannot reach the ropes. It's over as Candy taps out!
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via submission, and advancing to the Semi-Finals of the Super 16 Tag Team Tournament... THE FLIP AND JACK CONNECTION!
Flip immediately lets go of Candy, thrilled as Jack lets go to get back to his feet. The ref raises their arms in victory before we cut to commentary.
Aiello: Wow, what a main event folks! A very, VERY close contest between both teams here...but Flip and Severn have pulled off what could very well be a big upset to advance to the semi-finals!
Bennett: You both love AND hate to see it, Joe! It's a shock that these two have even gotten along well enough to not implode, much less get past two very game tag teams in this tournament...and now, they represent the red brand heading to the next round!
Aiello: What a great, great effort from the Heavenly Treats tonight, but with Gabi's promise earlier tonight of lifting this brand up, you gotta wonder where she and Candy both go from here! Folks, we are done here in Hotlanta tonight, but in a couple weeks we head to Japan for Night of Champions XVIII...and next month, Brawl comes to you live from Amesterdam! Until then, I've been Joe Aiello alongside Steve Bennett saying so long and goodnight!
The last thing we see is Flip celebrating, with Jack staring him down momentarily before extending a hand. Flip accepts, signifying a turning point in the partnership between these two. All the while, officials check on Candy and Gabi Vee as the show comes to a close.
