For the people, by the people.
That was a slogan given to Stevenson by his wife back in 2006 when they had just met when Stevenson signed for wrestling promotion, Professional Wrestling Today. Now for those you don't really know the story, let's go back and learn a thing or two.
PWT was owned by a lovely woman named Becca McCallister, now Becca Stevenson. When 2006 rolled around; Stevenson had just finished his contract over in Las Vegas with another company called Online Championship Wrestling: owned and operated by one, Justin Klein. Stevenson and Klein never got along, ever and it led to a really strained business relationship which eventually led to Stevenson’s departure from the company just a few months after he was inducted into the OCW Hall of Fame.
When Stevenson found his way over to PWT, he hadn't been in the business very long but did manage to accumulate a lot of success within his first year. Coming in as a rookie, Stevenson had a red hot start in the company toppling over the likes of PWT Heavyweight Champion, Damien Collins and PWT Women's Champion, Georgia James in his debut match to the company which just so happened to be a triple threat match.
With very few believing in him, Stevenson went on to have a really good year and since the people fell in love with him, as did Becca; so the moniker was coined for him…
… For the people, by the people!
As the years went on however, Stevenson managed to become even more successful having been inducted into a few different Hall of Fames and being HIGHLY recognized for his work ethic, everyone sought after his talent.
Years later however…
Now that Stevenson is in his eleventh year into the industry, needless to say, he has become rather complacent since he can draw on his name value alone. As of late however, there has been a change inside of him, he doesn't want to be the arrogant prick he has been for a few years now, no, he wants to find the inner fire that he had back in 2006: to be the man who everybody wanted on their roster and to be the man who was labeled and recognized as the BEST simply because that's what he was, the best!
But the question was, how would he get there?

With all of the lights off in the living room, the low hue from the Television set flickered and sitting on the couch watching old wrestling tapes of himself was of course, Drew Stevenson. With his dark brown eyes staring intently on the television set, the volume was low enough so it wouldn't wake anyone else up and he didn't need to hear it because he lived it and just watching it alone really brought back those memories.
Taking in a deep breath, he runs his hand over the Blu-Ray remote while continuing to watch these old matches, his old career like a Hawk. Sure, he still has it in him and even sits at the top of the mountain over in Knoxville, Tennessee but something isn't there and he can't quite place his finger on it.
With the Blu-Ray remote now gripped firmly in his right hand, he licks his bottom lip and realizes that he has really changed and not for the better. Lowering his head and looking away from the Television set, he runs his left hand through his short hair and let's out a sigh as he realizes what he discovered…
… He isn't Immortal when it comes to the wrestling business, no, he will bleed if you cut him and the hardest thing for a legend to discover, especially one who embraced the money, the politics, and everything else that he used to stand against is realizing that he is in fact mortal.
When you realize that you still have that metaphorical mortality, it changes you, it makes you stop and think about everything and this is the road Stevenson is currently on.
Mortality is the scariest thing on Earth and Stevenson knows that he best adapt or perish; there is no other option.
