The camera goes backstage to a door reading “Jaden "X" Hunter”. After giving the viewer a clear shot, the door opened and Ruthann Hunter stepped out wearing a red and black dress. It was fitting her body just right and her hair was curled to compliment the outfit. She was on her phone texting when Shelley Silver walked over to her. Shelley attempted to get Ruthann’s attention, but the older woman acted as if she was busy on her phone. Shelley took in a deep breath and cleared her throat. Ruthann looked up at her as she moved her head to the side. Ruthann raised an eyebrow looking over at the former United States Champion closely, looking mildly annoyed.
Ruthann Hunter: How can I help you?
Shelley looked a bit dumbfounded as she flipped her hair to the side.
Shelley Silver: I tried to go to training this week at the school but Mark and the others told me I am no longer needed at the school...
Shelley sucked her lower lip into her mouth, chewing it a bit before tilting her head to the side.
Ruthann took in a deep sighed looking over at Shelley.
Ruthann Hunter: Are you truly surprised by that?
Shelley was taken aback by her mentor's statement as the older woman looked at her with a serious look. A look that Shelley never saw from Ruthann before as she looked at her right in the eyes.
Shelley Silver: Y-yes?
Ruthann Hunter: You talk about how my man is something sometimes... Since who you are seeing doesn't believe I am a worthy person to even be walking around the hallways of this company... the same company I have been with since 2015. With all of the history I have created here, and he doesn't have the slightest bit of respect for me? I believe you and me... me as your mentor is over. Think about it. He did say I was nothing.... He did say I wasn't worthy of anything.. EVERYTHING I have done was shit... so why would you be around a person like me.
Shelley blinked a few times, shaking her head. Clearly, she hadn’t bothered checking out the promos for the very event that she was hanging out backstage for.
Shelley Silver: Wait… who...
Ruthann ignored her as she held back tears of rage and she glared at Shelley.
Ruthann Hunter: I have been there for you, as well as many others around in this company. When even my own husband felt like I was picking my friends over him. The many fights I had with him about EVERYONE I befriend. The ones I took under my wing. I never... NEVER let him get away with his words and feelings about you.
Shelley sighed softly as she had her hands inside of her pockets looking down at the floor a bit before looking up at Ruthann again. It was at that point that Shelley had concluded that it had been Ashton Drake who has said those awful things about Ruthann. At the same time, this conversation had only left Shelley further confused. Ruthann, not taking her eyes off of the other girl as soft tears were coming down her face, continued her rant.
Ruthann Hunter: Out of respect for me, he gave you that match. But not only out of respect for me. He actually started to listen to me. He actually started to believe the things I saw in you. You earned the right to be stepping inside of that ring with Jaden. You had every right to be up against him as one of his last matches. I have helped you get to that point where he saw you as something. I just help you take what others didn't want to see and help you make it blossom into something great but the person you want to be with. He doesn't see me like that... He believes I am nothing.
Ruthann ran her hand down into her hair as she looked back over at the clueless woman across from her.
Ruthann Hunter: The last person who thought and saw me as nothing was my so-called parents. People who did things to me. They did everything in their power to make me feel worthless... they did everything in their power to make me feel like I am nothing... they laugh at me. They want me to feel that and that's how Drake made me feel. I have no right to tell you that you can't be with him, but knowing and seeing that this is how he views me. This is how he views my career with this company.
Ruthann wiped her tears as the look on her face turned serious, directed at Shelley.
Ruthann Hunter: You no longer need me to be there for you. Go to him. Let him be the one to be there for you when you end up as a lost soul. Let him be the one to be there for you when you want to know if a move is just right. Let him be the one to be there for you when you want or need advice. Hey, I am a worthless piece of shit.
Ruthann walked away from Shelley as Shelley lean up against the wall lost as what to do. Shelley sighed after a moment, turning to speak to Ruthann’s back after she was just too far away to hear.
Shelley Silver: You know me better than that, though! It’s not like he runs things by me.
Shelley punched the wall with a groan as her manager, Sloane Cameron, walked up.
Sloane Cameron: Everything OK, sweetie?
Shelley shook her head as tears welled up in her eyes. She knew that Ashton Drake has said some horrible things to get back at the things that Jaden Hunter had done to him, but in Shelley’s eyes, he went too far.
Shelley Silver: Everything is far from OK. We’re leaving and I never want to see Ashton Drake again.
Sloane blinked a few times, completely perplexed, as she followed Shelley and the scene faded to black.
