Dragasha was sitting alone on a bench, watching the water. She’d been there for only a few moments, but the scenery had already calmed her mind. She watched families having a good time. One such family, a young boy was learning to ride his bicycle, and his apparently older sister was helping him. She watched this for a moment or two, until the boy fell, and began to cry. His sister helped him up and hug him. Dragasha couldn’t hear what was said, but the boy got back on the bike and began riding again.
The scene reminded Dragasha of Jessica’s childhood. Ashley had been an amazing older sister, and a great role model for her two younger siblings. All throughout school, she helped them with their homework, put off spending time with her friends, to hang with Jessica and their brother. Dragasha even remembered an incident where Jessica had been attacked by a racist classmate. Jessica was hit in the head with something and knocked out.
When she came around, someone had gone and gotten Ashley, and she fought with the two teenagers. She’d knocked one of them out already, and was still fighting with the other. With access to Jessica’s memories, Dragasha understood some of her motivations.
Jessica: Stop doing that. Don’t analyze me.
Dragasha: Why? You do it.
Jessica: That’s different.
Dragasha: If you say so. She should be along soon.
Jessica: I know, naturally.
Dragasha: Are you sure it’s the right call? Where would she even fit in?
Jessica: Perhaps Brawl?
Dragasha: I see.
Jessica: Urakih will be a great addition to the EWC roster. It’ll also be helpful to our new recruits, to show them what I expect of my Dragons.
Dragasha: Are you sure about the other woman? At least with Polly, she’s bringing something to the table, and has brought the Order two of the seven championships available. There’s no way to say for sure that the other will be able to gain the championship we want her to.
Jessica: If she gets it, she’s in. If not, she’s not in. Simple as that.
Dragasha: You’re the boss.
Jessica: Thanks for noticing.
Dragasha was about to reply to Jessica, but she looked up and saw Adatu Urakih walking toward her. That ended the conversation in her head abruptly.
