As Gero steps off of the Greyhound with his bag he takes his first new look on life. He has finally done it! He was the superstar of a multi-million dollar franchise and not only that he'd combined the owner of EWC and the GM of brawl to house him on the original show, Monday Night Brawl. The show that started it all in Extreme Wrestling.
There was a lot of history here.
Gero was passionate about history and he'd done a bit of studying on the EWC. That's how he knew he'd made the right decision. It took a lot out of him sometimes, but whenever he thought of quitting or giving up he thought of his family. That always keep him going.
It was all that kept him going now that he was alone.
Gero walks over to the hotel counter where a clerk was waiting for him.
Triple X
Excuse me, but I was wondering if you had a room waiting for Gero Chidubem?
Hotel Clerk
Well let me see here?
While the clerk went searching for Gero's room, the new Brawl Superstar took a look at his surroundings.
The hotel was lush and extravagant unlike anything Gero had ever seen. His previous leagues couldn't afford such niceties in this manner. Not even champions or trophy winners could afford a night in these places where he came from.
It was all a bunch of older, backwood leagues he was used to. He'd grow accustomed to the real action. Gero really was not much of an actor so naturally when he was singled out by the WWE he declined.
Though the talent scout was thoroughly disappointed he did not leave Gero behind. He helped him research wrestling franchises even after that. He put himself out there at times to help Gero until they both came across EWC.
He'd never known anyone to do something like that for him and when the day came that he'd sign his contract with EWC he tried to get the scout to come on as his manager but he refused woefully.
He had his own dents to pay back to the WWE and he was under strict contract until then, but this still puzzled Gero. Why help me at your own expense? he thought. Why would this fancy suit want to help a backyard wrestling slumlord of all people?
Hotel Clerk
Ah! Here we go! The Rated X Superstar himself!
Gero had been dazed but was brought out of his memorial when her noticed what the clerk had said while he grabbed his key.
Triple X
What did you say?
The clerk just kept talking like he never heard the question.
Clerk
You're Me. Xtreme, right?
Triple X
That would be me, in the flesh... Uh, you a fan?
Clerk
Am I? I know your life story man. I been following you on YouTube for years. I love you man, no homo, but you are what wrestling used to be. Putting your body on the line in all these crazy matches against insane competitors like The Insane Clown in that barbed wire cage match, or your last Man standing match with Goliath! I've never admired someone's spirit as much as I do yours. Your brother would be proud of you.
Triple X
Thank you. Really...
And he walks off to the elevator.

Gero sits in the living room area of his suite, thinking. Thinking about his family and how it all came crashing down so fast at home once his brother died made him sulky. Literally at least 4 different leagues- not including his tour career with Japanese Wrestling- not one of them were official but to Gero it mattered very little.
He enjoyed fighting in the ring. He loved to wrestle. That's all he known since his brother died.
Gero takes an urn out of his traveling bag and sits it on the small coffee table of the living area. He stared at it long and hard.
Triple X
I miss you brother... I miss you mother... Grandmama... And father, wherever you are.
Gero sat there staring at the urn. What do I do from here? I finally made a roster but where do I start building my name with this company? Who am I?
He began perusing through the EWC title brochures and his contract again. Then he noticed something called the X-Division where the matches are totally extreme and bloody. It sounded like what he'd been doing at home more than anything and for some reason it spoke to him the most.
Gero nodded his accent. He was coming for the X Division!
