Apart from the chatter that comes with the EWC ring crew setting up on the floor, US Bank Arena is virtually lifeless with nobody else milling about.
However, upon closer inspection, we can see a man sitting in the nosebleeds in deep thought. The camera zooms in, revealing a pensive Ace King, who has yet to change into his ring gear.
The camera cuts to a shot behind Ace; his eyes are firmly locked on the cell structure suspended above the ring ahead of tonight's Devil’s Playground contender match.
Ace leans back in his seat and tilts his head skyward, his breathing getting deeper before a hand gently takes his; the tattoos give away the hand as belonging to Shelley Silver.
Shelley Silver: You’ve got this, babe. The first step to success is something that I still struggle with to this day. You have to believe in yourself. Until you do that, you can never truly win.
His gaze remains skyward for a few seconds, taking the time to register what Shelley had said before turning his attention to her.
Ace King: I want to believe you, and I know nothing is just handed out here, but I actually can't remember the last time I did anything memorable in a big situation, so I really don't know. I just want to be good enough, you know?
As he finishes, he shamefully looks away from her, disgusted that such thoughts exist in his head.
Shelley couldn’t help but frown. How could she help him when she still lacked confidence in the ring? Which was hard to believe, seeing as she was super confident when it came to everything else in life.
Shelley Silver: You can’t do it for the approval. Not for your family. Not even for me. You have to go out there and do things for yourself. Until then… you’re never going to be able to win anyone else over.
With another heave, Ace stares longingly out at the cell structure before sighing and closing his eyes.
Ace King: Sorry, didn’t mean to get so dramatic about it. It’s not that I don’t think I can do it, because I know it’s there somewhere. It’s just been so long since I’ve been in a situation where the stakes have been this high that, whether I like it or not, the doubts are there.
Ace slowly rises from his seat and starts to stretch a little, his eyes still firmly locked onto the Devil’s Playground structure.
Ace King: These chances don’t come around every day, so either I seize this one, or I go down swinging.
He pulls Shelley up to her feet from the seat, then wraps his arms around her and gives her a long, tender kiss, which is only broken up by footsteps approaching. More amused than anything, Ace turns his attention to his left and cocks an eyebrow.
Ace King: Hello, Newmann.
The camera zooms out to indeed reveal the recently-signed Brawl competitor looking at them intently. After a few seconds, Ace and Shelley take their leave, and Newmann watches them leave with a nod before adjusting the bandana around his neck.

The camera opened up backstage, the shot tightly aligned on EWC backstage correspondent Ace Heart. With a serious face he began to speak to the camera.
Ace Heart: Folks, tonight I have an exclusive interview for you with the newest tag team to be signed to the Extreme Wrestling Corporation, The World Breakers. On the last episode of BRAWL we saw them completely destroy two, young, EWC hopefuls but tonight I'm going to try and find out just a little more information on these heavyweight bruisers.
The camera pulled back and standing on either side of the reporter were the World Breakers. They flanked him on either side like the huge stone columns that once supported the Colosseum. Both were clad in the iron and leather armor they were adorned with on BRAWL, but the masks were absent from their faces, once again displaying the bizarre black & gold face paint they sported underneath. World Breaker Axis stood calmly on the left, gazing into the camera with a look of malice that must be his "resting face". World Breaker Atlas however, stood on the right, thick muscles bulging from his veined skin, eyes wild, twitching and bouncing slightly in place ready to spring into action at a moment's notice.
Ace Heart: Gentleman, allow me to be the first to welcome you to the EWC. On BRAWL we witnessed you, as I've said, completely destroying two young men in an impromptu match that we heard you demanded from Victor Price. But not only did you destroy your opponents, you also put your hands on referee Josh Daniels, officially costing you the match you requested in the first place. What I think we would all like to know is, what was the point on demanding a match if you just intended to throw it all away?
World Breaker Axis: The comforts of this world has made the denizens of this planet into weak sheep. Easily led. Easily convinced. Easily connived. You have forgotten bloodshed. You cringe at destruction. Shirked the ways of warfare and genocide. Fear death. And most importantly you have forgotten the ways of the Old Gods. The sacrifice they require in payment for the luxuries you enjoy. We are here to remind you of your duty to the Gods. The renumeration they require. The tax they insist upon for you to be able to inhabit this forsaken floating rock you call home. The first two nameless sheep were just a small taste of the destruction we are here to unleash. You would be foolish to think that that small sliver of slaughter was enough to satiate the bloodlust of the All Seeing Entities. Match or no match. Rules or no rules. Referee or no referee. Blood shall be shed and pain shall be dished out as we see fit.
Ace Heart: But if you don't follow some sort of rules, how can you expect to collect the wins that you need to climb the ladder of the tag team division and unseat The Moors Murders as tag team champions?
World Breaker Axis: Tag team champions? Moors Murders? You mean the amusing pair that parade around here with the golden belts wrapped around their waists?
Ace Heart: Harvey Yorke & Toni Gunn, yes. . .
World Breaker Axis: First of all let me tell you that wins and losses mean nothing to us. Shiny belts made of gold mean even less. We would throw those belts in a fire if given half the chance. Climbing the ladder of the tag team division is inconsequential to us as well. The fate of this promotion has already been written in the stars. The prophecy already handed down. We will run down every single person on this roster until the EWC lay in ruins. We will leave a trail of limbs and blood in our wake that you'll be able to follow until you reach the thrones we've made from the bones of the slain. The stench of death will be so strong that no one but the vultures that pick at the rotted flesh of the butchered shall approach. And once we have gutted this place from the very bottom, all the way to the top. . .then and only then will we set this place alight and move on to the next company that needs to be culled.
Ace Heart: Am I hearing this correctly? You care nothing of the tag team division? The championship belts? In fact, you're saying you'd destroy them if they fall into your clutches?
World Breaker Axis: Our mission is clear, boy. The Old Gods have raised us from the dust of galaxies ruined long ago. They have taught us their ways. To sustain ourselves off pain. To glean joy from catastrophe. We serve no other purpose than to rain down hellfire upon this world. To cleanse it of all the weak and fragile people that inhabit this floating canker sore. You have become soft. You have become craven. You are a failed experiment at best and your expiration date is swiftly approaching. The World Breakers are here to exterminate you. Don't you understand? Belts and trophies. . .accolades and in ring accomplishments? Shove them up your ass. Death and annihilation. . .tragedy and eradication, these are your future. And the future. . .is now.
With that, World Breaker Axis shoved Ace Heart out of the way and exited the view of the camera with his partner close on his heels as the scene faded to black.
