(The scene opens last Saturday afternoon, March 9, inside of the home of the parents of FSW Superstar, Lexie Glass, in Birmingham, Alabama. Due to her past drug use and partying lifestyle as well as her suicide attempt from a month ago, she is now staying with her Mother and Father as part of a conservatorship granted to her father, Benton. Laying in her bedroom watching some movies on her laptop, she decides to turn of Netflix to do another entry in her video journal. Her first since surviving her suicide attempt and discovering that she is pregnant with child. Lying in bed, she turns the camera on her laptop and begins speaking.)
LG: Is this on? Good. This is my first entry of my video journal in a while, I know. Sorry it has been a while, but as many as you know, I have been going through a lot. My career as been taking a downslide and I was dumped by a great guy who I was supposed to marry. I really can’t blame him for it, though. I know that I really fucked things up between us by my partying lifestyle, which he didn’t want to be a part of as well as cheating on him. I tried to kill myself as I didn’t think that I had anything to live for any longer. But I learned now that I truly do have something to live for.
I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my dear cousin, Madison, who found me, performed CPR on me, and called for help. Maddie, if you’re watching, I owe you everything. You saved my life. (Lexie then wipes tears away from her eyes.) I swear to you that I will pay you back for saving me. I promise. Well, what has happened since then? Let me tell you. After getting out of the hospital, I hired a cleaning crew to clean my house and put it on the market. I had to. As per agreement not to go to rehab, I agreed to have the courts grant a temporary conservatorship to my Dad. He is keeping track with what I still have left of my earnings as a professional wrestler in FSW. Plus, I will have more money coming in my bank account after I sell my house and get back my taxes. I am staying in the guest room of my parents house until, as my Dad told me, I get my shit together.
Not long after moving back home, I have had several family members come visit me. My Granny and Pop Pop spent a week with us. And Uncle Brantley and cousin Jade came up from Florida to spend a couple of days with us. Aunt Tessie couldn’t make it as my baby cousin, Brantley, Jr., was sick and she had to stay behind with him. And they were here to celebrate my 22nd birthday with me. It was different from last year. I rented out a dining room at Caesars Palace for my 21st birthday and had many close friends and acquaintances attend. This time, it was just family. But nice, nonetheless. My other grandmother, Grandma Heather, came from Georgia to attend my birthday party. My Granny Evelyn made my favorite dinner, country fried steak with mashed potatoes, corn, and milk gravy. And for the cake, she made my favorite. Chocolate fudge marshmallow cake. And the gifts were nice. Granny and Pop Pop gave me $200 cash, my sister, Erin, got me a new pink sweater. Grandma gave me a $25 gift card to Target, and Mom got me a $100 gift card to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. But the best gift was from my Dad.
He handed me a little box wrapped in gold paper with a gold bow. I opened it, and it was a set of keys. I asked him what it was to, and he told me that it is to the 1972 Gran Torino we worked on together when he first got it. I asked him why he is giving it to me. He told me that, for one, I needed a vehicle after my last one got repossessed due to missing payments. Second, he wanted to give me something special for my birthday. I just started crying and gave my Daddy a big hug. I know that he can be a hard ass at times, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he loves me like crazy. So does my Mom.
I am now living at home again pregnant with my baby. I still haven’t talked to the father yet, but I think that I will get a hold of him and arrange a meeting with him to tell him. I hope that not only does he help me with the baby, but that we can pursue a relationship with one another. We have something in common. Not only are we having a baby, but just like me, he lost the love of his life not too long ago. I think that getting together and raising the baby together will be great for both of us. But if it doesn’t work out that way, I know that I won’t have to raise the baby alone. Mom and Dad assured me that they will be there to help me every step of the way as far as the baby goes. It is great to know that I truly do have something to live for. This little guy or little girl. I will make sure that he or she will get the best I can give him or her. Melody Malone may have the FSW Championship, but I will soon have something greater. A baby to hold in my arms. Baby to love and raise. I so can’t wait to become a Mom. Even though I am still having a hard time giving up smoking, I know this little one will be so worth me never having another cigarette again.
Well, I guess I will go now. But I promise to give another update soon. And thank you fans for the cards as well as the tweets and messages you left for me. Your love, thoughts, and prayers have truly meant a great deal to me. Still do. I am so sorry I have been so shitty to you all this past year, please forgive me. (Lexie wipes more tears away from her eyes.) But, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for your love and support. I will never forget it.
(After the feed is cut, Lexie closes up her laptop and gets out her cell phone. She then dials a number and waits for the person she is calling to respond.)
LG: Hello? Hi there. Yes, Pete, it has been a while. I know. Look, I really need to see you. Tonight, if you are able. No, it’s really important that I see you tonight. Where? How about Sugar’s Ribs in Chattanooga for dinner. Sound good? Great. I really need to see you. I have something I really need to discuss with you, OK? See you then. Bye.
(Lexie hangs up her phone.)
