Fireworks emit outside the building and then all around the ring while a fog machine covers the arena in a purple haze! Fans stand up, pumping their fists and raising signs as the camera feed pans to each one of them. One last round of fireworks blast out now, and we turn our attention to Joe Aiello, Cid Sydney & Sandra Amsler.
Aiello: Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the EWC RUMBLE! We are live in front of a sold out crowd here in Fort Worth, Texas at Amon G. Carter Stadium, home of the TCU Horned Frogs!
Sydney: And, more importantly, home to Dominic Sanders! The soon-to-be first ever back-to-back winner of the Rumble match!
Amsler: We aren't talking about that match yet you moron!
Sydney: Nobody asked you!
Aiello: Guys, we've got a long night ahead of us! Let's keep focused here. For the first time EVER the Rumble event moves out of the Bronx. President Mac has chosen this amazing venue as it's replacement, at least for this year.
Amsler: And we will have quite the evening! We've got five amazing matches scheduled for you tonight. Although, as a Prime person, I was really looking forward to the Funhouse Match between Carlos Ruiz and The Ringmaster!
Aiello: Word is that that one has been postponed due to yet ANOTHER snag in Carlos Ruiz' work visa. We look forward to giving it to the EWC Universe at some point in the near future!
Sydney: We will kick things off tonight with the match that I, personally, care about the most! The Mercenary and Kyle Gautier will go one-on-one for the North American Championship! It's about bloody time that goof Gautier coughs up the belt!
Amsler: And then we will follow it up with a Fatal Fourway for the Indy Championship! Killjoy Ito will put his Indy Championship on the line against not one, not two, but THREE worthy opponents! Will we see Ito retain and continue his lengthy reign? Will we have a first time Champion in Jonty Kelly? Will we have only our second ever two-time Indy Champion in Richard Garcia? Or will we see Jordan Sharpe become a dual Champion and collect the Indy Championship to go along with his Television Championship?
Aiello: And then we will see ReBelle defend the Tag Team Championships against America's Most Hated. More specifically, Melody Malone and Iggy Swango. This was originally slated to be Draco Lazarus in this match, but his sudden departure from the company left Malone without a partner. However, it was granted that Iggy Swango take his place. ReBelle is hell-bent on keeping their gold, but might we see the first all-female Tag Team Championship pair? We will find out later!
Sydney: We've also got Ace King defending the United States Championship against Captain Morgan Darkwater! Darkwater earned this chance by winning the Falls Count Anywhere Scramble at Scars and Stripes back in July. Will Ace King prove, once again, that he is one of the best Champions we have ever had in the EWC? Or will the Captain end his reign at exactly 700 days and become the first new United States Champion since 2017?
Aiello: And then, of course, there is the biggest Main Event of the year! And I mean that literally! Forty men and women will enter the ring with one goal: Main Eventing WrestleFest XVII in Pyongyang, North Korea! The winner will earn himself or herself a shot at the Undisputed Champion, no matter who it is! We've got past winners, past Undisputed Champions, current Champions, newcomers, veterans .. you name it! EVERYBODY wants a shot at the Champ! In just a couple of hours, we will find out exactly who the next Number One Contender to the Undisputed Championship is! All that and so incredibly much more tonight .. on EWC RUMBLE XVI! We have so much to get to, so much to cover, such a massive Main Event .. We will be back with our first match of the night, right after this message from EWCTV.
The fans continue to chant and cheer as we fade out

NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP
[SINGLES MATCH]
MERCENARY
VS KYLE GAUTIER
We return to ringside where Joe is looking skyward.
Aiello: To the untrained eye, many fans and wrestlers alike wouldn’t think about being outside for a match. But Cid, you’ve been in the ring on a night like this. Hot, muggy, a slight breeze. Give us some insight on what how the weather could play into this first match tonight.
Sydney: Joe, most times I never worried about the atmosphere unless it was a rainy night or the potential of some really bad weather. Yeah it’s still around 90 as we speak. But no rain, no real bright lights to deal with, and to be honest I doubt anyone will even notice it tonight.
Amsler: Sounds exactly like your whole career, Cid.
Dobrev: The following match is for One Fall and is for the North American Championship. Joining us first, from Oakland, California, accompanied by Daliah Ashe, weighing in at 365 pounds ... THE MERCENARY MICHAEL MERCER
Mercenary walks into a flashing red light. His face is painted with war paint resembling The Punisher skull logo. He is stiff... hard... Frankenstein's deadly creation come to life. Smoke rolls in and with it comes the beautiful Dalilah Ashe. She grasps his arm and pulls herself to his immobile steel frame. They stand in the smoke and fire before starting towards the ring at a steady pace filled with anger and purpose. Daliah stops at ringside, taps Mercenary on the cheek, then walks towards the back as Mercenary climbs into the ring.
Dobrev: And his opponent, from Mobile, Alabama, weighing in at 195 pounds, The North American Champion ... KYLE GAUTIER!
Purple lights bathe the entrance ramp. As 'The Man' starts to play, a bit of fog billows out from backstage. Gautier follows it out and waves at it with his hands, the North American Title around his waist. He sees the crowd and starts for the ring with a smirky look on his face, giving a bunch of high-fives but missing out on the down-lows, mostly because he's too slow. Walking directly to the ring, he enters it by walking up the ring steps. As he gets in, he points to the crowd and covers his heart to show that's where they live.
Aiello: A Classic match looms ahead with a mismatch of styles. And we’re just about underway here in Fort Worth.
DING DING DING
Mercenary stands very large in the ring as Kyle turns around from the corner. He seems surprised as Mercenary grinds his fist into his left hand. Kyle nods slowly as he approaches Mercenary, a slight limp in his step. He offers Mercenary a handshake which brings a slight chuckle from the big man. Kyle understands then approaches closer, poking Mercenary in the chest with a finger. Mercenary goes for a right hand, but Kyle ducks underneath it. Kyle kicks Mercenary in the back of the leg but then walks away with a limp as Mercenary doesn’t sell it. Mercenary walks up behind Kyle and grabs him by the hair. Kyle reaches back and hits a jawbreaker, stunning the big man. Kyle gets back to his feet quickly, runs to the far ropes and charges in for a running knee. Mercenary catches him and with a yelp from Kyle, slams him down to the mat. Mercenary holds onto Kyle, lifts him back up with one hand and slams him straight down again. Aiello: Kyle may have poked the bear like he said he was planning to do but that bear poked back.
Sydney: A little surprising that Kyle wasn’t ready for that poke though.
Amsler: …. That’s too easy, I’ll let you have a pass this time, Cid.
Mercenary lets go of Kyle and slowly walks towards the ropes. He takes three steps and drops a knee onto the chest of Kyle. Kyle gasps for air as Mercenary grabs for a dragon sleeper. Kyle scrambles away and hooks both legs on the ropes. Mercenary lets go and gets to his feet. Kyle rolls to the outside and holds his chest, trying to catch his breath. Mercenary climbs to the outside and walks up behind Kyle. Kyle stops as the crowd points behind him. He starts to turn around but then runs around the corner. Mercenary gives chase but Kyle’s speed gives him lots of space. Kyle slides into the ring and scrambles up to his feet. He goes to the far ropes as Mercenary climbs up on the apron. Kyle launches himself and hits a running European Uppercut on Mercenary. The big man loses his footing, falling off the apron and against the steel railing.
Aiello: The tide may have turned for the champ. The rail is very unforgiving.
Sydney: Kyle’s using the ring to his advantage, which he needs to do to counter the size differential.
Amsler: And they say size isn’t everything.
Kyle rolls back out to the outside as Mercenary pulls himself up, favoring his back. Kyle lands a forearm to the chest then shoves Mercenary backwards into the rail. Mercenary lands a right hand that stuns Kyle. Mercenary rolls Kyle into the ring, and rolls in after him. Kyle quickly gets to his feet and stomps on the back of Mercenary. He sits on the back of Mercenary and pulls back on his chin. Mercenary tries to crawl to alleviate the pressure but then hooks Kyle and gets to his feet. Mercenary runs backwards towards the turnbuckle, squashing Kyle in the corner. Mercenary peppers him with a few right hands then launches him across the ring with a huge biel. The crowd pops as Mercenary stalks towards Kyle, hooking both arms then sending him across the ring again with the Doom Shadow.
Aiello: Kyle nearly landed in Dallas after that release powerbomb.
Sydney: Mercenary’s back in control and Kyle better figure out how to combat this if he wants to retain tonight here in Fort Worth.
Amsler: Neither are completely at 100% right now. One mistake and it might be over for either.
Mercenary goes for a cover but Kyle slides his shoulder out a two. Mercenary again hooks in a dragon sleeper. Kyle fights it, trying to clear the arm or get to his feet. Mercenary cranks it tighter and gets to his feet. Kyle grabs his arm and jumps, bending his body like he’s trying a moonsault. Kyle’s feet kick Mercenary in the face then hook around his head and takes the big man down with a flying headscissors. The crowd pops as Kyle looks at Mercenary in amazement. Mercenary holds his back as Kyle runs towards him. Using the ropes as a springboard, Kyle drops an elbow into the sternum of Mercenary. Kyle makes a cover but only gets a two count as Mercenary powers out. Kyle grabs an arm bar on Mercenary, trying to keep him grounded.
Aiello: Cid, this looks very counter-productve for Kyle here. He knows Mercenary is going to get out of this.
Sydney: Joe, he’s buying time here, trying to think of a way to get Mercenary down for 3 or maybe a tapout. It’s wrestling 101, when it doubt, grab a hole.
Amsler: Preferably a hold that will win you the match.
Kyle tries to keep Mercenary down, but he gets to a knee. Kyle tries to place a foot in the back of Mercenary but Mercenary shrugs it off and gets up to his feet. Mercenary back Kyle up to the corner. Kyle lets go but Mercenary tries for a right hand. Kyle ducks under and lands a series of kicks. Mercenary catches the leg then shoves Kyle down to the mat with a modified uranage suplex. Kyle hits his head on the mat. Mercenary slowly climbs up to the second rope, favoring his back. He nearly slips as he sets for a second rope leg drop. Kyle quickly gets to his feet, grabs the neck of Mercenary and falls backwards, driving his knee into the chest of Mercenary with the Port City Drop. The crowd pops as Kyle gets the three count, just as Mercenary kicks out a second later.
DING DING DING
Dobrev: And your winner, via Pinfall… and STILL North American Champion KYLE GAUTIER!Kyle rolls out of the ring and holds up three fingers to the ref. The official nods and raises Kyles’s hand in victory. Mercenary seethes and holds his chest as Kyle’s handed the North American Title. He slowly does a victory lap around the ring.
Aiello: One little slip by the challenger and Gautier found that opening he was needing.
Sydney: Wasn’t perfect or pretty but quick thinking and a little luck and the Champ takes home the title once again.
Amsler: I think Kyle knows he got away with this one. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mercenary with the North American Title next time they meet.
Aiello: I'm hearing about an interesting scene backstage, let's head there now.
Camera cuts to ...
The image opens backstage as we spy Gabrielle Visconty walking from the concessions area. She is holding a wad of pink cotton candy, and of course, she has the International title strapped around her waist. She rounds the corner and heads for her dressing room only to spot Kendrick Kross leaning up against the wall outside her dressing room door. He flashes her a crooked smile as his gaze drops to the title belt around her waist. Gabi stops and offers him a forced smile.
Gabi: I'm up here, buster.
Kendrick just kept his eyes locked on the International Championship, it was the one thing that he wanted and had been chasing for a while but he knew Gabi had been doing the same as well. Kendrick slowly took his eyes off of the International Championship to look up at Gabi. Kendrick could tell she wasn't exactly pleased to see him here but she probably knew he had a reason. Kendrick ran a few things through his head as he keeps the same smile he had earlier.
Kendrick: I know that, and don't call me buster. You have something around your waist though that I want. And well I might just have a plan for me to get it, though you might be able to play a part in it.
Gabi pulls a small wad of cotton candy off and pops it in her mouth as she stares at Kendrick for a moment. She purposely chews with her mouth open as she offers him a broad grin. Just as Kendrick looks as if he is about to lose his patience with her, she speaks.
Gabi: If it pisses Cyrus off I might be interested... Humor me, Rick. What are you thinking - besides how incredible this belt looks around my waist.
Gabi was truly testing Kendrick’s patience but he wanted to see if he could get this deal done so he tried to stay as calm as he could to make sure the two of them could figure a way to work together.
Kendrick: It definitely would piss him off. You have that title belt that technically belongs to him but I want it. You and I. If we could see about coming to some sort of agreement that benefits us both it could really piss him off. Think about it. Say I win the International Title. You would have accomplished your goal while I accomplish mine. It’s a win win.
Kendrick flashed a smile waiting to see if she liked it or had a counter proposal to his suggestion. Gabi stares at Kendrick a brief moment before she flashes her own smile back to him.
Gabi: Now don't get me wrong, while I do love pissing Cyrus off, and I have gotten fairly good at it, we all know he is the International Champion... I, on the other hand, am just the current International title 'holder.' And while I am still a 'contender' for the belt that is around my waist, you are new to the party.
Gabi says a little too confidently with a smirk, almost to the point it could be taken condescendingly. Kendrick looks like he is about to speak but Gabi continues.
Gabi: I am not opposed to giving you a fair shot at Jackhole Black, but you and I are still in line behind one Ms. Iggy Swango. I am going to hold onto this belt until the winner of the Black Vs Swango match, where I will then hand it over to the winner. If the EWC brass wants to toss you into the belt hunt they will, or you can try to interject yourself. I am not opposed to work with you to piss Cyrus off, I just want you to understand that the minute our paths cross in route to this title, I expect a dagger in the back... You are not the most trust worthy soul I have ever met. No offense.
She offers Kendrick a knowing nod as she finishes speaking, turning her attention back to her cotton candy, tearing off another piece and popping it into her mouth.
Kendrick: You’re right on a couple of those, he is the International Champion and you are just the so called title holder. New to the party though? No, I wouldn’t say that but whatever.
Kendrick gives her the same smirk that he just received from her. He definitely wasn’t going to let her get shots off on him.
Kendrick: We’re behind Iggy Swango who shouldn’t be there in the first place. How many times does she have to lose a match for that title to realize she was a fluke? But believe me, I plan on having my fair shot at that title soon whether the brass wants to put me there or not. We work together we can not only piss Cyrus off but in the end it’ll make sure someone he doesn’t want holding the belt holds it. As far as a dagger into your back once we cross paths? We’d have to see about that. I don’t backstab everyone.
Kendrick smirks again and keeps his eyes locked on her.
Kendrick: So Gabi. What do you think? Yes or no?
Gabi grins at Kendrick before offering out her hand.
Gabi: Yep. I'm in for the pure fact of making Cyrus squirm.
Gabi says with her hand over her mouth as she munches on her cotton candy. Kendrick shakes Gabi's hand, smiling to her before walking off. Gabi watches Kendrick walk away and chuckles to herself before heading into her dressing room.
The camera cuts to another feed backstage where we find...
The camera cuts to another feed backstage where we find...
Love: Tonight you lucky fans in Fort Worth, Texas as going to see history be made, first the Prime Indy Champion Killjoy Ito is going to cast aside three pretenders in Jonty Kelly, Richard Garcia and Jordan Sharpe, who all think they will be the man that takes the Indy Championship off Killjoy Ito. Listen gentlemen, I know it all sounds great, that you think it’s just going to be a piece of cake to walk out there and be the man that replaces Killjoy as the face of Prime but you are kidding yourselves
Tommy smirks
Love: Because let’s face it when the lights are the brightest Killjoy delivers and the three of you, well not so much. Jonty you have been in this situation before, in an Indy Championship match on a pay per view and you came up short. Richard you peaked at the start of the year when you beat Candy, since then you have done nothing of note and Jordan, we saw you shrink just a few weeks ago inside the Insanity Cage match at Night of Champions, yet Killjoy has proven he can deliver. At World Wide he put that championship on the line and beat Nevaeh when she thought she was ready to replace Killjoy, just like the three of you do. Killjoy had kept getting better and better as 2019 moves on, winning the G1, winning the Indy Championship, beat the likes of Scorpio and was right there at the end inside the Insanity Cage and tonight he ends the dreams of you three men and send you all back to the bottom of the ranks in Prime
Tommy laughs
Love: And then we move onto the Rumble and Killjoy will walk to that ring and deliver Prime it’s first Rumble winner, he will make history and once again carry the brand in the Rumble like he did last year and he will lock up that Main Event at WrestleFest where he will bring the Undisputed Championship back to Prime…
Killjoy walks into the shot and joins Tommy Love
Love: Tonight history will be made and it will be made by this man...Killjoy Ito and remember you heard it here first people
Timmy smiles as Killjoy pats him on the shoulder
INDY CHAMPIONSHIP
[FATAL FOUR-WAY MATCH]
JONTY KELLY
VS RICHARD GARCIA
VS JORDAN SHARPE
VS RICHARD GARCIA
VS JORDAN SHARPE
VS KILLJOY ITO
We return to ringside where Joe Aiello smiles at the camera
Aiello: We’ve had a great Rumble so far but up next is a big match for some big marbles as the Indy Title is on the line in a Four Way Match.
Sydney: Which Killjoy Ito is going to defend with ease.
Amsler: Is he? I don’t know how I dissagree with you on that given that one opponent pinned him a few weeks ago, one beat him for the TV Title that he now carries and the other is the current number one contender. But I do dissagree!
Dobrev: The following match is scheduled for one fall and is a Four Way Match for the EWC Indy Championship! Joining us first, from Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada and weighing in at 220 pounds he is the EWC Television Champion... JORDAN FREAKING SHARPE!
it's pitch black when 'Mein Herz Brennt' by Rammstein begins to play and then as the lyrics begin it changes to deep red and Sharpe comes down to the ring. He really is indifferent to his entrance and doesn't care to even react or do anything.
Dobrev: And his opponent, from Melbourne, Australia and weighing in at 213 pounds ... RICHARD GARCIA!
'Live To Win' by Paul Stanley hits as the crowd get to their feet to await the man that is about to enter through the entrance curtains. Smoke billows through the entrance curtain and out onto the stage. The lights are dim and with every guitar riff during the first verse the lights flash in unison.
"Frustrated, degraded, down before you're done"
"Rejection, depression, can't get what you want"
"You ask me how I make my way"
"You ask me everywhere and why"
"You hang on every word I say"
"But the truth sounds like a lie"
"LIVE TO WIN!"
As soon as the song kicks in Richard Garcia bursts through the entrance curtains to an uproar from the crowd. The lights continue to flash in unison with the guitar riffs. Richard Garcia screams to the heavens above with excitement and then makes his way down the ramp, slapping the hands of the fans as he passes by.
Once Richard Garcia reaches the bottom of the ramp he rushes towards the ring and slides into the ring before climbing up to the nearest turnbuckle and spreading his arms out, eagle-winged and screaming in excitement.
Richard Garcia jumps off of the turnbuckle and pumps himself up
whilst waiting for his opponent to enter the ring.
Dobrev: And the opponent, from Melbourne, Australia and weighing in at 225 pounds ... JONTY KELLY!
The sound of a bullet being fired echoes through the arena, before Heavy is the Head begins to play. Smoke begins to fill the top of the entrance ramp. Eventually, Kelly bursts through the smoke, wearing a mouth mask with a bullet between teeth design on it. He stops at the top of the entrance ramp, makes a two finger gun on each hand and fires a shot into the crowd on either side of him. As he does so, pyro goes off on either side of him
After making his way down the entrance ramp, Kelly enters the ring and immediately jumps on a turnbuckle and poses, holding up four fingers in his right hand and a two finger gun pointed downward in his left hand. Kelly then climbs down and takes off his mouth mask, ready to fight.
Dobrev: From Tokyo, Japan and weighing in at 235 pounds he is the EWC Indy Champion... KILLJOY ITO!
The lights fade out as ‘Deeper Deeper’ begins to play. A strobe light circles around the stage as a single white spotlight hits the stage where Killjoy Ito is standing, his back facing the ring, his arms stretched out and his head down, the white light turns gold as gold confetti falls from the ceiling. He swings around to face the camera and the ring as his manager ‘The Memphis Mouthpiece’ Tommy Love walks out onto the stage, his custom tennis racket in the air. Tommy points to the championship around the Killjoy's waist and smiles. He leads Killjoy to the ring as the fans heckle him but reach out to touch Killjoy. Tommy Love walks up the steps first and enters the ring and walks the ring with his ‘Love Stick’ held high in the air, he threatens the referee with it and tells him to call the match clean as Killjoy climbs into the ring and walks to the center of the ring. He stretches out his arms and tilts his head back and soaks in the cheers from the fans before removing his jacket and hands it to Tommy Love and then unhooks the championship and holds it up into the air as Tommy exits the ring and stands ringside.
DING DING DING
All four men circle each other before Jonty and Garcia both Superkick Ito knocking him out of the ring. JFS grabs Jonty hitting him with a Reverse DDT before turning his attention to Garcia and hitting him with a knee strike to the gut and a series of Elbow strikes that knock him back into the corner before grabbing Garcia’s head and ramming it into the opposite turnbuckle pad. JFS turns around right into a Spinebuster from Jonty before he and Garcia hit JFS with a double Suplex before Ito flies from almost nowhere landing on Jonty with a top rope Splash. Ito runs at Garcia who lifts ito into the air and catches Ito with a straight Right to the jaw as Ito lands on his feet. Ito staggers into the corner behind him only for Garcia to Irish Whip him so hard into the opposite corner that Ito rebounds right back out and is caught by a Clothesline by Garcia. JFS runs at Garcia but gets caught with a Back Body Drop before Jonty Dropkicks Garcia right in the face. Jonty tries to stand but Ito grabs him by the ankle and pulls him backwards befrore hitting Jonty with a low Dropkick to the skull. JFS flies across the ring catching Ito in the chest with an Elbow Drop. JFS then lifts Ito to his feet and attempts to apply a Guillotine Choke but Ito catches JFS’ legs and uses them to hit a Backdrop into a Suplex. Everyone is down. Aiello: What an opening to this match!
Sydney: Ito’s still going to win.
Amsler: Well right now he’s flat on the canvas. The way I see it, this match is as open as your mouth is.
Ito stretches an arm to make a cover on JFS but Garcia catches Ito’s arm and pushes it away. Garcia then lifts Ito for a Suplex but drops Ito, almost like a standing Falcon Arrow, onto JFS. Jonty grabs Garcia and spins him round but Garcia is ready with a right hand which Jonty ducks before running off the ropes and coming back with a Running Clothesline. Ito is back on his feet and he grabs Jonty and headbutts him. Ito slips behind Jonty ad lifts him for a German Suplex that Jonty manages to roll out of landing on his feet. Now behind Ito, Jonty tries to lock in a Dragon Suplex but Ito slips to the ground to counter the move before raising his feet to try and roll up Jonty only for Jonty to grab Ito’s left ankle for an Ankle Lock. Ito screams in pain but the Ankle Lock is broken up by JFS who charges at Jonty with a Clothesline. JFS then catches Jonty with a European Uppercut that knocks him to the canvas before rolling to the outside. JFS turns his attentions to Ito lifting him to his feet and almost dumping him in the corner. JFS runs at Ito with a Freakin’ Boot attempt. Ito manages to catch and counter JFS hitting a Powerbomb that sends JFS rolling to the outside. Ito then turns and eats a Superkick by Garcia who makes a cover.

Kick Out. Ito manages to push Garcia off himself at the last second.
Aiello: Almost a new champion right there!
Sydney: Almost a... Killjoy Ito wasn’t even phased by that move. He simply took a couple of seconds to rest, you’ll see.
Amsler: You keep telling yourself that. Maybe you and Tommy Love, who nearly fainted a second ago, will start to believe it.
Garcia punches the mat in frustration before getting to his feet. He lifts Ito to his feet and hits a Stunner but Ito manages to roll out of the ring before Garcia can cover him. From the other side of the ring, Jonty slips back in and applies an Ankle Lock this time to Garcia. Garca screams in pain and reaches for a rope before the hold is broken up by an Axe Handle from JFS. JFS then hits Jonty with a series of Forearm Strikes and a Side Suplex. As JFS gets back to his feet, Ito’s back in the ring and he grabs JFS from behind with a Bridging Tiger Suplex for the

As JFS rolls out of the ring, Garcia Superkicks Ito in the chest before hitting a Stunner. Before he is able to make a cover, Jonty grabs Garcia and throws him over the top rope and out of the ring. Aiello: How is he doing this?
Sydney: Ito? Because he’s the champion going into this match and no matter what they hit him with he’ll be the champion going out.
Amsler: Yeah, right.
This time it’s Jonty that punches the mat in anger. Jonty lifts Ito off the canvas and leads him to the corner where he attempts a Tornado DDT. Ito pushes Jonty off him mid move only for Jonty to run off the ropes and catch Ito with a Spear. Thinking Run N Gun, Jonty runs at Ito only for JFS to slip back into the ring and catch Jonty with a Spinebuster before catching Ito with a Lariat. Garcia grabs JFS from behind with a Dragon Sleeper only for Jonty to use JFS as a ramp to run up and hit Garcia with the Run N Gun. Before he can make a cover Ito pulls Jonty School Boy like into a roll but allows Jonty to get back to his feet where Ito hits a Fireman’s Carry into a Gutbuster. Ito then walks right into a Superkick by Garcia. JFS then runs at Garcia hitting him with a European Uppercut and a Fallaway Slam. JFS gets to his feet and looks at all three fallen opponents before picking Ito off the canvas and hitting a Fisherman Suplex that he bridges into a pin

It’s broken up, in the nick of time, by Garcia.
Aiello: Very nearly an Indy Title win for the TV Champion.
Sydney: Never thought I’d say this but thank the gods for Richard Garcia!
Amsler: Champion going in, champion going out you said. Still standing by that?
JFS gets to his feet and turns his attentions to Garcia only for Ito to spin JFS and lift him for a Last Ride. JFS manages to slip out of it before hitting Ito with a Lariat and a Fallaway Slam that knocks Ito into a now on his feet Garcia sending both over the top rope and to the floor. As JFS watches both men land on the arena floor he doesn’t see Jonty sneaking up behind him. JFS turns around and at the last minute he sees and ducks a JK47. He catches a still spinning Jonty with a clothesline! Garcia rolls back into the ring and right into a Sharpeknife! JFS makes the cover!

Dobrev: And your winner, via pinfall and the NEW EWC Indy Champion JORDAN FREAKING SHARPE!JFS raises his arms in the air victorious but remains seated. Only when the referee hands him the Indy Title and Television Title does JFS get to his feet. He looks at the titles in his hands before raising them above his head. A dazed Garcia rolls out of the ring and heads to the back. Tommy Love is yelling at the ref and Jonty is just shaking his head, fuming. JFS leaves the ring.
Aiello: He’s done it! The second longest reigning TV Champion is now also the Indy Champion!
Sydney: Probably not for long. Tommy Love just told me that he is going straight to Marshall Evans as Sharpe never actually pinned Killjoy Ito. So this result will either be overturned or Killjoy Ito will have his rematch maybe at the next Prime.
Amsler: I’d say don’t hold your breath but...
Aiello: While Cid goes a Prime shade of blue, up next we have a word from...
The MacTron lights up, and we see Melody Malone backstage, flanked by both Vanessa and Ace Heart. She’s got her ring gear, and her crown on before Ace begins.
Ace Heart: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest… she’s a member of America’s Most Hated… The Queen of EWC… Melody Malone!
The Texas crowd isn’t exactly behind the former FSW Champion, but she takes it in stride with a smirk to their boos.
Melody Malone: Well hello to you too, TCU.
Ace Heart: So, the Rumble later tonight… how do you feel going in? I mean, I’ve heard some things…
Melody quirks an eyebrow before brushing back a lock of hair and adjusting her crown with a chuckle.
Melody Malone: I’m sure you have. Everyone’s been talking all weekend, haven’t they? And I know they say talk is cheap, but it’s really gotten me thinking you know? So, I know it might seem… out of character, for me but if I’m going to represent Rampage as the Queen of EWC, then why not an act of charity or two while I’m here? So earlier today, I made a stop at the Humane Society of North Texas… and on behalf of every person who decided to make my entry into the Rumble into a joke.
Because here’s the thing Ace. They can crack all the jokes they want, they can get as foul as they want talking about the backseat of my Lexus… at the end of the day? Everyone has been more focused on whether I am or I’m not involved with the Undisputed champion. In fact? They’re forgetting about the fact that I’m a former champion in my own right and I’m about to remind them all of that in the Rumble… tonight.
She looks ready to walk away, but pauses before shooting a look at the camera.
Melody Malone: In fact… I’ve decided that on behalf of every person I eliminate tonight? There’ll be more money pouring into the Humane Society. Every allegation? Every cute little quip? They’re all going to get receipts for ‘em tonight. Although…. Scorpio was right about one thing. I really do love the sweet smell of leather and gold in the morning. The hair gel is just a bonus.
Ace’s face freezes before Melody smirks, heading off screen with Vanessa in tow before Heart finally puts two and two together as the cameras cut back to ringside.

AMERICA'S MOST HATED
VS REBELLE
Aiello: ... we’re only half way through the night but already its been intriguing to say the least! So let’s continue with the action shall we? Up next the EWC Tag Team championships are on the line as ReBelle defend the titles against America’s Most Hated’s Iggy Swango and the Queen Melody Malone.
Sydney: It’s the battle of the EWCs two queens here tonight as far as i’m concerned! This match between ReBelle and AMH has been on the cards for a while now but recently its began to heat up. Ever since Melody Malone made the jump to Rampage, her and Scorpio have been butting heads and I’ve loved every second of it!
Amsler: I bet you have, but for a change I have to agree with you Cid. Two weeks ago Melody defeated Scorpio one on one on Rampage, and then on BRAWL last week after Melody’s victory over Kendrick Kross, Scorpio blindsided her in the ring hitting an AGR, and then he tried to choke Melody out with his signature hairdryer that he calls Vidal! If it wasn’t for Iggy making the save and chasing ReBelle away then who knows if Melody would have even been fit enough to compete tonight! I’m telling you tensions are high for this one.
The lights dim, but don’t go dark before the soft words of Billie Eilish begin to play over the P.A. system.
Bite my tongue bide my time
Wearing a warning sign
Wait till the world is mine
Visions I vandalize
Cold in my kingdom size
Fell for these ocean eyes
As the chorus hits, a bright flash of pyro explodes from the base of the Mac Tron and Melody Malone stands on the stage, flanked by her manager Vanessa. Melody stands with a crown atop her head as a spotlight follows them down to the ring.
Dobrev: The following match is scheduled for one fall and it is for the EWC Tag team championships... Introducing first and representing Americas Most Hated... making her way to the ring, accompanied by Vanessa… she is the QUEEN of EWC... MELODY MALONE!!
You should see me in a crown
I'm gonna run this nothing town
Watch me make 'em bow
One by one by one
One by one by
Vanessa climbs the stairs first, holding the ropes open as Melody follows and steps through with her chin held up to keep the crown atop her head. She gives the crowd a sarcastic smile as they boo, and she gingerly removes the crown from her head and hands it off to Vanessa as she exits.
You should see me in a crown
Your silence is my favorite sound
Watch me make 'em bow
One by one by one
One by one by one
The lights come back up to full brightness, and Melody has her gloves tugged into place as she rakes her hair back and waits for the arrival of her partner.
Dobrev: And her partner, standing in at five feet seven inches tall, weighing at one hundred and forty-five pounds, from San Francisco, California, representing AMERICAS MOST HATED... IGGY SWANGO!!
Dance Party Plus by Head Automatica hits the arena as the lights dim low before strobing between red and the pitch blackness of the arena. Just as the loud guitar riffs echo throughout the arena the lights starts pulsing red and Iggy Swango emerges from behind the curtain as smog engulfs her. She stands at the top of the stage for a few moments as she nods her head to the rhythm of the music. Joining her on the stage is her trainer Tao Ohashi, who trails slowly behind.
Iggy starts bouncing on the stage and rocking out with an air bass playing along with the music before making her way down the ramp. She throws the devil horns with her hands and sticks out her tongue taunting her fans as Red and Black confetti streamers come raining down from above on her way down to the ring. Iggy rolls under the bottom rope and pops up on her knees in the middle of the ring. She slowly stands her to her feet before raising her hands into the air.
Dobrev: And there opponents... Please welcome, at a combined weight of 342 lbs, accompanied by Crème de la Crème, they are the EWC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS... the team of 'The Rebel Child' Georgie Nickles and 'The S-Factor' Scorpio... REBELLE!
The arena lights go down to just a spotlight on the stage, and the fans give a huge cheer as 'Vogue (Metal Cover) by Leon Moracchioli hits the speakers. Initially only Crème de la Crème steps out, dressed in a sequinned and bejewelled army general's outfit, and carrying a flag with the raised fist of the revolution on one side and the rainbow of LGBTQ+ pride on the other. The curtain parts again and the cheers grow even louder as Georgie Nickles and Scorpio step out, flanking Crème. The pair salute to one another before Scorpio struts down the ramp like a catwalk model and Nickles slaps hands with some of the fans. The pair hit the ring together and climb in, meeting in the middle as they stand back-to-back and stare down the camera. They take a corner each and wave the fans, posing for them and pointing out some supportive signs. Finally they re-group in the middle again as Scorpio throws a vogue-like pose as Nickles folds her arms staring down the camera lens. Behind them Crème de la Crème waves the ReBelle flag with vigour.
DING DING DING
As soon as the bell rings Scorpio and Malone start the match for there respective teams, and they are in each other’s faces, talking trash. Scorpio shoves his open hand right in Melody’s face which doesn’t go down to well with the Queen, as she smashes into Scorpios face with her forearm. Scorpio responds with a strike of his own, as the two lay into each other with multiple punches and kicks.Meanwhile The camera catches Swango and Nickles standing near each other on the ring apron, seemingly having a friendly chat with one another.
Sydney: What in the blue hell are those two spamheads up to? This is a fight club not a social club!
Amsler: Well I believe they’re letting the two queens settle there differences inside the ring! I don’t see a problem with that.
In the ring, Malone grabs a hold of Scorpios hair and runs him towards the ropes, throwing him straight over the top to the outside, causing some of the Texan fans to actually cheer!
Amsler: Oh my! Melody Malone just launched Scorpio right over the top rope! Is that a bit of foreshadowing i sense for the rumble match later on tonight?
Malone leans over the ropes and blows Scorpio a kiss, looking very pleased with herself. Scorpios face is filled with rage as he charges back into the ring, Malone attempts a dropkick which he dodges. With Malone on the mat, Scorpio kicks her in the back of the head, then he pulls her to her feet and grabbing a hold of Malone’s hair he runs her towards ropes and now it’s Scorpios turn to launch Malone straight over the top rope to the outside as the fans let out an even louder cheer. Scorpio kisses his lips before pointing at Malone and then slapping his ass cheek.
Aiello: Now it’s Scorpios turn to throw Melody Malone right over the top rope! And I believe he just told her to kiss his behind! How rude.
On the outside Malone has gotten into an argument with Crème, both of them in each other’s faces. Scorpio has seen enough as he exits the ring and runs at Malone, tackling her to the floor.
Malone and Scorpio are now rolling around on the outside, exchanging stiff blow after blow to each other. The ref is counting them out and he’s up to five as Swango jumps down from the apron, and at the same time Nickles comes around the ring, both of them pulling there partners away from each other.
Malone rolls into the ring and tags Swango in as ReBelle also regroup in there corner, with Scorpio tagging Nickles in, but not before he turns around and shouts some explicit insults towards Malone in the opposite corner.
Aiello: The start of this match has resembled more of a street fight than an actual wrestling match!
Sydney: Those queens can fight, no doubt about that! They wanna rip each other apart, and I say let them!
Amsler: I thought for a minute Crème was gonna claw Melody’s eyes out. Anyway let’s watch Georgie Nickles and Iggy Swango do battle shall we! This’ll be good.
Nickles and Swango give each other a somewhat respectful nod before they lock up. Nickles whips Swango off of the ropes, and as Swango comes back towards at Nickles she ducks a clothesline attempt and spins around her. Swango jumps and grabs Nickles from behind, hitting a nasty looking backstabber. Swango goes for the early pin as the ref counts...

Swango pulls Nickles to her feet and whips her into the corner where her partner Malone is situated. Swango tags Malone, then Malone drops down to one knee and the camera catches her mouthing the words “watch this” towards Scorpio as Swango grabs a handful of Nickles hair. Swango takes a short run, then she leaps in the air she brings Nickles head straight down onto Malone’s knee. Nickles looks to be out cold as Malone eyeballs Scorpio with a sly smile on her face as she crawls slowly over Nickles for the pin.

Aiello: I’m impressed with Iggy and Melody right now!
Sydney: You pervert.
Aiello: Excuse me? I’m merely stating that they are working well as team early on here. Get your mind out of the gutter CID.
The camera zooms in on the announce table for a second as Aiello glares at Sydney while Amsler tries her hardest not to laugh.
Back in the ring Scorpio is leaning across the ropes shouting words of encouragement towards Nickles as Malone kicks Nickles in the head a few times before hitting a standing moonsault on her. Swango urges Malone to attempt another pin but Malone instead decides to climb the top turnbuckle. With Nickles still flat on her back, Malone takes a second to compose herself before leaping high in the air with a top rope leg drop but Nickles rolls out of the way at the last second and Malone lands on the mat, holding her back in pain.
Nickles is on her stomach now trying to regain energy as Malone extends her hand over to her partner, with Swango making the tag. Nickles pulls herself to her feet, reaching an arm out to tag Scorpio... but Swango comes for behind and cracks her in the back of the head with her forearm before she can tag. Swango whips Nickles off of the opposite ring ropes, looking for a clothesline as she comes back at her but Nickles ducks under Swangos arm and continues to run, bouncing off of the ropes as Swango turns towards her Nickles lunges forward and hits a sick looking spear on Swango which has the electric crowd off of there feet and cheering.
Aiello: Georgie Nickles has been on the back foot for large spells of this match with the double teaming from Malone and Swango but she’s just pulled a rabbit out of the hat with that spear!
Amsler: Couldn’t agree more, that has just bought her some time but can she make the tag to Scorpio?
Nickles is flat on her back breathing hard as Scorpio does his best to encourage her to make the tag. Malone is doing the same in her corner, as she urges Swango on. Nickles pushes herself to her knees and crawls over to her corner, the fans on the edge of there seats as she throws herself towards Scorpios hand... but Malone comes from nowhere with a flying dropkick, smashing into Scorpio and sending him falling backwards off of the ring apron, he crashes back first straight into the barricade on the outside.
Before Nickles has a chance to get to her feet, Malone has her in a head lock, and using the ring ropes as leverage she spins around and hits a tornado DDT on Nickles. Malone pulls Nickles towards the corner, jumping onto the turnbuckle, she throws herself off and lands on Nickles with a Corkscrew senton from the corner. Malone makes the pin...

Nickles cries in pain, rolling around the ring holding her back as Swango and Malone share a fist bump.
Nickles pulls herself to the corner which gives Swango an opening as she charges at Nickles and hits her trademark running hip attack. Swango pulls Nickles to the center of the ring and makes the pin...

THR...Nickles again gets a shoulder up! Swango can’t quite believe it and neither m can Malone as she shakes her head in annoyance.
Aiello: This is what the tag team championships mean to Georgie Nickles! She’s a warrior with the heart of a lion, she will not give up.
Sydney: I admire her fight but if this assault by Melody and Iggy continues then she won’t last much longer.
As Swango gets to her feet Scorpio slides into the ring, before she can react he hits her with an Enzuigiri and then he kips up to his feet. Scorpio then drags Nickles over to there corner and gets back onto the ring apron. Swango, meanwhile, still dazed stumbles to her corner and makes the tag to Malone, and at the same time Nickles reaches her hand up and makes the tag to Scorpio as he jumps into the ring. The fans are going wild now as Malone and Scorpio slowly approach each other.
Amsler: Here we go, the battle of the bitches continues!
Scorpio slaps Malone so hard across the face that it echoes around the arena. Malone holds her cheek for a moment before she quickly throws her hand at Scorpio and catches him with an even stronger slap. The two then erupt and what follows is a continuous barrage of stiff punches to each other’s face and body, and the crowd are loving it.
Malone kicks Scorpio in the gut and grabs a hold of his head, taking a run and jumping onto the middle ropes she attempts a springboard bulldog but Scorpio grabs a hold of the top rope and Malone is sent falling onto her back. As Malone scrambles to her feet Scorpio springs forward with a super kick... but Malone sees it coming at the last second and her quickness allows her to roll out of the way, causing Scorpio instead to hit the super kick on the referee who was right behind Malone.
Amsler: Scorpio has just accidentally smashed the referee with a super kick!
As Scorpio stares down on the referee who’s out cold Malone leaps onto the ropes and springboards off of them towards Scorpio who seems to have eyes in the back of his head as he leaps in the air just as Malone comes at him, and he manages to hit an AGR in mid-air!! Scorpio makes the pin.... but the referee is out cold!
Aiello: Scorpio with the AGR in mid-air and surely he’s got the win for ReBelle but it doesn’t matter because the referee has gone for a early nap!
The crowd are counting along with the pin but Scorpio has had enough as he bangs the mat with his fist in frustration and stands to his feet. Malone looks to be stirring as Scorpio angrily makes the tag to Nickles. Malone surprises them by leaping towards her corner and making the tag to Swango who rushes in the ring and unleashes a fury of strikes to both members of ReBelle but two on one is too much for Swango and ReBelle regain control.
Scorpio and Nickles catch Swango with there double team kicking combo move they call Bitch Please! Nickles thinks about pinning Swango but the referee is still down and out. Scorpio slides out of the ring and we see him lift the ring apron up, a few second later he emerges, holding his arm up in the air and he has his hairdryer Vidal in his hand!
Sydney: Scorpios got that damn hairdryer with him again! This isn’t going to end well.
Before Scorpio or Nickles have time to react Malone is back on her feet as she gets into the ring and sprints past Nickles towards the side of the ring that Scorpio is at. Malone throws herself through the middle ropes for a suicide dive right on top of Scorpio.
With Scorpio down on the floor, Malone grabs a hold of Vidal and with a wicked smile comes across her face, she wraps the hairdryer cord around Scorpios neck and starts to choke him out.
Aiello: Melody Malone is getting a little bit of revenge for what happened on BRAWL... dear lord she’s choking the life right out of Scorpio!
In the ring, Nickles is distracted by what’s going on outside as Swango reaches up and grabs her from behind, pulling her down to the mat for a roll up pin but the referee is still dazed and confused on the mat. Swango holds the pin for a long as she can but Nickles eventually kicks out.
On the outside, Scorpio is unable to breath so in a desperation move he rakes his fingernails down Malone’s face causing her to let go of Vidal. Scorpio grabs a hold of the hairdryer and cracks it across Malone’s forehead, causing her to collapse onto the announce table. Scorpio falls back onto the floor as he is still struggling to breath.
Back in the ring, Nickles gets to her feet just before Swango. Nickles plants Swango back on the mat with a swinging neckbreaker, she then slowly climbs to the top turnbuckle just as Swango is trying to get to her feet. Nickles leaps towards her, trying to hit her top rope sunset flip finisher Carpe Diem but amazingly Swango manages to use her strength to catch Nickles in mid-air, and reverse the sunset flip into her own finisher an air raid crash neckbreaker she calls Acrobatic Tenament! Swango falls on top of Nickles exhausted, as the referee makes count...

Dobrev: And your winners, via pinfall... and the NEWWWW EWC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS... IGGY SWANGO... MELODY MALONE... AMERICAS MOST HATED!
The ref hands Iggy Swango the tag belts as a brawl breaks out on the outside between Melody Malone and Scorpio. The two are punching and kicking the life out of each other. Nickles rolls out of the ring holding her neck, as her and Crème have to hold Scorpio back. Iggy Swango and Vanessa have to do the same with Melody. Scorpio is heard shouting ‘I’ll see you in the rumble bitch’ as Melody shouts back ‘Yeh you will...” followed by an explicit word that had to be bleeped out. Swango and Malone clutch the titles and make there way up the ramp with Vanessa beside them.
Aiello: I... I don’t know where to start with that match! We have new tag champs !! Melody Malone and Iggy Swango did it. What a rollercoaster ride we just witnessed.
Sydney: It was, we had referees being knocked out, hair dryers being used, we had great wrestling and even better brawls! ReBelle were unlucky tonight, at one point Scorpio had the win but the referee was out cold, and what a finish! Iggy Swangos reversal of the sunset flip into her own finisher was a thing of beauty.
Amsler: Yup and judging by what’s transpired after the match, clearly the rumble is on both Melody and Scorpios minds! I shudder to think what might happened later tonight if they come face to face again.
Aiello: We will need extra security out here that’s for sure! Anyway folks up next is what can best be described as a wrestling fans wet dream. Ace King versus Morgan Darkwater, and the EWC United States Championship is on the line! Don’t go anywhere!

The MacTron flickers and the letter disappears as we cut to the backstage area
The camera cuts backstage to Xavier Reid’s locker room where Nikki Dupree and Tlatoani Volando are sitting
Dupree: I’m going with Samantha Hamilton, listen, her and the other Shieldmaidens will be looking to send a message
But Tlatoani shakes his head no
Volando: I get that but I’m going with Melody Malone
Nikki smiles and nods
Dupree: Yeah that’s a good pick
Xavier looks over at them
Reid: What the hell are you two talking about?
Nikki sort of looks away but Tlatoani speaks up
Volando: We are debating on who is going to eliminate you tonight? I’m saying Melody and you finish in 8th place and Nikki here thinks Samantha Hamilton and you finish in 13th place
Nikki looks at Xavier and shrugs
Dupree: Sorry Xavier
Volando: And I got Scorpio going wire to wire for the win while Nikki here is going outside the box and taking Tommy Love
Dupree: Killjoy Ito
Volando: To win it all for Prime
Reid: So neither of you have me going that far?
Nikki and Tlatoani look at Xavier
Volando: Just playing the odds Xavier and your ppv track record, listen you’ve had a good year just not at ppv so why would tonight be any different.
Dupree: We are rooting for you Xavier, we really are but every time we get to a ppv we expect you to break through and we end up disappointed
Reid: Yeah well it will be nice not to have to worry about getting a chair to the head by your partner tonight
Dupree: That was an…
Reid: Accident...I know but YOU cost me that match against Luke and Annabelle and I’m just glad YOU aren’t in the Rumble
Volando: Unless...SHE’S the surprise entry…
Tlatoani looks at Nikki who sheepishly shrugs her shoulders
Reid: And if you are I’ll toss your ass out of the ring also, listen, this year started off with so much hype and I was on a hot streak but I cooled down, I get it but tonight is the perfect night to remind people that Xavier Reid is ready for that next step, to add his name to the list of greats here in the EWC to have won the Rumble and punch my ticket to WrestleFest. I know the last people around here want to see is Xavier Reid in the Main Event of another ppv but that’s just what they are going to get when I toss out 39 other EWC stars...now what do you think about that?
Tlatoani looks over at Nikki
Volando: Yeah I’m still going with Scorpio…
Dupre: Killjoy Ito,Ii mean it was a nice speech and all…
Reid: Fuck you two, when I win you can sit and home and watch WrestleFest…
Xavier walks past Nikki and Tlatoani and exits the room
UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
[SINGLES MATCH]
MORGAN DARKWATER
VS ACE KING
We return to ringside where Nina Dobrev is stood in the middle of the ring, and the tron videos are showing us it’s time for the US Championship match.
Aiello: Well here we have it folks, it’s day 700 of Ace King’s incredible run as the US Champion, and tonight he comes up against a tried and tested star in Captain Morgan Darkwater.
Sydney: Oh good lord wake me up when this one’s done; two smiling goodie-goodies who no doubt will be falling over each other to let the other man try and pin them. YAWN.
Amsler: You know what pirates do best?! Steal treasure! Perhaps tonight Morgan will be stealing what’s been Ace King’s for so long… me hearty… sorry, couldn’t resist.
Dobrev: The following match is a singles match for the EWC United States Championship! Joining us first, from abord the Winds of Fortune, weighing in at 285 pounds... CAPTAIN MORGAN DARKWATER!
The lights in the arena cut out as first notes of Captain Morgan's entrance theme, "The Sunk'n Norwegian", kick in and the screens around entrance fade in to the image of a perpetually burning skull-n-crossbones flag rippling in the wind.
A spotlight rises as Morgan saunters confidently out on the stage, holding an old-fashioned iron grenade in one hand, the fuse lit and sparkling. He laughs maniacally and throws it at his feet, where it explodes with a boom of pyros and smoke.
When the smoke clears he is holding a wooden tankard aloft, bellowing "One More Fight!" and takes a heavy gulp of the dark grog, liquid and froth splashing out down his thick black beard. Tossing it over his shoulder, he laughs again and starts marching purposefully down the ramp. He enters the ring over top ropes, climbs the nearest turnbuckle and unsheathes his cutlass, holding it aloft with a raucous battle-cry.
As Captain Darkwater continues to pump up the crowd in the ring, the cameras cut to the Amon G. Carter Stadium tunnel, where Ace King eventually comes into view from around the corner, the United States Championship draped over his shoulder as he glares ahead, his game face on in full force.
Ace King: It’s been a long time coming, hasn’t it? Morgan Darkwater… Ace King… Some on the outside would call this a dream match for all the times our paths have intersected, especially early on. Me? I don’t… Or at least, I can’t, not right this second. Dreams, they allow the mind to wander, but they can also turn into nightmares with even the slightest misstep.
Ace takes a brief look down at the championship he’s carried to the point of having a permanent indent in the leather.
Ace King: Not even in my wildest dreams could I have expected this to go on for so long… Anyone sick of my rambling on this subject should probably cover their ears, but this is my seven-hundredth day as United States Champion… The longest reign of ANY champion of ANY kind in EWC history. A lot of things, both good and bad, have happened to get me here, no doubt, but in no way do I see tonight as the night I’m forced to wake up and face reality.
Fighting back an uncharacteristic bit of pre-match emotion, the United States Champion takes a few steps to his left, bringing him face-to-face with a wall of text.
Ace King: Inspirational quotes like these are one thing, but being able to back it up when it matters, while a matter of weakness for me in numerous other situations, is ultimately what separates the good from the great. I’m glad you brought the sword out there, Captain, because you have to be willing to fucking DIE by it to take the United States Championship from me tonight, because as long as I’m breathing, I… won’t… stop… fighting.
‘The Gambler’ draws a sharp breath, bows his head, then runs his hand along the ‘FIGHT 'EM UNTIL HELL FREEZES OVER, THEN FIGHT 'EM ON THE ICE’ quote painted on the wall before taking his mark at the entrance, closing his eyes and listening to the beckoning fans while he waits for the words he’s heard so many times before…
Dobrev: And his/her opponent, from Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing in at 235 pounds ... HE IS THE EWC UNITED STATES CHAMPION… AAAAAAAAACE KIIIIIIIIIIING!
The crowd hears Lemmy's growl, and they go nuts as the opening bass line to 'Ace of Spades' rips through The Amon G Carter Stadium. As the drums kick in, pyro goes off up and down the ramp in time with the beat, while frenetic red and gold spotlights pulse through the building before fixating on the ramp.
There's a huge explosion as the guitar kicks in, and the crowd roars as the one and only Ace King rises from a platform through the smoke of the pyro and into the spotlights, soaking in the ovation with his championship draped over his shoulder. 'The Gambler' stays on a knee, taking the title down to look at it for a few seconds. He takes a deep breath and walks to the ring, calmly interacting with fans all the way down the ramp.
He stops for a couple seconds at the end of the ramp, then charges to the ring, with gold pyro exploding from the turnbuckles as he dives in under the bottom rope. He spins up onto one knee and stares out into the crowd before getting to his feet and hoisting his championship up for all to see. Once he hands the belt to the referee, he gets his game face on while staring a hole through his opponent.
Aiello: Well folks, this is shaping up to be a hell of a contest. After losing the Undisputed Championship Ace King has re-committed to focusing on his US Championship legacy – and it’s already a hell of a legacy he has! But can he make it even bigger, even more impressive, in the face of stiff competition from Morgan?
DING DING DING
The crowd are raring to go with this one as the referee shows both men the United States Championship, before handing it off to ringside. As we kick off King and Darkwater stare one another down from their respective corners, before slowly circling the ring, getting closer and closer. Just before they lock-up a smile develops on Darkwater’s face, and he throws a hand out in a sign of sportsmanship – King nods his head and shakes it, much to the crowd’s delight. King then nods once more, signalling he’s ready to get going with this one, and the pair lock up; they jostle for position, with Darkwater getting the upper-hand as he pulls King for a headlock, the size advantage working for him in the early moments. King tries to fight free as Darkwater slams a fist into his locked head, before twisting King round into an armlock, which he converts into a hammerlock. Darkwater then hauls the US Champion up, bringing him down hard with a back suplex! King immediately rolls up to his feet, showing signs of frustration, as Morgan raises an eyebrow as if suggesting that the champion had under-estimated him. King signals for another lock-up and this time King is quick off the bat to duck Darkwater’s arm and twist him into an armlock! King almost seems to be mocking Darkwater – but before he can react the Captain backhands him, breaking the lock and taking advantage!King clutches his face in pain shakes his head, before turning back and signalling a third time for a lock-up. The Captain shrugs and does as is asked, the pair jostling for position once again. Darkwater manages to twist King into another headlock, but this time the Champ is ready for it, and drives a hard elbow into his back! Morgan’s hold breaks and he stumbles forward, turning around right into a dropkick from Ace King! It sends Darkwater stumbling back into the ropes, and as he comes forward King grabs his head, rolling him up in a small package pin attempt early on – ONE… TWO… T—kickout just in time from Darkwater, and as the two men get to their feet this time it’s King raising an eyebrow and showing he has no intentions of being underestimated. Darkwater nods his head, almost congratulating the United States Champion. Looking to re-pay the favour Darkwater comes tearing across the ring at King, catching him with a spinning back elbow which knocks him to the mat, and Morgan drives a hard elbow down on his chest, before he applies a grounded front facelock wearing King down. He then hauls Ace up and drives a hard elbow down on King’s back, before he falls back and plants the champion with a DDT!
Aiello: Well in the early going Captain Morgan Darkwater has really taken this one to Ace King, and it seems he’s frustrating the champion.
Sydney: Typical Ace King, relies on being ‘the man’ and as soon as someone comes to challenge him he completely balks… pathetic if you ask me…
Amsler: Don’t remember anyone actually asking you, Cid! And I wouldn’t count Ace out just yet – he’s been through his fair share of trials and tribulations as the United States Champion, a couple of lock-up struggle wins from Darkwater isn’t going to knock him off his game!
Ace King uses the ropes to get himself back to his feet, and as he turns around Darkwater lands a kick to his gut. He then hooks King and hauls him up, looking for a powerslam, only for King to manage to elbow his way free and drop down behind Darkwater. As the Captain spins around King lands another dropkick, sending him back into the turnbuckles, and before Morgan can react Ace follows it up with a hard flying knee to the Captain’s head! With Darkwater stunned King drags him out and plants him face-first into the mat with a big bulldog, and as Morgan’s laid face-down King pushes himself to his feet and lands a knee drop to the back of his head, trying to soften his over-sized opponent up. The Champ then takes a moment to raise a hand to the crowd, and gets rapturous applause from his beloved EWC fans, while Morgan Darkwater struggles back to his feet. He holds his head in pain and gives King a ‘well done’ expression. King looks to follow it up as he storms across the ring at Darkwater, throwing a clothesline – but Darkwater catches the arm! He charges King back, slamming him into the turnbuckles, before he uses the held arm to send King back to the middle of the ring with an arm drag! King rolls off his shoulder and gets to his feet, looking a little dazed at the reversal, before he turns around – right into a devastating running big boot from Morgan Darkwater! The United States Champion hits the deck and Darkwater’s immediately on him – ONE… TWO… THRE—NO! KICKOUT! The crowd are alive with noise as Darkwater’s eyes widen!
Aiello: DARKWATER ALMOST HAD IT! Mere minutes into this match and the 700 day streak almost ended!
Amsler: … if that’s how this one’s going to go, I think we might need some adult diapers out here at ringside. I almost lost control!
Sydney: Ew, Jesus, gross.
Darkwater gives a curt nod, realising he’s going to have to do more to claim the United States Championship, but recognising how close he came. He stares down at King and looks to slam a closed-fist punch to the downed champion’s face – before he thinks better of it and hauls Ace up. He looks to the corner and drops down to charge a shoulder into King’s gut, slamming him back into the turnbuckles again. He then slams a forearm across King’s face, before he takes the champion’s arm and begins to climb the turnbuckles himself. The crowd get to their feet and begin to cheer, recognising one of Darkwater’s classic moves – and as he reaches the top he begins to walk the ‘plank’! Darkwater balances himself over the rope before leaping off, looking for an elbow – only for King to spring to life, leaping up and catching Morgan with both knees – reversing it into the High Roller! The crowd explodes with surprise as Darkwater falls limply to the side, and King rolls onto him – ONE… TWO… THRE—KICKOUT! JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME! The energy in the stadium is increasing by the second at the big reversal, and King capitalises on his momentum, wasting no time in hauling the Captain to his feet and rallying him with Full House I, a superkick, which sends him back into the ropes as he stumbles right into Full House II, a Raiz! King raises a hand to the fans, showing off 4 fingers, and they cheer loudly knowing what’s coming…
The champion hauls Morgan up to his feet, locking him in a front facelock, before he hooks at Darkwater’s leg and tries to haul him up for the first suplex… but the challenger is a much heavier competitor, and for a moment or two King struggles. He holds his back in pain, dragging Darkwater back in for the facelock, and he hooks the facelock once more as he manages to lift the Captain in the air – only for Darkwater to break free, hook King, and send him flying with a belly-to-belly suplex! King rolls over in pain, holding his back again. He struggles up and stumbles backwards, right into the hands of Darkwater, who spins him around and hauls him up, crashing him into the mat with a powerslam! With King laid out on the mat Darkwater runs off the ropes, leaping up and crashing down on him with a leg drop, right across the champ’s throat! King rolls off to the side, gasping for air, and clings to the ropes as he recovers. The Captain seems to consider going over to continue the assault, before he shakes his head and lets the referee check on King. After a couple of seconds the champ nods his head, getting applause at being still in the match. With King back in it Darkwater wastes no time in restoring his advantage, running off the ropes and flattening him with a big clothesline, before he hauls King up and holds him in a standing headscissors, surveying the crowd who get to their feet… Captain Morgan then hauls the champion up onto his shoulder – and throws him forward with a huge jack-knife powerbomb! King crumples to the mat…
Aiello: Darkwater is being a true sportsman in this one, but that doesn’t mean he’s going easy on the champion…
Amsler: Ace King’s getting thrown around like a damn rag-doll!
Sydney: I wouldn’t quite go that far, though that powerbomb WAS impressive!
Captain Morgan drops down on the United States Champion and hooks the leg… ONE… TWO… THR—NO! KING KICKS OUT! The crowd explode for this match going on more as Darkwater shakes his head an drags King up – immediately gripping his throat! Once more the fans are on their feet as Darkwater sneers at his prey and hauls Ace up, looking for the Hangman’s Noose! He lifts King in the air and the champion flails around, doing the gallows dance as Morgan puts it, and Morgan parades around the ring with the champion – only for King to connect with a boot to Darkwater’s head, stunning him enough to escape the move. King then runs off the ropes – only to turn right into a brutal heart punch from Darkwater, knocking him down. The Captain holds his head and neck in pain as he stalks back a few paces, watching Ace carefully as he hauls himself up, and Darkwater runs for another big boot – which Ace King dodges, catching Darkwater in a roll-up attempt – ONE! TWO! THREE—NO! DARKWATER GETS THE SHOULDER UP! Ace slams the mat and pushes himself to his feet, and as Darkwater gets up the champion hooks his head and twists him, slamming him down with a corkscrew neckbreaker. King raises his hand displaying four fingers once again, and the fans cheer as he hauls Darkwater up, and this time gets him right up in the air, driving him down with a vertical suplex! ONE! He rolls to his side, keeping the facelock in, and drags Darkwater up, and right down into another vertical suplex – TWO! King roars in pain, briefly holding his back, before he drags Morgan up again, lifting him up high – THRE—NO! DARKWATER LANDS AN ELBOW AND BREAKS FREE, BEFORE HOOKING ACE AND HAULING HIM UP FOR HIS BRUTAL BURNING HAMMER – AND HE LANDS THE KEELHAUL!
The crowd are on their feet as Morgan Darkwater stamps on the mat, and rolls King over, grabbing both his legs and pressing his knees into his already painful back before rolling back and lifting King into the air – IT’S THE KEEL-HOLD! The crowd are at fever-pitch as the United States Champion roars out in pain louder than ever, and Darkwater wrenches back, putting all his considerable weight into stretching out the back! Ace King looks in absolute agony as Darkwater sneers at him and pulls back harder than before, looking to make Ace tap…
Aiello: How cruel would it be for the 700-day champion to be forced to give up his title?!
Sydney: Sounds like a fitting finish to me… TAP! TAP! TAP! TAP!
Ace tries to steel himself as Darkwater shouts out, showing all the might he’s putting into the bow and arrow stretch. King’s right hand begins to tremble, and the fans roar with noise as it seems like he’s seconds away from submitting, before he clenches a fist and places it in his mouth, biting down to try and cope with the pain. Darkwater begins to rock back and forth, shifting the pressure, and as the referee asks whether he wants to give up King shakes his head, before removing his hand and screaming “NO!” to the delight of the fans. King then goes wide-eyed, and as Darkwater rocks back and forth he manages to use the momentum to break a leg free of the hold! With the purchase on the mat he pushes himself up, breaking entirely free, though clearly it’s taken its toll. King pushes himself to his feet, holding his back in pain as he reaches to the ropes for support. He takes a deep breath as Darkwater rolls to his feet too, and as Ace turns around he’s met with a big kick to the gut from Morgan, who the drops him with a simple DDT. He then looks to the corner, and makes a cut-throat gesture, before he drags King nearer the corner and climbs to the top rope. Darkwater raises a hand to the fans, before leaping off – FOR HIS WINDS OF FORTUNE DIVING ELBOW DROP!
-- BUT ACE KING ROLLS TOWARDS THE ROPE JUST IN TIME FOR DARKWATER TO CRASH AND BURN! The United States Champion leaps to his feet, and looks from the challenger, to the corner, and back again, with a glint in his eye. He climbs the turnbuckles, getting to the top rope, and turning around just as Darkwater struggles up to his feet, bent-double as he turns around – AND ACE KING LEAPS OFF, CATCHING DARKWATER IN A STANDING HEADSCISSORS BEFORE HE FLIPS – HAULING THE MASSIVE CHALLENGER FOR WILD CARD! KING LEAPS ON DARKWATER AND HOOKS THE LEG… ONE… TWO… THREE— KICKOUT! KICKOUT AT THE LAST MILLISECOND!
Aiello: I can’t believe it! Ace has broken free of the Keel-Hold, and now Morgan’s kicked out of the Wild Card!
Amsler: This one’s EXPLOSIVE!
The stadium is alive with commotion at the series of moves as Ace sits up shaking his head, seemingly having not expected any kind of kick-out from it. He pushes himself to his feet and stares around the arena, soaking up the atmosphere, before he – for a third time – raises a hand with four fingers! He drags Morgan to his feet and hooks him, hauling him for a vertical suplex – ONE! With no delay he rolls off to the side and lifts Darkwater again, lifting him clean up before slamming him down – TWO! Wasting no time King drags his challenger up again, managing to get him up for a third time, dropping him with another vertical suplex – THREE! The crowd are counting along as King takes a moment or two, exhausted by the match, and he hauls Darkwater to his feet before lifting him straight up, this time delaying for a second or two – BEFORE DROPPING WITH ANOTHER VERTICAL SUPLEX! FOUR! HE COMPLETES FOUR OF A KIND! King drops down on Darkwater and hooks the leg… ONE… TWO… THRE—MORGAN GETS THE SHOULDER UP, AND THE CROWD EXPLODES AGAIN!
Aiello: King at last manages to connect with Four Of A Kind, and it has to be said, these two men have given it EVERYTHING!
Amsler: I mean, this crowd hasn’t sat down since the bell rang… what a performance…
Sydney: Oh come on how many more kickouts can there be?! There’s a Rumble for Stitches to win for God’s sake – GET ON WITH IT!
King looks broken by not scoring the win yet, and shakes his head in disbelief, before he pushes to his knees and then to his feet. He screams at Morgan Darkwater to get up, and The Captain rolls to his front, seemingly oblivious to the shouts, before pressing up and getting to his own knees. Unsteadily Darkwater stands, holding his head in pain, and King sneers before he stalks behind the Captain – AND HOOKS HIM, LOOKING TO GET HIM UP IN THE TORTURE RACK FOR THE BLACKJACK BOMB! THE CROWD ARE ON THEIR FEET AS ACE HAULS HIS CHALLENGER UP – BUT HIS BACK GIVES OUT! THE ROARS OUT IN PAIN AND DROPS DARKWATER, WHO LANDS ON HIS FEET, AND AS ACE TURNS – DARKWATER’S HAND GRIPS HIS THROAT! THE CAPTAIN GOES FOR HIS HANGMAN’S NOOSE AGAIN, HAULING ACE UP – WHO USES THE MOMENTUM TO VAULT OVER THE CAPTAN AND DROP BEHIND HIM! King slams a big elbow into the back of Morgan Darkwater’s neck, stunning him, before Ace drops down and pushes his head between Darkwater’s legs… AND SLOWLY BUT SURELY LIFTS THE MASSIVE CHALLENGER UP! THE CROWD ARE ON THEIR FEET, NOT BELIEVING THEIR EYES, AS ACE KING AND HIS INJURED BACK MANAGE TO GET ALL 285 LBS OF MORGAN DARKWATER UP INTO THE AIR IN THE ELECTRIC CHAIR POSITION, BEFORE HE DROPS – NAILING POCKET ACES! THE STADIUM EXPLODES AS KING COVERS…

DING DING DING
Dobrev: HERE IS YOUR WINNER, AND STILL EWC UNITED STATES CHAMPION – AAAAAAAACE KIIIIIIIIIIIING!King rolls to his knees, looking visibly exhausted and relieved, as a stunned Darkwater looks up at him from the mat.
Aiello: What a contest, what a match, and what a victory… it’s going to over 700 days!
Amsler: Ace King is showing us what a championship reign looks like!
Sydney: I mean with THIS title sure, but can we forget what happened with the Undis—
Amsler: ENOUGH! Ace King is making history every day he holds that title – you don’t get to come here and spout your crap about him, ok?!
The referee hands Ace King his United States Championship and he gets to his feet, raising it above his head to rapturous applause! Behind him Morgan Darkwater gets to his feet, and as Ace turns he finds himself face-to-face with Darkwater, and for a moment there’s tension between the two as King lowers his title and raises an eyebrow. For a few seconds Morgan stares down the winner, before he extends a hand, which King takes, and Morgan raises Ace’s hand congratulating the champion. The Captain then heads to the back with the fans cheering both competitors, leaving King in the ring to celebrate.
