Aiello: Hello everyone and welcome to another exciting edition of Monday Night Brawl! We are just one week away from Youngblood in New Orleans, and we have an exciting night of action ahead of us! I'm Joe Aiello alongside Max Carter and Steve Bennett, and we hope you're as ready as we are!
Carter: That's right Joe, we've got singles action between David Bugle and FSW's Allen Anderson, along with a clash of personalities between Gabrielle Visconty and Rampage's Preston Drake, in a couple clashes between brands of the EWC!
Bennett: And hell, after that the action heats up in triple threat X-Division action, as the hellacious contest between Darius and Xavier Reid from Worcester expands to include the woman who faces Darius in a Blood Bath Match at Youngblood, the Titaness herself, Samantha Hamilton! That's gonna be one hell of an affair...and speaking of affairs, we've got what looks to be a brutal tag affair as the EWC Tag Team Champions face the man they took the titles from in Scorpio, and the double champ King to the Queen of EWC, Cyrus Black! Hot damn, is that gonna be a rough tumble. And then, it all comes down to our main event as Dominic Sanders tries to steal the last of Ace King's joy...along with his United States Championship!
Aiello: That main event is the cherry on top of this sundae of thrilling EWC action, which kicks off after this quick break with David Bugle taking on Allen Anderson!

We start the show backstage, the camera showing the name plate to a locker room door. The “America’s Most Hated” gold placard glistens with the camera on it. As the camera pans, Dominic Sanders is seen listening through the door. A look of stark confusion across his face.
Muffled Voice From The Other Side: I can plow a field all day long!
Dominic pauses and kicks the unconscious security guard at his feet.
Sanders: Who the hell is in there?
The security guard mumbles for a second and finally spits some words.
Security Guard: Big guy… huge…
Sanders places his head in his hands for a moment.
Sanders: Just what I need, fighting a huge guy before Ace…
Muffled Voice: I’d love to spit some beechnut in that dudes eye!!!
Sanders walks down the hall and comes back with a chair. He pauses for a second and throws the door wide open. Dom scanned the dark room, and finally saw a large man wearing a cowboy hat sitting on a folding chair. The man stopped singing and sat quietly. The silhouette of a bottle was easy to make out against the lights from the shower room, along with the glass in his hand.
Sanders: What in the…
Cowboy Hat Man: That ain’t no way to greet company Dom.
Sanders: Company is generally invited.
Cowboy: Well, I mean you always said…
Sanders: When did I say anything?
Cowboy: It’s been a bit. Lemme mind my manners, whiskey?
The man in the Cowboy hat quickly poured another glass, pushing it into Dominic’s free hand.
Cowboy: Pop a squat Dom, need ta find out how ya been…
Instinctively, Dominic flipped the chair out and had a seat. The big man clearly wasn’t here to hurt him.
Sanders: I probably shouldn’t be drink…
Cowboy: One ain’t gonna kill ya, I’ve had a few already.
The Cowboy threw back his glass and poured himself another.
Cowboy: So, ya lost yer title to Ace?
Sanders: Yeah…
Cowboy: Some feller had ta finally do it…
Sanders: What’s that supposed to…
Cowboy: California, I reckon ya did that on purpose… Wantin’ to make it fair an’ all. Ya know ole boy King’s like fightin’ a pitbull when it comes ta that US title…
Sanders: I didn’t lose on pur…
Cowboy: I always liked ya Dom, playin them mind games and whatnot.
Sanders: You burned a picture of my deceased wife and child and told me it was my legacy…
The two men paused their conversation for a moment.
Cowboy: Errr, well yea, that was just business.
Sanders: Seemed pretty personal from where I’m sitting.
Cowboy: You had a mustached idiot elbow drop me…
Sanders: Yeah… well I mean you deserved it…
Cowboy: Guess it was good business then.
Sanders: Fair point.
The two man sit in silence for a few moments before the man in the Cowboy Hat finally stands up, his face still masked behind shadows.
Cowboy: Welp, looks like it’s time for me to hit the dusty trail California… I’m sure I’ll be seein ya again soon. Hookem’ Horns!
The big man begins to stumble to the door.
Sanders: Saw 'em off.
The large man makes it to the doorway and stops for a moment. He turns back around, tilting his cowboy hat back.
Cowboy: Fuck you, Dom.
Sanders: Fuck you too, Clay.
With that, Clay Byrd stomps out of the America’s Most Hated locker room, a loud thud is heard with a hearty laugh. Dominic Sanders sits bewildered… Rumble winner Melody Malone bursts into the locker room, confused and concerned.
Malone: What the hell was Clay Byrd doing in here?
Sanders shrugs his shoulders.
Sanders: I have absolutely no fucking clue.
BRAWL VS FSW!
[SINGLES MATCH]
David Bugle
VS Allen Anderson
VS Allen Anderson
Aiello: Oh my, Clay Byrd has returned to Monday Night Brawl!
Bennett: Things just got a lot more interesting, fellas!
Carter: I've got a feeling Byrd's gonna make a splash pretty quick, which brings us to our opening match of the night as David Bugle takes on FSW's Allen Anderson!
Stroup: The following match is scheduled for one fall! Joining us first, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in at 238 pounds ... THE TRUE BELIEVER, DAVID BUGLE!
"Spider-Man" by The Ramones plays over the PA as David Bugle makes his way to the ring.
Stroup: And his opponent, from Harlem, New York, weighing in at 205 pounds ... ALLEN ANDERSON!
Pyros hit and "0-100" by Drake begins to play while Allen comes out wearing a red hoodie in attempt to get himself pumped. He slowly walks to the ring and enters with a cocky grin on his face before taking off the hoodie and climbing the top turnbuckle posing for the crowd.
DING DING DING
Aiello: Here we go, we’re ready to kick things off!
Carter: Contrasting styles for these two relative newcomers to EWC, so I’m looking forward to seeing how this one shakes out.
Both men look to Bennett for an opinion, but Aiello has to nudge him awake as the match begins with both men sizing each other up before quickly locking up, neither man giving the other an inch while trading leverage, each dropping the other to one knee. Eventually, the referee separates them to end the test of strength; they go to lock up again, but Bugle slides under Anderson’s long arms, popping up with a European Uppercut that rocks his challenger and sends him staggering!
Bugle follows up quickly, smothering Anderson as he goes for a Russian Leg Sweep… However, Anderson reverses and goes for a Russian Leg Sweep of his own… Bugle then reverses and spins Anderson around before driving him into the mat with a DDT! Bugle scrambles into a cover…
1!
2!
Anderson kicks out as the referee’s hand hits the mat for the second time; Anderson quickly gets back to his feet, engaging in a standoff with his slightly heavier opponent.
Aiello: A great opening exchange from these two combatants, already proving they belong on this big stage.
Bennett: The hell are you watching? Stupid son o’ bitch.
Both men start making their way to the centre of the ring, but Anderson surprises Bugle with a lightning-fast Step-Up Enzuigiri! The attack staggers Bugle, allowing Anderson to dive under and get a hold of his lower body, flipping over into a Scoop Slam! Anderson tries to cover, but Bugle backs up into a turnbuckle. Anderson takes a step back, then surges forward with an attempted Tilt A Whirl Headscissors, only for Bugle to stop Anderson’s motion by backing into the turnbuckle! Anderson grabs at his lower back as he gets to his feet; Bugle’s in position to connect with a Standing Dropkick, but Anderson pulls himself up to the second turnbuckle, evading the kick and quickly launching forward, connecting with a hard Swiss Uppercut!
Aiello: Allen Anderson showing off just a taste of his athleticism here!
Carter: The man’s clearly a physical specimen. Who knows what else he’s got in the bag?
Bennett: Smart people would be testing his bags for things.
Anderson doesn’t waste time getting to the pinfall attempt...
1!
2!
THR- KICKOUT!
The crowd applauds as Bugle powers out of the pin attempt, pushing Anderson off of him; using his weight to his advantage, Bugle locks his arms around Anderson’s waist, trying to drain a bit more energy before hoisting him off the ground and sending him flying with a German Suplex! Bugle wastes no time getting Anderson back in his clutches, picking him up and whipping him into the ropes. Anderson rebounds, and Bugle goes for the Superkick… But Anderson catches the leg… THEN RESPONDS WITH A SUPERKICK OF HIS OWN!
Aiello: There’s ANOTHER dose of that athleticism from the 21-year-old!
Carter: Allen might call it a Game Winner, but that may well be a game changer in this match!
Bennett: Damn, that son o’ bitch is fast.
The speed and power behind the Superkick drops Bugle, and Anderson nods his head with his arms outstretched as the fans applaud both competitors. He continues his celebrating, but then sees Bugle stirring on the canvas behind him, so he scurries over to the nearest turnbuckle.
Bennett: What’s this son o’ bitch thinkin’?
Carter: I… can’t remember the last time I agreed with you, but here we are.
Aiello: Well, I think we’re about to find out…
Using his long limbs to his advantage, Anderson quickly scales the turnbuckle; once he gets his bearings, he leaps off… HITS A TWIST… AND COMPLETES THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE!
Aiello: SWEET JESUS!
Carter: Not only the impact of the move, but at 6-foot-4, that’s even more impressive!
Bennett: Son o’ bitch be like the Kraken.
The crowd is in awe of the athleticism as Anderson wastes no time hooking Bugle’s leg, raising his free arm high to count with the referee…

DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall THE MAN… THE MYTH… THE LEGEND… ALLEN ANDERSON!
The ref raises Allen's hand in victory as we cut back to commentary
Aiello: A big win for Allen Anderson tonight, but credit to David Bugle who gave it his all!
Bennett: The future is bright for both of these guys, but I can't help but wonder how things are gonna go for Allen when he takes on Jason Rayne at Youngblood!
Carter: That's right Steve, those two are facing off in a match where the stipulation will be decided by the Spinning Wheel of Destiny...I dunno if that's the official name, but I heard that's what Jim Connors likes to call it.
Aiello: Youngblood comes to you live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and up next we have two competitors that have big matches at that Pay-Per-View! Gabrielle Visconty is gearing up for her shot at the International Championship, but first she takes on a man looking to make a statement against FSW's Dalilah Ashe at Youngblood, Preston Drake! Will Gabi Vee topple the Millennial One? Who will prevail as Brawl and Rampage collide? We'll find out when we come back!
Camera cuts to ...
We move to a commercial break.
Our scene goes backstage in Greensboro, and quickly the arena fills with boos as the scene opens on a pair of red-soled Louboutin heeled wrestling boots clicking their way through the backstage corridors – yes, of course, it can only be one man. As the camera pans up it’s confirmed that we’re watching Scorpio, and The S-Factor sneers in response to the heat he’s getting from the crowd. Eventually Scorpio stops by a poster advertising tonight’s main event, the United States Championship clash between Ace King and Dominic Sanders. He narrows his eyes as he stares at the advert, before turning to the camera.
Scorpio: It’s amazing how quickly the EWC’s forgotten that I literally won the number-one contendership to that title on Friday… I mean, I know you all like to laugh at how ‘deranged’ and how ‘paranoid’ I am every time I point out the evidence of this collaboration of top-level wrestlers against me BUT OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES! Even Ace and Dominic are getting involved in this war against me getting my rightful shot, preferring to wrestle their 97th match against each other THIS BLOODY YEAR.
He rolls his eyes.
Scorpio: I mean really, did anyone need to see that again?! This place is getting stale! The answer to that staleness is for someone fabulous to get their deserved shot… but between Cyrus, Melody, Dom, Iggy, Ace, and the management around here, that’s being pushed back as far as it can be. I went out there on Rampage and I DESTROYED the competition put before me, whilst Sanders has successfully not won the Rumble, and successfully lost to Cyrus, and even successfully got shut the hell down by Titaness… which frankly makes him the first person in the world to be shut down by Titaness… so I guess that’s an achievement of sorts?
The S-Factor looks up at the poster of Ace and Sanders, and with a snarl on his face he claws at the paper, ripping it down with his acrylic press-on nails. He tears it to pieces, furiously throwing bits around him, even kicking some of the paper in a slightly mad attack, before he calms and places both hands on his hips.
Scorpio: It’s becoming clearer and clearer the EWC is desperate to quash my run at the top. First no shot at the Undisputed Championship despite coming within inches in the Insanity Cage and even ACTUALLY PINNING THE CHAMPION LAST BRAWL! And now handing out shots to titles that I’m the number-one contender for to people who’ll toe the company line a little more. Whatever. Do what you like EWC… I’ve got my shot… I’m legally entitled to that match… and whichever of your ‘stars’ has the title I’ll gladly jam a Louboutin heel down their throat.
He winks to the camera.
Scorpio: Ace… Dom… see you later darlings…
Without another word The S-Factor marches off, and the camera pans down on the ripped-up poster, showing Ace King and Dominic Sanders’ faces left in tatters over the floor…
Aiello: Well last Brawl Scorpio pretty much lost his mind and defeated Cyrus Black after taking him down with that damn hairdryer, and now he’s got his sights set on the United States Championship!
Bennett: I think the guy’s got a point – how can Dominic Sanders be competing for a title that Scorpio is the number-one contender for?
Carter: Well whatever happens in the main event, if last week is anything to go by, I’d be watching my back if I were Ace or Dominic…
BRAWL VS RAMPAGE!
[SINGLES MATCH]
Gabrielle Visconty
VS "The Millennial One" Preston Drake
VS "The Millennial One" Preston Drake
We return to ringside where we are about to potentially see an unraveling of sorts as The Millennial One with his father Hampton at ringside will take on Gabrielle Visconty. The air is filling up with tension that you can cut with a proverbial knife so to speak.
Aiello: A lot, of people this week have been saying that Preston Drake may be the future of the EWC, and I can’t seem to deny it. But so, is Gabrielle Visconty and we will truly see who wants it more and who’s legacy as a Second-generation star takes a turning point?
Bennett: I don’t give a rat’s ass about the both of them but I can’t deny that talent is over my opinion. Thing is that Drake is a Son o Bitch from the green brand who keeps sticking his nose on this show. And, I hope Gabrielle makes him learn his damn place.
Carter: Being a son of someone famous and in this business like these two I seem to get it a lot more than you two. I think people tend to forget the pressure of being accepted and loved by the ones who came before you and made a name in this profession in the ring or out.
Stroup: The following match is a singles contest scheduled for One Fall. Joining us first, now residing in Honolulu, Hawaii, weighing in at 118 pounds ... THE ANGEL…GABRIELLE VISCONTY!
Gabrielle Visconty struts out to her music "B.O.B" by OutKast slapping hands, really feeling the energy of the North Carolina crowd as she enters the ring here tonight.
Stroup: And her opponent, from Anchorage, Alaska now appearing in Seattle, Washington, weighing in at 210 pounds ... HE IS THE MILLENNIAL ONE OF THE EWC…PRESTON DR-AKE!
"It’s Too Late" by 7 Year Bitch plays for a second as we don’t see Preston Drake he then appears sliding from under the ring. He casually rolls into the ring to a Nice Pop be it some boos before taking off his Hoodie. His, wife Rian Drake at ringside standing by his father Hampton just telling him to watch his son work.
Aiello: Preston Drake is sort of out of it tonight, he is in another place mentally and we don’t know what may go down.
DING DING DING
We see these two young upstarts shoot the half early in an array of action that will come off like an action movie. Gabi Vee is ever so the angel crashing into her opponent with a sense of speed and determination as the crowd is split between her and Preston. As she goes to jump out of the ring with a No Hands Cartwheel we get Preston Drake catching her. Preston looks at his father Hampton Drake at ringside as he walks with Gabi Vee. She fights back though as Drake is distracted by the presence of his father. The Angel goes up top and nails a Double Rotation Moonsault onto DRAKE upon the outside of the ring. She is not slowing down as she believes that her speed is her greatest weapon in a match up. Preston is still on the floor groveling by the barricade where his father is as Gabi who breaks the count goes for WRATH after and Drake moves as she kicks his father Hampton back into his seat. The crowd lets out a defining and collective gasp.
Aiello: I can’t believe it! Drake moves out the way, but Hampton Drake gets kicked in the skull by Gabrielle Visconty.
Bennett: I don’t like to see legends get hurt especially ones who just came to enjoy BRAWL that’s a god damn disgrace.
Carter: This is a rough sport but when people get hurt who aren’t active or just spectators it is very hard to stomach.
Preston Drake now appears like he’s mad or something as Gabi Vee tries to apologize to Hampton when she’s thrown into the steel steps at ringside. Preston then goes to straight palm strike her but ducks and then slides back into the ring. As, Preston Drake sees her speed on display he matches it by doing an uncharacteristic somersault into the ring to cheers but stumbles into a JAWBREAKER that lays Preston Drake out. The crowd sense it’s over but Gabrielle Visconty doesn’t capitalize as she checks again on Hampton Drake who’s cut above his right eye. Hampton tries to say that he’s fine, that she should never take her eye off an opponent, which Rian Drake shouts at him for saying that he can coach others the right way but ridicules his son for being an honest competitor. We, then see Preston Drake recover enough to Suicide Plancha not touching any middle rope crashing into Gabrielle Visconty.
Aiello: And, down goes Hampton Drake again in this contest I’m afraid.
Bennett: You, think Gabrielle will show some damn brains and take a victory but she gets into own head and she’s letting that Son O Bitch recover.
Carter: I, don’t think anyone thought going into this match that we will see these two put on a classic, thing is matches like this aren’t without sacrifice and Hampton apparently just is a causality of two young stars trying to win.
Preston Drake is now standing again from the plancha as Gabi Vee is clutching her back, Preston starts to stomp into her spine and receives a mixed reaction for this act. Preston doesn’t seem like he notices a reaction as now he’s in the zone and his eyes are locked into his opponent. Preston grabs Gabi by the hair and presses her face against the ring apron. He, then goes around the ring acting like he’s running laps to then jump and knee her in the side of the skull. But, Gabi still with some agility moves as Drake knees the ring apron. Gabi starts to punch Preston in the face then rolls him into the ring, to cheers and admiration she starts smiling. Preston holds his knee but seems to get enough feeling to knee Gabi in the jaw when she goes to grab him. She seems like she wants to stand but can’t collapsing to the canvas.
Aiello: Preston Drake is pretty good at being a tactician he relies on all of his skill whether his speed, the power of his strikes and ability to do holds. He is a hybrid athlete which proves to match up with Gabi who seemingly over relies on her speed an ability to fly too much.
Bennett: Exactly, you can’t be too complacent in this business you see people these days coming in that could be a big ole 400 pound tub o lard. But that same fat ass Sum Bitch can still do a full Senton out of the ring like a loose Wrecking ball.
Carter: Preston Drake came in like a wrecking ball, he didn’t leave gently or wasted time doing what he needs to do. And, what Gabrielle needs to do is try to use his anger and aggression against him try to psyche him out enough to put him down for the three.
Preston now as he notices his father Hampton is now in his seat again, holding a towel to his bleeding eye still watching this match he looks to admire that part about him. That was the same fighting spirit and ability to never give up that he seemed to possess. As he sees Gabi Vee rise perpendicular to the corner he goes to knee her into the turnbuckle but she Irish whips him using his own momentum against him. This leaves him open to a handspring back elbow smash which has him lying upon the canvas. Although he grovels again on his knees before eyeing Gabi in the face telling her that if she thinks she’s big and bad to hit him. To hit him which she does sending a flurry of chops and kicks to his chest and face as the crowd seems to cringe. Preston seemingly crumbles to the mat with his chest all red and bruised.
Aiello: I don’t think anyone can deny that Preston Drake has a lot of heart and determination that it isn’t any shame of losing to a better opponent. But he also is someone who shouldn’t be counted out especially if he overcomes here tonight.
Bennett: Hats off to Gabi Vee for waking up after that knee. Preston Drake is a tough son o' a bitch, but I don’t know if he’s still conscious to even finish the match.
Carter: I think you are speaking too soon as he seems to be moving, I think asking for those shots was him trying to show his toughness and willpower to his father. But, doing can you top this doesn’t lead to victories that easy. He must execute his Game Plan he’s had tonight, or all of this is for not.
Preston Drake now at a standing base as Gabi lets him stand up which is surprising and now, they circle around one another. Gabi charges but Preston sidesteps that movement grabbing her by the arm, but Gabi wrenches out of his grasp quickly. Preston Drake goes to throw her into the rope, but she comes back with a Springboard Clothesline except Drake prepared throws her into a suplex variation. Gabi Vee now gasping for air as it takes the wing out of her, she rolls to her feet before pointing into the sky, which Preston looks up for a second which leads to a rolling Yoshi tonic into a pin, but Preston kicks out but appears spent. The referee goes to check on Drake as Hampton, Preston’s father is over the guard rail he feints like he’s going to hit Rian his daughter in law for getting him hurt as an innocent bystander. Gabi Vee goes to stop this and gets punched in the face by Hampton who pushes his daughter in law to the floor on the outside. The legend from Anchorage seemingly has snapped as he yells for Preston Drake to pin her. Preston reluctantly does so, ending the match and picking up the victory.
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall PRESTON DR-AKE!
Preston Drake after seeing his wife on the floor sobbing and his dad wanting him to take advantage of Gabi Vee, he snaps his damn self. He soars out of the ring to an eruption of the crowd landing on his father pummeling him down with strikes as security tries to come in to stop it. Guards start to get hit with a monkey wrench which apparently is what Preston pulled from his father, this also explains the impact on Gabi Vee, as he hid it in his sleeve so an open hand strike would be loaded. As the security team get hit he stops then continues to beat on Hampton before his wife talks him down, he throws the wrench at his beaten father as he walks to the back with his wife by his side. We see Gabi Vee wake up to the chaos and scene bewildered but the crowd are still cheering to what’s just transpired in Greensboro.
Aiello: Preston Drake picks up the win, but him not standing by for his dad’s shenanigans shows him that he’s his own man tonight.
Bennett: I don’t want to think of any other way to be an ungrateful son o' a bitch then to refuse your father’s help. Hampton didn’t deserve that he’s a great guy.
Carter: He had a great career, no doubt about that, but this pain and punishment he received here tonight was well deserved.
Aiello: All credit to Gabi Vee though, she continued to prove why she earned a shot at the International Championship at Youngblood...but the win by Drake opens up the title picture in the near future, I'm sure! Folks, when we come back we have 3 The Hard Way as Darius, Xavier Reid, and Samantha Hamilton clash!
We move to a commercial break.
The camera cuts backstage inside the Greensboro Coliseum where we see Bob Murray standing with Brawl staff members
Murray: We want to make sure we are…
But he stops mid sentence when he sees Xavier Reid heading towards the ring with Nikki Dupree and Tlatoani Volando
Murray: Xavier, a quick word if you will…
Xavier looks at Bob and stops, he looks down at his t-shirt that reads: It’s REID no Reed and with a piece of white tape the word: champ is written in black sharpie. Xavier sees Bob looking at his shirt and smirks
Reid: Just trying to help a few people out around here…
Murray: Yeah...next up on Brawl you will be facing two people who you’ve gotten to know of late…
Tlatoani: And two people that don’t really care for Xavier…
Dupree: That’s not entirely true...I don’t think Darius HATES Xavier...he just wants to be where Xavier is at the moment...remember he said he believes Xavier should get the next championship match after Xavier beat him…
Tlatoani: Cool...now he wants to take his head off…
Reid: Listen I heard what Darius said and it’s the same line of crap everyone says before a fight… ‘I’ve never faced anyone like you before’... ‘my hands were tied the last time we faced off’... ‘this time will be different’...I’ve heard all this shit before and I’m not shocked I’m hearing it now from Darius...last time he wanted the so called ‘old me’...well he got the violent Xavier Reid and it wouldn’t have mattered if we were in a X-Division match, a steel cage or even Deathmatch...the outcome would have been the same...me stomping him in the face until he was out cold...that’s the different level I am compared to him...it’s a bitter pill to swallow but it’s just the facts...so what...he wants to bring out weapons this time...by all means go for it...bring whatever your little heart desires to the ring but it’s not going to make a damn bit of difference...the outcome will be the same...me leaving the better man…
Murray: And then there’s Samantha Hamilton…
Dupree: Oh that bitch HATES Xavier...I can’t even deny that…
Tlatoani: Oh yeah...she wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire Xavier…
Murray: Well yeah, she isn’t the biggest fan of…
Tlatoani: Isn’t the biggest fan…
Reid: Sam has thin skin...I get this...she does not like it when others point out her flaws and tries her best to quickly change the subject away from her own shortcomings to those casting the stones but the thing is I didn’t say anything that wasn’t true...Samantha Hamilton SHOULD BE a player here in the EWC yet her career here has been nothing but average...and that’s me being kind...I understand why here feathers got ruffled up when I questioned her being placed in that X-Division Championship match...I exposed her...I was taking away her shine...Samantha had finally got a championship match and there was I calling her out for not belonging in that match...but it was true...she had a draw while I had a win over the champion...I don’t understand how ANYONE could argue that point...but her response was ‘shove it’... ‘that I had a shit ton of chances’...yes Sam I’ve earned a shit ton of chances in the past just like I EARNED that chance that you were HANDED...I know this hurts your feelings but you didn’t belong in that match...but at the end of the night I was proven right...you are not the X-Division Champion...nothing has really changed about you...you are still underachieving butt hurt because I was mean to you...I get it...pretty face...thin skin…
Murray: This issue seems to come down to the X-Division Championship…
Reid: Oh no Bob...this goes even further back...hell I had to go back and look up what I said that causes her so much angst...the fact that I called her ‘the real star of the group that’s been forced to slum it in tag matches with the rest of the maidens’...that I dare asked ‘what the hell happened to her’...I pointed out ‘she was on the fast track to stardom and now...well...she’s just another biker in the group’...where what did I say that was wrong?
Xaver looks at Bob and then at Tlatoani and Nikki and then back to the camera
Reid: Did she not get a match against Ace King in her third match in the EWC? Was I the only one that expected more from her? She lost to Ace, Visconty and then Nickles and was an afterthought around here...as one should be so she was forced to team up with others just to pick up wins...it was sad to see but me pointing this out clearly pissed her off...good...maybe it will spark a fire under her ass I thought...oops nope...I’m seeing the same old Samantha Hamilton I saw back then...and underachiever...I mean how can someone be THAT GOOD in other companies yet be so bad here...and then it hit me…
Tlatoani: Those places suck…
Xavier points to his cousin
Reid: I wouldn’t have put it that blunt but sure...you shine against lesser competition and that’s ok...good for you...but tonight you are stepping in a match...a X-Division match against the best in the division so I don’t like your chances Sam...sure anything can happen out there but this is a style where I’ve thrived in...you...not so much...so tonight I send both you and Darius to the bench...I allow you two to wander off...onto your match at Youngbloods where the two of you can settle your differences...like I said I’m not interested in being re-casted as Joseph or Lio...tonight I put the two of you behind me and focus on the one person who seems to be absent of late…
Xavier smiles
Reid: Stephanie let me be the first to congratulate you on your stellar win at Conviction Friday night, an outstanding tag team championship defense by you and Leah…
Xavier looks at Bob
Reid: Yes I’m speaking of Oath Pro Wrestling...hell of a win Stephanie you showed when it comes to tag team wrestling you and Leah are a force to be wreckin with…
But Bob motions his head behind Xavier, Tlatoani and Nikki...the camera cuts away from them and onto the X-Division Champion Stephanie Matsuda as she walks towards the group in civilian clothes with her X-Division Title over her shoulder, she walks through Tlatoani and Nikki and right up to Xavier…
Matsuda: I heard you’ve been looking for me. I know you have a match, but I’ll make this short. I’m willing to face you anytime, anywhere. Our rematch is long overdue.
Xavier smirks and looks from the X-Division Championship to Stephanie
Reid: Glad to see you could join us here on Brawl...champ...you’re right I have been looking for you...you and me have some unfinished business to attend to...now I’ve waited...for you to compete in the Insanity Cage match...for you to finish up with Hush and Samantha...but rumor has it you might not be completely finished with Samantha...now I heard you say I was ‘next on your list’...well come cross me off Steph…
Xavier smiles
Reid: Anytime, anywhere...that’s fine with me...I know Jim Connors is listening...watching...well I’m free for Brawl #548, #549 or WrestleFest...all Connor needs to do is make the match and I’ll be there...so why don’t you do this Steph...check your schedule...see when you want to wrestle again and let Connors know...and I’ll be there...to take that…
Xavier points at the X-Division Championship
Reid: Off you...now...I have a match...wish me luck?
Xavier looks at Stephanie and the smiles and walks away from the group towards the ring, as we cut to...
3 THE HARD WAY: THE SEQUEL!
[TRIPLE THREAT MATCH - X-DIVISION RULES]
Darius
VS Xavier Reid
VS Samantha "Titaness" Hamilton
VS Xavier Reid
VS Samantha "Titaness" Hamilton
Aiello: Are you ready for some triple threat action? We’ve got Darius, Samantha Hamilton and Xavier Reid doing battle.
Bennett: And this is a preview of sorts for Youngblood where Samantha Hamilton and Darius will go one on one.
Carter: Xavier Reid meanwhile is still looking to get back into the X-Division title scene. Surely a win here would secure that for him.
Stroup: The following match is scheduled for one fall, from Albany, New York, weighing in at 245 lbs... DARIUS!!!!
'Gasoline' by I Prevail plays as Darius makes his way out to the ring.
Stroup: And his opponent, from Edmonton Alberta Canada, weighing in at 220 pounds ... XAVIER REID!!!
’Papercut’ by Linkin Park plays as Xavier Reid makes his way down to the ring.
Stroup: And there opponent, from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, weighing in at one hundred and forty-five pounds, she is one of the members of the Shieldmaidens MC. She is SAMANTHA ‘THE TITANESS’ HAMILTON!!!!
'You're Going Down' by Sick Puppies plays as Samantha Hamilton makes her way down to the ring.
DING DING DING
Darius immediately drops to his knees and rolls out of the ring just as Hamilton is about to go for him. Hamilton leans against the ropes and calls him an explicit name and tells him to get back in the ring when Reid comes from behind her, chopping the back of her leg and causing her to fall to mat. Reid then hits rapid kicks to the back of Hamiltons back and side. Hamilton manages to grab one of Reid’s leg and she uses her strength to pull herself to her feet, still holding onto Reid’s leg she flips him over causing him to do a back flip but he lands on his feet remarkably and leaps towards Hamilton but she catches him in mid air and plants him on the mat with a spinebuster. Hamilton makes the pin but Reid kicks out at two.
Hamilton gets to her feet, she runs off of the ropes but Darius reaches under the bottom rope and grabbing her foot causing her to stumble right into Reid’s path as he leaps up and hits a high kick straight to her chest. With Hamilton down, Reid climbs the top turnbuckle and he looks like he’s going for his X-Marks The Spot move when Darius jumps onto the ring apron and pushes him off the top turnbuckle to the outside. Reid falls with a thump, smashing against the outside ring barrier.
Aiello: Darius clearly has a tactic here tonight.
Bennett: Of course he does! You have to win at all costs and so far it’s working. Reid is laying on the outside looking like a broken mess and Hamilton is the same on the inside.
Carter: I have to admit it’s a smart play, let Hamilton and Reid beat the hell out of each other and then take advantage.
As Hamilton tries to get to her feet Darius comes at her, hitting his Raining Elbows move on her. Darius goes for the pin but Hamilton kicks out at two much to the frustration of Darius who gets into the refs face and tells him that was a three. Hamilton is starting to stir as Darius continues to complain to the ref. Suddenly Reid is on his feet and he leaps on the ring apron and then he springboards off of the top rope towards Darius with a Superman punch but Darius dives out of the way at the last second and Reid ends up hitting the ref. With the ref down, Darius grabs Reid and hits a chokeslam on him. Darius then boots Hamilton in the head a couple of times before he decides to exit the ring.
With the ref still down Darius collects a chair from the outside and slides back into the ring, hoists the chair over his head he smacks Hamilton in back with it multiple times. Darius then turns and hits Reid in the back with the chair a few times before raising the chair over his head to taunt the crowd as they boo him. Darius lays the chair flat in the center of the ring as he pulls Hamilton up positions them underneath the chair. Lifting Hamilton onto his shoulders, it looks like he’s going to drop her straight on the chair but Hamilton smashes him with a couple of elbow shots on the forehead causing him to stumble backwards. Hamilton falls off
of Darius’s shoulders and onto her feet, using her strength she lifts Darius up and hits a lumber check right onto the chair! Hamilton makes the pin but the referee is still stunned.
Aiello: the strength of the Samantha Hamilton is something else! She might have had this match won if the referee was on his feet.
Bennett: What is the ref doing, having a nap?
Carter: Well Darius bringing a chair into the ring has backfired!!
The referee is back on his feet now as Hamilton picks Darius up by the hair and throws him off of the ropes, as he comes back at her she big boots him. As the ref kicks the chair out of the ring Hamilton sets Darius up for the Wrath of the Titans when Reid comes flying at her, kicking her in the chest as she falls back and bounces off of the ropes. Reid runs at Hamilton again and catches her with the X-Ploder.
Reid locks his submission move X’ed Out on Hamilton. It looks like she’s going to either pass out or tap out when Darius drops a boot on Reid’s face. Reid holds his face and rolls out of the ring as Darius pulls Hamilton to her feet and whips her into the corner he gots for his finisher Gray Matter but Hamilton dives out of the corner and Darius hits the turnbuckle, as he falls back Hamilton catches him and sets up him for her finisher Wrath of the Titans, she plants him on the mat but as Hamilton makes the pin she doesn’t see Reid who has climbed up the top turnbuckle. Reid leaps off of the turnbuckle and hits X-Marks The Spot landing on both Hamilton and Darius, as Hamilton rolls off of Darius, Reid throws an arm over him for the pin as the referee counts for the three.
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall XAVIER REID!!!
Aiello: That was a big win for Xavier Reid, what a way to win it.
Bennett: Surely he must have earned himself an X-Division title shot now!
Carter: Darius and Hamilton were unlucky tonight. Anyone could have won that match. It’s was chaotic.
Aiello: Indeed, but congratulations to Xavier Reid on the win. We will be right back with you after this quick...
As Reid continues to celebrate and recover in the ring following his victory, the feed transitions backstage. The crowd cheers as a beaten-up Ace King sits alone in the Greensboro Coliseum locker room, the United States Championship in his hands, BOSE headphones over his ears, and his eyes glued to the small monitor in the corner to his right; there’s an unusual calm to the United States Champion’s body language.
However, he labours as he gets to his feet, grabbing at his lower back for a moment and grimacing; he exhales heavily, then slowly makes his way toward the door. He puts on a brave face and attempts to walk the hallways in as normal a manner as possible, his headphones drowning out the sound around him. Crew members appear concerned for ‘The Gambler’ as he trudges through the backstage area, but as he rounds a corner, a voice pipes up.
Voice: Hey, Ace…
The United States Champion doesn’t acknowledge it on account of the headphones, but as he goes to move forward, a hand taps him on the shoulder. He turns around, and immediately raises an eyebrow as he takes his headphones off.
Ace King: Oh!
The camera pans out, and the cheers ramp up as Television Champion Faith Rivers comes into the shot, her gold on her shoulder and a smile on her face.
Faith Rivers: Just wanted to wish you luck tonight… It’s always nice to have someone in your corner.
Ace pauses for a moment, then offers his friend a warm smile.
Ace King: I appreciate it, and I always have. You’ve always had my back, and I’m grateful for it… I’m also very proud of you and how you've grown.
Faith tilts her head as she looks at Ace, who focuses in on the Television Championship.
Ace King: You’ve come a long way, and it hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but your work ethic and dedication was never in question, so I knew you’d find your way eventually.
Ace turns his gaze back to Faith herself; she offers a warm smile as she puts her hand on the United States Champion’s shoulder.
Faith Rivers: I had to have faith in myself… Just like you do tonight.
After a few seconds of silence, Ace gingerly steps forward and gives his friend a quick, warm hug. As they separate, they offer each other a nod before ‘The Gambler’ continues onward as the feed cuts to commercial…
Vanessa: “You ready for this?”
She looks across the hallway as Melody turns over the crown in her hands absently.
Melody Malone: "No."
She admits flatly before sighing.
Melody Malone: "I thought I was. I really did."
She huffs in frustration before Vanessa takes the crown from her hands. The redhead shakes her head and puts her free hand on Melody's shoulder.
Vanessa: "Don't you dare get cold feet on me now. I know this isn't ideal for you, but do you know how many people would kill for this opportunity? You're getting a free pass to test yourself against him tonight. How many other challengers get that?"
Melody Malone: "He shouldn't be out there at all!"
She blurts out, louder than she intended as a couple of stage hands give her a curious glance. She draws her hand through her hair, the frustration evident on her face.
Melody Malone: "You saw what happened on Rampage. The fact he's even competing tonight is a small miracle. He and Ace, frankly. Everything he put himself through, and came up short… and to expect him to trust Scorpio? After what he did to him out there?"
Melody fumes silently, the frustration evident on her face as Vanessa smiles, taking the crown now and placing it atop Melody's head. Now it was her chance to hone in Mel’s frustrations.
Vanessa: "Exactly. You know what Scorpio did to him. Don't drag it out any longer than absolutely necessary. You know he's hurting, he's admitted as much on social media. So go out there, and take out your frustration and your anger on the guy responsible. Let Scorpio get what's coming to him, and add that next win onto your undefeated streak. You know you can beat Scorpio. You've practically done it in your sleep. He's running scared anyway.. behind hairdryers and cheap shots from the crowd."
Melody Malone: "And when he hides behind Cyrus?"
Vanessa: "Then you do what you have to do. You knew this was coming."
Melody frowns but keeps her chin up as Iggy comes out of the Americas Most Hated locker room and gives Melody that knowing look. It was time for the Foxy Ladies to go out and prove why they were the ones holding onto those championship belts.
THE ROMCOM OF TAG MATCHES
[TAG TEAM MATCH - NON-TITLE]
America's Most Hated (Iggy Swango & Melody Malone)
VS Scorpio & Cyrus Black
VS Scorpio & Cyrus Black
Aiello: To say that our next match up is personal would be a an understatement. It’s the undisputed champion having to team with the man who busted him wide open and defeated him last time out on Brawl, Scorpio and if that’s not enough they are going up against the tag team champions representing America’s most hated Melody Malone and Iggy Swango.
Bennett: Oh yes, we are getting a Wrestlefest main event preview here folks! Cyrus and Melody finally have go one on one against each other. I hope she kicks his stupid head in.
Carter: Somehow I think it’ll more like Melody and Scorpio ripping each other to pieces! They do not like each other one bit, and it’s all going to come to ahead at Youngblood when they go one on one, also just to add a little extra spice to the match Iggy will challenge Cyrus for the International title at Youngblood so she’ll be looking for revenge here.
Stroup: The following tag team match is scheduled for one fall, Joining us first from San Diego, California.. weighing in at 148 pounds... MELODY MALONE!!!! and her tag team partner... from San Francisco, California... weighing in at 145 pounds... IGGY SWANGO!!! and together they are the EWC TAG CHAMPIONS!!!!
’Dance Party Plus’ by Head Automatica hits the arena and Iggy Swango comes out onto the stage. ‘You should see me in a crown' (IIZI Remix)’ blasts out from the PA system and Melody Malone comes out to join Swango before they both head down to the ring.
Stroup: And their opponents, first from Carson City, Nevada... weighing in at 230 pounds ... he is the EWC Undisputed and International champion... CYRUS BLACK!!!! and his tag team partner... from London, England, weighing in at 205 lbs... 'The S-Factor'... 'The People's Camp'... SCORPIO!!!
'Iconic' by Madonna feat. Chance The Rapper plays as Scorpio comes out to the ramp and walks down to the ring. 'Like a Prayer' by Madonna plays and Cyrus Black walks out to the ramp and down towards the ring.
DING DING DING
Malone starts the match for the tag champs and she immediately points at Scorpio and goads him into coming at her. Scorpio slowly approaches Malone and they get in each other faces. Scorpio suddenly slaps Malone hard across the face and then backs away with a grin on his face. Black has one leg in the ring, anger on his face when Malone waves her hand at him and signals for him not get involved. Malone then rushes Scorpio, leaping in the air and catching him with a high dropkick that sends the S-Factor into the corner. Scorpio falls to the mat Malone jumps onto the turnbuckle and hits a Split legged corner moonsault on him.
Instead of attempting to pin Scorpio she gets on top of him and starts punching into his face and body with stiff shots. Scorpio pushes Malone off of him and rolls out of the ring. Malone isn’t done though, she rushes off of the far away ropes and back at Scorpio, diving through the middle ropes and hitting a suicide dive on him which brings the fans to there feet. Swango is cheering on the ring apron and the camera pans over to Black who also seems pleased.
Aiello: Melody Malone isn’t letting up here! The Queen is coming at Scorpio full throttle!
Bennett: And I see Scorpios tag partner seems happy about that. What chance does Scorpio have? It may as well be a three on one match!
Carter: Did you ever think that maybe Scorpio brought all this on himself with his actions?
Malone grabs a hold of Scorpio by the hair and repays the favor by slapping Scorpio across the face, Scorpio erupts into a rage and tackles Malone into the ring apron. Scorpio then whips Malone back first into the steel steps. Scorpio pulls the bottom of the steel steps out and he places Malone on top to them, holding her up in a headlock as the referee shouts at him not to do it. Before Scorpio can drop Malone on the steps Swango leaps off of the ring apron and hits a forearm smash on Scorpio. Swango picks Scorpio up and rolls him into the ring before she helps Malone to her feet.
Scorpio backs off to his corner and holds his hand out towards Black for a tag but Black doesn’t reciprocate. Scorpio looks disgusted as he slaps Black on the shoulder and tags him in. As Black gets in the ring he mouths something towards Scorpio which causes the two men to go head to head, the referee has to get in between them. Meanwhile, Malone is back in the ring and she tags in Swango. As Swango approaches Black, Scorpio is half way out of the ring when he springs forward and super kicks Swango, catching her on the side of the jaw. As the ref pushes Scorpio to exit the ring Black watches him, shaking his head.
Aiello: Scorpio just caught Iggy with that super kick, and now Black can take advantage but he doesn’t seem pleased with Scorpios tactics.
Bennett: Black should spend less time trying to pick a fight with his partner and more time trying to win the match.
Carter: Oh come on, how do you expect Black to do that? Scorpio made things personal between them. As a human being you can’t switch off your emotions and feelings, and Scorpio has made a lot of enemies in last month or so. This was never going to be a straight forward tag match.
Black turns his attentions towards Swango and reluctantly hoists her to her feet, hooking her up from behind, hitting a German suplex on her. Black again hoists Swango up and hits a belly to belly suplex. Black then puts a bow and arrow choke hold on Swango. As Swango scrambles to reach the ropes but Black has the hold in good. Swango is starting to fade when Malone comes into the ring, Black sees her coming and he pounces to his feet. Malone and Black stand off in the middle of the ring as the fans cheer. The two seem hesitant to lock up when all of sudden Scorpio rushes back into the ring and catches Malone with a roundhouse kick. Scorpio and Black get in each other’s face again as the ref has to pull them apart once more.
Swango is back on her feet and she hits a running big boot on Black as Scorpio goes back to his corner. Swango locks a fujiwara armbar on Black. At the same time Malone rushes around the ringside and pulls Scorpio off of the ring apron and the two start to brawl on the outside. Scorpio swings an arm towards Malone but she ducks tackles him straight over the announce table. In the ring, Black gets his foot on the rope and Swango is forced to break the armbar hold. Black is first to his feet and hits an enziguri on Swango. On the outside Scorpio and Malone are fighting at the time keepers area when Scorpio eye rakes Malone, causing her to stumble back. Scorpio picks Malone up and drops her onto a couple of steel chairs. In the ring the referee the busy with Black and Swango, Swango uppercuts Black And goes for her finisher the Acrobatic Tenament, but Black uses his strength to throw Swango over his shoulder. With Swango on the floor Black runs off of the ropes and back at her, hitting his move the Blackout, pinning and winning the match.
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winners, via pinfall CYRUS BLACK AND SCORPIO!!!
Outside the ring Malone starts to fight back against Scorpio and the two end up on the floor punching into each other. Black and Swango both exit the ring at the same time as multiple referees and officials come down the ramp. Black and Swango hold Malone back as the officials and referees do the same with Scorpio.
Aiello: This match has ended in chaos! I dread to think what Scorpio and Melody Malone are going to do to each other at Youngblood.
Bennett: I think they’ll hurt each other really really badly and that’s what we all want! I can’t wait!!
Carter: Is it really? Things are getting very personal between these two! This could be a blood bath between them in a few weeks.
Aiello: The pay per view is shaping up nicely but we are not done yet...
Suddenly, there is a commotion in the crowd. People in the crowd, security, and even the camera operators are scrambling to see what is happening. Two figures in black ski masks vault over the barricade into the ringside area.
Aiello: Who the hell is this?
Carter: It’s always something, isn’t it?
Bennett: How long you been doing this, boy? Anything can happen on Brawl.
One taller than the other. They blow past security and blind side Malone. The tall figure dodges a forearm smash from Melody and gets a right hand knockout punch for her trouble from the shorter figure. Scorpio is briefly seen slinking to the back as the chaos unfolds. The smaller figure goes to give chase, but is stopped with a hand to the shoulder and a nod to the ring. Seemingly agreeing, both turn attention back to the others.
Bennett: Wait…
Iggy slides out of the ring, but the taller figure shoves her to the mat as the other puts the boots to Malone. Cyrus Black, usually cool and collected in his demeanor, goes after Malone’s attackers but gets a clothesline to the back of his head for his valiant attempt. In a flash, Swango gets a knee to the side of the head as she tries to get to her feet.
Bennett: ...damnit. That’s …
Carter: I think you’re right for once, Steve.
Aiello: Yeah, that whole exchange looked awfully familiar.
With the previous match’s participants gone or disposed of, the masked figures enter the ring, standing in the center. The crowd is loud but their response is confused as these two went after loved and hated alike. The two look at each other briefly … and then unmask, one shaking out a head of flame-red hair and the other calmly smoothing his neat blonde coif back into order, expression ice cold.
Bennett: Not these assholes!
Aiello: That’s .... that’s NSFW!
Carter: Holy shit!
The crowd pops feverishly as the former EWC tag team champions have made their return. Bishop Church looks at the mask and discards it. He takes a comb out from his pocket and puts his hair back in place a bit more effectively. Mike McGuire sharkishly grins while putting on their beat up Mets ballcap. They both survey their actions for a brief moment. Malone, Swango, and Black are just now stirring the shots to the head.
NSFW takes this as their cue to depart.
Aiello: The tag team division has changed big time since the days of NSFW … and well, you’ve gotta wonder, is that why they’re back?
Carter: I’m not one to speculate. Mike and Bishop cut to the quick and went right after some of the top champions in this company. And left us with no explanation.
Bennett: Those slimy sons of bitches.
Aiello: Gotta remind you folks, we got the main event coming up. Can Ace King continue his monumental US title reign or while Dominic Sanders strike gold once again?
We move to a commercial break.
Backstage, we find ourselves in the office of the Brawl General Manager. Sitting behind his desk is Jim Connors, a smile on his face as the GM is embroiled in a conversation on his cell phone.
Connors: Exactly, I'm thrilled for Youngblood. It took some time to find out what a Blood Bath Match is, but once I did I was happy to sign off on watching Darius and Samantha Hamilton face off! And then we have the two Interbrand Insanity matches, one to determine new Tag Team Championship contenders and the other for a Golden Ticket. That's still my favorite idea I've brought to the table, and I can't wait to see these up and comers go after all the glory you can imagine. The crowd watching at the Superdome is gonna love it, and so will the folks at home.
The crowd inside the Greensboro Coliseum are just as excited, showing their approval with cheers as Connors nods in response to whatever is being said on the other end of the call.
Connors: That's right, it's gonna be a lot of fun...and then, a few of us are gonna party it up like it's Mardi Gras. Don't worry honey, I won't get TOO plastered. Yes yes, love you too dear. I'll call you when I'm on the way home. Good night!
Connors makes smooching noises as he hangs up the phone, putting it down on the desk before he finally notices he's being watched. He glares at us, a mixture of confusion and embarrassment on his face.
Connors: How long have you been there?
No response only makes Connors more nervous, gulping as he adjusts his collar.
Connors: Right, well...Youngblood, am I right? Next Monday in New Orleans, it's gonna be Mardi Gras in October when all the first and second year rookies face off. Matches representing all four brands are on tap, including a showcase between FSW's Matt Angel and Prime's Vanita Thompson. You've also got some matches directly from Friday Night Rampage, as Samuel McPherson takes on Tanja Devereaux and Scorpio faces Melody Malone in a rematch from FNR 458! Hold onto your butts, fans, cause it's gonna be a bumpy ride!
The crowd roars in approval as we cut back to ringside for...
THE LONG-AWAITED SCARS & STRIPES REMATCH...WITH A TWIST!
[SINGLES MATCH - FOR THE EWC UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP]
Dominic Sanders
VS Ace King
[SINGLES MATCH - FOR THE EWC UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP]
Dominic Sanders
VS Ace King
Aiello: Welcome back, folks. It's time for the Main Event of the evening! Ace King will put his United States Championship on the line here on MONDAY NIGHT BRAWL!
Carter: For the first time in three years, too.
Bennett: It don't make a shit if it's Monday Night Brawl, Rampage, pay-per-view, house show, donkey show... Dominic Sanders is going to whip Ace King's ass and walk away as the new United States Champion here tonight!
Aiello: Without further ado... Jessica, let's get to it!
Stroup: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! And it is for the Extreme Wrestling Corporation United States Championship!
The lights go out in the Greensboro Coliseum. Purple lights cut on around the entrance ramp as "Drop the World" by Lil' Wayne begins playing.
"I got ice in my veins, blood in my eyes
Hate in my heart, love in my mind"
Dominic Sanders steps out from the back in a dark purple hoodie and black wrestling tights on, finished by white boots. The hood of his sweatshirt drapes over his eyes as he stands at the top of the ramp. Sanders stands at the top of the ramp and soaks in the boos from the crowd, although there's an unusual smattering of support.
"So I pick the world up and I'ma drop it on your fucking head!"
Dominic beats his chest with both fists and raises his arms in the air with a roar. The majority of the crowd boos even louder as he starts to make his way down to the ring. A stoic face can be seen under the hood of his sweatshirt as he walks down the ramp.
Stroup: Introducing first, the challenger... from Fort Worth, Texas. Weighing in at two hundred and seventy pounds... DOMINIIIIC SAAAAANDEEERS!
Sanders rolls underneath the bottom rope and into the ring. He jumps up to his feet and stares out into the unadoring crowd underneath the hood of his sweatshirt. He grins and shakes his head as he moves over to the corner and waits.
Aiello: Guys, we heard it two weeks ago on Brawl. Dominic Sanders basically demanded this match. Do you think it was fair of him to get it?
Carter: Yes and no. Finishing second in the Rumble legitimizes that he deserves a shot at something. But, at the same time, Scorpio is the Number One Contender. He earned it. So that is a little bit tainted by Dominic Sanders being granted this match.
Bennett: I'll tell you what you can do with your taint, Carter. Shut up! Dominic Sanders deserves this match or any other that he asks for. Ever since he won the Undisputed Championship last year, Monday Night Brawl, Friday Night Rampage, Future Stars, AND Prime have all received ratings boosts! This company needs Dominic Sanders as much as anything!
Aiello: Both of you make some very good points. Even you, Steve.
Bennett: You say that as if it were a rare occasion, son!
"THE ACE OF SPADES!!! THE ACE OF SPADES!!!"
The crowd hears Lemmy's growl, and they go nuts as the opening bass line to 'Ace of Spades' rips through the Greensboro Coliseum. As the drums kick in, pyro goes off up and down the ramp in time with the beat, while frenetic red and gold spotlights pulse through the building before fixating on the ramp.
Stroup: His opponent... Making his way to the ring, FROM Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing in at 235 pounds... He is the Extreme Wrestling Corporation United States Champion... THE GAMBLER... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGGGGGG!!!
There's a huge explosion as the guitar kicks in, and the crowd roars as the one and only Ace King rises from a platform through the smoke of the pyro and into the spotlights, soaking in the ovation with his championship draped over his shoulder. 'The Gambler' stays on a knee, taking the title down to look at it for a few seconds. He takes a deep breath and walks to the ring gingerly, as he is still recovering from the superplex off of the top of the cage from Cyrus Black three nights ago. His right eye still has some swelling, although a small butterfly bandage covers a cut where the medical staff drained some fluid. He has some visible bruising on the bridge of his nose, as well. However, Ace maintains his usual composure as he calmly interacts with fans all the way down the ramp.
He stops for a couple seconds at the end of the ramp and then walks over to the ring steps. He waits as gold pyro explodes from the turnbuckles before walking up the steps and onto the apron. He steps through the ropes and walks to the middle of the ring and takes a knee. He stares out into the crowd before getting to his feet and hoisting his Championship up for all to see. Once he hands the belt to the referee, he gets his game face on while staring a hole through Dominic Sanders.
Aiello: Listen to this reaction for Ace King!
Bennett: A lot of people like this guy. I am not too fond of him, but he's been a hell of a Champion. The question is: can he make it past tonight? I don't think he can!
Carter: Today is day number seven hundred and twenty-one of Ace King being the United States Champion. If he makes it out of tonight, it's guaranteed that he will surpass the two year mark in his reign.
Aiello: Surely, there is NO ONE like Ace King!
Carter: It's going to be a tough go for the Gambler. He's bruised. He's beat up. But he's a fighter. He will give it his all here tonight.
Senior referee Paul Turner walks the United States Championship over to Dominic Sanders, who doesn't even look at it. He maintains his gaze across the ring at Ace King. Turner walks the Championship over to the timekeeper and calls for the bell.
DING DING DING
Both men walk slowly towards the center of the ring. They stand face-to-face, staring each other in the eyes. Neither man says a word as the crowd is mostly behind Ace King, minus a few random America’s Most Hated supporters. Sanders takes a small step back and extends his hand out for a handshake. Ace looks at Sanders’ hand and shakes his head, backing off a step. Sanders shrugs and pulls his hand back and to his side.
Bennett: What a poor sport! Wouldn’t even shake Dominic’s hand!
Carter: I wouldn’t trust that snake, either!
Bennett: Horse-shit! You heard Dominic Sanders the other day. He’s turning over a new leaf.
Aiello: I’ll believe that when I see it.
The two lock up and Sanders drives Ace back into the corner. Turner gets in and starts administering a five-count. He gets to four and Sanders lets go of Ace and backs off with his hands in the air. As Turner moves, Sanders pushes back into Ace. Ace uses the ropes as leverage and drives two feet into Sanders’ gut. Ace hops up into a seated position on the top turnbuckle and grabs Sanders’ head. He spins him around and drives Sanders into the mat with a tornado DDT. Ace turns over and covers Sanders.
ONE!
.
.
.
Kickout by Sanders.
Ace stays on the mat and puts Sanders in a rear-chinlock. After roughly fifteen seconds, Sanders begins to push up to his feet. He puts a hand on Ace’s back and shoves him into the ropes. As Ace returns, Sanders goes for a dropkick on the Gambler. However, Ace catches Sanders’ feet and drops him down to the mat before attempting a Texas Cloverleaf. Sanders quickly squirms his way to the ropes and grabs the bottom rope before Ace can lock it in. Ace is forced to release the hold and Sanders shuffles up to his feet.
Aiello: Ace King has been just a step ahead of Dominic Sanders, so far.
Carter: It’s clear that he is looking to wear down Dominic Sanders as quickly as possible. With Ace being weary, himself, his best shot is to get Sanders on his level of tired.
Ace stays on the attack and drives an elbow into Sanders’ chin. Sanders rocks backwards into the ropes and Ace runs and clotheslines Sanders up and over the top rope and to the floor. But Sanders lands on his feet. He reaches under the bottom rope and grabs Ace’s ankles, dragging him out to the floor. Sanders wraps both of his arms around Ace and runs, driving him back-first into the ring post. Ace arches his back in pain and drops to both knees on the outside. Sanders walks behind Ace and continues for about ten feet before turning around and running at Ace. He drives a knee hard into Ace’s back and Ace drops to the floor completely. Sanders puts one foot in the middle of Ace’s back and grabs the ring apron, using it as leverage to drive all of his weight into the middle of Ace’s back now with both feet.
Aiello: Two hundred and seventy pounds right in the middle of Ace King’s back. That cannot feel good!
Paul Turner is being very lenient, administering a slow ten count with both men on the outside. He is currently only at three as Sanders hops off of Ace and reaches down, grabbing Ace by the head to pull him to his feet. Sanders rolls Ace into the ring and hops up onto the ring apron. He goes over to the corner and begins climbing to the top turnbuckle. Before Sanders could square Ace up for Titletown, Ace is up to his feet. He walks over to Sanders and knocks his feet out from underneath him, causing Sanders to come crashing down groin-first onto the top turnbuckle. With Sanders wailing in pain, Ace grabs ahold of him and pulls him down off of the top turnbuckle. He stands Sanders in the corner and walks over to the opposite side of the ring. He runs at Sanders and drills him in the chin with a shotgun corner dropkick.
Aiello: Ode to his fiancee, Shelley Silver!
Bennett: That is so cute it makes me sick!
Sanders stumbles out of the corner. Ace hooks him up to begin the Four of a Kind. He lifts Sanders up and delivers the first suplex!
“ONE!”
He rolls over and executes the second suplex!
“TWO!”
He lifts Sanders up for the third suplex!
“THREE!”
He slowly gets up, his exhaustion catching up a little. He lifts Sanders up, but before he can execute the fourth suplex, Sanders drops down behind Ace. Sanders spins Ace around and delivers a hard left hook into Ace’s right eye, busting open his stitches and sending blood down Ace’s cheek. Sanders grabs Ace by the head, runs towards the ropes, and tosses him over the top rope and to the floor. Sanders drops down to his knees to catch his breath while Paul Turner exits the ring to check on Ace’s face.
Aiello: Ace is busted wide open and Sanders has a moment to breathe.
Carter: Those battle wounds from Friday night are beginning to catch up to Ace King. That’s a considerable amount of blood!
Medics come out from the back and relieve Turner. After a few moments, Paul Turner begins to walk over towards the timekeeper’s table. Sanders sees this and exits the ring, cutting Turner off. He yells something at Turner about how he better not be thinking of stopping the match. Meanwhile, the medics are able to slow the bleeding. Ace looks over at Sanders and Turner arguing with his good eye and pushes his way up to his feet. He walks over and hears Turner saying something about Ace. Ace interjects and insists that he’s perfectly fine to continue. As Turner looks back and forth between Sanders and Ace King staring a hole through him, he shakes his head and slides back into the ring.
Aiello: Just as it looked like Paul Turner might try and stop this match, both competitors convinced him otherwise!
Carter: A little weird to see Ace King and Dominic Sanders agreeing on something, but they’re both fighters. Neither one of them wanted this match to end. Not like that.
With Turner out of the way, the two men begin to trade blows on the outside of the ring. Ace shields Sanders from connecting with his eye and then drives a forearm into Sanders’ chest. Sanders stumbles backwards and trips on the ring steps, hitting the floor beyond them. Ace steps up onto the steps and then up onto the ring apron. He measures Sanders up and waits for Sanders to get to his hands and knees. WILD CARD! Right on the floor! Ace stumbles up to his feet and grabs Sanders. He rolls Sanders into the ring and slides in slowly after. He covers!
ONE!
.
.
.
TWO!!
.
.
.
THR-NO! Kickout!
Aiello: Dominic Sanders barely kicked out of that one!
Carter: What a devastating maneuver on the outside of the ring. Perhaps the time spent getting Sanders back into the ring was just enough to save this match for the challenger.
Aiello: Steve, you’ve been awfully quiet during this one.
Bennett: I’m just on the edge of my damn seat! Mind your own business!
Ace gets up onto his needs and wipes some blood off of his cheek. He grabs Sanders and lifts him to his feet. He drops down and goes to lift Sanders up into the torture rack for the Blackjack Bomb! But Ace drops Sanders and grabs his back.
Carter: It looks like that back is nagging him just enough to where it spasmed on him, guys.
Aiello: And Sanders being two hundred and seventy pounds doesn’t help that, either.
Ace stretches out his back for a moment, trying to shake it off. He reaches down and grabs Sanders again, but this time Sanders lifts Ace up and drives him down with a spinebuster hard into the mat! Sanders, feeling a small surge of energy, grabs Ace’s legs and locks him into the Texas Bluebonnet!
Bennett: YES! Tap out you bastard!
Aiello: So much torque on Ace King’s back right now!
Ace refuses to quit. Sanders leans back into the hold. Ace is trying to pull his way to the ropes, but isn’t making much progress. Sanders really puts all of his weight into the move. Ace reaches back, throwing fists into Sanders’ ribcage, but there just isn’t enough force behind the blows because of the poor angle. Turner asks Ace if he quits. Ace refuses! Ace reaches for the ropes. He’s inches away!
Carter: I don’t know how much more Ace King can take of this!
Aiello: Three days after a brutal one-hour cage match Ace King is fighting for his United States Title reign! And he is in a lot of pain right now!
Ace is still refusing to quit. The crowd gets behind him.
“ACE!”
“ACE!”
“ACE!”
“ACE!”
“ACE!”
Ace digs his palms into the mat. He pushes up with all of his might and lunges forward, just barely grasping the bottom rope. The crowd goes nuts as Turner gets up to force Sanders to break the hold. Sanders breaks it and walks over to the ropes to lean on the top rope as he tries to keep his composure.
Aiello: This Champion refuses to let go!
Carter: He’s been the United States Champion for almost two full years. He doesn’t know the word quit.
Bennett: Damn it!
Sanders walks back over to Ace. He lifts Ace off of the ground and shoves his head down. He lifts Ace up for a powerbomb. As he begins to drive Ace downward, Ace grabs ahold of Sanders’ head and arm and manages to somehow lock in the All-In!
Aiello: What a counter! Ace has it locked in right in the center of the damn ring!
Bennett: No way! Not a chance!
Ace repositions himself and his shin and gets the hold locked in perfectly. He uses his other leg and wraps it around Sanders’ waist. Sanders tries to lift Ace, but can’t quite get him. Turner checks on Sanders. Sanders refuses to quit! The crowd is going nuts again!
Carter: This is incredible! Moments ago we were wondering how much longer Ace could hold on. Now it’s flipped completely!
Sanders drives a fist into Ace’s side, but Ace keeps the hold locked in firmly. Sanders throws another fist, but this one with less force. And a third, even weaker.
Aiello: Sanders is fading!
Bennett: Come on, Dominic!
Sanders reaches his fist back slowly to drive it into Ace’s side again. But this time, instead of throwing a punch, he taps out on Ace’s body!!!
DING DING DING
Stroup: Here is your winner… and STILL Extreme Wrestling Corporation United States Champion…. AAAAAACE KIIIIIING!
Aiello: My God! What a match! Have we ever seen Dominic Sanders tap out?
Carter: In his nearly two years in the EWC, I do not believe he has ever tapped out.
Bennett: God damnit!
Aiello: Ace King has been through hell these last two days. Absolute hell! And he will walk away STILL the United States Champion here tonight!
Carter: Give Dominic Sanders a ton of credit! He fought his tail off and almost won this match.
Aiello: He sure did. Folks, we are out of time! We will see you again on November 4th from the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire! Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour on November the 3rd! You won’t want to miss this show! For Max Carter and Steve Bennett, I am Joe Aiello! Good night!
The shot zooms in on Ace King leaning against the turnbuckle in the corner with the United States Championship held firmly to his chest. The crowd are cheering loudly as “Ace of Spades” is playing over the speakers, and Ace King raises the United States Championship above his head! He goes to each side of the ring and nods respectively to the fans on that side, before giving Dominic Sanders a brief glance. These two have been through war after war with each other, and there’s almost a look of respect in Ace’s face. Sanders simply stares back before he rolls from the ring and looks to make his way up the ramp, when suddenly the lights and music cut out—
I'm the best the world has ever seen (I'm the best ever!)
I'm somebody you'll never forget 'cause I work hard and sweat in my tears (Can't be stopped!)
I'm never falling again and if I did, I'd come back
A spotlight hits the stage and the crowd boo intensely as Madonna’s “Iconic” blasts out. The camera catches King bringing his arms down and placing the United States Championship on his shoulder, whilst Sanders rolls his eyes and shakes his head, stopping his exit half-way up the ramp.
Carter: Of course he couldn’t just wait until next week, and give our champ a moment to celebrate…
After a few seconds ‘The S-Factor’ Scorpio emerges from the back and steps into the spotlight, staring down the ramp past Sanders, right at Ace King and the United States Championship. In his right hand he’s holding a re-built version of Vidal The Hairdryer, his signature weapon that took out the Undisputed Champion last Brawl. Scorpio smirks before he raises his left hand to his face and blows King a kiss…
Aiello: Well folks, that’s all the time we have tonight. We saw two inter-brand contests, a brutal X-Division match, a hell of a contest between America’s Most Hated, Cyrus Black, and Scorpio, and now we’ve seen Ace King retain his United States Championship once again. Waiting in the wings is the man on the stage right now… whenever they clash it’s going to be one of the ages we’re sure… we’ll see you next time on Monday Night Brawl!
