Inmate - It's done. He's gonna bring us in.
Tommy announced as he walked through the unlocked door, into a motel room where his girlfriend and Dave Malenko both appeared to have been waiting for him.
Malenko - ...and pay us right?
Inmate - Says I gotta win the first match. Not like they don't have the money. We haven't really got much choice though.
A real looker of a blonde starts to speak up...
Blondie - Tommy...
Inmate - Quiet. Listen Dave, I gotta take the chance. We can't go much longer in this fucking situation.
Malenko stood up and tossed down the notepad he had been writing on. He knew Tommy was right.
They were in a run down one room motel type place. You know the ones. Shitty two floors. Rusted balcony rail on a deck that overlooks a pool that has seen much better days. Most of the people living there renting way longer term than the owners had originally planned on.
The blonde was sitting on the kitchen counter. Though calling it a kitchen might be a stretch. Two old love seat style couches were in the small living room. Clothes and gym bags were randomly strewn about, and you could tell someone routinely slept on one of the couches.
If you could see inside the small bedroom, you'd see an old mattress laid on the floor. Two stained blankets on it. A duffle bag opened and overspilling with clothes. On the floor in the corner, a few 20lb dumbbells, and a small collection of handguns and some boxes of ammo.
Inmate - Seriously Dave pack your shit. It's moving time.
Malenko - I was just getting used to living in this dump. Maybe next time we can splurge and rent a shitty TWO bedroom.
Inmate - Oh piss off. They're gonna pay us ok, and we're actually gonna be eating again instead of just mixing water, vodka and protein.
Malenko loaded his clothes into his duffle bag and was zipping it up. The blonde had obviously done the same as she was walking out of the bedroom with another large duffle bag.
Blondie - Here boys.
She said as she handed out the handguns. The boys promptly hid them away somewhere inside the clothing they were wearing.
Malenko - What's the gig?
Inmate - It's EWC.
Malenko stared at the blonde and almost laughed.
Malenko - Like Monday Night Brawl kinda EWC...
Inmate just looked at him
Inmate - Yes... the Brawl kind. Except I guess my tryout's on the Gambit show.
Malenko - EWC. You realize you'll be on tv if you make it right?
Malenko went to the small kitchen. He frigged around with some of the contents of the kitchen cupboards, then went to the bathroom and grabbed whatever he could for leftover rolls of toilet paper. He proceeded to put the contents of the cupboard and toilet paper into the bathtub, and pour a bunch of lighter fluid from the kitchen onto the pile of garbage. when the container was mostly empty he handed it to Tommy.
Malenko - Anything you wanna add from your room?
Inmate disappeared into his room. Before long he was back and carrying a bunch of stuff wrapped in what looked like a gray t-shirt.
He tossed it into the tub, and then emptied the rest of the lighter fluid onto the pile.
Before long Malenko had found some more paper work and put it in.
With all 3 about ready leave, Tommy pulled out a pack of smokes and offered one to Malenko. Tommy lit his using his zippo. He then lit a piece of the paper Malenko had strewn about, and dropped the small torch into the tub, and they all walked out the motel door.
Before they made it down the rusted steel stairs from the second floor, black smoke had started to pour out of the open motel door. Not many people were outside, and the ones that were didn't seem to bother too much.
Moments later a black 2002 Chevy Malibu was pulling out of the parking lot.
Malenko - Alright boys and girls... wake me up when we're there.
