Ring Strategy: JoJo is a bully that prefers to cut the ring in half and beat his opponent into a bloody pulp. High-flyers are often caught out of the air and punished accordingly, and to make matters worse, JoJo is an exceptionally dirty wrestler that brutalizes his victims with illegal holds, chokes, strikes, and whatever else he can get away with in a five count. JoJo's biggest targets are the chest, and the knees. The rib-rupturing chops and gnarly German Suplexes are meant to disrupt his opponent's breathing, and eventually make it too hard to draw enough air their opponent's need to outlast someone like JoJo Rush. JoJo however, is a terrible technical wrestler. He is of course, always improving, but compared to most of the talent, JoJo can easily be outworked in chain wrestling, and ground control. JoJo's best bet is to take fights outside of the ring, where he can utilize his strength and size to throw his opponents into dangerous obstacles like the ring steps, barricades, apron, etc.
Of course, being the greatest Hardcore wrestler in the history of the EWC, JoJo's bread and butter are no DQ affairs. While JoJo doesn't reinvent the wheel with innovative hardcore moves or weapons, with no fear of pain or bodily harm, Rush is always willing to push hardcore matches to absurd affairs like sword fights, shootouts, and immense levels of property damage.
Lastly, Rush is rarely ever alone these days, traveling in a posse consisting of Tori Taylor, Alastor Grey, Callum Macbeth, and the Heat Packers, Dan Funk & Brodie Dawson. All of which regularly involve themselves in JoJo's matches to land cheap hits, distract officials, and whatever else they can get away with on live TV.
In-Ring Strengths:
Power: JoJo is one of the strongest competitors in EWC. Among his many feats of strength include suplexing a lion, and literally killing someone with a lariat. The kicker is JoJo's previous life as a bull-rider grants him a natural understanding of how to use his strength and leverage to overpower virtually anybody regardless of size.
Grit: Tougher than a $2 steak, and something akin to a slasher movie villain, Rush can shrug off extreme amounts of pain and keep coming. He fights through debilitating injury, and can perform incredible feats of strength late into the match.
Chops: Nobody can chop better in the world than JoJo Rush. His world-famous knife-hands crack ribs and smack the air out of anybody unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end.
In-Ring Flaws:
Empty-Headed Cowboy Fuck: Amongst the EWC, JoJo is one of the worst technical wrestlers. His move-set consists mostly of fundamentals and simpler moves that allow his power to compensate for lack of technical expertise. Additionally, this also means that JoJo often lacks a consistent defense for unorthodox or uncommon moves. While he doesn’t fall for the same mistake twice, the first mistake can be the difference between winning or losing.
Straightforward: JoJo doesn’t lie, nor does he misdirect. If he says he’s coming after your injured knee, that is exactly what he is going to do with zealot-like zeal.
Limited Move-Set: Michinoku Drivers, pele kicks, Canadian Destroyers? JoJo doesn’t have any time to learn moves like those, nor does he care to learn.
Partially Blind: Thanks to Morgan Darkwater, JoJo suffers from partial blindness in his left eye. His sight is mostly good but anything to his left can appear fuzzy or blurred, leaving Rush vulnerable to attacks coming from his left or from his perirhinal.

MINI BIOGRAPHY
((The past will be broken up into two sections. Pre-Professional Wrestling, and the latter being JoJo’s EWC career.))
The Rushman family are one of the most influential families in Texas. Jonathan is the second of three sons fathered by Patriarch Jebediah Rushman. Jebediah was firm, but fair with his sons. Providing them the best education, the arts, but especially into the family business.
Jakob, the oldest son was a natural cowboy. But a tragic accident at the rodeo paralyzed Jakob from the waist down. This didn’t hinder Jakob at all, who took well to the business and administrative side of the business. Graduating from Penn State with a degree in business. That tragic accident scared the youngest son, Eli out of the rodeo lifestyle and instead into something a bit more safer in professional wrestling. To which he found himself a natural. Eli might have been the run of the Rushman boys, but in the ring there were few that picked up the sport faster than Eli. An unconfirmed rumor was that Eli was going to be the youngest wrestler to ever sign a contract with the EWC. Everyone refuses to confirm or deny the rumors.
Jonathan, the middle child? He took really well to the cowboy lifestyle. So exceptionally well that in his prime Jonathan dominated the professional circuit. In the Rodeo world, Jon was their biggest rock star. Jon didn’t enjoy his work, he only did it ‘cause it paid well and he was great at it. He filled the void in his lack of direction with partying, drugs, and excessive amounts of alcohol. Much like a rockstar of old, Jon was no stranger to the law, routinely “spending the night” at the station to sober up from being God’s drunkest driver. Because of who Jonathan’s father was, Jonathan was kevlar. In the state of Texas, he could do anything short of killing somebody and get away with nothing more than a slap of the wrist.
Jon’s so self-centered, he abandoned the rodeo circuit and traveled to live on a farm of his own in Mexico with the love of his life, a woman he met in Mexico. If you thought this upset Jon’s parents, Jon’s wife was ready to hide a body. The runaway romance did not last long, as the only way Jon could make end’s meet on his own was as an infamous Cartel enforcer only ever known as “El Diablo Blanco.” Once the Federales got too wise, Jon found he had no other option but to break from his Mistress for her protection, and move back to the States.
Back in the states, Jon didn’t have a job, nor did he need one with his wealth. He spent most days tending to the animals on his family’s estate, or drinking himself into a stupor in a loveless marriage. One night, after him and Eli drank far too much for their own good, Eli forced JoJo to drive them both back to Eli’s home. In a senseless tragedy, Jonathan and his brother Eli are fish tailed by a truck, which sends Jonathan and Eli tumbling off the side of a cliff. Both survive the crash to the bottom. Jon in fact makes it out relatively well with only breaking his left arm, a concussion and a broken leg. Eli however was mortally wounded. Unable to feel half his body, and feeling only extreme pain from the rest of his body he could feel, Eli’s dying wish was for Jon to make Eli’s death quick.
Jon obliged.
The accident, and the story thereafter made Jonathan a pariah to his family. While his family was able to get Jonathan off from any legal trouble, the Rushman family turfed Jonathan to a sober living facility in Seattle and all but excommunicated Jon. Foolishly, Jonathan believed that if he could win a world title in the biggest professional wrestling company in the world, it would somehow redeem Jon in the eyes of his family and his wife. Not only did Jon take his sobriety seriously, he went and found work at a local gym to pay for his classes from a man known as Hank “The Slammer” Sampson. A former New York Street tough turned West-Coast wrestling coach. Hank saw the passion in Jon’s eye and his potential, and called in his one favor in the EWC to give Jon a try out. To which, Jon excelled. When given a contract, Jon elected to go by a different name. Much like how he was El Diablo Blanco in Mexico, *JoJo Rush* was his wrestling moniker. A hat he could throw away once he had seen Eli’s dream realized.
((EWC History))
In 2022, the “Cowboy” JoJo Rush debuted on Brawl in a triple-threat between Kolby Kreel, and a pirate by the name of Captain Morgan Darkwater. JoJo had his debut match won until Darkwater tossed JoJo out of the ring to steal the win. Despite this, JoJo and Darkwater, both men out of time, saw themselves as kindred spirits that would rather die than be anyone other themselves. But Darkwater couldn’t see past JoJo’s mask– and in fairness to Darkwater, neither could JoJo. Under each disappointing loss, and frustrating setback bubbled an angry, violent man. Darkwater couldn’t see the darkness in JoJo, but he could feel it call to the rookie. Darna Dare took special interest in the Cowboy. Perhaps she too saw potential in JoJo as a wrestler, maybe she saw potential in something else about JoJo. Or maybe he was nothing more than a part to play in unleashing an eldritch horror onto this world. Either way, she too couldn’t stop the darkness inside of JoJo. The part of him that made hurting others easy. It came as naturally to him as bull riding did.
After a malicious beatdown on Moxie, JoJo cut himself off from most people in his life. He couldn’t dare risk getting hurt like that again. Then, Tori Taylor and the House reached out to JoJo and offered their membership, to which, JoJo agreed. At Wrestlefest, following a draw, JoJo displayed his colors, showing that next season, JoJo’s fortunes will be different.
Rush’s 2023 start as the Blackhat started rough, with the Blackhat bouncing out of the Lord of the Ring Tournament in the first round. But it wasn’t until JoJo started stacking up big wins in the X-Division did the Blackhat come to a rather astounding revelation: It didn’t matter if he wasn’t the most experienced wrestler, or even the better wrestler. He can just beat idiots over the head with blunt objects. After dominating wins in Halifax, South America, but beating then X-Division Champion in Tokyo in a Bat of Destruction match was the gunshot heard across the world. But it wasn’t until Brawl vs Rampage did Rush truly make his mark in history by being the first man to bisect a competitor with a lariat. A tragic fight against Darna lead to JoJo exploding Darna with a lariat.
That night changed JoJo forever. He found himself trapped in darkness, fighting demons. That adversity however, made JoJo strong enough to once again beat Reid for the X-Division Championship at Parabellum. Even with enemies like Xavier Reid, JoJo found himself unable to bear the guilt of his actions, and found himself unable to distinguish between JoJo the man, and the “Blackhat” one of many masks JoJo wore to hide from himself.
However, It wasn’t until his battle with Ruthann Anderson until JoJo truly learned the concept of forgiveness, and the power that it could have. He thanked the Hall of Famer by granting her a true retirement by spearing her through a fight pit cage. Rush would end the night finishing 7th after entering 3rd in the Rumble, where El Pablo eliminated JoJo after a pinata triggered a PTSD flashback that left JoJo immobile.
In that flashback, JoJo saw more than one of his many grave mistakes. He saw a storm. A storm coming to destroy anything and everything in its wake. JoJo was that storm. He was the storm that Darna foretold was arriving. He is a force of reckoning that will only ever destroy everything not strong enough to survive. Rush now seeks to defy his fate as the destroyer of worlds. But he needs the world to follow his example. JoJo can only save those he makes strong enough to save those who know they must save themselves.
