MINI BIOGRAPHY
Growing up in Memphis in the early 90s, childhood friends Dan Funk & Brodie Dawson wanted nothing more than to grow up and become professional wrestlers. Their favorite tag team was The Southern Express, always watching tapes of their matches together and hoping that one day they could see them live, although their families were too poor to afford to take them to a show. One fateful day, the teenage Heat Packers finally pooled enough money together to see the Southern Express when they were announced for an indie show in Memphis. But the Southern Express they saw that day was not the Southern Express they grew up with. They were old, slow, and worst of all, lost the match. Dan & Brodie couldn't believe it. They finally understood why people say "never meet your heroes." Disgusted at how far their heroes had fallen, Dan & Brodie were forever changed. As soon as they entered their 20s, they trained to become professional wrestlers, but not to be as great as The Southern Express... BUT TO BE BETTER! Fueled by anger and a need to prove that the tag team wrestling they watched as kids did not die in The Southern Express' old age, The Heat Packers competed all over the world on the independent scene, winning tag championships wherever they went. They were determined to accomplish one goal: face The Southern Express and put the sad, old men down. Finally, after 10 years on the indie scene, The Heat Packers' work paid off, and they were offered by Dimitri Graves to join Jack Severn in The House and sign with the EWC for their Prime brand. Their season did go end well, however, with the team losing all of their matches after their Gambit tryout. With their most humbling loss being to The Southern Express in the latter team's retirement match at WrestleFest, The Heat Packers looked to regroup and change their attitudes heading into Season 24.
In Season 24, The Heat Packers would turn it all around and go nearly undefeated, save for a loss to fellow Housemates Next Level, who they initially didn't get along with, and a loss in the first round of the trios tournament to old enemies Shinijoshi. After defeating 3pAC for the Tag Team Championships, and again successfully defending the titles against them in the Youngblood 2023 main event in a 2 out of 3 falls match, The Heat Packers' momentum would come crashing to a halt in a war against The Silent Discotechnicos. In Season 25, The Heat Packers are laser focused on once again dominating the division and winning their titles back.
