During WrestleFest XVIII
“This is really hard... to be sitting here looking over at my dear husband watching him sleeping. Since we have gotten the news about his illness, I will admit I went into the mood of not wanting to accept his fate and now I have accepted it. I knew I needed to because if he didn’t see that I was strong. He wouldn't feel he could leave me alone.”
Ruthann gently slid out of the chair she was curled up in wearing the robe that was keeping her warm. She walked over to the King size bed looking down at her husband and gently cupped his face while he snorted a bit stroking his face. She just laughs softly walking out of the bedroom down the small hallway. She stopped in front of the bedroom door that was a bit open and she peeked her head noticing how her granddaughter was sleeping. She had one leg going one way while the other way was doing the same and looks like she was sleeping upside down on the bed over the edge of it.
Ruthann laughs softly because that is how Jason would sleep as a child. She walks into the bedroom and gently picks her up from the edge without waking her up and places her back in the center of the bed. Angel would then just gently talk in her sleep.
“Promise... When I wake up you will be here... daddy...”
Angel would just gently cuddle up with her Dominic Sanders pillow closely. She took a deep sigh because she knew what happened last time. Ruthann made sure she was tucked in walking out of the room, closing the door slightly behind her. Ruthann walked down the hallway some more and started cleaning up some of the toys that were on the floor. When everyone is asleep, Ruthann takes out the time for herself. She found her spot on the couch as she started to silently cry to herself. It is so easy to place on a face for others to believe you are ok. You are a strong one. At times even the strong ones have their moments.
Right now this was her moment Jaden was sick and it wasn’t looking good. She thought back to all the tests. She thought back to all the treatments they have done to help with the tumor. They try everything and it seems there was nothing else they could do. Ruthann felt all of her dreams their goals they had together in retirement weren't going to happen but Jaden made her see. She could still do all of their goals they were thinking of doing once he is gone. He would need someone to tell his story and she would be the perfect person to tell it.
Ruthann finished with her cry feast. She stood up and standing there watching her was Jaden. Jaden with his hands inside of his PJs pockets has watched his wife from a far for a few minutes. Ruthann didn’t want him to ever see her in that spot because she knew she was supposed to be the strong one for them both. Jaden walked over to her as he reached over and gently would wipe her tears with his thumb as he gently grabbed her face with his hands looking into her eyes softly.
“You know, I love you so much. Thank you for everything.”
Jaden leaned forward and placed one of the deepest kisses he ever had on his wife before holding her close to him. Ruthann returned the kiss just as strong leaning their forehead against each other with tears coming down their face. Ruthann just smiles softly up into her sweet husband's eyes.
“Like you say there wouldn’t be an Xplode if there wasn’t a Ruthless in his life. There wouldn’t be a Ruthless if Xplode wasn’t in her life. Through all the ups and downs we had together I would never regret them because they made us both strong in different ways. You never truly have to say those words to me because I felt those words every time you look into my eyes. Even though there were times I wish I could have kicked your damn ass!”
Jaden busted out laughing along with Ruthann as he held her closely, looking right down into her eyes deeply while he kissed his wife's fingertips gently and placed his hand with hers. He then surprised her and placed her over his shoulder. She laughs softly covering her mouth trying not to laugh too loud because she didn’t want to wake up Angel in her room. Jaden slap her ass playfully looking over at her over his shoulder. He winks towards her while he takes her right back into their bedroom and locks the bedroom door behind them.
“I did everything in my power to make sure that death wouldn’t be creepy around my father's doorstep but it shows you can’t fight against something that will happen no matter what.”
Jason just finished taking his shower he grabbed the towel wrapping it around himself. That was a hard-on fight he had out there but he knew this was going to be his last match. A way to go out he thought with only one win to his record and about 8 losses. He didn’t know how to feel about that record. He was placing his shirt on button-up while his locker room door opened. It was Jaden. Jason was a bit shocked that his father was standing there but he felt he knew why he was there. Jason just shocked his head taking in a deep breath looking right at his father.
“I don’t need your shit right now! Next year the ring rust won’t be there. I already have some things planned to do to improve in the ring.”
Jaden closed the door behind him watching Jason while he was placing his stuff away but then he noticed Jason’s bag was hanging a little statue of a handmade angel with the name written on with paint. Jaden just gently smiles, placing his hand on it looking over at Jason placing a hand on his shoulder.
“I love the fact how you took on the role of being a father. I will admit when I was your age at first I wanted to try to give it a go but I couldn’t give up the opportunity to come here. I want you to know I wish I would have just brought your mother along with me instead of just leaving her behind but... .”
Jason shook his head looking up at his father and interrupted him before he could even finish the sentence.
“If you did.. Do you think mom and you would have been able to do what your two have done separately before coming back together? When we first met I didn’t want anything to do with you but Terry told me how I need to put myself in your shoes. Think about all the things you had to face as a child. You weren't taught by the evil bastard how to be a real father. You learned more about that quality as you got older and even though you suck at it. You have been a great father and you are an amazing grandfather to Angel. Even though I have to tell her she can’t use certain words till she is like 18.”
They both laugh as Jason sat down with his father in his locker room. Jason would gently wrap the towel around his neck so his shirt wouldn’t get soaked with water.
“You also have done great work with Bosa but I am sorry that didn’t work out but I feel he will learn how to just let it roll off his back but it will take him a while to accept it. I will do my best to help him see it as an honor. Dad, I just wish I could have helped more...”
Jaden leaned his head against the wall of the locker room as he just smirked a bit as turn his head towards his son with a soft laugh.
“Don’t get all mushy on me. Look, the doctors try EVERYTHING they could. I also know you going over to Japan wasn’t only about the drama you got pulled into with this shit of your Uncle/Cousin whatever they are to your mother. I know about the black market shit too!”
Jason ran a hand into his hair looking down because he had gone really deep into the world he was trying to pull out. Jaden just placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Now, all you have to worry about is how all of that stuff is going to affect Angel's future and your career here. You talked about how you are ready to bring those two worlds together. Do it in a way 1. You become one of the best damn wrestlers out there and 2. You don’t get yourself killed! Your mother can’t lose us both. I am scared to think what will become of her after I am gone.”
Jason smirks a bit.
“Who is becoming the mushy one now!”
Jaden just laughs softly as he stands up with a bit of a smirk.
“Very funny and look who's talking.. I notice how you look at someone.. You look at them like you did with Kim Smalls... Don’t wait 20 years like I did to bring your family together.”
Jason shook his head with a soft laugh.
“Dad, Bunny is just a friend...”
Jaden smirks a bit.
“I wasn’t talking about Bunny..or the slut that is my granddaughter's mother either.. .”
Jaden just looks over at his son as Cheryl walks inside while Jason tries to hide the fact he was happy to see her. Jaden just smiles looking over at the nurse who has been taking care of him for these few days with a soft smile while she starts to check on Jason making sure he had no injuries and checking him out for any cuts and bruises.
