EwC Hardcore Revolution Recap Results [01/29/06]
Welcome to our live coverage of Hardcore Revolution. Refresh this page throughout the night for all the latest updates in the coverage. BIG EVIL defeated GILLBERG with a Frog Splash in the pre-show match before the PPV, for those keeping score.
EwC Hardcore Revolution Opener:
Hardcore Revolution opened up with a video package looking at the destruction caused in past Elimination Chamber matches where the EwC's first ever Hardcore Champion was crowned, with comments from past competitors. The fireworks then went off in the arena as FBI and Colin Hanks welcomed us to the show from ringside!
INFERNO MATCH
DAVE DYER VS HELLRAISER
Both men came out flying...both wanting to prove something to the world. This was not your average PPV opener, it set the tone of what was to be a great PPV. No man had a clear edge during the match, it was back and forth and filled with move after move.
In the end, it was Dave Dyer who had the edge and set Hellraiser on fire for the big W
THE AFTERMATH
Shadow Man came out after the match and addressed the fans. Welcomed them to the show and told Dave he put on a good match as he walked to the back. Shadow talked about his amazing career in the EwC and he owed everything to the fans and his friends in the back. He then bashed THE X and moved onto the topic everyone wanted to hear.
He said he would give anyone in the back a shot at the world title tonight as the main event. He started to go into detail as to anyone that felt they were worthy of a shot would get it tonight. He was interupted by Ebon who came out saying he was to be champ, only to be cut off by his tag team partner Dreadnaught. Shadow agreed saying he would have to even the odds of a gang up by bring out Memphis. All four men argued in the ring till Cameron Hayden came out.
Hayden said that Haydenism is going to rule all, and that Shadow and Memphis should convert right now or else. Memphis told Hayden to shut up and put himself in the main event which takes place right after Haydens title defense. After being mocked Hayden agreed and then the 3 of them started to beat on Shadow and Memphis before Hurricane Jeff came running out to help Shadow and Memphis.
The Haydenists were cleared out of the ring and Shadow confirmed the match. He said he was inventing a match called THE SHADOWS OF DEATH. It would be a battle royal with all of them in the ring at once. The catch was, no one could throw Shadow over, but instead the last man with Shadow Man would battle for the world title. He also said, as an added bonus...the winner of the SHADOWS OF DEATH would get a MONEY IN THE BANK shot. So if they won the match and lost to shadow man, they could get a rematch at anytime. All men agreed and left the ring.
As Shadow Man was heading back, he was attacked from behind by The X. The X came out with a bat wrapped in barbed wire and beat on him till Angel and Eddie Mendez came out to help, but were too late as the damage was done
TLC MATCH
RYAN MC.G VS JESSE NUNEZ
Jesse pretty much owned this match, but Ryan did put up a fight. However it just wasn't in the cards as Jesse power bombed him through a table for the win
THE AFTERMATH
Mac and Devon Trump were talking backstage and then Haden and Saint approach them trying to convince them to join up with Haydenism....but they failed to do so
CUBAN STREET FIGHT
PITBULL VS SANDMAN
Sandman was everything he said he would be and more. It took 6 minutes before Pitbull managed to get in a good clear shot at Sandman, but even after Sandman was out to prove that he should be the main event of this ppv and forever more.
THE AFTERMATH
Ryan and Monoxide came out to help after the match but Sandman took them all out
6 SIDES OF STEEL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
MEMPHIS & EDDIE MENDEZ VS FULL METAL (C)
Match started off with Jason Walker saying he suspended Memphis and that Eddie would have to fight for the titles on his own. The match started and Eddie was holding his own, but couldn’t for long. After it looked like all was lost for him…Memphis managed to sneak past the guards and ran into the building and got into the cage and cleaned house. In a close call nail biter of a finish, Memphis couldn’t rescue Eddie in time as Full Metal picks up the win and the solidifies the titles
THE AFTERMATH
Memphis stayed around in the ring on his knees for sometime after the match. He took the loss hard and blamed himself.
Hurricane Jeff came out and talked about his matches for the night. He said he would be the International Champion and that he would do whatever it takes to make sure Shadow Man remains world champion tonight
Draven was spotted back stage talking with Eddie Mendez and then comforted Memphis with help of Angel
INTERNATIONAL TITLE LADDER MATCH
HURRICANE JEFF VS PROPHECY VS HOWELL (C)
A main event on it’s own, this match carried 2 of the fastest rising stars in the EwC and a man on a mission to re-create himself and win the yearly award for best turn around. Jeff seemed poised to make truth on his words as he came out with everything he had in this match. Jeff found himself closer and closer to winning the title, till Burgess snapped and gained momentum. The story of the match was Howell however…as Jeff and Prophecy teamed up many times….Howell proved he is a champion for a reason. However, Howell needed some help from Walker to get the win
THE AFTERMATH
While Walker, Howell and Niles continued to work on Jeff & Burgess, Mac led an army of a banged up Shadow Man, Memphis, Eddie and Angel to ring and gave Jeff & Burgess the help the needed. A war of words broke out, heating things up between Mac and Walker
Angel to advantage of the time in the ring by talking to her fans alongside Shadow Man. The two conversed about the popularity they both now enjoy and how true friends can be made in the ring. To the delight of the people watching, the two of them locked lips FUELLING speculation that maybe these two are more then “just friends”. Shadow Man said he guarantees Angel will still be the champion but not with any help from him.
ULTIMATE X TV TITLE MATCH
ADAM MAYHEM VS TIGRIS VS ANGEL (C)
One of the best matches of the night…period! Adam came out first and said he is apart of everymans dream tonight. That we would “get it on” with two of the EwC’s hottest “DIVAS”. This sparked an outburst by Tigris and Angel who in a MAJOR TWIST AND SURPRISE came out together, saying they are not divas and both would prove once and for all tonight that they should not be taking lightly.
For most of the match, Angel and Tigris teamed together, proving to be a SCARY combination and came up with moves never before seen in the EwC. While Adam also proved to be a serious contender he was no match for the double teaming as no one would be able to withstand it for long. At the end, Tigris and Angel put friendship aside and tuned in an amazing match. However, it was Angel once again, who remain the champion in the EwC’s first ever Ultimate X match
ANYTHING GOES CAREER HARDCORE TITLE MATCH
THE X VS SHADOW MAN (C)
To a very loud and expect amount of boo’s, the X came out with a bag full of weapons. He told everyone that they would see the end of Shadow Man tonight. But as he continued to speak Shadow Mans music kicked in and on the way to the ring he spoke into a mic. He said X has gone too far and is a coward. He explained X had to attack him early on just to make sure Shadow wouldn’t show up and would have to quit. X argued back but it was futile as he was booed every time he spoke.
However, X proved he was better then many thought. He charged at Shadow Man and knocked him out in his first move of the night. He then dragged Shadow Man into the ring as everyone seemed to be on there feet screaming for someone to come out and help…while others yelled GET UP. However get up Shadow Man wouldn’t as The X pulled out weapon after weapon and used it on a battered and bleeding Shadow Man.
Panic struck the arena as X signalled for his finisher and nailed it. However the X’s attitude got the better of him as he continued to work on Shadow instead of pinning him. Finally Hurricane Jeff, Memphis, Angel, Eddie, Hirsh, Jackal and a few others all made there way down to ringside at different times of the night. Each time though Shadow Man shook his head and did not want any interference. It wasn’t till the 8 minute mark that Shadow Man would now get the upper hand as he got a boot up on an attempted frog splash by X. Form that moment Shadow Man never looked back. The match took place all over the stands and up and down the walk way.
Shadow Man went on to make a frog splash off his own off the top of a ladder and covered for the emotional win that led to a standing ovation. Jackal then climbed into the ring and dragged X’s body out howling the whole way
THE AFTERMATH
Shadow Man was pretty beaten up and ended up with 17 stitches on his back. Mac met with Shadow Man backstage about something
Jackal booted X out the door and slammed him into a BFI Bin outside the building and locked it before sending it rolling down the street
HCW WORLD TITLE MATCH
JACKAL VS CAMERON HAYDEN (C)
In the longest match of the night, a whopping 34 minutes! Jackal made a strong case to being the HCW World Champion. Several times Jackal had the upper hand and looked like he was going to win…however Cameron Hayden would somehow get right back into the match and prevent the 3 count. It came down to a Saint interference via the title belt in Jackals face for Hayden to win.
THE AFTERMATH
Hayden and Saint left the ring right after the match…and Jackal was not impressed. He made the cut throat sign to both of them while remaining in the ring…very upset, yelling at the ref
MAIN EVENT
EWC UNDISPUTED WORLD TITLE MATCH
SHADOWS OF DEATH MATCH WINNER VS SHADOW MAN (C)
Prior to the match, Shadow Man came out and said he was advised that he could not fight in this match. He said due to the extent of his injuries, President Mac and the on hand medical staff could not give Shadow Man clearance to fight. So Shadow Man found a replacement. He said he wanted only the best man for the job. Said only one man can live up to being a true champion and then to the UPROAR of the fans called out Hirsh Valentine. Hirsh came out and Shadow Man asked him to defend his World Title for him. Hirsh said he was honoured and would do whatever he could to make sure Shadow Man would still be the champion.
This match was an absolute classic. On many occasions Hayden tried to send Hirsh over the top but then was reminded that if Hirsh goes over, Hayden would lose out at the title. Hirsh, Memphis and Jeff teamed up against Ebon, Dread and Hayden for most of the match till Ebon and Dread were eliminated. However, Dread took Jeff with him over the top rope. The match went on till a mistake sent Memphis out of the ring. Hirsh bent over behind a staggering Hayden, while Memphis went to go and clothesline Hayden out of the ring…but Hayden dropped to the ground and Memphis tripped over Hirsh and went over the ropes.
Hirsh was then stunned and the bell sounded
That’s when Bruce Buffer made his way to the ring to a large uproar of the fans. He stood in the middle of the ring sending Hirsh and Hayden to different corners. A mic was lowered from the roof and this happened….
"Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to Hardcore Revolutions 2006, and the main event of the evening, sanctioned by The Chicago boxing and wrestling commission, and the EWC. Tonight, we will witness 2 great Wrestlers battle for the World Heavyweight Title. Are you read!? Wrestling fans are you, RRRREEEEAAADDDDYYY!?
”For the thousands of fans in attendance, and the millions watching around the world, ladies and gentleman, let’s get READY TO RUMBLE!"
What a match it was. Hayden showed his weaknesses early and often though due to fatigue from the previous matches. Hirsh took advantage and came up with a heavy dose of lefts and rights.
then when it looked to be over, Saint came out to the ring to help out Hayden but as he went to go break up a three count, Shadow Man intercepted him and sent him out of the ring. The ref got to three and Hirsh won the match.
THE AFTERMATH
The fans went nuts and Shadow Man and Hirsh slapped fives before Shadow called for the mic. Shadow thanked Hirsh for his efforts and reminded hayden that he could claim a rematch anytime he wanted…but it wouldn’t be against Shadow Man. Everyone looked stunned and a few screamed in the audience as they knew what was about to happen.
Shadow looked over at a out of breath and tired Hirsh and said that Hirsh wasn’t fighting for Shadow Man. That he wasn’t put in this match to ensure Shadow Man would remain champion. Hirsh looked confused. Shadow Man then said that Hirsh won this match on his own and the World title was on the line. He said this means…Hirsh is the new EwC Undisputed Champion of the World. Hirsh’s mouth dropped wide open as Shadow Man handed the belt over to Hirsh
The show went off the air with the two of them hugging in the ring
