**-Madison Square Garden-**

Streamers and flares set off throughout the arena. The “Garden” has been decorated from floor to ceiling with EWC banners, flags, posters, and random memorabilia. The audience is on the feet jamming to the music. The camera does a fly by through the audience and members do their best to get recognized. Hands are flying, tonsils are bleeding and the excitement in the room is unlike anything MNB has yet to see. Styles and Aiello have been nominated to commentate the first ever MNB PPV event.
Styles: Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls. Friends of all shapes and sizes…are you ready for “Affliction?”
Aiello: The wait is over folks…it’s time to order delivery and fill a cooler full of beer, place it beside your chair and prepare yourself for a night full of “Holy shits” and “Oh my god’s”.
Styles: We have the best wrestlers MNB has to offer here tonight folks. Everyone that is anyone on Brawl will be a part of this show. The illustrious and well-known Madison Square Garden is filled from wall to wall with EWC fans. A record setting 20,000 some odd fans here tonight Aiello.
Aiello: And you can damn well expect each and everyone of them to fill their shorts and have their socks knocked off.
Styles: You said it Aiello…Our first order of business....
Through the entrance corridor steps referees Byron Heder, and Calleb Fallon. They stop at the top of the ramp and wave to the audience. They then continue down the ramp making their way to a section designated for EWC staff.
Styles: Our very Byron Heder and Calleb Fallon will be refereeing our matches, and I’ll tell you what Aiello, these two guys have been in the middle of a lot drama since joining the staff of Monday Night Brawl.
Aiello: It’s the cards your dealt when you become a ref Styles, those two men play em’ well, and they are two tough sons o’ bitches.
The lights dim and the microphones are cut off. Aiello and Styles look around wondering what is going on. Upon the titantron above the ramp pops in the face of Gene O’Brien. The Audience goes nuts…hoping for some exciting news. Gene is grinning from ear to ear and the camera steps back where we now see the head and torso of Gene O’Brien.
Gene O’Brien: Monday Night Brawl, Pay Per View, “Affliction”. I haven’t been here a full month yet and I’m already being rewarded with a prize such as this…hosting Brawls first ever Pay Per View.
The audience roars with approval.
Gene O’Brien: Styles…Aiello…don’t worry about the microphones they will come back on once I’ve stated my peace. I have some news for all you out there, some news for the guys in the back as well. If you will look to the left and right of entrance stage you will see some men…
About 15 to 20 men make their way from a side entrance and line up along the left and right side of the floor just below the entrance ramp. They are wearing black t-shirts with EWC labels. Most are well built, large men.
Gene O’Brien: These gentleman here will be assisting me during the show. If something gets out of hand, they will be the solution. I call them the “Protection Squad” they are here for the safety of everyone and the punishment of anyone that might need it. Very well then…I wash my hands of this…Styles? Aiello? Take her away boys…
The screen cuts to black, the lights come back on, and the microphones once again receive power. Styles and Aiello look at each other for a second before speaking..
Styles: He has his way of doing things, not up to me to argue.
Aiello: Are you kidding me, the asshole cut off our mics, that’s like taking the plunger away from the Plumber.
Styles: That’s the way it goes Aiello, he makes the rules. Our first match tonight is no ordinary exhibition match. We have Mr. Punctuality himself, Ryan McGuinness, taking on the ever-proficient Goth. Now I don’t know about you Aiello, but my vote is going for McGuinness. His dues have been long over paid and this kid has become a fighter.
Aiello: I don’t think so Styles…Ryan doesn’t stand a chance against Goth. These two men are pretty well matched in size, but Goth is the much better wrestler. You saw the way he took out Namok!
Styles: It’s definitely a damn good way to start off a show. Tonight, Ryan McGuinness and Goth will be fighting for a Contender spot for the International Title, either winning by Submission, Knock out, or 3-count pin fall. It wasn’t stated on information charts Aiello, but this is a lumberjack match, there is no count outs.
Aiello: I will say one thing about Gene, he never ceases to surprise me.
"Harvester of Sorrow" by Metallica begins to play quietly over the PA. The auditorium fades to theater black. Through the speaker system we hear something flying around the auditorium. We hear the wings getting louder and louder as it travels from speaker to speaker. Suddenly it comes to a stop down by the ring. When the noise stops a spotlight immediately flashes down on the screen. There in the center of the ring stands Goth; His arms out, his head high. The music comes to a closing.
The lights dim and Ryan appears in the ring from no-were. He is face to face with Goth and the two are in a stare down. The audience is in shock of how quick McGuinness got in the ring.
Aiello: Holy shit…he came out of nowhere.
Styles: It looks like Goth is a little shocked as well.
Goth takes a few steps back and props himself against the turnbuckle. Ryan stares him down for a moment and then does the same. The ring announcer makes his way to the center of the ring and introduces the wrestlers. The announcer leaves the ring and Ryan and Goth prepare themselves.
McGuinness gets a little overexcited and before the bell could actually ring he storms at Goth. Goth had taken off his trench coat and handed it to an official, while he was standing back up he found Ryan Charging at him. McGuinness clotheslines Goth and into the corner Goth is slammed. Ryan pulled Goth out off the turnbuckle and began working Goth over with a few left hooks and an uppercut that met the chin of Goth sending Goth fumbling backwards. Ryan capitalized by unleashing a power slam taking Goth to the mat hard. The match appeared to be dominated by McGuinness, until the winds of change blew in the favor of Goth. McGuinness stopped beating on the skull of Goth and went for the legs for a few moments. This gave Goth plenty of time to shake the blur out of his eyes and redirect himself. Goth proved he could out wrestle McGuinness by putting a standing McGuinness on his back with a leg sweep, followed by a leg lock. McGuinness was in pain…and so it continued through the match. Goth began working over Ryan’s leg, starting at the ankle and working up to the knee. The pain was evident as Ryan began to favor his leg by limping. Goth had done damage to the left leg, and as he picked up Ryan for a backdrop he quickly maneuvered to the right leg and began pulled at the knee. Ryan bellowed in pain and with a quick kick, caught Goth in the face sending him backwards. Goth caught himself and checked his face for bleeding. He looked at Ryan and shook his head, watching as Ryan used the ropes to get to his feet. Goth allowed Ryan to get to his feet and Ryan propped himself on the ropes. Goth laughed loudly and then ran towards Ryan and leaped for a splash. Ryan moved forward catching Goth by the lower torso and using Goths momentum Ryan flipped him over the ropes. Goth hit the floor hard and cupped his back in pain. McGuinness turned to see Goth cringed and with a quick hop he bounced over the ropes for a splash onto Goth. Goth managed to roll out of the way just in time, Ryan hit the floor belly first. The audience yelled out “Oooooh”. Goth got to his feet and began stomping at the leg of Ryan, doing his best to injure the kid. Goth grabbed Ryan by the hair, pulled him to his feet and pushed him under the bottom rope into the ring. Goth slid into the ring and once again pulled Ryan to his feet. Goth punched McGuinness in the gut and as Ryan bent over in pain Goth DDT’d McGuinness. Ryan lay on the mat, gassed, and in pain. Goth climbed to the top rope and flew out over the body of Ryan. The fall seemed to take forever as he fell with a loud “BOOM” onto the solar-plex of McGuinness. Goth raised Ryan’s leg and the ref slid in for the count…1…2….3!
Winner by Pin fall: Goth
Goth exited the ring and made his way up the ramp. McGuinness climbed to his feet slowly with the aid of the ropes. He looked out over the audience and dropped his head in shame. He looked up towards the ramp and watched Goth exit through the corridor. Ryan shook his head and as he began to step through the ropes, the audience started chanting his name loudly. Ryan stopped, stood up, and looked around the arena. Hundreds, thousands of people, many holding McGuinness signs…people screaming his name at the top of their lungs. McGuinness tilted his head back and closed his eyes, slowly, completely; taking in everything the fans were giving him!
