The preshow intro pays and a camera shot of the Tokyo dome is shown then the camera cuts to inside the building where fans are making their way in. The count down clock appears in the corner of the screen, 29:49. Joey Styles voice is heard
Joey: We are just thirty minutes away from Battle Grounds 2007 and what an event this has shaped up to be. Three title matches tonight. An MMA match inside an octogon and we have what is called a, Tame the Beast match. A lot of Varity tonight. A lot of innovative stuff. This should be one hell of a night. Also tonight on this pre show, in about fifteen minutes or so, we will have a Battle Royal.
The camera cuts to Joey Style standing with Max Carter.
Joey: And Standing next to me is the General Manager of Monday Night Brawl and the man who put this event together, Max Carter. Max, first off, what are your feelings about tonight’s show.
Max: I’m excited. I look at this event as the event of opportunities. Sean Ferguson gets his first Undisputed title shot against BDC. Sean is the underrated underdog in this match. He’s earned the opportunity, but can he win the title. And then there’s James Chambers. Going up against a man who’s beaten Moses Lake and Jesse Nunez. Chambers again is the underdog, but he’s stepped up to the place in recent weeks and could very well walk out tonight the new Hardcore Champion. And then there’s Joey Orsome taking on Jesse Nunez. For the longest time, Orsome has wanted to take that next step into stardom, to go for the Undisputed title. But Orsome was missing something, and I think this match will bring out the best in Orsome. Nunez needs to win to stay in the title picture, and Orsome needs to win to get into the Undisputed Title picture. A lot if riding on this match. This could be the biggest match of the show, just because of the stakes.
Joey: One superstar in the Battle Royal questioned your motive for this match. No contender ship is involved, just a straight up Battle Royal.
Max: A lot of the guys in this match are new to EWC, and a match like this, it will quickly separate the boys from the men. It will show me just who’s serious about EWC. It will prove just who the opportunities. There’s more riding on this match that meets the eye. Remember when I said this show was about opportunities, well, this match is another one.
Joey: Thank you for your time Max, I know you’re a busy man.
Max: Thanks Joey.
Max walks away.
Joey: We are about 21 minutes away. When I come back, I’ll run down tonight card.
A video clip of the Sean Ferguson/BDC feud is shown for the next 2 minutes then the camera goes back on Joey.
Joey: BDC and Ferguson inside a hell in a cell. It doesn’t get any better than that. But now to run down the card. Our first match is the Battle Royal. A few people stand out. Franchise Killer has gotten his name noticed over the past two weeks. Matt Merricon has made a nice debut. Johnny Burns has turned some heads. John Green keeps getting better every week and Money Man coming from Rampage has something to prove.
Next is Link taking on Jay Cee. Jay Cee was main eventing Night of Champions last month, but since then he can’t seem to pick up a win. This match came about when in a fatal 4 way match, Link got pinned, costing Jay Cee not to win the match. Jay Cee got upset and wanted revenge on Link because of it. Link winning tonight may put in high up in the ranks, but Jay Cee needs to win this match. A lot at stake here.
Then we have two legends. A hall of famer taking on a possible future hall of famer. Hurricane Jeff Vs Ebon. Two guys who used to be friends, used to be in force but these two have history here in EWC. Hurricane Jeff got famous by pinning Ebon in a triple threat match at Stranglemania four to win the Undisputed title. Ebon is famous for his 36 tag title wins with partner Alexander Dreadnaught. A grudge match that will be a fight.
And we have for the first time ever in the history of wrestling that I know of, a Tame the Beast match for the hardcore title between Lance Fiennes and James Chambers. I have no idea what this match is, how its gonna turn out or why someone would want to be in a match like this. But I do know that these two guys will get hurt and this match will go down in history as either a hit or miss match.
Joey Orsome Verses Jesse Nunez. The match I think that will come down to the wire. A match that a lot of people are looking forward to. Orsome looking to take that next step in his career and Nunez looking for getting back in the title picture. Either way you look at it, this is gonna be one hell of a match.
For the first time ever on Brawl, a MMA match between Moses Lake and Nate Broadway, which will take place inside an octagon. Only five words can describe this match. It Ain’t gonna be pretty.
And finally the main event, Hell in a Cell, BDC Verses Sean “The Man” Ferguson. BDC has had Sean’s number but on the last edition of Brawl, Sean pinned the champ. Could that be a sign for tonight? We’ll see tonight. That’s the card folks. I’m excited for it. But that’s my time, time to hand it over to Skippy and Joe for the Battle Royal.
The camera cuts to ringside where the battle royal competitors are making their way to the ring. Hopper, John Green, Franchise Killer, Red Dragon, Lorenzo, Redface, and Money Man are in the ring already.
Skippy: Thanks Joey. We are almost ready for tonight Pre show Battle Royal.
Aiello: A win tonight by any of these guys could sky rocket their career in EWC.
Matt Merricon is next to come out and then Johnny Burns comes out last.
Skippy: Any picks Joe?
Aiello: I’d like to see Hopper Rose win myself.
Skippy: We’re about to find out.
Skippy: What a Battle Royal that was.
Aiello: This showed that Matt wanted it the most, but what an effort by Johnny Burns, he didn’t give up.
Skippy: Congrats to Matt on the victory but we’re out of time for this pre show. If you haven’t already, call your local cable or satellite provider and order Battle Grounds, your not gonna want to miss it.
