How come I end up where I started
How come I end up where I went wrong
Won't take my eyes off the ball again
You reel me out when and you cut the string...

Pyrotechnics flash throughout the Rexall Palace as "15 Step" by Radiohead blasts through the speakers. Then red fireworks descend down the ramp way and up into the rafters as the Edmonton crowd go ballistic with excitement. The camera pans to the announce table.
Skippy: Hello and welcome to yet another addition of Monday Night
Brawl. I’m Skippy.
Aiello: And I’m Aiello. Tonight is the very last show before Hardcore Revolution.
Skippy: We find out the winner of the Undisputed Tournament and The Rev and Gladiator go face to face in this huge Brawl show tonight.
Aiello: Also Joey Orsome makes his in-ring return facing off against the champ James Chambers.
Skippy: First up tonight though Thaddeus who picked up the win last week goes one on one with Devin Hester.
Aiello: We're just about to get to our opening match here, but before the action starts, my producers are telling me that EWC Hall of Famer and former World Champion, The Rev, has arrived. It's been a long time since The Rev was last seen here on Brawl. We have a cameraman stationed outside at this moment. Perhaps we can catch a quick word from The Rev as he enters the arena.
**It cuts to the parking lot outside the arena where The Rev is stepping out of his limo along with his publicist, Skippy Mohophosite #1.**
The Rev: You know what Skippy, it was right here on Monday Night Brawl back in 2001 when I had my last competitive match. I defeated my all time arch nemesis FBI on this show, and I can't think of a better way to come back than against that worthless leech Gladiator. This is gonna be one glorious night for........
Skippy: Rev look out!
**The blaring sound of a horn is heard seconds before a Hummer speeds into camera view. The Rev dives out of the way, narrowly missing a deadly collision with the Hummer. The vehicle comes to a creeching stop. Suddenly the driver side door opens. Gladiator steps out with a tire iron in hand.**
Aiello: Gladiator just tried to run over The Rev!
**Gladiator stands over Rev, who's struggling to get up off the ground. Gladiator takes the tire iron and begins to bash Rev's head in with it. He pounds on his former friend mercilessly. After a dozen blows to to the head and back, Rev manages to grab the tire iron away from Gladiator. Still curled up on the ground, Rev wacks Gladiator with the tire iron behind his right knee. Gladiator screams in pain and falls backwards. This gives Rev a chance to get back on his feet. Picking Gladiator up with one hand, Rev positions the tire iron in front of Gladiator's throat. He gets a firm grip with both hands and begins to choke out Gladiator with the tire iron. EWC security and some spectators outside are trying to break up the fight, but keeping a safe distance from Rev and Gladiator so as not to get hurt themselves.Gladiator's veins are bulging out of his forehead as he grunts and gasps for air. He pops his head back and headbutts Rev in the nose with the back of his head. Rev drops the tire iron and stumbles backwards against the Hummer. Gladiator limps over and picks Rev up over his head, pressing him high in the air before tossing him against the windshield, cause many cracks to splinter the glass. The cameras cut away and go back to the commentators inside the arena.**
Aiello: This is unbelievable, Rev and Gladiator aren't even scheduled to fight until later tonight, but it looks like they can't wait that long. I'm sure security will break it up before things get out of hand. Let's get to our first match.
DEVIN HESTER VS. THADDEUS KNIGHT O’BRIEN
Mean Gene: The following match is scheduled for one fall, and is to determine the number one contender to the EWC North American Championship!
“Stronger” by Kanye West hits the PA. Devin Hester walks out, stands on the ramp and raises his arms up to the crowd. He sprints to the ring and jumps on to the apron. Flames shoot out of the turnbuckles, and he flips in. He runs up to a turnbuckle to taunt.
Mean Gene: In the ring, from Chicago, Illinois, weighing in at 189 pounds, “The Windy Cuty Flyer” Devin Hester!
Flame starts to swarm the stage as “More Human Then Human” by Rob Zombie fills the arena sound system. Thaddeus Knight O’Brien walks onto the stage through the fire. The fire now fallows Thaddeus down the ramp.
Mean Gene: And his opponent, from Broken Bow, Nebraska, weighing in tonight at 262 pounds, Thaddeus Knight O’Brien, TKO!
Thaddeus jumps to the ring through the ropes. The flame is surrounding the outside of the ring. Thaddeus climbs one of the turnbuckles and lifts his hands in the air. The flame slowly dies down to nothing. He steps down off the turnbuckle and stares at Hester, who shows no signs of backing down.
Skippy: What a huge opportunity for these two newcomers to the EWC!
Aiello: A win tonight guarantees a North American title shot. You can bet they’re both going to put it all on the line.
The bell rings and the two men circle each other. Thaddeus moves to lock up, but Hester ducks underneath his arm and kicks him in the back. TKO is knocked forward into the ring ropes. He turns around and meets some more kicks to the gut. Devin bounces off the opposite ropes and comes running back to attempt a clothesline, but O’Brien catches him with a back body drop over the ropes. Hester lands on the apron, however, and when Thaddeus turns around Devin grabs his head, drops to the floor, and catches TKO’s throat on the top rope. O’Brien falls backwards, clutching his neck.
Skippy: A strong start by Hester, but not by the fairest of means.
Aiello: When your opponent outweighs you by almost eighty pounds, you’ve got to do whatever it takes to win.
Hester rolls back into the ring and covers.

O’Brien shoves Hester right off of him, showing his impressive strength. TKO gets to his knees. Devin attempts a shining wizard, but Thaddeus stops him in his tracks with a punch to the stomach. TKO grabs his opponent and gets to his feet with Hester on his shoulders. He lifts Devin up into a military press, then casually drops him with a gorilla front slam.
Skippy: What a show of strength by TKO!
Aiello: Devin’s back is probably killing him right now.
O’Brien picks Hester up. He whips Devin into the ropes, and on his return, nails him with a thunderous power slam! He covers.

Kick out by O’Brien.
Skippy: I can’t believe the referee didn’t see that blatant low blow!
Aiello: If he didn’t see it, it never happened, Skippy.
Hester quickly stands and starts stomping away on TKO’s head and back. O’Brien manages to get to his hands and knees. Devin steps back and attempts a running leg drop, but O’Brien leans back into a kneeling position and Hester finds nothing but the canvas. He climbs back to his feet while TKO takes a three point stance. Devin turns around and doesn’t know what hit him as O’Brien charges forward and nails him with an STO. He covers!

Kick out by Hester.
Aiello: Did you see that? That was a clear insult to Devin Hester’s football career!
Skippy: Yeah, I feel awful about it.
Thaddeus jumps to his feet and lets out a roar. He picks up Hester, but quickly plants him again with a sidewalk slam. Not bothering to cover his opponent, TKO picks him up again, stands behind him, and nails a huge full nelson slam! Devin Hester is feeling the pain, but Thaddeus isn’t finished yet. He picks Hester up and whips him into the ropes. It looks like he’s going for a spine buster, but Devin reverses into a tornado DDT!
Skippy: I may not like Devin Hester, but I’ve got to give him credit for being able to take the punishment he has in this match.
Aiello: He’s got a warrior spirit, not doubt about it.
TKO gets himself up into a sitting position, only to receive a dropkick to the face for his troubles. Hester doesn’t stop there, jumping into the air and landing a knee right across his opponent’s forehead. O’Brien tries to roll away to safety, but Hester gets him one more time with a baseball slide that shoves him under the bottom rope and to the floor. As TKO climbs back to his feet, Hester steps out onto the apron. “The Windy City Flyer” takes a running leap off the apron, attempting a cross body splash, but O’Brien catches him replies with an overhead belly to belly suplex on the floor! TKO rolls Hester back into the ring and covers!

Hester kicks out!
Skippy: How did he do that?
Aiello: He has his eyes on the prize, and nothing is going to stop him.
O’Brien picks Hester up and attempts to whip him into the far turnbuckle, but Devin reverses, following up with a jumping Shining Wizard before Thaddeus has a chance to reply. TKO slumps down against the turnbuckles. Devin jumps onto the second rope and comes down with a double foot stomp right onto TKO’s chest. Hester backs away, but only so he can hit a running dropkick straight to his opponent’s face! O’Brien rolls away from the turnbuckle. Hester stomps on his opponent’s head once more and then starts to climb the turnbuckles.
Skippy: Looks like Devin Hester is about to take flight!
Devin taunts the crowd then leaps backwards into the air into a high, graceful moonsault. But all Hester gets for his risk is a pair of knees straight to the stomach! Hester rolls away, clutching his torso, as O’Brien tries to get to his feet.
Slowly, both men climb to a vertical base. Hester tries to rush TKO with a clothesline, but O’Brien side steps and sends Devin into the turnbuckle. Hester stumbles out only for Thaddeus to grab him in a front facelock and lift him into the air, before drilling him with The Knockout! TKO covers!

WINNER AND NEW NORTH AMERICAN TITLE #1 CONTENDER: Thaddeus Knight O’Brien.
Aiello: God, what power!
Skippy: It’s only his second match, and already TKO has a North American title shot!
Brawl cuts to a short commercial.
