In 2008, the show was moved to Showtime HD, SciFi HD, SkySports and the new TSN2. Since its launch in 1997, Brawl continues to air on Monday nights. The fans cheer loudly as the show opens with Joe Aiello and Jeremy Piven sitting at the announcers booth waiting to get things started
Joe Aiello: Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to the Four-Hundred and Thirtieth edition of Monday Night Brawl. We are live here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the arena is rocking from end to end, waiting for the stacked card we have in store for you tonight.
Jeremy Piven: We have the debut of “The Canadian Controversy” Shawn Cage, Our Resident Zombie in Living Dead Karl, The Lovely Emma Louise, and of course the Black List will be in action tonight.
Aiello: It was a very special night indeed, Let’s not forget that we got Slade vs Shadow Man and of course our main event in Derek Wellings vs Tony Savage in a champion vs champion match.
Piven: We also will hopefully get the answer from former EWC GM Xplode over rather he will return to the ring or retire. And who knows what President Mac might have in store for us tonight.
Aiello: Well regardless of what Xplode does, the man is a living legend and has done a lot for not only our business but our company.
Piven I can’t wait to see what we have in store for Monday Night BRAWL, let’s get to the action.
Aiello: I agree, first up we have JTC making his quote unquote “Home Coming” versus the former twenty five time World Champion in Shawn Cage, the self-proclaimed Real World Champion of wrestling.. We will see what happens tonight, right after this quick message about EWC TV ... which really, everyone at home should have by now
BACKSTAGE
The camera cuts backstage to show Xavier Reid walking out of his locker room and being followed by the lovely Kat Vaughn, Ace Heart sees the pair and run straight at them, signaling the camera man to start rolling.-
Ace Heart: Excuse me, Xavier, I’m Ace Heart and I wanted to take a moment of your time…
Kat Vaughn: A moment…and only a moment…Xavier has better things to do than talk to the likes of you…
Xavier Reid: Easy Kat…this man is only doing his job…much like I did last week…
Ace Heart: Well we will start right there, this week you had some rather strong words for James Kash, showing no remorse for how things ended and some around here have to wonder, would you still have this bravado if James Kash was in fact here this week and not sitting back at home?
Xavier Reid: I realize I’m new to you and the EWC…but I’m not new to this business...I understand when a moment you are left with two options…watch as it passes you by…or step up and take moment…that’s just what I did last week…
Ace Heart: Against a man that was clearly hurt
Xavier Reid: Had the bell rung…had the referee stopped the match…was I instructed to go to my corner…
Ace Heart: No…
Xavier Reid: Then why would I stop the match because my opponent was down…
Ace Heart: Because it would have been the right thing to do…
Xavier Reid: How cute…the right thing to do was for me to go out there and get that win…to do anything and everything I can to get that win…James Kash was right there in front of me…waiting to be put down…so I did just that…I did what any man on this roster SHOULD have done…but now I get the stink eye from the boys in the back...I get the second looks from the guys in the suits walking around backstage…and I have to explain why I did this to the likes of you…
Ace Heart: Well we are here in the EWC are hoping for a speedy recovery for someone he had high hopes for…
Xavier Reid: And if he ever returns…and that’s a big IF…I’ll be here ready to finish him off once and for all…see this isn’t about making friends…I’m not here to be a good guy…one of the boys…I’m here to cement my name…to rewrite what the people of the EWC think as a star…
Ace Heart: Well tonight you get another chance to…um impress us…when you step into the ring with Living Dead Karl…
Xavier Reid: Another fine ‘superstar’ here in the EWC…
Ace Heart: He will be a test for you and after what had happened last week our first real glimpse of Xavier Reid.
Xavier Reid: See that’s the problem around here…you people have a nice little roster of good lads…not so bad guys…and you sit here and think of them as stars…you think that someone like Living Dead Karl is a threat to a man like me…that I will be tested…even an underdog against one of your guys…Kat here had to stand back here last week and listen to people…people that matter around here…wonder if I got lucky last week…if it had not been for that injury would Xavier Reid had gone down to James Kash…she stood here and held her tongue…at the ignorance running around back here…so tonight I walk out to that ring and you all will be standing around the TV watching to see if Xavier Reid can prove anything to you…if Xavier Reid belongs here…
Ace Heart: These are all valid questions Xavier…
Xavier Reid: And after I dispose of Living Dead Karl will I get the respect I deserve…will the parade of trash being booked against me stop…will I get a REAL star here in the EWC…
Ace Heart: Be careful what you ask for…you may just get it…
Xavier Reid: Oh Ace…I’m banking on it…
Kat giggles as she grabs Xavier by the hand and leads him away.
MATCH 1
SHAWN CAGE Vs JTC
"Violent Rhythm 2” By Linkin Park & Eminem plays throughout the arena, after the opening part of the song the arena fades into pitch black. As the music begins to pick up, the stage lights flash white in between the pitch blackness to match the beat of the guitar.
Shawn walks out from the back through a pyro like rain while the lights fade to a black light purplish red effect and huge amounts of red and silver pyro shoot out from the sides and top of the entrance way ramp following by two Canadian Flags eclipsing both sides of the entrance ramp as the music continued to play in the background over the sound system.
Shawn Cage has his attention focused on taking his time while walking down to the ring, slapping a few hands of fans at ringside and getting into the face of some of the fans who have choice words for him. He stops and looks around at the fans and gets a mixture of boos and cheers, he then makes his way to the ring. Once there he runs up the steel steps and onto the apron.
Jessica Stroup: Making their way to the ring first, hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, weighing in at 231 pounds...
He then grabs the top rope and flips over into the ring, stopping in the center of the ring as the fans boo and cheer, some throw random trash into the ring in an attempt to hit and others snap pictures of him as he taunts them with his last name is then spelled out in silver and red pyro behind him on a structure that was lowered from the rafters.
Jessica Stroup: “Sick and Twisted” Shawn Caaaaaage!
He then takes off his hoodie, earrings, lip and eyebrow ring and places it on the outside and then calls to a member of the ringside crew to come and grab his items, He then reaches into his pocket he pulls out a pair of padded MMA black gloves and begins to put them on and stretch out using the ring ropes, awaiting his opponent while slipping a mouth guard in-between his teeth.
Joe Aiello: Sick. Twisted. But calculated. THIS is Shawn Cage.
Jeremy Piven: Wow, he pay you to say that or are you sucking his dick for free?
Jessica Stroup: And the opponent...
“Phenomenal” by Eminem hits the pa system as smoke fills the stage.
Jessica Stroup: Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin...
JTC emerges from behind the curtain taunting the fans. They're indifferent.
Jessica Stroup: Weighing in at 238 pounds...
JTC slides into the ring.
Jessica Stroup: “The Bad Guy” Johnathan Thomas Cross!
Jeremy Piven: Seriously? “The Bad Guy”? I refuse to call him that.
Joe Aiello: And here we go! The ring bell hasn't even been hit, poor Ring Announcer still hasn't exited the ring, and Shawn Cage leaps at the opportunity to attack. JTC walks right into a crisp standing dropsault from Cage.
Shawn indeed gets the jump on his opponent, figuratively and literally, just before the bell sounds to start the match. Cage is to his feet first and connects with another standing dropsault that sends JTC into the corner. Shawn rises to his feet and is millimeters from connecting with a running European uppercut, but JTC slides out of the way. Cage's shoulder bounces off the top turnbuckle and he stumbles into several low kicks to the shins and knees from his opponent. Every time Cage tries to step forward, make a move, or otherwise grapple his opponent for the next minute or so is met with low kick after low kick after low kick. Shawn is becoming irritable and slightly sluggish. JTC goes for another sidestep into a kick to the midsection but Mr. Sick and Twisted catches The Bad Guy's leg. This sets him up to receive a swift kick to the back of the head.
Joe Aiello: Johnathan with the enziguri! He set cage up and whopped him hard in the back of the head. Cage is down!
Jeremy Piven: Don't count him out just yet. Shawn Cage is a gifted man and he'll find his spot. And that's when he'll strike.
Joe Aiello: What's this? JTC is administering a submission... the sleeper hold locked in to Shawn Cage.
Cross sits Cage up while taking a knee to lock in a stiff sleeper hold. Cage flails his arms about but Johnathan is very seriously screaming and gripping the face and neck regions of Mr. Sick and TWISTING the neck this way and that. This last a solid minute and a half long with Cage slowly but surely losing consciousness. The referee goes in to ask if Cage is going to submit and gets no response at all. The referee lifts the arm of Shawn Cage and drops it.

Still no response as Cross calls for the referee to quickly do it two more times. He grips and he grips and Cage looks like the lights are on but nobody is home. And by 'the lights are on' we mean 'the lights are actually off' and the malice in JTC's eyes shows through. The referee grabs the arm and lets it flop down once more.

Johnathan Cross is elated at this point. He seems completely convinced that he's about to be the first professional wrestler in at least thirty-some-odd years that's going to legitimately win a wrestling match after administering the sleeper hold. He actually thinks that. The referee lifts the arm and drops it again.
THE ARM COMES TO LIFE!
Joe Aiello: Here comes “The Violator”! The fans are kind of getting behind Shawn Cage here, but some are also behind Johnathan Thomas Cross so it's kind of hard to tell who they actually want to win this match.
Jeremy Piven: There has to actually be a wrestling match first, I imagine. Hurry up with this crap already.
Cage gets to one foot, connects with a back elbow to the gut of Cross, and both men run to the ropes with the submission still locked in. Cage looks to get himself out of it... but JTC drops to plants him on the back of his head with the sleeper hold still locked in! Cage gags. He simply can't take it anymore! He thumbs JTC in the eye out of pure frustration! Both men get up. Cage ducks a clothesline and turns right around right at the ropes. JTC does the same and is hurancanrana'd right over the top rope. Cage clutches the top rope and lands on the ring apron as Cross tumbles onto the padded outside only to roll into the guardrail. He bumbles around to get his footing, shaking and wobbling in the process, as Cage maps out his next move.

Asai Moonsault from the second rope... meets padding as Cross gets the hell out of dodge for the second time! The crowd is indifferent.
2
.
.
Joe Aiello: OH MY GOODNESS, PIVEN. JTC EVADES AGAIN!
Jeremy Piven: Cage went for the high-risk maneuver perhaps a little too soon there and it didn't quite pay off.
Joe Aiello: Both men are on the outside with neither having the advantage.

JTC slides into the ring, then back out to break the count much to the disdain of the referee. He grabs Cage by the back of the head and lifts him up enough to roll him into the ring. JTC follows. The crowd is indifferent. Johnathan stalks Cage.
Joe Aiello: It looks like – yes! – Johnathan is going for the Knock-Out Kick! Kick to the back of the knee... AND SUPERKICK TO THE – NO! – CAGE DUCKS THE SUPERKICK! CAGE DUCKS THE SUPERKICK!
Jeremy Piven: This is exactly what I was talking about. Lights out, Yawn-athan Taylor Thomas or whatever your name is. It's over. Get him, Cage! Get him!
Cage kicks JTC in the gut for the setup to his finisher, but Cross has him scouted and flees from the ring. Cage takes off after him and both men are running circles around the ring. Cross slides into the ring and connects with several kicks to the back, neck, and head of Cage, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the adrenaline-rage that is Cage's coming offense. Cage gets to his feet and blocks a right hand, kicks JTC in the gut, and plants him with a snap DDT. The crowd is really starting to get behind Cage. Sort of. Cage takes what he can get as he does his own stalking. Cross gets up. Another kick to the gut. Another snap DDT. Again he stalks his opponent. This time Cage grapples JTC and lifts him into a fisherman suplex.
Jeremy Piven: Oh, I've seen him do this before. He's going to keep it locked in and really drive 'em home. Textbook Shawn Cage. They don't call him “The Real Fucking Deal” for nothing. Bank on it. Bam! Second fisherman and he's still locked on the hold. Aaaaaaaaaaand ka-boom! Third fisherman. Now here's where he gets dangerous.
Joe Aiello: OH! Devastating fisherman's buster. This absolutely has to be it. Wait... Shawn Cage isn't pinning Cross?
Jeremy Piven: He's looking to make a statement, not that you know anything about that. Cross had him in that damn sleeper hold for an embarrassing amount of time. He's going to dominate Cross here. HERE WE GO!
Joe Aiello: CAGED EXPLOSION! CAGED EXPLOSION! THIS IS IT!

Jessica Stroup: Here's your winner... Shawn Cage!
Cage has his hand raised in victory.
Joe Aiello: What a victory by Shawn Cage.. his future is sure looking bright here in the EWC with an impressive win right here. I am looking forward to see who he takes on next. Lets head backstage for a moment to see what's going on
BACKSTAGE
The scene cuts backstage in a candle lit locker room. On a table lays a bowl of pasta, some wine, and a couple of lit candles. On one side of the table sits Kurt, all dressed to kill and looking sexy as ever. On the other side of the table sits his International Title, shining in all it's glory.
In a Lady And The Tramp style of scene, Kurt has one end of a spaghetti strand in his mouth while the International Title has the end of another spaghetti strand taped to it. Looking at the International Title in a sexy way, Kurt begins to suck on the spaghetti.
With every slurp, the spaghetti disappears and the strand gets even tighter. But the spaghetti strand doesn't get closer to the International Title, it gets closer to underneath the table. Kurt looks confused as he looks under the table and finds none other than Nirvana on the other side of the spaghetti strand. Bighting off the side of the spaghetti strand, he spits the rest of the spaghetti strand on Nirvana's face.
Kurt Newman: Damnit Nirvana!
With a smile on his face, Nirvana slurps up the spaghetti that's on his face.
Nirvana: Mmmmmm, tasty.
Nirvana grunts and lifts himself off of the floor. Wiping the sauce from his mask as he glances around and shrugs.
Nirvana: Red stuff on my mask.....reminds me of senior prom.
