Gabriel Cross: “Hey Wright you coming in today?”
-----
”Well hurry up then, we don’t have all day you know!”
-----
”Yeah I know, just try to get here as soon as possible as this case isn’t going to solve itself you know.”
-----
“Yeah, the Captain is here, he’s been pacing back in forth...”
-----
”I’m not asking him that, you know what he’ll sa-”
I said as the connection was lost, due to Wrights cheap phone dropping the call as usual, as I sat there at my desk looking over the murder case of our witness Ms. Jacqueline Stuart who was murdered in cold blood or so it seemed. Sure it was early morning and only a few days had passed since the horrific murder of my witness Jacqueline Stuart had been murdered, my partner and I were at a stand still not know who, where, or why our witness Ms. Stuart murdered.
Gabriel Cross: “We might not got much right now Ms. Stuart to help us, but we will eventually and justice shall be served for you, that I do promise you ma’am... That I promise y-”
I told myself as I continued to sit staring down at the one thing we did have to hopefully help myself and my partner sergeant Wright out in helping us get one step closer in solving Stuarts murder case, that one thing be the murder weapon that was left behind in the home of Ms. Stuart.
Yes we had the weapon that we thought murdered our star witness, however we had nothing to go off of other then that due to the perp having not left any physical evidence behind, no finger prints, no hair particles, noda damn thing. Which come to make us think the perp had worn gloves and a hat or something...
Gabriel Cross: “Fuc-”
Cpt. Alex Grey: “Really Cross?”
Gabriel Cross: “What Captain?”
Cpt. Alex Grey: “You’s know damn well what Cross!”
Gabriel Cross: “If not now Lieutenant then when?”
Gabriel Cross: “You’re right Captain...”
Cpt. Alex Grey: “Well we wouldn’t want your lil’ girl Cynthia thinking its alrigh’ for her to be growing up cussin’ now would we Gabriel?”
Captain Alex Grey said in his thick southern accent, an accent he’s had since I started with the department a year ago... Sad thing was he was right, I shouldn’t have been cussing like that specially seeing how I’ve been trying to cut back on my language due to my wife and daughter... Though mostly for my daughters well being.
Gabriel Cross: “Its jus-”
Cpt. Alex Grey: “Take a break from workin’ the case son an’ go get some fresh air, you’ve been at it for the past three hours an’ nothin’ that should tell yea somethin’ eh?”
Gabriel Cross: “You’re right Captain and getting all worked up isn’t going to help either...”
I said as I sat up from my chair at my desk and began walking towards the entrance doors of our department, when Corporal Charlotte King come walking in from the outside. As she walked inside she stopped me, as she did she quietly pulled me to the side.
Corp. Charlotte King: “Lieutenant Cross hope you’re doing better then the other night eh?”
Corporal King said as she whispered to me on what she had witnessed from me just a few nights ago. As she said that I quickly come back with a answer, hoping it’d come to satisfy her and she’d not report it to Captain Grey...
Gabriel Cross: “Yeah I am, I just think it was stress is all, I mean it could happen to any of us here at the department. Thanks for asking Corporal King, now if you would please excuse me. I’ve got to get some fresh air as this case Sergeant Wright and I have been working has me puzzled...”
Corp. Charlotte King: “Well sir if you’d like and if need some help let me know as I’ve got nothing going on right now and a fresh pair of eyes probably wouldn’t hurt eh?”
Gabriel Cross: “Thanks Corporal but I think Sergeant Wright and I can handle it for now... Though I will keep you in mind if we do decide to reach out for some help.”
As I said that my partner Sergeant Lawrence Wright could be seen pulling into the parking lot, as he could be seen pulling into the parking lot he could be seen stopping at the security gate and swiping his personal ID card that allowed him further into the facility into the back area where the staff and officials parked their personal vehicles that they used when not working here at the station. As Wright continued to go park, I pulled out a single cigarette from my cigarette case.
The cigarette could be seen being an off brand cigarette of a Marlboro red. As I put the cigarette to my lips I pulled out my New York Mets Zippo lighter and flung it open, as it flung open a flame could be seen being made, as it could be seen I began to light the end of my cigarette. My pursed lips gripped tightly to the trip of the cigarette.
Gabriel Cross: “Ah... Now this is what relaxing is all about...”
I said blowing smoke out through my nostrils as I slowly peeled the cigarette from my lips and began blowing the smoke slowly out, as I did the smoke swirled from out of my mouth.
Cpt. Alex Grey: “I thought you quiet Gabriel?”
Is what I could hear from behind me as the Captain walked on out from inside our department office.
Gabriel Cross: “I did, but then I started back up about a few months ago Captain... I guess old habits die hard eh?”
I said as I flicked the ash from the cigarette onto the ground before taking one last puff from it and tossing it to the ground also, as it hit the ground I smothered with the tip of my black military style boot and walked back inside our precinct. As the Captain and I walked on down the hallway alongside one another talking, Wright could be seen already at work, working on our murder case of Ms. Stuart.
Gabriel Cross: “About time Wright?”
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Yea... Yea... Took a little longer then expected Cross!”
Gabriel Cross: “I can tell...”
I said with a chuckle of laughter as Wright and I continued to work on our unsolved murder case of our former star witness, that had been murdered in cold blood only a few days ago...

Sleepy Hollow, New York, U.S.
[[Starbucks Coffee shop]]
[[Its early morning the next day and Lieutenant Gabriel Cross whom otherwise known among the wrestling scene when not working his normal paying job as a Lieutenant within the Sleepy Hollow Sheriffs department as “The Scarred Sentinel”. Cross can be seen coming out of a privately owned Starbucks coffee shop, carrying a paper bag with coffees and ham-ana-egg sandwiches. His partner Sergeant Lawrence Wright can be seen hurrying across the street from the court Records building, Wright can be seen having chestnut, shoulder-length hair almost fully covering a chiseled, tense face.
Wright could be seen having dancing gray eyes, set seductively within their sockets, watch energetically over the ancestors they've bled for for so long. A mustache charmingly compliments his cheeks and leaves an intriguing memory of his luck in battles as he continues straightening his tie as he goes to meet up with his partner Lieutenant Gabriel Cross.]]
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “We should have started at the other end of this shit pile Cross.”
[[Wright says as they head down the street toward the parked unmarked Ford Fusion.]]
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Four months ago, Gabriel, Ms. Stuart started a theft of Services case against a guy' named Jesus Sanchez. On behalf of--”
Gabriel Cross: “If I guess, do I get to drink my coffee before wa- visit Mr. Sanchez? ((grinning.)) On behalf of let me guess um... Ms. Carla Winchester
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Drink your coffee. We don't want to wake Mr. Sanchez up too early ... ((He Smirks a Grin.)) You know something? This is the part of the job I really like.”
Gabriel Cross: “Yeah me too Lawrence, me too!”
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Well lets get moving shall we Lieutenant?”
Gabriel Cross: “Yeah we better eh, though first I need to get me some nicotine in my system as we’ve got ourselves a long haul that’s for sure Wright!”
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Yeah you aren’t kidding there are you... ((He says in a joking manner.)) Three to four hour drive at most and that doesn’t even include traffic or your smoke breaks in between...”
Gabriel Cross: “Indeed it doesn’t...”
I said as took a single cigarette from my cigarette case and placed it between my lips, as I did I reached into my vest pocket of my uniform and pulled out my New York Mets Zippo lighter and lit my cigarette. As I did I took a few drags off of it and continued to puff on my cigarette as if it was going out of style.
Surely you’d have assumed I hadn’t had a cigarette in days, though that really wasn’t the case seeing how I had a one an hour ago or so... After a few more puffs off the cigarette I dropped it onto the ground and smothered it, putting it out as Wright and I climbed inside our unmarked squad car.
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Ready?”
Gabriel Cross: “Am I ever...”
I said in a sarcastic tone of voice, as I closed my door of our vehicle. Once my door was closed we were off to go wake Mr. Sanchez up and see what he had too say about Ms. Stuart and see if he could enlighten us with some new details on her murder or if he saw something that could possible be useful to us...

Sleepy Hollow, New York, U.S.
[[Mr. Sanchez’s townhouse]]
As Wright and I walk on up to the entrance door of Mr. Sanchez’s townhouse, we’re welcomed by his wife Alma Sanchez, Mrs. Sanchez welcomes us into their home.
Alma Sanchez: “Please come in gentlemen!”
Mrs. Sanchez said as we enter into the home of Mr. Sanchez, Mr. Sanchez's living room can be seen being of old money elegance. Faded rugs and old well-made furniture that shows generations of use. Sanchez’s wife, Alma Sanchez is a gorgeous Hispanic woman, who sits as erect as a marine.
Alma Sanchez: “May I ask what you’re here for Officers?”
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Um were investigating a murder and well we just had some questions for your husband. Is Mr. Sanchez available?”
Alma Sanchez: “No... No he isn’t at the moment, can I answer any of the questions for him?”
Wright nods, as I go forth and come out with one of the questions.
Gabriel Cross: “Mrs. Sanchez is it true you’re being sued by Winchester and Co.?”
Alma nods.
Alma Sanchez: “Yes, we· are being sued by Winchester and Co. But, gentlemen, they are not who they say or claim they are. They're-- ((stressing the word)) -- whores. Whores my husband used.
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “--nd charged to his Gold card I’m assuming?”
Alma Sanchez: “Yes, and I don't have to remind two law officials do I, that a contract entered into for an illegal act is void. Prostitution is illegal. Therefore, the credit card charge is void. In any case, I certainly do not intend to have this bill paid. Imagine! $1,000 for four hours services. Why, that's $250 an hour. ((She pauses.)) Almost as much as I'm paying my divorce lawyer...”
Gabriel Cross: “Divorce lawyer Mrs. Sanchez?”
Alma Sanchez: “Yes Officer, I caught Mr. Sanchez in the act with one of those whores after having come home early to surprise my husband!”
As Mrs. Sanchez said that Sergeant Wright began jotting down notes in his note pad, as we continued to question her about her husbands affairs and recent credit card charges.
Gabriel Cross: “So we called your credit card company the other day and well, it showed Mr. Sanchez had charged his credit card for about 265 dollars, and that he had bought a gun...”
Alma Sanchez: “With all do respect officer my husband maybe a whore himself, but I can guarantee you he’s no murderer like you’re implying, now if you would I’d like you to leave!”
As Mrs. Sanchez said that she escorted both officers out of her house. Once out of Mrs. Sanchez home, both Cross and Wright walked a little down the street back to where their uncover vehicle had been parked at, though before getting in, Cross pulled out his cigarette case and pulled out a single cigarette.
Cross put the cigarette to his lips and lit it with his New York Metz Zippo lighter. As the cigarette lit up, a bright orange cherry could be seen being formed at the top of it as he took a few puffs off of it.
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “You think she’s telling the truth Cross?”
Gabriel Cross: “I think she’s telling us some what of the truth, then again I think she don’t know much about her husband and his violent past...”
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Violent past?”
Gabriel Cross: “Yea Lawrence I did some background researching on him before we came out here and it showed he had served sometime in the past for assault on his former ex-wife...”
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “You mea-”
Gabriel Cross: “Yes Wright, I mean he’s been married more then once and well Mrs. Sanchez isn’t the first Misses if you get my drift. It wouldn’t surprise me if Mr. Sanchez had coached his wife on what to say to us just now...”
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Why you say that Gabe?”
Gabriel Cross: “Because Mrs. Sanchez has been peeking out her bay window watching us, and from the looks of it talking on the phone, and if I was to take a wild guess it’d be with Mr. Sanchez.”
I said as I took another drag off of my cigarette, as I did I tapped it just enough to make the ash that’s come to form at the tip of it fall off of it.
Sgt. Lawrence Wright: “Still can’t believe you smoke them things Gabe, I’d have thought you’d have given them up long ago after Cyn was born!”
Gabriel Cross: “Yeah me too, but I haven’t. Maybe one day though...”
I said as I tossed the cigarette on the ground and put it out with the bottom of my boot as Wright and I climbed on inside our undercover squad car for our three hour trip back to the sheriffs precinct back in Sleepy Hollow...
