~ Garrett Webb - A Broken World ~
From ashes to ashes, from dust to dust.
From ashes to ashes, from dust to dust.
You'll rise again, in this I'll trust.
You're in our hearts, 'till the end.
We will meet again, depart my friend.
You may be gone, but I know you're near.
In my heart, I hold you dear.
My only hope, in peace you'll rest.
I still miss you, I bet you guessed.
I'll see you soon, it's a must.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
I remember a world of peace.
Peace and love, a land where you could get anything in this world without pointing a gun at someone or large stacks of paper that resemble currency entices them. A world where vows at a wedding actually meant something. A place where I could live in harmony with man.
But sometimes, man just gets too greedy for his own good. Their egos become too inflated to see the truth, and it has turned this world into an inhospitable habitat. Nobody can can live easy without looking behind their back. Nobody can rest in their beds without a weapon under their bed. The sickening part about all this is that I have become a victim of man's mission of conquest.
I've never been able to live a safe life. Something or someone is always looking to take me out, whether temporary or permanent. I have become this paranoid human being, just like every drone in this society. I look at myself in the mirror, and all I see is a broken man. Ever since the explosion, I've been broken. But, the explosion gave me an important lesson.
Man is too greedy.
Man wants to get ahead in their lives as much as they can. Whether it be a new prototypical machine that is bound to destroy us all, or it is the fame of being a local 'superhero'. Simply put, there are no super heroes in real life. Everyone is either a leader, a follower, or an outcast. I've known forever that I'm an outcast. I never wanted to be a sheep of Man, nor did I want to lead a pack of sheep, spewing out false beliefs and fake hope to man when the inevitable is coming.
What is this inevitable? Nuclear Destruction.
Of course, you all believe that to be false, and everything on Earth has a solution. Global Warming, Artificial Intelligence, Man's own ego. They all add up sooner or later, and we will all eventually live a world without our most wanted desires. Ashes of fellow Man will lay on the ground, and nobody will care about it. The sense of comfort will be null and void, but nobody will care. The only thing they will care about is surviving.
But Man did not train itself to survive this.
Man believed that 'entertainment' and 'pleasure' is more important than survival. Why think about survival when some drone is telling jokes and making you laugh? They don't think there's a reason to learn survival, which is why the end is inevitable. They won't know what to do when their loved ones are burning right in front of their eyes. They're too worried about themselves to reach their hand out and save someone else's life. It's all about 'number one'.
I've tried to help people before, show them the true ways of this world. Reveal all the secrets Man has been hiding from everyone's eyes. I've learned that to be a dumb decision, however. You give someone a foot, they take a mile. You give life-long lessons, but they laugh at your face. That's why I walk alone, that is why there is no trust. Why trust Man when Man will take everything away from you? So, there's no need to help someone. Why not speed up the inevitable? We all know it's going to happen.
There is no hope.
Everyone will perish from the Nuclear Destruction.
