This is what happens when a certain someone tries to nap after work before writing his segments, and instead wakes up 5 hours later to find FNR posted. Sorry!
The scene goes backstage, and a cheer goes up as it opens on Friday Night Rampage’s interviewer, Brian Spade. He raises his microphone with a smile on his face, and nods to the camera.
Spade: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the EWC World Tag Team Champions, ‘The Rebel Child’ Georgie Nickles, ‘The S-Factor’ Scorpio – ReBelle!
The camera pans back and a bigger cheer goes up as we see the pair stood by Brian’s left. Scorpio is stood slightly more forward than his partner, his jaw clenched in focus and determination, his eyes covered in sunglasses – which he whips off, staring the camera down. Nickles smiles widely and nods to the camera, recognising the adoration of the fans.
Spade: Well later tonight Scorpio will be taking on one half of your defence opponents – which have recently changed! At the Rumble you’ll be defending those titles against Melody Malone and her new partner in Iggy Swango, America’s Most Hated. How are the champs feeling going into this one?
Nickles: We’re ready as ever. Malone may have lost her ‘king’, but she’s found an even tougher partner in Iggy. We’ll be putting in a few more hours in the training ring, we’ll be watching a few more hours for tapes, and we’ll be going out there ready to take down AMH in their entirety. After Night of Champions ReBelle is stronger than ever, and ready to go out there at the Rumble and prove ourselves the true leaders of the Tag Team Division. From day one we’ve said we’ll bring the honour and integrity brought by NSFW and destroyed by Shock & Awe – that mission continues taking down Melody and Iggy!
Spade: That’s great to hear, but there’s been some rumours out there about some divided goals amongst the champions… care to address those rumours?
Nickles takes a deep breath and smiles for the camera, before she looks up to Scorpio, who meets her gaze. The S-Factor gives a half-smile and turns his eyes back to Spade and then the camera, pouting his lips and placing one hand on his hip.
Scorpio: Darling, those bitches can run their mouths and make all the claims they want. The S-Factor is a hot commodity – no wonder the dirt sheets are making up rumours, trying to break me down, trying to break ReBelle apart. We’re on the up-and-up – we’re going to defeat America’s Most Hated at the Rumble, and then I’m going to go on as the number-one entrant for Rampage in the Rumble itself and I’m going to crush it. I don’t care if you’re Dominic Sanders, or Stitches, or Melody Malone, or El Pablo, or Killjoy Ito – I DON’T CARE WHO THE HELL YOU ARE I’M GOING TO THE RUMBLE TO THROW EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU OVER THAT TOP ROPE AND TAKE MY RIGHFUL PLACE AS THE NUMBER-ONE CONTENDER TO THE UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONSHIP!
There’s a look of fierce determination on Scorpio’s face as he stares into the camera, and either side of him Brian Spade and Georgie Nickles look a little taken aback at him shouting. Nickles goes to place a supportive hand on his shoulder, which he shrugs away somewhat abruptly…
Scorpio: You all doubted me. From the moment I got into this company, from the moment I began making waves, you all made excuses, you all found reasons for my success – easy opponents, lucky breaks, only wrestling on one show. Time after time I’ve proven you wrong, time and time again I’ve overcome the odds and got the win. At Night of Champions I came this close – THIS DAMN CLOSE…
He stares wide-eyed into the camera, gesturing with his thumb and forefinger barely touching.
Scorpio: … to claiming the Undisputed Championship. I made the world sit the hell up and pay attention, and at The Rumble I’m going to show you all what I can do. The 16th Rumble winner… the new number-one contender… you better believe that it’s going to be my night in Texas.
Nickles: … our night.
Scorpio: Right, our night.
A visibly stressed and broken Scorpio smiles to Nickles, correcting his mistake, before he turns to Spade and nods his head, muttering his thanks for the interview opportunity. Before either The Rebel Child or Spade can respond he turns and strolls off, leaving Nickles trying to keep face, while Brian narrows his eyes with concern.
Duggan: Well Brian gave ReBelle the chance to address rumours of a rift between them with Scorpio pursuing singles success, and I think in trying to put those rumours away Scorpio has possibly made the situation worse?
Martinez: I agree, since that Insanity Cage Scorpio has become more and more obsessed with Undisputed Championship success and taking on Cyrus Black, and it could well be fracturing ReBelle and the tag team division…

The scene opens to the area immediately behind the curtain as the fabric parts and Scorpio comes limping through, helped by Crème de la Crème. The S-Factor has just suffered a loss at the hands of America’s Most Hated’s Melody Malone, and the pain at having been pinned by his rival is written all over his face. Scorpio’s eyes widen as flicks his gaze between all of the staff members and fellow competitors in the backstage area, almost looking like he wishes to pick a fight with any of them, ready to prove himself worthy and able. Crème whispers a few calming words in his ear as she helps him along, and Scorpio sneers slightly, sighing deeply.
Duggan: The more I see of the S-Factor currently, the more worried I’m getting for him. He used to be a flash of colour and joy on Friday Nights, yet more and more he seems under a dark cloud.
Martinez: I think we can pin that cloud down to being the Insanity Cage, he’s been anguished by that loss from the moment he crashed through the burning tables. He sees the Rumble as his chance at redemption… I can’t even begin to wonder what’ll happen if he doesn’t win… and with Malone’s victory tonight, that’s got to be a serious possibility!
Scorpio and Crème round a corner, however as they do so there’s a commotion and a few of the other staff members part – just as Iggy Swango comes running with a steel chair in hand! Swango slams the chair across Scorpio’s back, knocking him to the floor, before she swings it at Crème’s head, flooring the drag queen/manager. Swango smirks as Melody Malone stands by her side, staring at The S-Factor’s dropped EWC World Tag Team Championship.
Duggan: Oh come on! Was pinning Scorpio not enough?!
The two women of America’s Most Hated nod to one another before Swango drives a boot down hard on the back of Scorpio’s head, before throwing the chair to the floor. They both haul The S-Factor up and position him just over the chair, each applying a front facelock…
Martinez: Oh no, it looks like they’re going for a double version of Malone’s Nightmare Fuel, with that steel chair lurking below!
Duggan: But wait! LOOK!
As Malone and Swango nod to each other for a second time, ready to drive Scorpio head-first into the chair and concrete, a shout sounds out catching their attention. Immediately Malone and Swango let go and back off a few steps as the camera pans around to show Georgie Nickles storming towards them, with Scorpio’s signature bejewelled hairdryer – Vidal – in her hands! The Rebel Child whips the hairdryer around on its cord, forcing AMH back a few more steps, before finally Swango and Malone sneer and high-tail it out of there! Nickles stares them down as they disappear around a corner, before she tends to her fallen partner…
Duggan: Whatever strains there are on ReBelle’s partnership, Nickles still has Scorpio’s back, and she came right in the nick of time. That could have been it for Scorpio’s Rumble hopes AND ReBelle’s chances of retaining!
