Cara McBride leaped from her couch as her front doorbell rang, it was 7 PM and nobody has visited them in a long time. She paused the Lion King DVD as she gave her five year son Perry a wink. Before he could open his mouth she was already half sprinting down the hall towards the front door.
Please, please, please, please......
She moved a strand of blonde hair away from her face as she pulled the curtain back from the side window of the door to see who was there, tears immediately filled up her eyes as she unlocked the door and jumped at Morden McBride, who dropped his canvas bag and embraced his wife. They kissed and she hauled him inside the house.
"Daddy?" Perry ran around the corner, his blond hair bouncing and his face bright and hopeful.
"Hey Slugface!" Morden held his arms out wide and dropped to a knee as his son ran then jumped into his arms.

45 minutes later of catching up with both Perry and Cora.
Perry was off to bed and Morden sat at the kitchen table eating leftover pork chops with Cora.
"So how is the military treating you? Still saving the world?" Cora smiled, figuring out her husband's Special Ops secret two years ago during a night of heavy drinking. His cover of U.S Department of Watercraft Engineering long blown to the wayside.
"Very good. We finally got wind of a certain Warlord's movements in Africa. Y'know, boring stuff. And Mexico, well...that was pretty uneventful." Morden took a bite of the warm porkchop then nodded.
If you count taking out the world's most notorious drug lord who owned half of Mexico uneventful. Probably the most evil son of a bitch who ever set foot on Mexican soil. Acres upon acres of land filled with bodies of people who he had no use for anymore. Struck fear in the heart of locals even at the mere mention of his name. Not quite as sick as Demon Kworn who's reign over South Africa has left nothing but cut up corpses, raped women and unimaginable acts. His army just as cruel and evil as him. He has to be stopped and soon.
"....then Perry recovered from that flu only to..." Cora watched him then tilted her head.
"What?"
"It's getting worse Morden, every single time you return from away. Your eyes get blanker and blanker. That thousand yard stare longer, like your mind is not even on this planet."
"Last one dear, I swear to god. We get this guy and take him out, it's over. I'll move on."
"Listen, you better O.K? You're just damaging yourself doing what you're doing. No normal man should have to go through that Morden, y'know what I'm saying." She reached over and put her hand on his cheek.
They both looked over and watched Perry walking in the kitchen, rubbing his eyes.
"What's the word, champ?" Morden smiled at him.
"Daddy? Can you do the song thing?" He smiled then looked to Cora for acceptance. She nodded and kissed Morden's cheek.
"Sure, last one there's a rotten egg!" Morden jumped up from the table and Perry squealed with joy, he ran then laughed when Morden chased him upstairs.
Perry jumped in the bed and pulled the covers up to his neck. Morden ran in the room and jumped on the bed, jabbing playfully at Perry's legs.
"Do it! Do the song daddy!"
"Alright poop, hold yer horses." Morden laughed softly and stared at his son for a moment.
"Baa, baa Black Sheep, have you any wool?"
Perry smiled wide.
"Yes sir, yes sir, six bags full!"
"Ha ha ha! It's not six daddy! It's three bags!"
"One for the cat, and one for the dog, one for the smelly fart who calls himself a frog..."
"Ha ha ha ha! The frog has smelly farts!"
One for African Warlord who will soon meet his match, one for the Special Op's who's itch they have to scratch, one for the innocent villagers who are getting sodomized, raped and cut into a thousand pieces, one for the six year old soldier of war who has to learn how to operate an AK-47 instead of playing with toys like a normal kid....
"One for the demon? Who's the demon?" Perry asked, not laughing now.
"Sorry, nobody son. Go to sleep now, I love you." Morden kissed his son on the forehead then shut off the light. He walked to the door then shut it half way, he looked back as his son turned to his side and pulled the covers tighter.
I promise kid, just one more mission.
