The show starts off with video footage detailing historic events over Monday Night BRAWL's history.
From episode 001 in 1997 all the way down to the last episode #577 in New York City.
Images of previous EWC Champions are shown, starting with the very first Champion Black Ninja, then moving onto Big Mac and Steve Bennett. Sped up footage then shows a special montage of Memphis Reigns, Shadow Man, Hirsh Valentine, Jesse Nunez, Hurricane Jeff, Moses Lake, James Chambers, BDC, Jay Cee, Stray, Gladiator, The Rev, Ruthann Hunter, Ashton Drake and then Xplode all with the EWC Championship.
From there we look at the dawning of the Undisputed Championship as we know it today, from Xplode defeating Shadow Man to unify the belts to footage of the men and women of BRAWL who have held the illustrious title including Ashton Drake, Candy, Dominic Sanders, Cyrus Black, and Xavier Reid, before ending on the current champion Killjoy Ito.
Sped up footage again then takes us through to current Monday Night BRAWL Superstars: Xavier Reid, King Flip, Candy, Tyler Bradford, KU, Antoni Malietoa, Stitches, Rebel Rhdoes, Darius, Iggy Swango, Dio, and others making their way onto the red brand.
We then get a shot of the Champions of BRAWL:
Tyler Bradford with the FX Broadcast Championship
Xavier Reid with the EWC International Championship
A wide aerial shot shows that Dodger Stadium earlier in the day, before fans begin packing in for Monday Night BRAW's Season 23 PremiereL!
A chant begins of

The camera feed pans to different areas in the ballpark and we see fans cheering in excitement!
The fans are shown smiling, laughing, and pumping their fists in excitement
as fireworks emit from each corner of the ring!

"TODAY IS GABI V-DAY"
and "DOWN WITH THE MACHINE, WHATEVER THAT MAY BE"
Aiello: Hello everyone and welcome to Monday Night BRAWL! We are here LIVE at Dodger Stadium, where Season 23 looks to kick off with a bang!
Bennett: That's right Joe, we have one HELL of a night ahead of us! A main event that sees Gabrielle Visconty take on Pence Weatherlight, as we see who can garner momentum in the International Championship considering Gabi earned a right at a future title shot between now and StrangleMania!
Aiello: Right, and I look forward to seeing what comes of that! Before that however, we have some big interbrand matches including a non-title bout between the Queen and our reigning International Champion, as Melody Malone takes on Xavier Reid! Along side that we have visitors from PARAMOUNT as the EWC Tag Team Champions come to the red brand to take on the Eleos Affect, and David Miller takes on King Flip in a Falls Count Anywhere Match!
Bennett: Add to that a hell of an opener between Darius and Ruby Clifton and you'll see why BRAWL looks to prove itself the flagship brand on the first night of the season!
Aiello: And to top it all off we have some HUGE matches in the works tonight! We will see Candy and Stitches collide once more, this time in what we're told is the WonderCrush Match! A lot of mystery has loomed over this bout since it was announced at WrestleFest, with only teases of what's to come given to us recently. Tonight we see what happens, and who will survive!
Bennett: It's gonna be ugly, it's gonna be brutal, and I'm gonna love it I'll bet!
Aiello: But that's not all folks, because we have a clash between lovers and former champions as Iggy Swango faces Dio, and speaking of titles, the FX Broadcast Championship WILL be on the line as Tyler Bradford defends against Rebel Rhodes!
Bennett: Gonna be one hell of a night for sure Joe, but look who's already waiting in the ring!
The camera cuts to the ring where ‘The Memphis Mouthpiece’ Tommy Love is standing. He’s wearing a smile on his face that stretches from ear to ear as the LA fans boo. The more they boo the more it seems Tommy enjoys it. He acts as if he can’t hear them, pointing to his ear and smiles. In one hand Tommy holds a microphone and in the other he holds a leather binder, which he holds up to the camera.
Love: Well it’s good seeing you guys again. You know people often ask me, ‘Tommy, why did you leave LA’ and I tell them it was two things, I wanted to put as many mile between me and my ex wife as humanly possible AND because of the idiots that live there and I’m glad to see that you idiots are proving that I made the right call…
The fans boo even louder as Tommy shakes his head at them
Love: I mean seriously, this is the way you treat me after everything I have done for you. If it wasn’t for me in the 90’s The Southern Express would have never come out west to LA to wrestle here…you loved them yet curse me…well it was good old Tommy that convinced them to come here…you cheer and embrace my daughter Bunny and if it wasn’t for me pumping my ‘Love Seed’ into her bitch of a mother she wouldn’t be here today for you to cheer…and then there’s Xavier Reid…I helped turn his career around and gave Brawl a Blue Chip talent on their roster. He is on the verge of becoming the GREATEST International Champion the EWC has ever seen and if it wasn’t for my tireless contract negotiations Jim Connors would be standing right here in my spot explaining to you ungrateful idiots that the International Championship was no vacant due to Xavier Reid and Brawl being unable to come to terms on a contact…because they let that contract expire…their TOP Champion, the man that was named Brawl Wrestler of the Year contract expired…something that should have cost Jimbo Connors his job but fear not…we have a signed deal!!!
Tommy waves around the binder and smiles
Love: Now I’ll pull back the curtain a bit and let you people in on a few secrets about this contract because even though we were in a place of power we didn’t get everything we wanted…I do not have full access to the ladies locker room which is a damn shame…you can still buy Skittles at the concession stand…The Love Family is not getting their own Reality TV Show on FX, which is a real shame because we would have made the world ask ‘Kardashian who’...
Tommy nods
Love: But what we did get were things that assure that Xavier Reid will be treated like the star he is…a nice big signing bonus for Xavier and myself, an increase in bonus pay for things like MVP’s, Matches of the Night…appearances on the Elite 15…things like the use of the Brawl private jet, upgraded at hotels to nothing but 5 Star rooms, limousines instead of Ubers to and from the airports and venues…an exclusive deal that makes Brawl the official home of The Xtreme Ravagers, with extra compensation to Xavier, Samantha and myself of course…and of course the kicker, something Xavier himself touched on at EWC Honors, the ‘Favored Nations Clause’ that states anytime Brawl gives another talent or hire something or more that Xavier isn’t getting…well he gets it as well, his value will remain at the top of Brawl for the duration of this contract no matter who Connors signs…Xavier Reid is THE BOB!!! The Best of Brawl whether you or Connors wants to admit it or not it’s FACT…so without further ado, I present to you, the EWC International Champion and Brawl’s Top Dog, XAVIER REID!!!
‘Papercuts’ by Lincoln Park plays out inside Dodger Stadium and the camera cuts to Xavier Reid walking down the tunnel and into the Dodgers dugout, he walks up the steps and onto the stage that’s been set up. He’s met with boos thanks to Tommy’s speech and mocking of the crowd but it doesn’t seem to bother him in the slightest. He holds up the International Championship as he heads to the ring and rolls under the bottom rope and meets his manager in the center of the ring. Tommy holds up the binder and flips to the last page as Xavier grabs the pen. He signs his name on the dotted line and Tommy snaps the binder shut as Xavier grabs the microphone from under Tommy’s arm
Reid: And with a stroke of that pen it’s official, I’M HERE TO STAY!!!
Tommy claps but it’s drowned out by the boos but Xavier just smiles
Reid: And let me say it was a smart move by Jim Connors but it’s not like he had any options right…time and time again last year he rolled out the ‘best’ he had here on Brawl to try and take this from me…
Xavier looks at the International Championship
Reid: First FX’s favorite pet project Bosa for a second time…hoping he was finally ready to take the lead and be the face of Brawl but I once again proved him not worthy and now Bosa’s off FX, he’s out making a living on the indies on Prime…but no hard feelings kid, I wish you nothing but success and hope one day you will be the champion so many around here thought you’d be…and then came Flip, hell Connors was even standing next to him when he announced that match, was willing to make Brawl about about King Flip just to take this off me but Flip failed…the King was slayed so he found a clown, Stitches was his great hope but as you all saw at WrestleFest Stitches wasn’t up to the task…so we enter this season with two new faces, two new challengers right, Gabi Visconty and Pence Weatherlight which makes me ask Jim, are we really at the bottom of the barrel…these are the best you have for me?
Xavier shrugs
Reid: It’s fine, I’ll show the EWC once again that neither of these two are in my league and keep racking up the championship defenses if I must, yeah I know, I don’t seem too excited about it but one thing I am excited about was something I negotiated into my contract…well something I asked for even before we sat down, Brawl #580 will be coming from MY HOMETOWN of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada…that’s right, Brawl and Xavier are coming home for the first time in a long time and...
“Am I Brave Enough?”
“Am I strong enough?”
The crowd explodes in cheers as Gabrielle Visconty’s theme music interrupts Xavier. The camera pans to the entrance as Gabi Vee strolls out onto the ramp. She stops and pulls a set of earplugs out of her ears, dropping them before pulling a mic out of her jacket pocket.
Visconty: Jeeeeesus! I think the oxygen level in here dropped by 50% with all of that rambling. How much self worth can one man have? Even through those earplugs in I could still hear the sound of agony and despair from the fans in here as they had to endure all of this…
Gabi gestures down to ring. She laughs after she waves and smiles at Tommy, who looks like he’s about to blow a gasket. She cocks a hip to the side as she looks out over the crowd. Gabi then turns her attention back to Xavier.
Visconty: Yeah… Xavier, you and Tommy can come out here and talk up all the shit you want. You know why? After Brawl 580 you will be titleless walking into StrangleMania! That’s right, good old Gabi Vee is cashing in her title challenge at Brawl 580, the Brawl right before StrangleMania!
Gabi grins down at Xavier as the fans pop at the mention of StrangleMania. She motions for the belt around her waist as the fans start the GABI VEE! Chant as Xavier laughs
Reid: So let me get this straight, you are cashing in your shot at this…
Xavier holds up the International Championship
Reid: In my hometown…I have to ask Gabi…
But Tommy jumps in
Love: Are you back on the sauce?
Visconty: Oh, you couldn’t get so lucky, Tommy. Nah, what better place to end your run. To end the misery you’ve been putting everyone through with your ‘I’m the top dog’ song and dance, Xavier. One question about all of this.
Gabi gestures at the two of them.
Visconty: Are you really trying to convince everyone here, or yourself? But, before you open your mouth again, just know… I’m back and I am coming for MY title.
Gabi turns and starts to walk to the back and then stops. She glances back over her shoulder at Xavier as a wicked grins spreads across her face. She slowly raises the mic back up.
Visconty: Oh, and guess who still hasn’t signed her Brawl 2022 contract? Always negotiate your contract last, ain’t that right, Tommy?
She winks at Tommy and laughs before tossing the mic over her shoulder and starts to exit but turns around to find Brawl’s GM Jim Connors. He smiles as he looks at Gabi and then Xavier.
Connors: Well let’s make things official right here, ladies and gentlemen, March 7th at Brawl #580 Gabrielle Visconty will challenge Xavier Reid for the EWC International Championship!!!
Jim Connors smiles as the fans inside Dodger Stadium cheer. Inside the ring Tommy is annoyed and kicks the bottom rope as Xavier smirks and looks at Gabi who smiles at him, motioning around her waist for the belt once again.
Aiello: Oh boy, what an announcement! Gabrielle Visconty is cashing in her title shot, and will be challenging BEFORE StrangleMania!
Bennett: You gotta wonder what that's gonna look like for the rest of the division as we head toward the first Pay-Per-View of 2022, Joe! What the hell's gonna happen there?
Aiello: I don't know Steve, but I do know that up next we have our opening contest of the night as Darius takes on Ruby Clifton in X-Division action!

AN X-CITING INTERBRAND BATTLE AWAITS!
[SINGLES MATCH, X-DIVISION RULES]
VS | ||
Darius | Ruby Clifton |
We return to ringside where the crew is making final preparations for the opening contest of the night!
Aiello: Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome back to Monday Night BRAWL! Next up we have our opener, as X-Division icon Darius takes on Ruby Clifton. Ruby has seen the gallons of blood Darius has spilled, and she's ready to prove tonight she can be a hardcore icon just as well!
Bennett: I think they are both crazy sons of bitches, gender notwithstanding, and are gonna die in that ring.
Aiello does a double take at this comment as we head to the ring, where Stroup is standing by!
Stroup: The following match is an Interbrand X-Division bout. Joining us first, from Albany, NY, weighing in at 265 pounds ... DARIUS!
"Burn It Down" blares throughout the arena as flames rise from the stage below. Darius rises from the flames and hypes himself up, throwing devil horns to the sky for a moment as fireworks go off in a spiral behind him. Elissa then emerges from the smoke behind Darius, holding his bat over her shoulder with a sadistic grin on her face. Darius then runs through the flames and slides into the ring, looking around the arena before jumping up to his feet. Elissa starts to walk around the ring, watching Darius as he tosses his sunglasses to the side of the ring, then throws his trench coat off to the side before leaping onto one of the turnbuckles, posing with devil horns once again as he waits for the match to begin.
Stroup: And his opponent, from Philadelphia, PA, weighing in at 122 pounds ... RUBY CLIFTON!
Light purple lights begin flicker through the arena as "I Don’t Care" by Ed Sheeran begins to blare over the speakers as Ruby Clifton steps out from behind the curtain with Black Velvet right beside her. The crowd isn't thrilled to see her as Ruby is grinning from ear to ear. She and Black Velvet walk down the ramp. Ruby slides into the ring and leans in one of the corners.
DING DING DING
Darius rushes at Ruby and smashes into her with a corner-clothesline. Darius grabs on a side-headlock and transitions into a running bulldog but Ruby shoves him off. Darius spins around and gets up to his feet but he eats a shining wizard right in the jaw. Darius rolls up to his feet grabbing at his jaw, Ruby kicks him in the knee to hobble him before jumping into a hurricanrana and turning Darius inside out. Ruby whistles out of the ring and Black Velvet tosses her her diamond-studded kendo stick. Ruby Clifton smashes the stick across Darius' back, and then against the back of his head. Ruby goes for another headshot but Darius rolls out of the way, out of the ring and to the floor. Ruby exits the ring to get him but Darius throws some thumbtacks in her face, where'd he get those?! Darius gets to his feet and ROLLING ELBOW INTO RUBY'S JAW!!! It's Raining Elbows!
Aiello: Darius may have just sealed the match with that move, if he can pin Ruby I think this is over.
Bennett: Son of a bitch, I didn't even see that elbow coming!
Darius rolls Ruby into the ring and goes for the cover.

T... KICKOUT BY RUBY CLIFTON!
Darius drags Ruby up by her hair and jams a thumb in her eye followed by a kick to the guy to drop her back to her knees. Darius pulls Ruby by her hair into his knee, smashing her nose and causing it to gush blood as we see Jason Rayne coming to ringside, notepad at the ready. Darius repeats the move two more times! Darius goes for a 4th but Ruby lunges into an uppercut to his groin! Darius falls backwards against the ropes, Ruby forces herself up and into a Velvet Ropes lariat that sends her and Darius out of the ring crashing to the padded concrete!!!
Aiello: OH MY GOD!
Bennett: SON OF A BITCH! SHE KILLED HIM, HE IS DEAD AND SHE KILLED HIM!
Black Velvet helps Ruby up and gives her the kendo stick, Ruby smashes it against jaw's face and soon he's a crimson mask of blood as Rayne jots some notes down in his pad. Ruby gets Black Velvet to help her get Darius into the ring. Ruby goes for the cover.

THRE... KICKOUT BY DARIUS!
Ruby punches the canvas, she cannot believe that wasn't it. Ruby yells for a chair and BV throws on in. Ruby places the chair under Darius' face and then calls for another. She's looking for a one-man con-chair-to! Ruby brings the second chair down but Darius forces himself up to his knees. Ruby smashes the chair into the other and drops her chair as recoil flies through her arms like burning white fire. Ruby turns in pure horror as the crimson faced Darius laughs and lunges into her with a short distance Hunter's Mark spear! Darius drags Ruby up by her hair and rips her directly into Grey Matter DDT. Darius covers.

Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall DARIUS!
Black Velvet gets into the ring right at the three count and shoves Darius off, but she wasn't quick enough. A ringside doctor hands Darius a towel, Darius wipes his bloody face and throws the now-stained towel at Rayne, who chastises Darius as he walks to the back.
Aiello: Quite the way to kick off now just Monday Night BRAWL, but the EWC season as a whole with Darius getting the first win of the new year. Ruby fought hard, but in the end Darius put her down with a Hunter's Mark and Grey Matter.
Bennett: Not many kick out of one of those, let alone two. Ruby gave it her best go and for now, the son of a bitch Darius was just better.
Aiello: And with Jason Rayne out here a night after earning his BRAWL contract, you can already tell there's some bad blood between him and Darius. Folks, up next we have a lover's quarrel as Dio takes on Iggy Swango!
We're left with a frustrated Rayne at ringside as we cut to commercial break ...
WELCOME TO BRAWL - A LOVERS' QUARREL!
[SINGLES MATCH]
VS | ||
Dio | Iggy Swango |
We return to ringside where Josh Daniels is checking all four corners to make sure they are still attached to the post.
Aiello: I am looking forward to this next match Steve. We have Iggy Swango returning to BRAWL after a long-tenured stint on RAMPAGE, and former Indy Champion Dio makes his debut on the red brand!
Bennett: I'm excited as all hell, Joe. I just hope the violence is ramped up, these two lovebirds better not let up!
Stroup: The following match is scheduled for one fall. Joining us first, from The Pleasure Palace, weighing in at 156 pounds ... IGGY SWANGO!
The guitar strums of "Moonage Daydream" echo through the arena as the lights dim low. Strobe lights begin to flash on stage. Soon, Iggy Swango walks from behind the curtain as smog engulfs her. She pauses, adjusts her sun glasses, before making her way down the ramp
Its a slow deliberate walk, as she is clearly vibing to the music. After entering the ring, She looks up to the ceiling, and throws her hands up in a classic rock and roll pose
Iggy starts bouncing on the stage and rocking out with an air bass playing along with the music before making her way down the ramp. Iggy rolls under the bottom rope and pops up on her knees in the middle of the ring. She slowly stands her to her feet before raising her hands into the air once more.
Stroup: And her opponent, from Seattle, WA, weighing in at 205 pounds ... DIO!
The lights dim down, and a voice comes over the PA system.
”I am your Crux.”
The phrase kicks off the sounds of “Change (in the House of Flies)” by the Deftones as Dio emerges from the curtain and stands atop the stage. He surveys the crowd, tugging at the collar of his leather jacket before heading down toward the ring.
DING DING DING
Dio and Swango walk to the center of the ring and fist bumps each other. They move away and begin to circle one another. After the fifth rotation, Swango and Dio meet back in the center with a tie up. Dio quickly gains the upper hand by using his slight height advantage. He places his arm around her neck and proceeds to drop her down with a side headlock take down.
The advantage doesn't last long as Swango hooks her legs around his neck causing him to break the hold. Dio tries to free himself but Swango squeezes her thighs while smiling at him. She eventually lets go as both combatants stand back up to their feet.
Aiello: A good solid start to this match, you can see they know each other quite well!
Bennett: Matches like this are all about who can take advantage of a single slip Joe, it's just a matter of time!
Dio and Swango tie up again but Dio catches her in the midsection with a hard knee. He follows it up with a couple right hands then caps off the sequence with a step up enziguiri. Swango falls to the canvas as Dio goes running towards the ropes. As he rebounds, she drops down in front of him causing him to leap over her. He bounces off the other set of ropes but gets caught with a vicious clothesline from Swango. Dio is nearly head over heels as Swango quickly picks him up off the canvas.
She shoots him off toward the corner and follows him in with a corner clothesline. Dio comes walking forward as Swango comes running at him and connects with a dropkick sending him back into the turnbuckles. Dio drops to a seated position as Swango smacks her thighs repeatedly. She stands in the opposite corner, points her fingers at Dio and comes charging at him. She leaps in the air while connecting with double knees in the corner as Dio's head snaps back.
Swango goes back to corner looking do it one more time. Swango points toward Dio again, who is slumped in the corner. She comes sprinting towards him only to get met with a sling blade maneuver by Dio. The back of her head slams hard on the canvas as Dio goes for a quick pinfall.

Swango just manages to roll her shoulder up as Dio nods his head. He stands back up to his feet before bending down to pick her up. As he does so, she catches him in a small package.

Dio kicks out quickly as he gets back up.
Aiello: Both competitors very nearly getting a one-up on the other there, and we're practically back at square one!
Bennett: Like I said Joe, one slip is gonna cost someone big tonight!
Dio pulls Swango back up to her feet, goes to shoot her off but pulls her back towards him while connecting with a nice belly to belly suplex. Dio pops back up while moving towards the corner. He motions for Swango to stand up while not showing any kind of emotion. Swango slowly gets to her feet. She groggily turns toward Dio who sprints toward her.
Dio goes for the Laertius Effect but Swango ducks at the last second. Dio stumbles forward slightly before turning back towards Swango. Swango grabs Dio around the crotch while hooking her arm around his neck. She lifts him up before dropping face first with Noise Pollution! Swango doesn't waste any time after that cradle DDT as she rolls Dio over and hooks the leg closest to the ropes.

Daniels calls for the bell as Swango is sitting on her knees while looking down at Dio.
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall... IGGY SWANGO!
After Iggy's name is announced, she helps Dio up off the canvas. She goes to raise his hand but Dio turns the tables on her by raising her arm into the air instead.
Aiello: Dio put up a good fight but just wasn't enough to put Iggy Swango away.
Bennett: Dio impressed me even though he came out on the losing end. Iggy showed us why Rampage should have treated her better.
Aiello: What a match we had tonight, folks! Great job by both competitors with Iggy Swango just getting the leg up! Folks, in just a moment we will see King Flip take on David Miller in a Falls Count Anywhere match, but it seems we have a visitor to the red brand!
With that, we cut away from the ringside celebration to see who's backstage ...
The crowd just finished watching a great match on Brawl when we cut backstage, where we notice Amber Lisa Hall wearing a pair of blue jeans with a Prime Shirt with a jean jacket. Her hair in two pigtails walking around as she stops in front of the door of the one and only General Manager of BRAWL Jim Connors. Amber takes in a deep breath knocking on the door gently with a soft smile.
Connors: Come in...
Amber walks inside of the office as Jim smiles, which immediately drops upon seeing Amber wearing her Prime shirt with pride. Jim sits back down at his desk looking over at her.
Connors: If you are not here because you are thinking of leaving Prime, then I believe you should turn back around and leave my office.
Amber looks around the office with a bit of a smirk as she grins over at him.
Hall: Look, I didn’t come here to start any fire with you. You never know down the line you just might become my boss. So, I know I need to be a bit more careful but I couldn’t help myself to bring myself over to Brawl right here in
Amber pauses briefly, allowing the crowd to join her.
Hall/Crowd: Los Angeles, California...
Jim rolls his eyes as he didn’t look happy at all while Amber just grins like a little girl at a candy store. She smiles again up at him but with a very serious face as she speaks.
Hall: You just had a great match between Dio and Iggy, the Romeo and Juliet of this company letting everyone see no matter what love and wrestling can mix so well together. You see, Mr. Connors, I have a message for your boy Jason Rayne. Jason Rayne believes he is this tough wrestler that will just steamroll over me at Paramount.
She points to the PRIME logo on her shirt.
Hall: I am from Prime. A show that has been the underdog every time we face any of your guys in the ring. It doesn’t matter whose card we are on because we are only, in the words of some, Indy Stars and you all look down at us. You see we have just as much talent as any of the other ones on the roster. We are tired and we are hungry and we are ready to be heard and let our voices roar.
The crowd cheers Amber's enthusiasm as she continues.
Hall: Just like how Iggy and Dio did just now in that ring against each other. They let everyone know they are just as good as anyone else around here. As a proud PRIME member, I am here to tell you and your boy who just won his contract over on Gambit earlier tonight. He... will … Fall... and don’t underestimate and believe I am just like El Gran Azul. PRIME will rise! PRIME will win! We will be blowing the first spark in this brand war!
Connors looks a bit upset, glaring at her a bit with a smirk.
Connors: Well Miss Hall, I feel that will be a bad mistake because BRAWL won’t back down!
Amber just smirks as she fixes his tie, licking her lips.
Hall: I don’t either, sir. I don't either.
Amber Hall starts to walk out as Jim Connor doesn’t look happy at all as she closes the door behind her as the camera zoom upon his face as we cut to commercial break.
The cameras pan backstage down a hallway. From a doorway leading to the parking lot comes David Miller with a duffel bag. The crowd explodes in jubilation to see the hometown hero. He walks with determination down the hallway and takes a left into a locker room.
Aiello: David Miller is here, ladies and gentlemen! We're mere moments away from what is sure to be a hell of a fight, Falls Count Anywhere, featuring this man against our very own King Flip. But wait a minute... what's going on here?
Miller comes to a full stop in the doorway and drops his bag. A look of heated aggression is on his face as the camera slides over to show a smiling Chanel sitting in the room on the bench. Before he can even speak, someone comes up from behind and shoves him face first into the lockers. A smaller pop erupts from the crowd as they realize it's King Flip.
Bennett: Well damn, I didn't think he had it in 'em. King Flip attacking from behind before the bell even rings.
Aiello: Didn't have it in him? What, to CHEAT? King Flip is a loose cannon and a damn animal. Of course he had it in him. And the crowd is cheering! Keep it for between the bells, guys. Come on.
Bennett: I couldn't disagree with you more, Aiello. I could watch these guys beat the piss out of each other all night.
Flip and his manager are now nailing David down with kicks to the body. Miller shoves the manager over the bench and takes a few more kicks from the King. David pushes through and the two begin exchanging right hands. They make it back out to the hallway hammering into each other's heads.
Bennett: Now we're really gettin' started here.
Aiello: Can we get somebody back there to stop this!? They're gonna be beat the hell out of each other before we can even make it official. Get security back there!
Chanel comes up from behind and nails David with a low blow. The King and his manager then proceed to drive Miller face first into a nearby soda machine. Flip wipes his hands as the two begin walking away.
King Flip: Welcome to Brawl, little bitch. See you out there.
The two walk out of the camera's view as Miller is beginning to pick himself up. He's clutching his genitals as he gets to his feet. The viewfinder fades on his furious eyes as he seethes through clenched teeth as we cut back to ringside.
GOING THE DISTANCE IN DODGER STADIUM!
[SINGLES MATCH, FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE]
VS | ||
King Flip | David Miller |
We return to ringside where commentary is standing by, in shock after what just took place!
Aiello: Oh boy, I have a feeling that attack could come back to haunt King Flip tonight!
Bennett: Both guys are looking to make a statement to kick off Season 23, and with Miller looking to rebound after losing the North American Championship at WrestleFest you know damn well he's not gonna let that slide!
K I N G F L I P zooms from right to left across the X-Tron and is followed swiftly by a small pyro. 'Machinegun' begins to play as the man in the hooded vest, head low, emerges from the curtain with a trash can full of weapons. He gets to the edge of the rampway when he lifts his hood to reveal that arrogant half smile.
Stroup: Making his way to the ring, hailing from the land of money and fame, weighing in at 220 pounds... KIIIING FLIIIP!
The lyrics chime in as he walks slowly down the ramp with his eyes locked in on the ring. The crowd, which was already beginning to cheer for the King, begins to explode in jubilation as a very angry David Miller walks through the curtain wielding a steel chair. CRACK! He nails Flip in the back sending him rolling into the ring. Miller tosses the chair aside and grabs his opponent. He rolls the ol' CHK into the ring. David quickly grabs his chair and slides into the ring.
Aiello: David Miller not waiting for an entrance theme here, he just wants to beat the hell out of King Flip for that backstage attack we saw earlier on. Falls count anywhere... starting now!
DING DING DING
Flip kept rolling when he was thrust into the ring and gets himself all the way outside on the other side of the ring. David smacks the chair on the canvas and begins to yell at his opponent. The King smiles as he shakes the cobwebs loose and walks around the ring. Miller challenges him again to enter the ring, but Flip just hand waves him away and continues toward the entryway to collect his trash can of weapons. The King yeets the can into ring at Miller who pushes it away as it comes toward him.
The toughest bastard in the business is getting angrier and angrier as Flip continues to toy with the man. He acts like he's going to enter the ring a couple times, pulling back each time as Miller swings the chair as hard as he can at the canvas. After the fourth attempt, Miller pulls his swing and instead opts to just throw the chair right into Flip's smiling face.
An 'oooh' echoes throughout the arena as Flip stumbles back onto one knee on the steel ramp outside the ring. David slides out of the ring and goes for the King. Flip has other plans, however, and he just hightails it up the ramp and through the curtain. Miller throws up his hands before making chase after the Benchmark of Brawl.
Aiello: Things have really broken down here, Steve!
Bennett: Both these men are at each other's throats, Joe!
The X-Tron fires up as both opponents end up beyond the curtain. Miller is in the gorilla position shoving people away trying to see if Flip is hiding underneath them. FWOOOSH! He turns around and Flip sprays Miller with a fire extinguisher. He follows up by bashing the extinguisher into his opponent's dome before tossing it aside and going for a mahistrol cradle pinning maneuver.
1 . .
2 . .
Miller kicks out with authority. Both men are on their feet simultaneously and exchange right hands as they make their way past some catering tables. Flip takes a huge right hand and stumbles backward into some snacks. His opponent come forward and WHAM! The crowd cheers as the King nails Miller in the head with a bag of popcorn that bursts on impact and sends little pieces of the salty treat all over the place. David has to wipe his eyes for a second and stands up just to have a bottle of water squeezed right into his eyes. Flip throws the bottle at him and grabs a platter of lunch meat sandwiches.
King Flip: Table for Miller, party of one! MILLER!
Flip BENDS the platter over David's face and connects with a drop toe hold sending him face first into a turkey sandwich.
King Flip: NO EATING ON THE JOB, MILLER!
Aiello: Oh lord, it's only getting worse!
Bennett: The violence and the jokes, Joe!
Flip is walking off as Miller wipes his face and gets to his feet. For the second time in the match, he seems to be making chase toward the ol' CHK. We see the King enter a room and hear some shouting. Miller catches up and evades a staffer being shoved at him. David launches himself into the room, which becomes very apparent to be one Jim Connor's office, and the two fighters are once again exchanging right hands in the middle of the room.
Connors: What the butt, guys!? My office isn't for wrestling. Please take this outside.
They ignore the general manager as the brawl begins to spill right into his desk.
Connors: Stay off the desk!
They do not stay off the desk. Flip slams David's face right into it, which only proves to make the man angrier. Miller slams Flip's head into the desk and the King almost instantly crumbles. Miller climbs onto the desk and pulls his opponent onto it with him. The desk shakes a little at the weight of these men. Flip connects out of nowhere with a headbutt and the crowd fires up as he steals his opponent's finisher. THE HARD GOODBYE ON MILLER!
The King hits the backdrop driver, sending both men crashing down as two legs on the desk completely give way. Flip barely gets up after a moment and uses his remaining strength to power lift the heavy wooden desk to drop it on the chest of Miller. This is technically a pinning predicament as he places a foot on the same chest.
1 . .
2 . .
3!!
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall... KING FLIP!
Medical personnel rush into the room to check on Miller who appears to be grabbing for his shoulder and wincing in pain. Flip pats Connors on the shoulder on the way out, shooting him finger guns as the general manager appears agitated as all get out.
King Flip: Give me a better opponent next week, Connors. Don't let me down.
Aiello: King Flip with a message here tonight, at the expense of David Miller.
Bennett: David unleashed hell here but Flip was ready for it, and now he's seeing red!
Aiello: Folks, when we come back we will have tag team non-title action as The Southern Express take on the Eleos Affect!
Miller is taken away, leaving us with a confused and concerned Connors as we cut to commercial break...
The camera cuts inside Dodger Stadium and inside the Dodgers locker room where we find the EWC Tag Team Champions Bobby Rose and Jimmy Lane of The Southern Express alongside their award winning manager Bunny Love but they are not alone. The camera pulls back to show LA Dodgers manager Dave Roberts standing with 2021 All Star Mookie Betts and Walker Buehler
Roberts: Bunny, I wanted to congratulate you, from one manager to another on an outstanding year and being named EWC’s 2021 Manager of the Year…people think it’s easy to manage All Stars or in your case future Hall of Famers but the pressure is on us…if they fail the media never blames the player or the wrestler…it’s the manager’s fault…
Bunny nods as she looks at Bobby and Jimmy
Love: Right…I mean when these two dipshits hire hookers and tear apart their hotel rooms the hotel doesn’t call them and hold them accountable…they call me and bitch me out…threaten to sue me…or call the cops or in the one case animal control because they were convince you had a wild pig in there…
She looks right at Jimmy who smiles
Lane: She greased herself up and wanted me to chase her around the room on all fours…listen I don’t judge you about all the weird shit you’re into…
Dave Roberts looks a bit uncomfortable as he looks at his two All Stars
Betts: Listen guys, we know how hard it is to be the favorites…even when you win you’re supposed to, right…
Buehler: They ignore all the pressure on you to go out there night after night and perform…
Jimmy looks away from Bunny and at the two All Stars
Lane: We never have an issue with performing and if…IF we are, we have these little blue pills…
Bobby elbow his tag team partner in the side shutting him up and jumps in
Rose: What my teammate is saying is you’re right, every time we step into that ring we are expected to win and they only make a big deal out of it when we don’t…and for us that was only ONCE last season…
Lane: Well twice when you count the tie to the Hemorrhoids…
Rose: We would be fools to try and chase down what we did in 2021…it was such a special year and we didn’t come back to chase perfection…but…
Lane: You can’t win them all if you don’t win the first one right…
Bobby and Jimmy high five as the Dodgers motion for a staff member to come over
Roberts: Well, we know you are hanging it up at the end of the year and we as the Dodgers organization wanted to present to you these official Los Angeles Dodgers jerseys…
The staff member pulls out three jerseys and flips them around as he hands them to The Southern Express, the backs read: Rose, Lane and Love
Betts: Tonight we are making you three Honorary Dodgers…
Buehler: To go along with tonight being The Southern Express Day here in Los Angeles…
Roberts: So, tonight YOU are the home team here in Dodger Stadium…
The three Dodgers extend their hands and shake the hands of The Southern Express as Bobby smirks
Rose: You hear that, we are the home team…Dodger Stadium is ours so I guess we don’t have to pay respect to Antoni and KU…
Lane: Or kiss the ring like we are meeting the Godfathers…
Love: We get it, Brawl is ‘your house’ but we are the EWC Tag Team Champions boys…making us the tag team champions of ALL FOUR BRANDS, which includes Brawl…
Rose: We understand, we sort of suck the air out of any room we enter, when we walk in all eyes go on us and it can make people feel a little ignored…it can make them angry because you guys have been here on Brawl all last year and we walk in and it’s like Eleos who…
Lane: You wanted to find the cracks in our armor but Antoni when The Faithful Heroes beat us Jordan Sharpe wasn’t a current or former Undisputed Champion…he didn’t win that until the following Prime so that theory goes out the window…
Jimmy shakes his head and laughs
Rose: I know you wanted to find those flaws but you can’t invent them man…
Lane: And I know you two see yourselves as The Love Club’s Kryptonite but you ignore one thing…
Rose: You beat Xavier and Samantha in singles…we beat them in tag team action…we also beat Jamie Love and Lorenzo and Jason Hunter when he teamed with Emma…and the last time I checked this was a tag team match and not a singles match…
Lane: I mean we also beat Ace King. Stitches and Wes Walker who all have wins over the two of you but you didn’t bring them up for some reason…why, doesn’t it count the same way…
Rose: You guys don’t care about these tag team belts, ok, great…well we do…
Lane: And these belts represent that we are the BEST tag team in the EWC…so we will do whatever it takes to beat each and every team that stands across from us…
Rose: We get this is more than likely a one off…and we can’t stomach the idea of having a losing record to a team here in the EWC…
Lane: We get it, you want to defend your house but…
Bobby and Jimmy looks around as they put on their Dodgers jerseys
Rose: As you just heard…this is our house tonight…we are the Dodgers and you guys…
Lane: You are the first names on our Farewell Tour…Let the party begin…
Bobby and Jimmy high five as the camera fade out before we go to ringside!
TAG TEAM WARFARE! WILL THE CHAMPS STAY UNAFFECTED?
[TAG TEAM MATCH, NON-TITLE]
VS | ||
The Eleos Affect | The Southern Express |
We return to ringside where commentary is standing by!
Aiello: What a wild night it's been, folks! After that grueling Falls Count Anywhere match between King Flip and David Miller, we now move to tag team action as The Eleos Affect look to topple the champions in non-title action!
Bennett: Gonna be a barn burner of a match, Joe!
Stroup: The following non-title tag team match is scheduled for one fall! Joining us first, at a combined weight of 484 pounds, the team of Antoni Malietoa and KU ... THE ELEOS AFFECT!
“Warrior” by Atreyu begins to blare throughout Dodger Stadium as Antoni Malietoa walks out first, head down as he gets prepared for the battle about to commence. KU walks out next and stops next to his partner, his arms folded over his chest when suddenly the Southern Express attack from behind!
Aiello: Oh, for the love of--not this again, not two matches in a row! AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE WHO CARES ABOUT THE RUUUUUULES!?
Joe's pleas are ignored as the Affect and the Express brawl it out on the stage, where the fight eventually makes its way to the ring. Things finally settle down, allowing the ref to call for the bell to start the match!
DING DING DING
With the chaos mostly settled down, we kick off the match with KU immediately laying in some hard kicks on Bobby Rose, who does his best to handle the punishment dealt to him. KU takes to the ropes for some added momentum, but Rose is able to exploit this opening with a swift kick to the midsection followed by a snap DDT! Tag to Jimmy Lane, who stays on the attack with some lefts and rights as KU struggles back to his feet. He eventually fends off Lane's attack, sending him to the ropes before hitting a dropkick!
Down goes Jimmy as Antoni leans in for the tag, to which KU obliges as Malietoa charges in looking to take advantage of the opening. He pummels the tag champ with some lefts and rights of his own before bringing Lane back up to a standing position, shoving him into the corner before charging for a shoulder tackle--but Jimmy dodges it at the last second, which sends Antoni crashing into the turnbuckle!
Aiello: Oh boy, look at the impact there!
Bennett: That slip-up might be costly, Joe! You can't make mistakes like that against the tag champs!
Jimmy takes advantage of the situation with a chop block that brings the big man down, before tagging Bobby back in. The two go to work on double-team maneuvers, wearing down the Warrior until KU has had enough and drops in on the pair with a missile dropkick from the top rope! Both of the champs are down, giving Antoni a moment to breathe before making a cover on Bobby!
1...
NO!
Not quite enough to keep the champ down as he kicks out, showing he still has some fighting spirit in this bout! Bobby back to his feet and the two begin trading lefts and rights until Bobby is able to send Antoni to the ropes, hitting a big clothesline on the rebound! We see Jimmy back up to his feet as well, and as KU gets up the champ sends him over the top rope to the outside with a clothesline! Antoni is slow to his feet now, and the Express look poised to strike!
Aiello: Uh oh, could this be a good night for the Eleos Affect?
MIC DROP! The Southern Express hit a big double super kick on Antoni! The Warrior is shook, taking a knee on the canvas as a result...but as Bobby heads to the ropes for momentum, he's stopped like a ton of bricks with a hard knee to the head by KU! Jimmy charges, but is dropped over the top rope before KU slides back into the ring. RIPCORD SLAP! He hit Bobby hard with that...and Bobby ends up turning right into an Evenflow DDT by Antoni!
STRONG ULTIMATUM! Could this be it? Antoni goes for the cover once more, and KU takes to the outside with a dive on Jimmy to keep him from getting back into the ring!
1...
2...
3!
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall... THE ELEOS AFFECT!
The ref raises Antoni's arm in victory as KU slowly gets back to his feet, sliding back into the ring to have his arm raised as well. We see Jimmy still on the floor recovering before we cut to commentary.
Aiello: Oh my, what a match folks! The pair of KU and Antoni Malietoa have pulled off a big upset tonight, beating the EWC Tag Team Champions in non-title action!
Bennett: I don't believe it Joe, what a performance that was! The champs took these guys to task, but it looks like Eleos Affect could be a household name in this division.
Aiello: You have to wonder what the rest of the Love Club will have to say about this, especially as we can now confirm the Xtreme Ravagers WILL be in tag team action when BRAWL heads to South Carolina!
Antoni and KU continue to celebrate in the ring as we cut away to see what's happening backstage ...
Cameras fire up backstage to show a battered King Flip sitting in a locker room alongside his manager, Chanel. It isn't long when backstage interviewer Bob Murray walks into the locker room. Flip shakes his head in disbelief while wiping sweat and blood from his face and chest.
Murray: King Flip! You just had what many would dub an instant classic against David Miller, former North American AND CW Broadcast champion. Do you have anything to say about that all-out battle?
King Flip: Well, medical officials were all over the place looking at him, looking at me. Pretty sure I saw a couple seeing if they could do anything about Connor's desk. Anyway... I didn't get an opportunity to thank him for coming out. He went out of his way to give me this match. He didn't have to do it, I didn't have to accept, but we'd built it up so much on Fighter Talk that, really, it was only a matter of time before that came to a head. And yeah, I walked out with the victory -- just like I said I would -- but REGARDLESS... David Miller. If you ever want a rematch, if you ever feel like you need to get back in the ring in a no-rules situation, look no further than King Flip. My door will always be open to a bad motherfucker like that.
Bob looks quite surprised. It doesn't look like he's ever heard the King hold so much respect for another performer.
Murray: Well... what do you think this means for the future for you, King?
King Flip: It shows the WORLD that I'm still the man to beat on this brand. It shows our champions just how far I'll go to get the job done. Most of all, it shows Connors that he needs to lock his damn door when he's got two outright lunatics looking for a pinfall anywhere in the arena. Does this mean I should be next in line for anything? No, I don't think so. Not even after I nail Darna Dare to the Goddamn canvas does it mean I've got anything in my immediate future. But what it does solidify... what has always been true... is that when King Flip is in the building? He's always going to be a part of the conversation.
Murray: Can you be more specific?
King Flip: We all saw King Flip come just short of re-securing the International championship last year. We all saw the five-way nightmare where King Flip was part of the last three standing, just inches away from etching my name in the X-Division championship. But as long as I breathe, I seethe... and I promise you that I'll be right back in the game gunning for one of those belts. Hell, maybe Connors will put me up against Bradford next week. Or maybe, just maybe... I'll get my hands on an opportunity for the Undisputed Heavyweight championship. It's still early, Murr-ray. Now get out of my damn locker room. I need to relax and get my head right before I head to Long Beach and beat the piss out of a woman who's been here long enough for a cup of coffee but still got her hands on a contendership. Goodnight, Los Angeles. Goodbye, Bob Murr-ray.
Before Bob can say another word, he's shoved out of the locker room by Chanel. She quickly slams the door shut before he can chime in. He looks dejectedly to the camera and shrugs as the scene fades out to commercial.
WILL A REBEL RISE TO THE OCCASION?
[SINGLES MATCH]
FOR THE FX BROADCAST CHAMPIONSHIP
VS | ||
Rebel Rhodes | Tyler Bradford |
We return to ringside where commentary is standing by for our next contest.
Aiello: Absolute bedlam tonight in Dodger Stadium, folks! But now it's time...it's time...it's FX Broadcast Championship time!
Bennett: Tyler Bradford has made a promise to prove he really is the best this brand has to offer, and while he waits for that coward Ace King to accept his challenge he now has to defend his title against the returning Rebel Rhodes!
Stroup: The following match is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the FX Broadcast Championship! Joining us first, from Rome, Georgia, weighing in at 145 pounds, she is the Rebel Star ... REBEL RHOOOOOOODES!
"The Steeple" by Halestorm plays, bringing the Dodger Stadium crowd to their feet as Rebel Rhodes makes her way out! She shows her appreciation as she heads toward the ring, eagerly preparing herself for the challenge ahead as she slides into the ring, showing her appreciation once more to the crowd!
Stroup: And her opponent, from Miami Beach, Florida, weighing in at 223 pounds... he is the reigning FX Broadcast Champion ... TYLER BRAAAAAADFOOOOOOORD!
"Iconic" by Jaxon Gamble plays as Tyler Bradford makes his way out, accompanied by Eddie Dozier holding the FX Championship to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Neither man pay this any mind as they approach the ring, Tyler stepping in and seemingly brushing off his challenger...which infuriates Rhodes enough to attack the champ from behind! The ref breaks the fight up before it gets started, calling for the bell to start this FX Broadcast Championship bout!
DING DING DING
Tensions are already high at the start of this match, with Rebel looking to stay on the attack in the hopes of catching the champ by surprise! She lays into Bradford with some hard kicks and punches, before taking to the ropes...and before Tyler can react, he gets sent out of the ring with a headscissors takedown by the Rebel Star, showing off her recent joshi training! Eddie swings around to check on the champ, but is met with a similar fate as Rhodes leaps over the top rope with a plancha, taking him down as well!
The ref has no choice but to start counting, but Tyler is already back in the ring before the count of two! As the ref gets to five, we see Rhodes back to her feet, sliding into the ring...where Tyler awaits, laying in a stomp on the challenger!
Aiello: Tyler seems more than a little frustrated after Rebel threw him for a loop at the start of this bout!
Bennett: I don't blame him! She hit a cheap shot, and now she's getting what she deserves!
Tyler continues to lay the boots into Rebel until the ref is forced to break things up. The champ argues against this, giving Rebel some needed breathing room as she gets back to her feet. Tyler turns his attention back to the challenger...who wallops him with a haymaker! Tyler is shaken but not down yet, as Rebel once again takes to the ropes...only to be met with a big clothesline on the return trip! Tyler can be seen shaking the cobwebs out of his head, trying to collect himself as he goes back on the attack.
He brings Rebel back to her feet, hitting some solid punches to the head before dropping her with an arm drag. Rebel quickly gets back to her feet, charging at the champion...who manages to catch her with another arm drag! A smirk appears on the champ's face, proud of his handiwork as he looks for a body slam on Rebel...who slips out of it!
SHOT THROUGH THE HEART! Down goes Tyler after that cutter, and Rebel goes for the cover!
1...
2...
NO! Tyler just manages to kick out!
Aiello: Wow, Rebel Rhodes nearly got the win there!
Bennett: Too damn close a call, Joe!
The frustration is mounting on the champ's face as he gets back to his feet, he's ready to bring this to an end as he kicks Rebel in the midsection before lifting her up above his head...and he's ready to drop her into the Pele kick! WITNESS M--NO! Rebel squirms out of it, into a crucifix pin!
1...
Eddie looks panicked here!
2...
He runs around on the outside to try and pull the ref out!
3!
Eddie's too late and Tyler kicks out a split second after the final count!
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall...and NEW FX Broadcast Champion... REBEL RHOOOOOOOOOOOOODES!
Any chance of a celebration is short-lived however, as a furious Tyler attacks Rebel after the match! Eddie joins in, the pair looking to sabotage the new champ's moment here tonight until officials come spilling out to ringside to break things up! Officials pull the pair away from Rebel, bringing Tyler and Eddie onto the ramp as we can hear Tyler yelling that he WILL be enacting his rematch! Back in the ring, Rebel is helped to her feet before she's presented with the FX Broadcast Championship, celebrating as we cut to commentary.
Aiello: What a match, and what an ending! Rebel Rhodes caught the champ by surprise from the outset, and despite the best efforts of Eddie Dozier was able to get one over on Tyler Bradford to become the NEW FX Broadcast Champion!
Bennett: It's an absolute outrage, Joe! Tyler has every right to get his rematch now, you KNOW he's not gonna let this slide! He has a reputation to uphold, dammit!
Aiello: We'll see what happens there Steve, but it cannot be denied that Rebel Rhodes is your NEW champion! Folks, when we come back we're in for one brutal treat as Stitches and Candy face off in BRAWL's first-ever WonderCrush Match! Don't go away!
Before we go however, we have another visitor waiting backstage ...
The camera cuts to the Away Dugout where we find Bob Murray standing by
Murray: Ladies and gentleman, the EWC Undisputed Champion Killjoy Ito and his manager, ‘The Prodigal Son’ Buddy Love…
There is a nice pop inside Dodger Stadium as the camera pulls back to show Killjoy and Buddy standing next to Bob, who quickly jumps in before the cheers die out
Murray: Allow me to congratulate you Killjoy on winning the Undisputed Championship at WrestleFest last December and tell you that I for one am excited about the idea of Killjoy Ito appearing inside a Brawl ring. We haven’t seen you wrestle under the red banner since…
But Buddy jumps in, cutting Bob Murray off
Love: Since Brawl #560 against Naoki Arakawa, where we took the Japanese legend and showed him his time was over and there was a NEW Japanese legend here in the EWC, this man…
Buddy points at Killjoy with a smile on his face
Love: Before that we competed here at Brawl #555 in the Tag Team Championship Tournament with Gabriella Visconty and reached the Semi-Finals before losing to The Diamond Dogs, pretty impressive seeing as the two had never teamed up before but sadly Bob we are not here to announce that we will be returning to a Brawl ring sometime soon…
This draws more than a few boos from the sold out Los Angeles crowd as Buddy tries to calm them down with a wave of his hand
Love: Easy…I’m not saying NEVER, just not soon…see we have a date with destiny on March 28th at StrangleMania against Ace King and we need to make sure we are fresh and ready…
This time it’s Bob Murray that cuts Buddy off
Murray: Then why show up here tonight if it’s not to announce you will be appearing on Brawl in the near future?
Bob shrugs but Buddy just smiles
Love: Bob we have our focus on Ace King and StrangleMania but we aren’t going to bury our heads in the sand and ignore the face that we are the Undisputed Champion of ALL of the EWC, now I know, Brawl isn’t what it once was…no longer the ‘real’ flag ship show of the EWC, that of course would be Paramount…
The Brawl fans boo but Buddy continues
Love: Just look at the facts, Paramount Superstars hold all three Quad Brand Championships, The Southern Express are the EWC Tag Team Champions, El Pablo is the X-Division Champion and Killjoy is the Undisputed Champion…making Paramount Mecca when it comes to the EWC…but we didn’t come here to brag and make you guys feel like a lesser brand…no, we came here tonight to show you that the Undisputed Champions cares about this little brand and understands you have a ‘few’ worthy challengers to this championship…
Buddy touches the face of the Undisputed Championship
Love: Former Undisputed Champions like Stitches and Candy, the latter went on a length rant last season about how she wanted this championship back…and then went out and lost to Xavier Reid and when you add in her losing at WrestleFest to Pence Weatherlight and failing to become the #1 Contender to the International Championship I’m not sure how much of a case she really has at this point but she sure is spooky these days…
Buddy pumps his arm as to say ‘you go get them kid’ as he smiles
Love: Not sure Stitches has much of a case after losing to Xavier Reid at WrestleFest but I know people here tonight are excited about their little WONDERCRUSH match, whatever the heck that is…
Buddy shrugs and just as Bob Murray is about to explain it to Buddy he starts back up
Love: And I know Brawl has some real 'up and comers', people like King Flip who faces David Miller here tonight and can make a real statement with a win and Killjoy's former tag team partner Gabi Visconty, who has a history of knocking off Undisputed Champions and she will get that show at Paramount #016 but tonight she needs to be focused on Pence and not on us...
Buddy mouths, 'go Gabi'
Love: We understand that Xavier Reid is a legit contender but he’s in The Love Club right? He and my father would never challenge this while it’s on the shoulder of Killjoy Ito…
Buddy smiles as Killjoy looks at Bob Murray a bit more unsure about that than his manager but Bob used this break to cut in
Murray: We were a little disappointed not to see Killjoy in a match here tonight Buddy, last season the then Undisputed Champion Stitches wrestled on the first Brawl of the season…
But Buddy waves him off
Love: We are aware of that Bob, in fact Stitches wrestled a ton before StrangleMania and how did that work out for him? We handed his a tired and worn out Ace King at StrangleMania and he lost…why…well maybe it was due to all the needless matches he took part in leading up to the Main Event of StrangleMania…in fact Bob many wondered if it was the best decision for Ace King to work the schedule he did last season and some have said he looked tired at the end of the year, dropping matches to Xavier Reid and The Southern Express before losing that Monday night…well we won’t make that same mistake Bob…
Buddy points to his head
Love: My father taught me to work smarter not harder…now we aren’t saying we will avoid Brawl like it’s the plague this season by our first priority is defending this championship at StrangleMania so our 2022 in-ring Brawl debut is going to have to wait but we are here to lend our support and assure everyone on Brawl that while you might not be what you once were we still care about you and haven’t forgotten about you…
Murray: Thanks???
Buddy pats Bob Murray on the back
Love: No problem at all, so we wanted to wish everyone the best of luck here tonight and make sure they know that their Undisputed Champion is watching…so don’t hold anything back…impress us and maybe we will come back here to Brawl to face YOU…
Buddy points into the camera and smiles as Killjoy rolls his eyes before we go to commercial break.
OLD RIVALS COLLIDE IN BRUTAL FASHION!
[WONDERCRUSH MATCH]
VS | ||
Candy | Stitches |
We return to ringside where the final preparations have been made for what could be a brutal match up ahead!
Aiello: Man, I am nearly at a loss for words here. Up next is a very rare, very violent treat for you loyal EWC fans. Stitches and Candy have been to war many a time in the EWC, but this really takes the cake!
Bennett: For the first time in BRAWL history we see the WonderCrush and all its glorious, dangerous splendor. Oh hell yeah!
Stroup: The following match is THE WONDERCRUSH and will be decided via stoppage. Joining us first, from the Carnival Of Shattered Dreams, weighing in at 260 pounds ... STITCHES!
'One Missed Call (2008) Theme' plays as the lights go dark. As the beat in the music drops Stitches appears from behind the curtain. Stitches methodically makes his way down the entrance ramp with no care for the audience. Stitches approaches the nearby steel stairs, climbs up onto the apron and begins walking the edge of the apron like a tight rope before reaching the nearby ring post. Stitches climbs up onto the second rope and throws his arms out wide. Stitches enters the ring and sits down in the corner of the ring, waiting for the bell to ring.
Just as "I Want Candy" by Aaron Carter starts to play throughout the arena, fans immediately start to cheer as Candy emerges from the back all smiles as she does a little dance at the top of the stage.
Stroup: And his opponent, from Candyland, weighing in at 106 pounds ... CANDY!
After her name is announced, Candy begins skipping her way down the aisle as she tags the outstretched hands along the way. She circles half the ring before climbing up on the apron. As she takes a seat on it, Candy blows a kiss into the crowd. She then lays back and rolls into the ring under the bottom rope. Once she's on her feet again, Candy taunts the crowd until her music subsides.
DING DING DING
Both Candy and Stitches take a moment to absorb their surroundings. Stitches smiles a sinister smile as he knows he is familiar with the environment. Candy hesitates for a second before a smile curls at the corner of her lips. The glass cage, constructed by four towering, plexi-glass walls, is filled with an assortment of glass weapons. Several glass trays hold smaller glass objects, there are also light tubes, sheets of glass, and glass tables, amongst other objects. Stitches is quick to grab a light tube, Candy eyes the glass weapons for a moment and too grabs a light tube. The two of them swing wildly at one another, not realising the other has the same weapon.
The two light tubes collide with one another, shattering in mid-air with a loud popping sound. The air eloquently fills with shards of powdered glass as the crowd emits an audible gasp. Realising going for the glass objects right away may not be a good strategy, the two of them start trading a barrage of punches as powdered glass showers down around them. Stitches, the heavier of the two, manages to gain the advantage and backs Candy into the ropes. Stitches shoves his hand into the face of Candy and pushes the back of her head up against the plexi-glass wall of the Wondercrush structure.
Candy will have none of it and shoves the clown away. Standing a few feet away, Candy charges at Stitches and connects with a Neckbreaker, both of them collide with the mat, powdered glass bounces into the air as the two of them feel it prick their skin, creating several, microscopic wounds.
Aiello: Oh lord, just look at the damage so far!
Bennett: Emotional, mental, but most importantly physical!
Candy winces for a moment before getting back to her feet, lifting Stitches back to his feet. Candy backs the clown towards the glass tables propped up in one corner of the ring and backs up with a wicked smile on her face. Candy charges towards Stitches and the glass tables but the clown moves out of the way, Candy stops herself just in time to avoid sending herself through the glass tables. Stitches uses this opportunity to grab Candy by the back of her head and bring her down with a Zig Zag-esque move.
Stitches stands back to his feet and grabs one of the glass tables and shoves it down towards Candy, she moves out of the way to avoid it colliding with her. The glass table shatters across the ring mat. Stepping precariously around the glass, Stitches goes to grab Candy but she rakes his eyes. Candy bends over and grabs one of the shards of glass and swings it wildly towards Stitches, he ducks under it and connects with a back kick to Candy. Stitches grabs the bent over Candy by the back of her head and swings her violently down upon the mat.
She screams out in pain as small shards of glass protrude from her back. Stitches laughs a maniacal laugh as Candy desperately tries to remove the glass. He then grabs Candy and tries to slam her down upon the mat again, Candy avoids it by gashing his forearm with one of the shards of glass she pulled from her back. Stitches stumbles backwards in agony as Candy continues to remove shards of glass from her back. One by one she pulls them out, wincing with the removal of each one, until they have all been removed. She had narrowly avoided some of the larger pieces, which would have done more damage.
Aiello: This is getting way too gruesome to watch now, Steve!
Bennett: Good thing we're no longer in primetime hours, Joe!
Candy gingerly gets to her feet and leans up against the ropes to regain her composure. Out of nowhere Stitches charges towards Candy and delivers a wicked lariat which sends Candy up and onto the top rope. The plexi-glass cage stops her from going right over. Eventually, Candy slides off of the top rope and between the ropes and the plexi-glass cage. Stitches charges at Candy and delivers a basement dropkick, slamming her head against the glass cage wall. Stitches lifts Candy to her feet and tries to pry her out from between the ropes and the glass wall but Candy grabs him by the back of the head and hangs him up upon the top rope.
Stitches stumbles backwards which gives Candy time to free herself. Candy approaches Stitches and throws a few strikes before lifting Stitches up and, with surprising strength, tossing Stitches down with a body slam. Fortunately for Stitches, he avoids the shards of glass on the mat. Most of them had shuffled to one side of the ring. Completely oblivious to a sheet of glass nearby which is almost camouflaged by the glass wall of the cage, Stitches leg collides with the sheet of glass and it cracks into several smaller pieces.
Candy approaches Stitches but the clown manages to pry apart one of the shattered pieces of glass and swings it wildly at Candy. Candy stumbles backward to avoid the piece of glass. Stitches slumps over against the ropes nearby, the piece of glass still clutched in his hands. Candy charges at Stitches and goes for a dropkick, however, Stitches holds up the sheet of glass to protect himself. The glass shatters, cutting Candy's leg. The top half of the piece of glass is shoved towards the carnival clown's forehead from the impact of the dropkick, cutting open his forehead in the process.
Aiello: Good lord, that looks nasty!
Bennett: These two will stop at absolutely nothing to survive, Joe!
The two of them remain motionless in the ring as the crowd cheer in an uproar for their efforts. Candy starts moving first, then Stitches. Candy, with great effort, stands to her feet and then lifts Stitches to his feet, grabs him by the back of the head and bashes his forehead into the plexi-glass walls of the Wondercrush structure. One, two, three times, and with a fourth time she smears the carnival clown's face across the glass, smearing his face paint. Candy shoves Stitches backwards towards the middle of the ring and the clown slumps over into a seated position.
Candy approaches a tub of glass objects and pulls out, ironically, a glass clown sculptor. Candy smirks at the glass sculptor and advances towards Stitches. Candy goes to swing the glass sculptor towards the clown's head but Stitches has managed to grab a hold of a light tube from nearby. Stitches swings the light tube and it connects with Candy's forehead. Instantly, blood starts to pour from the gapping wound. In pain, Candy wipes her forehead and sees the blood on her hands. Her wicked smile grows wilder as she salivates at the sight of her own blood.
Candy starts stomping away at the carnival clown with veracity before wiping the blood from her forehead through her blonde hair, staining it a sickly pink. Candy turns her attention back towards the carnival clown as she leans over to pick him up, however, Stitches grabs her by the back of her head, places the crowd of his head underneath her jaw and connects with a Jawbreaker. Candy lands back first on the blood-stained, glass-covered mat. Stitches is back to his feet now and stomps her hands, Candy screams in pain as Stitches drops an elbow down upon her back. Stitches drags Candy into the center of the ring and connects with the Crimson Arrow, down upon the powdered glass of the light tubes that shattered earlier.
Aiello: Holy sh--WOW, that is terrifying!
Bennett: It's been a war of attrition Joe, and after this much pain you gotta wonder who will grin and bear it!
Stitches slowly gets back to his feet after connecting with the Crimson Arrow and turns around to pick up Candy, but she isn't there. Propped up against one of the glass tables in the corner of the ring is Candy, blood trickling down her face from the gash in her forehead as she waves back at Stitches with a wicked smile. Stitches charges at Candy and goes to drive a knee into her face but she moves out of the way and Stitches smashes his knee into the glass table. The glass table splits in two. Stitches stumbles out of the corner of the ring and Candy grabs him, driving two knees into his back and connecting with a Backstabber. Candy fumbles through a tub of glass nearby as Stitches recovers.
Candy retrieves a glass mug and swings it at Stitches, the clown ducks under it and Candy smashes it against the glass wall of the cage. Stitches grabs Candy and shoves her towards the glass cage wall. Stitches rubs Candy's face into the glass wall, smearing her blood across it as he screams 'look at what you made me do'. Suddenly, with a swift kick, Candy levels Stitches in the nether region. Stitches doubles over as Candy mounts the carnival clown and deliver several stiff forearms to the back of his head.
Looking over Stitches shoulder, Candy sees the shards of glass from the broken glass mug. She picks the glass shards up, eyes them over, and then stares down at Stitches as he splutters up saliva and blood. Candy, without hesitation, shoves the glass shards into the carnival clown's mouth and presses them against the corners of his lips.
The referee begs for her to stop, but with a sinister smile, Candy starts to pull outwards with the shards of glass, slowly carving open the clown's cheeks. Stitches passes out instantly from the pain before Candy can cut too deep and the referee calls for the match to be stopped. Candy throws aside the shards of glass and allows the carnival clown's motionless head to drop down upon the shards of glass on the mat.
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via referee stoppage... CANDY!As the glass cage is raised, Candy stands over the carnival clown's lifeless body for a few moments and watches the blood seep from the corners of his mouth. The referee grabs Candy by the wrist and lifts her arm triumphantly up into the air. Candy can barely hold her arm up after what she had endured. Wiping the blood from her forehead, she drops both arms and slumps onto her knees from exhaustion. A team of medical attend to Stitches as Candy stares. At first, a wicked smile across her face, but erratically it turns into a look of concern, not for the carnival clown, but for herself. Another team of medical help Candy out of the ring, almost unbeknownst to Candy to herself.
Aiello: What an absolute war this was, folks! These two went to hell and back again, each looking to try to settle things inside that dangerous structure...and it was Candy who survived.
Bennett: But at what cost, Joe? You saw the look on her face. You saw what she had to do to get out of that structure. Good lord.
Aiello: Folks, it is a wasteland out here...so we're gonna take a bit to clean things up and check on both competitors out here. When we come back, we have a whole different kind of war ahead of us as Melody Malone faces Xavier Reid in interbrand insanity!
Officials continue to check on the competitors and the cleanup crew arrives to try to get out all the glass as we cut to a very crucial commercial break...
THE QUEEN MAKES HER PLAY IN INTERBRAND INSANITY!

Melody Malone | Xavier Reid |
We return to ringside where the ring is being cleaned, as the WonderCrush match between Stitches and Candy just recently ended. We cut to commentary as the EWC crew continues working on clearing the ring of any lingering shards of glass or other hints of weaponry that was used.
Aiello: Welcome back, folks! We just witnessed a war and what was supposed to be the end of the Candy versus Stitches feud. Whether that rivalry will stay dead .. only time will tell. For now, we are being graced with the presence of Melody Malone, who will face off against our International Champion, Xavier Reid!
Bennett: Reid might be a brutal son of a bitch, but Malone’s vicious in her own rights! We’re gonna find out who hits not just harder, but smarter too! Take us away, Stroup!
Stroup: The following match is for one fall! Joining us first, from San Diego, California, weighing in at 145 pounds, she is THE QUEEN OF EWC, ... MELODY MALONE!
The lights dim, but don’t go dark before the soft words of Billie Eilish’s “You Should See Me In A Crown” begin to play over the P.A. system. Melody comes out from backstage with her crown upon her head and her personal retainer Rory Hyland in tow. She’s unflinching to the crowd’s expression as she comes down the entrance ramp. Rory gets onto the apron, holding the ropes open for Melody to climb through without losing her crown. As Melody climbs into the ring, she gives the crowd a sarcastic smile before she relinquishes the crown to Rory and prepares for her match.
Stroup: And her opponent, being accompanied to the ring by ‘The Memphis Mouthpiece’ Tommy Love, from New York City, New York, weighing in at 220 pounds, he is the EWC INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION ... XAVIER REID!
‘The Memphis Mouthpiece’ Tommy Love walks out onto the stage and is followed out by Xavier Reid, his hands wrapped in black tape with the EWC International Championship over his shoulder. He walks to the front of the stage and crosses his arms into an X in front of his chest and smirks as Tommy follows from behind and acts as if he’s going to hit the camera with the ‘Love Stick’. Tommy points to the ring as Xavier hands him the International Championship and Tommy leads the way, holding the championship in the air.
Xavier storms up the steps and climbs into the ring, Tommy follows suit and walks towards the referee, already complaining about something. Xavier storms across the ring to the opposite corner and jumps to the middle rope and looks over the crowd and once again crosses his arms into an X as Tommy holds up the International Championship in the official's face and reminds him who the champion is.
DING DING DING
Xavier wastes little time in making the first move, starting off with a vicious Pele Kick. Melody is just barely able to dodge by doing the splits and avoiding the leg completely! The crowd responds with ‘ooh’s and ‘awws’ of appreciation at the athletic display.
The Queen swiftly gets up on her feet and then leaps up, trying to wrap her legs around Xavier’s neck in order to lock in a Tilt-A-Whirl Scissorhead. But just as she was able to dodge Reid’s first attack, the same pattern holds true with The International Champion avoiding the Queen’s assault!
Malone takes a deep breath to calm herself then slowly circles around the ring. Reid follows, looking for an opening to assist in turning the match around, but Melody isn’t making it an easy task for him to achieve.
Aiello: Looks like the champ is starting to have a rough ti--
Bennett: Don't you even finish that sentence, Joe! Xavier's gonna be juuuust fine!
The Queen throws her own leg out, slamming it hard against Xavier’s kneecap. He winces, stumbling backwards a bit. Malone takes advantage of him being off balance, and throws another kick, this one for his sternum! The International Champion manages to stand his ground, refusing to fall to a knee!
Tommy cheers Xavier on from the sides, encouraging his client not to give in or kneel.
Malone rolls her eyes … and then goes for the set of ropes furthest away from Tommy Love! The Memphis Mouthpiece attempts to catch up to The Queen, but she leaps off first! BUT WAIT! XAVIER CATCHES Melody as she attempts to take him down with The Royal Proclamation!
Not only does Xavier catch her, but he REVERSES it as he puts her in position for Xplode! Reid is about to slam Malone onto her head, but NO! She kicks the side of his temple and breaks free from the hold, dropping behind The International Champion!
The crowd is going wild at the back and forth exchanges between the two fighters, loving each and every second of what they’re seeing!
As Xavier turns to look at Melody, he is greeted with a boot to his sternum once again! The pain forces him down and finally, Melody goes for her original intended goal. She starts locking in The Queen’s Grace while Reid fights like hell to escape the leg submission!
Aiello: Malone's got Reid trapped!
Bennett: Get on out of it, Xavier!
As Xavier struggles, Melody uses the fact her legs are free and able to move to her advantage. While still holding tightly onto his right, she kicks and steps hard onto his left leg. The struggles from Reid slow and weaken … long enough that Melody can put her full attention into finishing the hold!
Tommy tries to slide The Love Stick into the ring, but the referee scolds him and tells him to remove it, lest he wants Xavier to get disqualified. Tommy reluctantly obeys, finding himself only able to look on as Reid tries his damnedest to reach the ropes!
Every time he gets close, though, he is tugged back into the center! With time running out and him failing to grasp the ropes, Reid does the only thing he can! He taps out!
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via submission, THE QUEEN OF THE EWC, MELODY MALONE!
Melody immediately lets go of the hold as her name is called out. She looks out smugly to the audience, holding up one finger to signal this is the first of her many wins.
Reid, meanwhile, rolls out of the ring. He and Tommy begin walking and talking whilst heading backstage. We cut briefly back to The Queen celebrating before shifting over to commentary.
Aiello: That was quite the effort from Reid, but tonight just wasn’t his night. He does have at least one saving grace, and that comes in Malone not being able to try to stake her claim at the International Championship.
Bennett: Be that as it may, I doubt he wanted to start off this season with an L. I pity the next bitch or bastard who has to deal with Reid.
Aiello: You'd better believe Gabi Vee was watching this match intently, ahead of her challenge for the title next month, but up next she takes on Pence Weatherlight in our main event!
Before we get to that however, it seems we have a message from backstage...
We cut backstage, where GM Jim Connors is standing by looking quite bewildered by what's happened at the Season 23 premiere so far.
Connors: Wowzers, what a night huh folks? We've seen some HUGE moments, including a new champion in Rebel Rhodes and the always sweet Candy surviving the WonderCrush. I wanna take a moment before we head to our main event and talk about our next BRAWL, when we head to South Carolina. As mentioned earlier tonight, there WILL be a rematch with the FX Broadcast Championship on the line, as Tyler Bradford exercises his right to challenge Rebel Rhodes!
This gets a big pop of approval from the crowd, still buzzing from what happened earlier tonight.
Connors: Now, there's a lot more in store for you BRAWLers out in South Carolina, and further details will drop later tonight on our website but one thing I want to address is the International Championship sittuation. As revealed at the top of our show, Gabrielle Visconty challenges Xavier Reid for the title at MNB #580, just weeks before we head to StrangleMania XVII...and that means there is an open slot for the title to be defended at the first Pay-Per-View of the year! The question, then, is who will challenge the champion at Narendar Modi Stadium? Be on the lookout for more, folks, because there WILL be a match in South Carolina to determine who earns that right!
The crowd gives a huge pop for this announcement as we cut to our final commercial break of the night!
INTERNATIONAL CONTENDERS IN SEARCH OF MOMENTUM!

Gabrielle Visconty | Pence Weatherlight |
We return to ringside where commentary is standing by for our main event!
Aiello: Here we go, folks! It's been a wild night here on Monday Night BRAWL, but now it's time for your main event! Gabi Vee has staked her claim to a International Championship shot next month in Vancouver, but TONIGHT she takes on a fellow future contender in Pence Weatherlight!
Stroup: The following match is scheduled for one fall! Joining us first, from Honolulu, Hawaii, weighing in at 126 pounds ... GABRIELLE VISCONTY!
The lights in Dodger Stadium dim as a single spot light shines down on the entrance. Halestorm's "I Am The Fire" begins to play as the X-Tron lights up to display G A B I V E E ! ! ! before the lyrics to “I Am The Fire” begin to scroll across it.
Am I brave enough?
Am I strong enough?
To follow the desire
That burns from within
To push away my fear
To stand where I'm afraid
I am through with this
'Cause I am more than this
Am I strong enough?
To follow the desire
That burns from within
To push away my fear
To stand where I'm afraid
I am through with this
'Cause I am more than this
Gabrielle Visconty walks out of the back and stops at the top of the ramp. Her blue eyes scan over the area as the fans welcome Gabi Vee with cheers. A huge grin spreads across her face as she walks down the ramp and towards the ring. The lyrics continue to follow along on the X-Tron.
Cuz I am more than this
I promise to myself
Alone and no one else
My flame is rising higher
I am the fire
I am burning brighter
Roaring like a storm
And I am the one I've been waiting for
Screaming like a siren
Alive and burning brighter
I am the fire
I promise to myself
Alone and no one else
My flame is rising higher
I am the fire
I am burning brighter
Roaring like a storm
And I am the one I've been waiting for
Screaming like a siren
Alive and burning brighter
I am the fire
Gabi slaps hands and interacts with the crowd before she hops up nimbly onto the edge of the ring to smile out at the crowd once more. Gabi turns and springboard herself gracefully into the ring, then ventures over to her corner.
Stroup: And his/her opponent, from Hershey, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 245 pounds ... PENCE WEATHERLIGHT!
The lights begin to flicker around the ballpark, dimming and brightening in a very rhythmic pattern as the screen in the arena bursts to static as a female voice comes over the PA system stating: "Fear is not a weakness".
After the voice states that, "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums" by A Perfect Circle begins to play as a lone man emerges on the entrance ramp, as the fans erupt into cheers as the sound of air raid horns begins to blare. The man on the entrance ramp begins to make his way down to the ring at a slow pace and with purpose as the fans get louder as more and more realize that this is Pence Weatherlight.
Pence stops midway down the ramp, his eyes locking on to his opponent in the ring as he seems to slowly size them up before continuing his march. Pence cracks his knuckles as he reaches the steps leading up to the ring and then gives a slow look around the arena.
Pence lets out a war cry that the fans mimic as he finishes his march as he enters the ring, glaring at his opponent the whole time as he walks past them to the opposite corner. He keeps glaring at them for a moment longer before looking out at the crowd again, letting out another war cry which the fans once again imitate, and with that one he gives them a big grin before getting out of the corner and beginning to stretch as he keeps glaring at his opponent with a sadistic grin on his face.
Aiello: The look on Pence's face tells the story, he's ready to take on Gabi Vee here tonight!
DING DING DING
The two competitors circle around each other, looking for an opening before settling on the traditional tie-and-collar lockup, in which Pence gets an advantage before sending Gabi to the ropes. He looks for a clothesline on the rebound, but Gabi ducks under before launching herself from the ropes, delivering a back elbow right to the face of Pence!
The attack stuns him just long enough for Gabi to capitalize with an Irish whip that sends Pence to the corner. Sensing her opportunity, Gabi attempts a handspring back elbow smash...but this time Pence evades it, forcing Gabi to collide with the turnbuckle! It's just the opening Pence needs as he hits a running bulldog on the former International Champion!
Pence immediately looks for the pinfall here, as he makes the cover!
1...
NO!
Gabi kicks out almost immediately, which gets Pence amped up as he brings Gabi back to her feet...only to take a European Uppercut! Pence is sent reeling back as Gabi mounts a bit of offense, hitting some kicks before taking to the ropes, building momentum toward a cross body...only for Pence to catch her with a power slam at the last second!
Aiello: Wow, what a power slam by Pence!
Bennett: Gabi's gonna have to really pick it up here if she wants the win tonight!
Gabi is struggling to get to her feet after that power slam, feeling its effect as she slowly builds a vertical base. Pence doesn't offer much breathing room here as he brings Gabi back to her feet, only to twist her around with a straight jacket suplex, sending her right back down! Pence isn't finished though, as he grabs Gabi...who catches Pence by surprise with a Gogoplata! She's got the hold cinched in tight as Pence now struggles to reach for the bottom rope! He's starting to fade!
The ref checks on him, raising his free arm once before letting go...and the arm drops! The crowd is getting anxious now as the ref raises his arm again...and it drops once more! The crowd is absolutely buzzing as the ref raises the arm one more time...but it stays up! Pence is mustering every once of strength he has right now, and even manages to lift Gabi up off the canvas...before dropping her back down with a modified powerbomb! The move does enough damage to force Gabi to break the hold!
Aiello: Gabi nearly getting a submission victory there, but Pence just manages to power out of it!
Bennett: Better step it up, Gremlin!
The pain is evident on Gabi's face as she slowly rises back to her feet, but Pence is also struggling as he works on getting the feeling back in his arm. With this, the two trade lefts and rights until Gabi has finally had enough and takes to the ropes...and this time, she CONNECTS with the big cross body, sending Pence down to the canvas! This is a much-needed opening for Gabi, who gets back to her feet before connecting with a no hands cartwheel splash, driving her body right into Pence! Gabi with the cover here!

NO! Pence just manages to kick out! Gabi rolls out of the ring, looking to take a breather as the ref checks on Pence before beginning the count.

At this point, Gabi slowly gets to her feet before sliding back into the ring, ready to put an end to this match. She climbs to the top rope, carefully scoping her target before leaping off into a corkscrew shooting star press! THE FALLING! IT CONNECTS! Gabi is hurting, but manages to slowly climb over to cover Pence once more!

3!
It's all over! The ref calls for the bell!
DING DING DING
Stroup: And your winner, via pinfall... VISCOOOOON--!
Stroup is interrupted by the sound of "Papercut" hitting the PA as Xavier Reid rushes down to the ring. The crowd boos heavily as Reid is followed by Tommy Love, seemingly directing traffic as Reid makes a beeline for Visconty, sending her out of the ring with a clothesline over the top rope. The champion then turns his attention to Pence Weatherlight, taunting him as he tries to get to his feet...but he never does, as Reid runs at him delivering a nasty punt kick to the head!
Aiello: What the hell!? Reid is a man on a mission with that kick to the head!
Bennett: He's going after the number one contender, Joe! He's sick of all these challenges to his throne!
The ref is begging Reid to stop, but the champ refuses to oblige as he grab Pence by the arms before stomping away at his head! He's yelling obscenities at Pence as officials come rushing down ringside to stop this madness!
Aiello: This is absolute insanity, folks! Gabrielle Visconty picks up the win in our main event of the evening, but the story here is that Xavier Reid is out of his damn mind! We know that next time on BRAWL we will have someone ready to take on the champion at StrangleMania, but who will walk out of Vancouver as champion? Folks, this has been a chaotic night but we thank you for joining us for the Season 23 Premiere of Monday Night BRAWL! For Steve Bennett, I'm Joe Aiello, saying so long and good night and good lord, look at this carnage!
The last thing we see is officials pulling Reid away from a seemingly injured Pence Weatherlight, and the victor of this main event Gabi Vee at ringside finally back on her feet, unable to celebrate the win as the show comes to a close.
