NEXTGEN EPISODE 005 EXTENSIVE RECAP
NOV 17TH 2022

Welcome to the extensive recap of EWC's NextGen episode 5 .. Our fifth show is taking place live from the Aitken Centre in Fredericton, NB. It's a pretty packed smaller venue, and everyone is rocking out to 'The Good Life' by Three Days Grace which is blasting over the PA system and speakers.

EWC PRIME General Manager Jordan Sharpe is out with the crowd right now in his home province. He's taking selfies and introducing NextGen as the 'Next Generation of EWC Superstars'. He then introduces the team. The General Manger Vic Scali comes out and welcomes everyone. Thanks JFS for the intro. He talks about how excited he is to get this talent to the next level and how grateful he is for everyone that enjoyed our previous episodes of Next Gen. He hopes episode five is even better.

John Livingston and Eric Mason are introduced as the analysts / commentary team. Alison Chen is introduced as the ring announcer, a bunch of cheers and whistles when she walks out. Then we meet the backstage interviewer, "Respectable" Joe Danes and finally the three EWC referees being used on NextGen: Linda Vine, Kat Dawkins & rookie referee Toby Sawyer.

We see a video package introducing us to the NextGen Roster. We get to see some backstage footage of them preparing, we see some of the training that goes on at the EWC's Wrestling Academy.

Mason: I'm Eric Mason, he's John Livingston and welcome back to another exciting round of EWC Next Gen! I'm so happy to be calling the action with you here tonight again John, this'll be fantastic. We've got four shows under our belts here and you can tell these Next Gen rookies are getting better and better each time they head to the ring!

Livingston: Oh this should be good Eric, it's time for our season finale and these rookies have really stepped it up.

Mason: There's a lot on the line, the winners are headed to WrestleFest!

There are 5 matches scheduled for the night. Our first match has Jocelyn Gage going on one one with Ben Superior, the crowd was behind Jocelyn due to her similarity to fan favourite Gideon Gage and it was a hard fought contest but Gage ended up picking up the victory.

Mason: There we have it, Jocelyn Gage is the first entrant into our Championship match at WrestleFest! 

Next up in singles action was Alexander Devin facing off with the crowd's undisputed favourite Sunny Skye clad in her 'Cheeks of Steel' ring attire. Devin had the upper hand for a good bit of this match but the crowd got what they wanted as Skye emerged as the victor and picked up the win.

Livingston: If you haven't subscribed to her exclusive content, lemme tell you, you're missing out. Big win for Sunny and it puts her in the match at the 'Fest.

Our third match of the evening pit Abraham Gray against Norah Wadia. This match was very high impact, fast paced and the crowd was very into it as the two superstars traded blows. In the end, it was the Red Right Hand raised victorious as Gray took the win.

Mason: And with that, three of our competitors are now known for our Championship contest. A great win there for Abraham Gray.

Match number four pitted the newcomer Donny J (Who the crowd weren't sure what to make of) against Next Gen standout Cruz Macaque. They were firmly behind Cruz but a shocking roll-up ended up giving Donny the win, keeping Cruz out of the match for WrestleFest! 

Livingston: I'm not gonna lie, I'm surprised we won't be seeing Cruz at the PPV but good on Donny J who came out here and took a win in his first attempt. 

The main event of the evening was a tag-team match, pitting JUST U.S. against Benjamin and Logan Gray. The unorthodox tactics of the zany JUST U.S. weren't enough here as the Grays were able to focus in and take the victory in our last match and the last two spots in the pay-per-view match.

Mason: And that makes our six pack official! The Gray family will have HALF of the field when it comes to WrestleFest and that has got to give them an advantage but who will end up winning the title? How do they decide that? Seems like a perfect chance for one to swoop in and take it from under their noses! It's Abraham Gray Vs Logan Gray Vs Benjamin Gray Vs Donny J Vs Sunny Skye Vs Jocelyn Gage for the NEXT GEN Championship! This has been an incredible first season for Next Gen! We will see you at WrestleFest! This first season has been action packed and we've got even more to come when we crown a champion!
