Hoppin’ Down The Bunny Trail: Part Three
The camera opens as a car pulls up outside a Burger King in Rock Hill, North Carolina. The doors open and out steps the 2021 EWC Manager of the Year Bunny Love and the host of the Heel Turn podcast Deimos. Bunny lowers her sunglasses and looks around before looking over at Deimos, who has walked away from the car leaving her to pay for the ride.
“Rock Hill, I can’t believe Danny decided to live HERE when Xavier’s place had a couch, makes no sense to me but Danny always has been a little ‘off’...”
Bunny pays the driver and walks over to Deimos, who has stopped to look at the Burger King building.
“And why the hell are we meeting your tag team partner here of all places?”
Deimos looks at her in a strange manner and shakes his head.
“Because he works here…he has a break coming up in 10 mins so we need to get in there…”
Deimos starts to walks in the Burger King’s direction but notices Bunny isn’t walking with him, in fact she is rooted in place with her mouth open in shock
“What..you have something against Burger Kings…don’t tell me you’re a McDonald's girl…I mean it’s cool but just don’t let Danny know…he’ll lose what’s left of his mind…”
Deimos smiles but Bunny doesn’t budge
“Wait, he works at a Burger King? Xavier told me he was a ‘valued member in the restaurant business’…I thought he might own a few upscale chains or something…”
Deimos nearly doubles over laughing
“Danny…’Little Danny’...you thought he was a owner of a business, Bunny he was literally helping the guys that set up the ring when I met him…the CEW wasn’t even paying him, the ring guys were giving him 10 bucks and a ride to the next show if he did all their grunt work for him…”
Bunny shakes her head
“No, Xavier told me the CEW hired him…hired you to wrestle for them…”
“Yeah, because I rolled with Xavier and AC and well…one night I won Danny in a game of cards…”
“You WHAT!!!”
Deimos waves her off
“It’s not important, what is important is we get our butts in there if we are going to talk to him, he only gets 15 mins for his break so come on…”
Deimos reaches and and tries to grab Bunny’s hand but moves it quickly, not wanting Deimos to touch her. The two make their way up the sidewalk and into the Burger King. Deimos looks around and sees his old tag team partner putting a Whopper and fries on a tray for a customer and waves
“DANNY!!!! DANNY!!!!
Danny’s eyes widen as he looks around to see where his manager is before raising his hand to his throat and cutting across it to signal ‘cut it out’ but Deimos doesn’t take the hint
“Did you make sure to add your ‘Little Danny secret sauce’ to this ladies Whooper, it’s a bit salty ma’am but full of protein…”
Deimos laughs as the lady looks from him to Danny, who just shrugs and shakes his head as the lady unwraps the Whooper and looks under the bun before grabbing the tray and storming off. Deimos and Bunny approach the register and ‘Little’ Danny
“What the fuck are you doing? Trying to get me fired…”
Deimos smiles and nods
“Yeah we are…”
‘Little’ Danny looks at Deimos and then at Bunny, who looks like she rather be anywhere but here
“Who are you? You realize this idiot doesn’t have any money right? If you’re a gold-digger you really fucked up…he’s a fraud…”
Bunny’s eyes widen and she starts shaking her head
“I’m not WITH this idiot…I mean I’m here with him but I’m not WITH him…”
“This is Bunny Love, Tommy Love’s daughter…”
“That creepy guy that jacks off on everything…”
“Yeah, that’s him…”
“THAT'S MY DAD YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT...and he hasn’t #SEEDED anything in years…”
“Whatever, I stopped watching when Cyrus Black left…”
‘Little’ Danny looks over his shoulder at his manager what’s watching him and pulls up his Burger King shirt to show a Kilt-Bros t-shirt but quickly lowers it when his manager looks over in their direction
“Look, you guys have to order something or he’s going to fire me…I’m already on probation for putting three pickles on the cheeseburgers instead of the store’s policy of TWO pickles per burger…”
Deimos shakes his head at the stupidity of that sentence
“Listen stupid, we are here to offer you a real job and you are blabbering about how many pickles go on your burgers…we are here to break you out of this hell hole…”
“This hell hole offers me health insurance…can you beat that?”
‘Little’ Danny looks right at Bunny Love
“Are you being serious right now?”
“He is…what can you offer us to make us sign with you Ms. Love…”
Deimos smirks as he jumps up and sits on the counter alongside ‘Little’ Danny and the two look at Bunny
“We are talking about the EWC, a multi-million…hell BILLION dollar company…”
“I get two weeks paid vacation here at Burger King…”
“And I make my own schedule as a podcaster…”
Bunny shakes her head in disbelief at these two idiots
“THEY DO ONE SHOW EVERY TWO WEEKS ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS …”
‘Little’ Danny throws his hands into the air
“Wednesday nights…I watch Name That Tune on Fox on Wednesday nights…”
“ ‘Little’ Danny does love his karaoke themed TV Shows…could we do another night? Maybe Thursday nights, I mean Grey’s Anatomy has gone to hell since they killed McDreamy…”
‘Little’ Danny whips his head around to look at Deimos
“THEY KILLED DR. DEREK SHEPHERD!!!!”
“Oh yeah, they ran him over with a car on the side of the road, he went McSPLAT…”
Bunny puts her head in her hands
“You can DVR Name That Tune on the nights Paramount has shows…”
‘Little’ Danny thinks for a moment
“I don't have a DVR or cable, I'm not made of money...however I am making $10 bucks an hour here…”
“You'll be on a fixed salary in Paramount…”
“Can they beat $10 bucks an hour…”
“YEAH by a lot…they cover everything, medical, dental, vision…”
“I don’t need vision, I’m not some primadonna boujee one-percenter…”
“Regardless it’s all covered as well as your flights and hotel stays…you will need a passport though…”
“He has one…”
‘Little’ Danny looks at Deimos
“I do…”
“You do, I got you one just in case…”
“Just in case of what…”
Deimos smirks
“Just in case we have to flee the country…if one of us killed someone or something...”
‘Little’ Danny shrugs and accepts the answer before Bunny continues
“Listen, I managed The Southern Express for the past three years and I helped them put together a EWC Hall of Fame career…they are a sure thing first ballot selection while the two of you have been outside the business since when…”
Deimos and ‘Little’ Danny look at one another for a second
“Since 2012…”
“2013, remember we did that one match under masks for $200 bucks…”
“EACH!!!”
The two pump fists
“My point is someone like me, with my talent…an offer like this doesn’t happen that often…especially to guys like you…I have to provide a tag team for Paramount to start the season and Xavier Reid has faith in the two of you…for some reason…”
‘Little’ Danny looks at Deimos, who grins
“She’s Xavier’s newest toy…”
“I am his girlfriend and he’s the reason why I’m even reaching out to the two of you…I need a tag team and from where I stand the two of you need jobs!!!”
Just then ‘Little’ Danny’s manager walks over
“He has a job and he’s not doing it if he’s talking to the two of you…how many times have I told you ‘Little’ Danny that you are here to take orders and not chat to the customers…I’m going to have to write you up…”
As the manager turns away from the trio ‘Little’ Danny’s shoulders and head drop in disappointment
“Great job guys, thanks a lot…I can kiss that raise goodbye…”
“Sign with me and your shitty 25 cents raise isn’t going to matter…I’ll have you two booked on Paramount #028 and making some real cash…”
Deimos smiles and looks at his tag team partner
“What do you say old chap, want to bring back the 3pAC for one more run at glory?”
‘Little’ Danny shrugs
“Sure, what the hell…I guess I can ask to have every other Wednesday off but you guys have to go, I can’t afford TWO write ups in one day…”
Deimos hops down off the counter and holds out his hand towards Bunny Love
“Alright, well you drive a hard bargain but we will save your ass and sign with you…because Xavier said we had to or he was kicking me out…”
“WHAT!!!”
“Ignore that, you have yourself a tag team so go call Christopher Brock and tell him he once again has an ELITE tag team on his roster!!!”
“Yeah, make the call…from over there…”
‘Little’ Danny motions for them to move and looks at the mom and her two kids standing behind Deimos and Bunny
“Welcome to Burger King, how can I help you…”
Deimos and Bunny step aside and watch as ‘Little’ Danny screams at the customer
“NO WE DON’T HAVE HAPPY MEALS….THAT’S FUCKING MCDONALD'S IDIOTS!!!”
The little kid jumps back and hides behind his mother’s leg
“This is going to be so much fun…”
“I should have just let them sue me…”
Bunny walks towards the door as Deimos smiles and holds his head under the soft drink dispenser and has himself a free shot of Dr. Pepper before heading out the door
