The scene opens up outside of the airport in Bogota, Columbia as a black SUV pulls up to the curb, coming to a stop at the drop off area of the main terminal. The driver jumps out of the car, dressed fairly sharply, and makes his way over to the passenger side door, opening it. Rick Rampage slowly steps out and makes his way onto the curb outside the airport. He was dressed sharply as well, sporting a pair of designer slacks and button-down shirt with a casual sports coat and dress shoes on.
The driver then makes his way to the back of the SUV and opens the liftgate, pulling out a large duffel bag. The bag quickly drops, almost taking the driver with it, but he manages to keep it from hitting the ground as he slowly brings it over to Rick, the bag hanging just a few inches off the ground. As he reaches the curb, the back drags across the edge of it and Rampage quickly reaches over and snatches the bag up, tossing the strap over his shoulder and speaks,“Be more careful, do you know how expensive this bag is. It’s more then you make in a month.”
“Sorry Mr. Rampage…it was just so hea…..”
“I don’t want to hear any of your excuses. First you make me put my own bag in the car and now you try and damage it…I’ll be calling your employer and getting you fired. Now get out of my sight.”
The driver walks off with an angry look on his face as he hops back into the SUV and drives off. Rampage just scowls for a moment and then makes his way into the airport. As he enters the terminal, a young fan walks up to him, holding up a piece of paper and a pen, “ Sr. Rampage... Sr. Rampage..... Te vi en el show el miércoles por la noche y estuviste increíble. ¿Puedo tener tu autógrafo?”
“No comprende kiddo,” Rick responded as he just brushed past the young fan as he walked closer to the ticket counter. Rampage hands over his passport and his ticket as he places his bag down on the scale next to the counter attendant. The attendant looks up at the behemoth of a man,“ Hola señor.”
“What’s with all the Spanish…isn’t this an international airport?” Rick responds as he looks down at the young, homely looking woman. “Yes señor. I speak English as well.”
“Good…I need to check in and check my bag here. Be careful with it…the idiotic driver almost destroyed it out front.”
“Of course, señor. Just give me one moment.” The woman begins to punch in a few things into her computer before looking to the scale reader. “Señor, your bag appears to be overweight. There is a small fee to check the bag.”
“Well, that’s unacceptable. I have a first-class ticket, which comes with two free checked bags, and I am only checking one. So, you can check this bag at no extra cost.”
“Señor, I don’t have the…,”
“Well then I need to speak to your manager,” Rick spoke loudly. As he did, a young man made his way over to the counter and spoke,“Hello sir, can I help you?”
“Yes…I am a first-class passenger and a frequent flyer. I am only checking the one bag when I can check two, and she is telling me I have to pay an extra fee because it’s a little overweight, and I refuse to pay such a fee.”
“I understand sir…let me see what I can do for you.” The manager begins to look at things in the system for a moment. “Well sir, it appears here that you just joined our frequent flyer program…and I will waive this fee for you this one time; may I recommend next time that you just pack two bags because they won’t be able to waive this fee again.”
“Fine..but can we get this moving. I do have a plane to catch.”
The manager simply nods and prints out a tag for the bag and then wraps it around the handle of the duffel bag before lifting it up and placing it on the conveyor belt. He then turns around to face Rick,“Okay sir, you are all ready to go. Enjoy your flight and thank you for flying with us.”
Rick scowls once more as he grabs his ticket and passport back from the attendant and then makes his way towards international security. As he reaches the line, Lisa Goldrush spots him and makes her way over, waving Rick down,“Rick…Rick…can I speak with you.”
“Sure, let’s make it quick though. I do have a flight to catch.”
Lisa Goldrush quickly gets her phone set up on a selfie stick and begins to record,“This is Lisa Goldrush here, coming to you from the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Columbia. With me right now is none other than Rick Rampage; firstly want to say congratulations on your win a few nights ago. You went out and did exactly what you set out to do. You took the fight to Adriana and walked out the winner.”
“Was there any doubt? I had a little bit of ring rust, but I feel it all came back to me in that match. So all in all it was a good little warm up match for me to get back into the swing of things.”
“You most certainly did, a win here in the EWC and in Paramount is something to be proud of. Some of the wrestlers here in Paramount consider this to be the premiere brand in all of the EWC.” Lisa smiled as she looked over at the phone before looking back up at Rick,“One of those men is actually your opponent for this upcoming edition of Paramount, The Lad. He is our current EWC Television Champion and he has made it his mission to use that title as a means to prove that the Paramount Brand is the best brand in all of the EWC. He actually has a match tomorrow night in Atlanta, GA defending his EWC Television Championship against Caleb Scott.”
“Indeed, he is, and that is commendable for some one like The Lad. I will give the man his due; like me, he entered Paramount earlier this year and has taken it by storm. He took down Marcus St. John to win the title and sense then has been traveling from one brand to the next to defend it against all those who want a shot at it, and so far, he has done a commendable job; but after tomorrow night, who knows what will happen. Will he have the title around his waist when he sets foot in the ring with me in a week and a half, or will he have finally been defeated after having successfully defending the title four times?”
“That is the big question,” Lisa responded,“I have received word from the management at Paramount that if The Lad successfully defends his title against Caleb Scott tomorrow night, that your match with him at the next Paramount show in Lima, Peru will be for the EWC Television Championship, which will be unprecedented. You could, in your second ever match for Paramount and the EWC, be competing for one of the cross brand titles for this illustrious company.”
“Unprecedented for you, just another day for me. I am Rick Rampage after all, and I do set the Golden Standard. Whether he keeps the title or not, me being in a match for Championship Gold is inevitable. So, I will be watching his match with Caleb Scott very closely, because I do have some interest in it. I do hope that he retains because I would love to be the one who takes the title off of him, but if he doesn’t, that’s fine too; because whether he is a champion or not, he will not be walking away from a match with me with the victory.”
“Well Rick, that’s sure shows a lot of confidence in your in-ring ability.”
“Well, I have a few hours before my flight, why don’t you let me show you what other abilities I have confidence in,” Rick smirked as he looked down at the young woman.
“Eww…gross…you’re like fifty; and I thought you said you had a flight to catch.... look, that’s all I have for you today. Lisa Goldrush, signing off.” Lisa finishes the interview and storms off, the camera still rolling as Rampage turns his head to watch her walk away.
“Hate to see her leave but love to watch her walk away.” He laughed slightly as he walked off toward the line in security.
