San Juan, PR was getting really nice this time of year. That's not to say that Chicago wasn't starting to warm up, but we were a LONG way from the Friendly Confines. Memo to self, remember to get season tickets. Open scene on Phoenix Winterborn sitting out on the beach with a bag next to him. The glistening sun reflected off his sunglasses, as he opened the small bowl of chili. Weird choice, but alright.
"Y'know? I love Baconators as much as the next guy, but to have the bounty on my head two Prime's in a row? Slightly ridiculous, but I digress. Welcome to San Juan! Welcome to the continuing road to World Wide, and the Elimination Chamber! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Prime! Well..upcoming Prime. Nomad Ryder and Callum McBeth both want to try and step up to get the bounty on me. Which..I don't blame them. Money is money, but here's small secret. These hands are still rated E for Everyone. Justin Paige even in his victory two weeks ago found out that I am not one to be trifled with. I would like to think I knocked a bit of sense into him, but knowing people like that, a victory over me would just inflate his ego even more. I digress, however."
As he continued to munch on his chili he looked out towards the ocean with a smile on his face.
"Nomad, it would seem you've had about as much luck on Prime as I have. Not that it's a bad thing, but you have a lot of learning to do in this crazy business I love so much. You're learning your way around here, and you got signed to pretty much the biggest company in the world of professional wrestling right off the jump. You're going to grow up in front of these fine people. You'll find yourself, and you'll make it to the top of Prime one day. Just..." Phoenix's voice trailed off for a brief moment. "Just not on the edition of Prime. Consider this a teachable moment. You always need to have your head on a swivel, especially in multi person matches. You'll do just fine, but for this one? Sit ack, grab your Capri Sun, and watch the vet work out."
As the last of the chili disappeared, Phoenix turned his attention to the coup de grace of his afternoon meal...the reason we're all gathered here today...the one...the only...Baconator.
"Ol' Callum. How are ya, fella? I know you and I have never formally introduced ourselves, so let me be the first. Phoenix Winterborn, pleasure is all yours, friend. You're the first person within the House that I'm going to be able to get my hands on, and boy oh boy. Sins of the Father...well, Mother. Or something like that. See, when I see Callie Clark, I see all of the House, and all I want to do at that point is lay hands. So Callum, I'm sorry but we find the defendant guilty by association. See, the House together? Well oiled machine, but you on your own Callum? You seem...not as impressive as the rest of the bunch. Shame, really. Because when I put you on your head? I'm not going to feel bad about it. Well, maybe a little, but then I'll remind myself that you're Callie Clark's bitch, and I won't feel bad anymore." He smirks. "This whole bounty gimmick?" He takes another bite of his Baconator (proudly sponsored by Wendy's) "It's not going to happen twice. I got ahead of myself with Paige. I may have two people to watch out for this time, but just like I told Ryder what this was, Prime One Nineteen was a learning experience for me. It's won't happen again. I'm ready now. The comeback is always greater than the setback. One Twenty will be fun, you can bet your bottom dollar."
As Phoenix crumples up the bag, he stands up and removes his sunglasses. "Time heals all wounds gentlemen, and a win helps heal losses. Allow me to show you what I mean Sunday night. Pack your lunches. I suggest a hearty Baconator from Wendy's." A smirk. "I guess the only real question at this point is...who do I eliminate first? The Rookie, or the the faction bitch? Time will tell, I guess. And that, friends...is change you can believe in."
End scene.
