ALABAMA
2010
Celeste had been with Tara after she had signed her first wrestling contract in an Alabama based promotion. She knew how much time Tara had spent training to become a wrestler and now this is her chance.
“I am surprised that you are going outside of New Orleans for the chance to get your wrestling career started, old friend.”
“It needs to be done Celeste. If I want to make a name for myself, I have to get promotions outside of the city to show off my skills. There are some in NOLA that exist but it is very limited to stay in one place for long.”
“I understand but do not forget the ways of our faith Tara. Continue to act as a representative for our people, whether as Manaloa or on behalf of the Loa should one decide to come forward to share your body with you.”
Tara knew that the Loa came to the world of the living from time to time through the Manaloa or Hungon or other members of the tribe but it needed to be a special occasion in order to do so.
“It is something I know what is expected of me, Celeste. Do not forget that now that your mother has retired from her position as Manaloa, there is a need for a new Manaloa. Many of the tribe don’t want you to step into that position due to your arrogance and being full of yourself. The tribe needs a Manaloa that is humble but will give the tribe what they need in the spiritual needs.”
Celeste bit her tongue as she knew that Tara was right. While she wanted to call out the Cajun but she knew better as there was a possible chance that she would become the new Manaloa after the tribe came together for a vote. Tara went to the offices of management of the fed in order to get the paperwork done before she could allow Celeste to say anything.

WHITECHAPEL DISTRICT
LONDON, UK
2024
Tanja and Celeste had been in London for a few days as they wanted to take in the historic buildings that the city had to offer to foreign tourists. The Cajun knew that many tourists would only take in the brighter buildings and areas of the city but she and Celeste were not in one of those areas. The 2 women were seen visiting an unusual location of London as Tanja is heard speaking in her thick Cajun accent.
“The world of Whitechapel district, a dark and dangerous world of London. The spirits that live here are filled with sadness and distress due to the dark and depressing environment that the lower classes of the 18th, 19th and early decades of the 20th centuries would live in. Along with the spirits, there were so many stories that came from Whitechapel that remain to be heard to this day.”
The Cajun and Celeste could hear the whispers of the spirits that were filled in the back alleys of Whitechapel. They could hear the sadness of the wails and screams of pain from the spirits as Tanja knew some of the Barons would want to calm and soothe these spirits but she would not as she, along with some of the darker Barons, knew death came to all no matter the type of death.
“The poverty of this district would lead some of the women who lived here in the mid to late 1800s to go into sex work in order to make money. These women were the main targets of the bloody and disgusting murders that were caused by the world known killer Jack The Ripper. These murders remain unsolved to this day.”
Tanja heard the calls of some of the spirits of the women who were in the sex trade during those days. She brought the coat she was wearing close to her while she and Celeste stopped at a corner.
“It is a shame for what happened to those women and their justice could not be avenged against the horrible monster that killed them.” Tanja sighed quietly in disappointment. “They could not escape the darkness that they were expected to remain due to their choice of profession.”
Celeste was surprised to hear what was being said but she kept her mouth shut as she knew how both the Cajun and the Spirit were direct in their words against anyone who went against them.
“Our vessel knew what was expected of her when she allowed us to share her body. She knew that a life as a manaloa would be a path of spiritual and mental strength. She has had the preparations leading up to us entering her life amongst her tribe and Celeste has also guided her as well and we are appreciative of her guidance.”
“I knew that there were strong inclinations in her to hold your essence and power Dalia. Few of the previous Manaloas were able to handle a Loa of your status but Tanja has proved herself strong.”
The spirit knew Celeste had known Tanja for a very long time and knew the personality of the Cajun. She knew that Celeste called things out as she saw it with the world of Voodoo as it was.
“That she is and she knew what she was walking into when she accepted the faith of Voodoo and there is a crossroad of light and a crossroad of darkness. Amber may have grown up in the environment of different spiritual beliefs but she has not fully accepted the darkness that has come with the world. Her uncle and Renae have tried to warn her about the darkness and what can happen when one is ignorant of it but Amber did not listen. She wanted to believe in the good of all at hand but not all is good in the world, something our vessel understood despite her humble nature.”
The Cajun noticed how some people were overhearing the promo that she was giving but hearing Voodoo caused most of them to turn around and leave.
“I did find it amusing how both of us tried to share and remind Amber that our spiritual path is a dangerous one for those who do not understand. Saul and Renae did try to feed her ignorance while protecting her but you have shown her the truth.”
“It was our plan dear Celeste during these recent months and you know that. The spirit that came to share the body and mind of Amber has their own path in the world but from what we have seen, the spirit has done very little to give us any sort of fright. We have given everyone notice on what we do in the world while representing Papa Legba.”
Tanja pulled out a small dagger from the belt of her skirts and began to twirl it as her bright eyes flickered in the dim light of the street lights at the street corner.
“When you walk into the spirit world, would you ignore the way of life that is laid out by the divine? Would you not accept the blessings that the spirits would give you?” Tanja tsked quietly. “It is a shame that Amber is running away from the life that she grew up in for whatever reasons she has. Come stranglemania, the lessons in the spiritual world are necessary when Legba’s Spirit fills us in order to cleanse the indecision that Amber has in her heart and soul.”
The Cajun continues to twirl the small dagger while giving a small prayer to Papa Legba as Celeste had done the same.
“We admit we are at a disadvantage due to the size difference we have compared to Amber but we have faced bigger and badder opponents and we have come out all the better. We know we must take out the limbs of the person bigger than us in order to weaken them so we can force them into submission.” Tanja sneered. “Submissions are our focus and we will lean into bringing the champion to the submission of death.”
People backed away as they saw the dagger and didn’t want to be on the receiving end of whatever the Cajun had planned. Tanja brushed them aside as she leaned forward.
“We may have discussed various matters during this little speech of ours but there is one thing we haven’t forgotten about: the Dynasty title. Amber won the title several months back and has yet to defend it since winning it. Bringing her to submission of death is needed in order to pull the title away from her. The spirit that has inhabited her has not prepared her for the glory of a reign as a champion. Our vessel has held championship gold in the past and knew what was expected of her no matter how long or short her reign was.”
The Cajun flashed a coy smile for the words she had said against Amber, knowing that it needed to be said. The coldness of those words spread through the alleyway and Tanja could hear the whispers of the spirits continue to wail in despair.
“Unlike our vessel, Amber is walking into Stranglemania with a loss. It is something that must hit to the self confidence where the undefeated streak has come to an end. Our work against Amber and the spirit in order to continue crushing her self confidence and lack of killer instinct to be worthy as champion.” Tanja paused. “The fact that both of us have defeated Brett Kennedy is not the same as fighting for the title that Amber holds.”
Tanja slipped the dagger into its sheath under the sleeve of her shirt as it would be hard to explain why she had it in the UK, especially as a foreigner to the country.
“The Crossroads of violence and death is something we may be forced to tap into in order to add another title to our current collection. We understand that we can’t tap into the extreme rules of the world of the NFW Event Horizon title that we currently hold but the energy of killer instinct from that life we can manipulate and use in order to manipulate Amber. We, along with our vessel, do not like to tap into the negative energy in order to win.”
“Use the mischief that some of your brethren are known for. I understand you may prefer representing the Barons but Papa Legba would be proud should you be mischievous during the match. It will throw Amber and the spirit that shares her mind off. Renae may have guided Amber and tried to understand our ways but not completely, something you can use to your advantage.”
The Cajun flashed a smile as she liked the idea given to her by Celeste.
“Perhaps you have forgotten Celeste, the match is a pure rules match. There are some rules that we must follow in order to have a chance in obtaining the title. Nevertheless, it is something we must consider for sure as we listen to the positive energy of Legba’s spirit or the negative energy and call of the Barons.” The smile remained. “It will be refreshing to add a major title again to our collection as we hadn’t held a major title in quite some time. The Dynasty title needs to have a champion that doesn’t have the killer instinct or natural dark energy to hold it.”
Celeste kept watch as she slipped into the shadows as she prepared a small amulet that she was carrying for special purposes.
“Spirits of Whitechapel, guide us during this match and allow us to represent you and avenge you while we are a visitor here on your land. You should be remembered and not forgotten like you were in life.”
The scene slowly faded to black as Celeste gave Tanja the amulet and the 2 women continued to explore the historic district.
