NEXTGEN EPISODE 011 EXTENSIVE RECAP

MAY 2ND 2024

Welcome to the extensive recap of EWC's NextGen episode #11, our next NextGen step into Season 25. Before the capacity crowd at the Sunnyview Expo Center could get any glimpse of the talent, the Country band ‘Eight Second Ride’ treated everyone to a southern version of the Star Spangled Banner. With the last notes played, the beer gone, and the smell of leather behind the curtain… the night was about to get started!

'Bad Reputation' by Adelitas Way blares out over the murmuring crowd, causing them all to turn to the entrance with curiosity. New NextGen General Manager Isaac Hale, steps out of the back dressed in black slacks, a black dress shirt, and a NextGen Purple vest. His hair a little bit sloppier than it was on the last show, GM Hale stops at the top of the entrance as his music quiets down to allow him to speak.

Hale: Hello Oshkosh and Hello E-W-C-Nation!

The fans pop, looking forward to the night. It wasn’t as energetic as it was a month ago… but it was happy none-the-less.

Hale: First off I wanted to thank you all for coming tonight. I know you were expecting three matches, but I do regret to inform you that ol’ Jack Severn, the EWC Indy Champion himself, has decided that the HOUSE is too important to appear on NextGen

A loud boo echoes through the Expo Center

Hale: I know, I know. Even though our Champion is part of the House… Ol’ Jack turned his nose up to us and last I heard, didn’t even book a flight to come here.

The booing gets louder.

Hale: But don’t worry! Our Cheese-Curd match is still a go… and so is our EWC NextGen Championship Match!!!

The crowd’s booing, quickly changes to cheering

Hale: So let’s get this show on the road!!!

Isaac Hale claps his hands as the fans continue cheering. With his mic now turned off, he turns and heads back through the curtains.

Kushnir: Hello everybody! Welcome to Episode eleven of NextGen!

Evans: At Episode Ten, we saw Tori Taylor win General Manager Hale’s little tournament, to claim the vacant NextGen Championship!

Kushnir: Which was only vacant because Kenzie Ford decided she was too good for us, her at N-G.

Evans: But tonight, Tori is in line for her first defense… against Haunting Curse. So without her House-mate here, can she withstand her one-on-one with the scary-one?

Kushnir: Well lets find out!

Joe Simpson vs Showoff Steve

Match #1: Cheese-Curd-On-A-Stick Match

The both of them make their way to the ring and are slightly taken back at the amount of cheese-curds shoved onto little wooden skewers, around the ring. They take their first grouping of them, eat them, and start to go at it. It isn’t long before a well placed shot to the gut of Showoff Steve caused the man to start dry-heaving. Another well placed knee, dropped him onto his own knees. KNEE TO THE FACE AND THAT IS ALL SHE WROTE! Joe Simpson with the win after only one skewer of squeaky-cheesey-goodness!

As the ref raises Joe’s hand, we cut back to Evans and Kushnir.

Evans: And these Wisconsin folk go crazy over this little ball of deep fried cheese?

Kushnir: Wisconsin, Minnesota, just Midwesteners in general.

Evans: Hmmm, interesting.

Tori Taylor (C) vs Haunting Curse

MAIN EVENT: NextGen Championship Match

Tori tried to quickly make this a spectacle as she tried using her speed to zip around Haunting Curse, but it wasn’t working as well as she thought it would. On her third time around, Curse threw an elbow and caught Tori right in the temple. Dazed and slightly thrown off, Tori stumbled back and gave Haunting Curse the opening to begin head-shot after head-shot onto her. Fists, elbows, knees, feet… everything was aimed at Tori’s head with every intention to murde-I mean, knock her out. Tori tried to put up a fight, but obviously starting to feel the effects of what was surely a nasty concussion, her reaction time was off and she walked right into Haunting Curse’s Bitter Harvest. With Tori’s eyes basically rolling into the back of her head, the ref threw up the ‘X’ before dropping down to count the 1…2…3!!!

The ref quickly raised Haunting Curse’s arm into the air, almost guiding the monster to get up off of Tori. As he handed HC the NextGen Championship, the medics slid into the ring and immediately began checking on Tori Taylor.

Evans: She is NOT looking good.

Kushnir: She impressed us at the last NextGen show and it seemed her path was planned on impressing us again, but that well timed elbow stopped her in her tracks. And now for the second time in as many shows, we have a NEW CHAMPION

Evans: Well join us NEXT month, for our trip to Flin-wait, I’m being told that the show has been canceled. Geeze, all the shows being postponed, must be something in the water. Well for Hayley Kushnir, I'm Michael Evans, thank you and Goodnight!
